Such a great show! I honestly forgot all about it and thank god I remembered yesterday and bought some tickets! I purchased them online in the morning and got them at will call upon arrival. I was so excited that they were 15 minutes from my town! Parking was easy, 20 dollars later. A shuttle took us to the tent from there. That doesn't mean I didn't spend 15 minutes trying to find my car when the show was over. Typical me. The tent was actually very small, I think any seat would have a nice view. We got super lucky because there was no one sitting behind us so the people in front of us moved and we got a fantastic view of the show! It looked full but they had the option to upgrade seats for 10 bucks when we got there. As always, everything was nice and clean. All the workers were nice and helpful. We were shown right to our seats. Of course popcorn and drinks will cost you your left arm and your newborn child so we decided to skip that. It really was a fantastic show, really moving. Since the tent was small I felt like I was right in the front row. My favorite is always the acrobats. Makes me want to go to the gym and never eat a carb again, but here I am eating tacos and writing this review. I'll just stick to watching these magical humans do what they do. read more

Cirque Du Soleil Volta NJ - Performing Arts Near Me - East Rutherford, New Jersey

I've been a Cirque fan for decades and have seen many versions -- and this show does not disappoint. I'm stingy with 5 stars and this production is worth every one of them in my book. The storyline is straightforward -- in the style of Edward Scissorhands -- with a dystopian future set and vibe -- but that's where the similarity ends. I won't play spoiler -- but omg -- the costuming, music, lighting, acrobatics and stunts are top shelf. Well worth the price of admission if you are a Cirque fan -- or even if you simply admire quality circus stunts wrapped into a 2 hour adventure -- set to excellent music, choreography and staging. Be prepared to spend some cash at the concession stands. Popcorn is $12 -- water another $5 -- drinks upwards of $25 for a double Moscow Mule -- and the souvenirs are astronomically priced. Basically -- they soak you like they would at any other circus. Top Tip: Come early for best parking options ($20 as you pull in) and try to buy seats in the first tier for best views. We were in section 103, row F -- about mid row -- and the view was perfect. If you catch an aisle seat you get to interact with the performers -- great for kids. read more

I always enjoy most Cirque du Soleil performances and always leave feeling amazed. Volta is about a host named Waz, who has been blinded by fortune and fame, but starts a personal quest to find again his true self by going through his memories, after discovering a group of free spirits who encourage him during this process. I related to this wholeheartedly as I'm also on a personal quest of self discovery. Everything from the roller skating, the acrobatic ladders, the tight wire to the hair suspension performance, it was definitely a sight to see. Cirque du Soleil is always a good time. read more

Excellent show!! Highly recommend to all my fellow Yelpers!! Small venue means that every single seat is excellent. It makes for an wonderful engaging event. The performers were phenomenal. That story line and the choreography flowed smoothly. The acts were spectacular. I don't know if I have a favorite I enjoyed it so much. read more

Seriosuly an AMAZING SHOW. I really am not big on sitting through shows but I'm always a sucker for cirque and they never disappoint! The show is inside of a tent so you really can't go wrong with whatever seats you pick. It may seem far on the computer but you see everything perfectly the only annoying part are people's heads but whatever. Also a lot of the seats stay empty and you can upgrade for so cheap when your there or just move to the left or right in your row as we did since it was empty Everything is overpriced as far as popcorn being 12 dollars, water and soda being 5 and nachos being 10 but whatever it's like the movie theaters but less generous with portion size. It is worth the experience. Some of the acts will have you like WOAH!! PARKING IS $20! read more

My wife surprised me with tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil Volta at the Meadowlands, East Rutherford, NJ. First, this show is not to be missed and is suited for all ages, including children! The performances are beyond description; within this review, I will attempt not to divulge too many details as that would erode the element of surprise this show delivers! I will tell you that the (motorized) "stage" is huge, circular in design, which affords an up-front view from any seat. The performers are high energy theatrical professionals, engaging in non-stop daring feats using a combination of high-wire, ramps, ladders, cages, bicycles, and much more delivering a breath taking, fantastic, unique performance! (The audio system is over the top in quality.) The general parking lot is vast, $20 at the gate. (There appeared to be VIP parking near the entry area which I believe is arranged in advance.) Courtesy shuttle buses come and go within the parking area and drop you off near the entrance to the Big Top tent. After the show, buses pull up in sequence outside and drive you back to the parking areas. The line for buses is quite long yet, begin to move as bus after bus is loaded.
