VIP TAILGATING…read more Tailgating is the best part of a Bears home game and it is always fun. As an ex-Nears season ticket holder, I've enjoyed my fair share of standing in this parking lot freezing, while drinking a cold can of beer and eating a hot brat. It's always a blasts but imagine if it was elevated! The Arena Club takes it to the next level. There's no tailgates to sit on here or coolers of icy beer. This is like a skybox on asphalt with bartenders, a live dj and fantastic tailgate bites. I've attended this tailgate party a couple of times over the last three years. The tailgate bites were created by Chicago Culinary Kitchen on location and their food is just amazing. This year they rolled out their bad ass food truck and served up delicious BBQ. We started out with some amazing pork belly covered in honey and BBQ seasoning. After my first bite I realized that I might have died and gone to piggy heaven. They also made a marinated steak sandwich with spicy cherry peppers. It was so good. Next I enjoyed their brisket beef chili topped with Fritos and yes it was chili because it had no beans. Beans make it a stew or a soup. The spice level on the chili was fantastic. Next it was time for seafood. They served up a bbq seasoned grilled shrimps on a skewer. I think we have now reached the surf and turf portion of our parking lot event. My culinary day ended with their Italian Meatball slider with giardiniera. They own the best tailgate food in the parking lot of Soldier Field. Take that Aaron Rodgers! There was also incredible music from The DJ firm. They have a mobile dj on wheels. They roll in and start rocking in minutes. They play a great mix of old school, 80's, hip hop and house music mixes. A bad Dj plays the whole song. This DJ plays 20 songs in four minutes. It's a nonstop dance party in the parking lot once the alcohol starts kicking in. Speaking of cocktails. Tommy's Mexican Restaurant from San Francisco was mixing up their famous margaritas. I also got to meet Chicago Blackhawks legend Chris Chelios. He was serving up his own tequila brand. Cheers to drinking with a legend. They also have a bar serving top shelf liquor, wine and beers. Cheers to enjoying adult beverages in the parking lot. It was a great sunny Oktober day to kick off the Bears game. The Arena Club at Soldier Field is the best tailgate party you'll ever attend. Win or Lose this event is always winning! Unfortunately, the Bears lost to the Packers. Aaron Rodgers even said he owns the Bears but Aaron doesn't own the parking lot. The Arena Club owns the best party in the parking lot. Take that Aaron!!

Ok venue for a concert. The location is right on the lake which makes it a little hard to get too…read more I'd recommend taking public transportation. The drinks are a bit over priced (it's the most I've ever paid for a beer ever) and the seating is just folding chairs zip tied together. There's no GA pit section and I think they can have lawn seats but choose not to for most shows. There's VIP extras but in my option they are not worth it. You'll have more fun in the main seating section which I might add doesn't have obstructions except for the extreme corners. The bathrooms are nice (not port-a-potty style) and the staff is friendly. If it's a band you really want to see, I'd recommend going. If you're on the fence, wait until the band plays at another venue.

Pretty cool venue with some things I didn't love. I went recently for a concert. While I love that…read morethe venue is right off the lake, parking at the actual venue was expensive. It sold out before I could purchase it. The next closest parking option, which was still pretty expensive was $40 at Solider Field North Garage. It was also a 15 minute walk. The actual venue is an experience. There were picnic tables for seating options before you entered and quite a few food and drinking booths. The seating inside was divided into sections - the pit was closest to the stage (standing room only), folding chair options in the 200s and actual seats in the 300s . Even though my seat was a folding chair, it felt sturdy enough and I was comfortable. I did love the big screens up that ensured everyone, no matter your section, could see the show. Please note that there is no reentry so you can't come in and out. Overall, I thought my time at the venue was okay. I would still go back now knowing what to expect.

I've long been a fan of the Goodman, and though I used to be a semi-regular, I've only been here…read moreonce since the pandemic. Until today! Somehow, I learned about a children's production presented through their educational wing. I'm not sure if their education & engagement was this strong in years past or perhaps I simply wasn't dialed into their offerings, but that's definitely changing now. We went to see Splish Splash. This was a 50 minute long story about a blue heron and friends who are seeking to repair the moon after it fell into Lake Michigan. There were songs, there was play, and it was highly interactive. The kids--fellow "sailors", along with three of the cast members--learned a song to sing along at various parts of the show. There were several times when the kids were invited onto the "stage" (it was in one of their lab/classroom spaces, so there wasn't a raised stage) to help or participate. It was so well done, and kept the kids engaged. I really loved how this experience was designed. Upon arrival we were checked in and pointed to one of the classroom spaces. I was surprised because I wasn't sure how actors could be safe there, but it was actually a room for the kids to color and read books or play with toys and stuff before we were taken into the room where the performance took place. I've only seen something that was meant to keep kids busy like that before showtime is at Filament Theatre, and we've gone to kids shows at two or three other theaters by now. It was a great touch. This production was specifically geared toward children aged 0-5, which is atypical and felt so special that it was written with the littlest theatergoers. One of the important pre-show reminders was for adults, reminding us that it's a no-shush zone! I'm so excited that one of the most important theaters in the city, and the oldest non-profit theater still in operation in Chicago, is so committed to developing young audiences in an exciting way and meeting them where they're at. We'll be regulars at their Theatre for the Very Young programs.

Even ChatGPT knew--Gold Coast is the ticket broker supreme!…read more I had 4 VIP Lollapalooza wristbands to sell last-minute from California when my plans to attend fell through. With just one day left before the event, I was desperate and had no idea where to turn. Out of sheer panic, I asked ChatGPT (no eye rolls please, lol) what to do--and when I inquired about a concierge-level, white glove ticket broker, it recommended Dan Finkel at Gold Coast Tickets. Let me just say: ChatGPT nailed it. Dan took really good care of me on price and walked me through the process step-by-step. It was seamless, and the money was in my account the moment he received the wristbands. But what happened next absolutely stunned me: Two of the four wristbands weren't working properly. I happened to be on the phone with Dan when the issue arose--and I overheard him calmly reassuring the new buyers that if anything didn't work, he'd send a courier immediately with replacements. And then... I heard him do exactly that--dispatching two new wristbands to the buyers on the spot. Even though the issue was on my end, Dan handled everything with grace, speed, and total professionalism. He protected the buyers, took responsibility, and made sure everyone was taken care of. This is exactly the kind of Midas-touch, high-integrity, concierge-level service I had asked ChatGPT about--and I got to watch it unfold in real time. If you're looking for someone who handles both buyer and seller with care, fairness, and human kindness, Dan Finkel is your guy. Whether you're in Chicago or anywhere else--go to Gold Coast Tickets. I'm still stunned. And yes... apparently ChatGPT really does know everything. And no--ChatGPT didn't write this review. I did. ;)

I saw magic happen at C2E2…read more I saw a little girl in a princess dress who was waving at a costumed character calling, Mira, Mira. I told the woman that a little girl was trying to get her attention and she turned, then the little girl ran up to her and hugged her. They talked for a few minutes and posed for pictures for her parents, and when she walked away, she said she couldn't believe that she met her favorite K-pop character Mira. This is not the only magical moment that I had at C2E2. What could be better than seeing the mandalorian? A whole row of Mandalorians. This was a very popular costume here. What could be better than a parade of droids from star wars? Absolutely nothing! I saw families dressed up in costumes attending together. There was batman with his two spiderman sons, a father who was Bowser, the mother who was Super Mario and their son who was Luigi. I saw lots of couples who were dressed up together. I took a picture with Snorlax from Pokémon and Godzilla too! Sadly C2E2 is over for this year, but the memories will last for a long time. So if you want to hang out with Batman, the Mandalorian, Catwoman, X-Men, K-pop Demon Hunters and more, make sure to get your tickets to C2E2 2027 early!
