I stopped here for lunch on a sunday but found out they were serving their brunch menu. They had some good stuff for brunch. I ordered the french toast with sausage. I was a little disappointed with what I got though. There was no powdered sugar, they did not provide any syrup (on the side would have been good), and it was generally bland. The sausage patty I am almost certain was the same you could find at the grocery store, Jimmy Dean sausage pattys, they come in 8 packs... Unlike just about anywhere I have had breakfast, including side of the road diners in the middle of nowhere I was not offered a refill on my coffee. I should've asked though because I was double charged for all the drinks at my table. They were only $3 each (the coffee too) so not a big deal. As for ambience the place has a really great vibe and they even had a performer playing spanish guitar. The place got pretty full but I am not sure why. I don't plan on visiting again and I cant give my recommendation for them with this experience but try them out if you will. You may have a better experience. read more

The atmosphere of the restaurant was really great as soon as we walked in, definitely a place for family or even a date night. The service itself was a little slow and I put it solely into the possibility of them being understaffed on Easter Sunday. Chips and salsa handed in the beginning were very good and the green salsa being the little more spicier than the red. The food itself took a bit to come to the table however it was all delicious! A bit of small portions of what I'm used to but it was all mouth watering for every bite that I took. Ordered the chicken Alfredo but have to say it was just alright. The chicken tasted like it was premade then frozen. The Alfredo sauce lacked in the creamy texture and flavor. The broccoli mixed in was steamed but not thoroughly. The "garlic bread" was decent but charred. I know this isn't an Italian restaurant so it's understandable. I went with my mom, her husband and my husband for a family dinner. My mom ordered the chipotle shrimp salad, the server came back and said they were out of the lettuce needed to make her salad. My husband ordered the bbq burger which came with an onion ring, and the server came back another time to say they were out of the onion rings. Then later when I went to the restroom, they were out of hand soap! The server was sweet but it would have been nice if he knew what the kitchen was out of before we placed orders. It was pretty quiet other than three other tables so it's not even like it was busy. Seems like the restaurant is struggling if they can't provide everything on the menu, or at least better communication is needed between the kitchen and serving staff. Won't go here again. The chicken fajitas are excellent on the parillada. The fajitas and ribs are also really good. And they add a few grilled jalapeños with cheese on top to make it completely special. Their salsas are standard and the chips could be thinner but they are good for a quick table side crunch. Background - a year ago we went to the Edinburg location for the Valentine's Day special. It was outstanding in every way, they changed for the evening to tablecloths and the waiters acted - for that evening - like it was a fine dining experience, which it was. The food and atmosphere were perfect. Sadly, this location is now closed, so for this year we went to the Pharr location for their Valentine's Special - $120 for two, (supposedly) including soup/salad, main course, dessert, roses, and choice of bottle of wine or champagne. First, what was good: the steak was very tasty, tender, and done perfectly. The shrimp bisque was not bad at all. The staff were overworked but friendly and doing their best. Second, what was bad but not their fault: the Edinburg location was quiet and suitable for conversation over a special meal. The Pharr location had loud live music with heavily amped up driving bass you could feel in your rib cage, like a low-rider driving by. If you want to say Happy Valentine to your date you'll have to shout or sign it. To be fair, it seems this is their usual atmosphere and the regulars seemed to have no problem with it. If I'd been looking for a $20 burger plate in a sports bar it would've been fine, and the man was a decent musician. My fault for assuming they'd do something different for this special event. Third, what was just wrong. (a) Roses promised as part of package when we made the reservation. Turns out what they meant was, if you pay them for the meal, they will then allow you to buy roses from a street vendor who walks in. We weren't there for flowers but it was wrong to mislead us. (b) The menu and the guy that took the reservation both promised "bone-in ribeye". While the steak was very good, it was not a bone-in ribeye. In fact, no bone anywhere to be seen. Guys, it was some decent cut, just say what it really was, no need to misrepresent it. (c) The other main course was billed as chicken stuffed with spinach and artichoke, with a side of mashed potatoes. The chicken came literally stirred up into the mashed potatoes, there was no evidence of artichokes, the meat was dry and stringy and the mashed potatoes it was mixed with had a mealy texture. Finally, in the spirit of romance, the dessert was one smallish piece of cheesecake with two spoons. Because there were also two dipped strawberries it gets a pass. Just in case you wanted to express your displeasure in some tangible way, they took care to add the gratuity in advance. We ordered nothing extra and the total with tax, fees, etc was $169. This is totally about the service. I was in a party of 6. We were seated and served chips and salsa enough for 2. So, 2/3 of the party didn't get chips and salsa service. We also ordered guacamole, which came out lumpy and hard to dip with the chips. We had asked for separate checks for our party before ordering. But by the end of the meal the server forgot the request and was sent back to recalculate our checks. Finally, after recalculating, the server switched a bill in our party with the bill of another customer at a completely different table, giving us that customer's credit card and giving our credit card to the other customer. Came here based on the positive reviews. The food did not disappoint. Good chips and salsa, and both of us loved our meals (fajita tacos and tex-mex burger). There are so many appealing menu items it was hard to choose. Only downside was the service. Our meals were never checked on and after waiting 20 minutes we ultimately had to flag down our server, who was chatting at the bar, for our check. The employee to table ratio was 1:1 so there was no reason for it. Management needs to work on staff being more attentive. Super cute Mexican grill restaurant with country music! I thought this combination was very unique since we live on the border of south Texas with a big Hispanic background but also a bunch of country loving folks. I personally loooove country music and Mexican dishes so this was perfect for me! Our waiter was very attentive and very polite, as well as the manager. On the grill has gone out of their way to create a keto taco plate using cheese as tortillas. If you are doing keto, this becomes a very attractive option. Obviously the cheese can be a little oily, but in keto that's not an option. I really appreciate their willingness to serve clientele in a way that other restaurants don't. The manager was very kind and explained what was keto friendly on the menu and sent us out some soups as appetizers that were keto friendly. Their other food looked good quality.
