Beginning with the initial meeting to walk through the scope of the project was extremely thorough and detailed. Joseph patiently explained the process and time table of the move. Shortly after the walk through I received a detailed fixed quote that was very fair. I had already spent weeks researching moving companies and their process and did not like what I heard. I was told since I did not have a full house move my items would share a truck with other households and that my items could be transfered to another truck along the route. The potential for lost items, damage and extended deadlines was highly likely from customer reviews. When Joseph explained that the Strong Brothers Moving process was to personally pack all items, load the truck, make the drive and unload at the final destination I knew I found a company I could trust to take care of the move. The morning of the delivery Christian and David arrived early (fine with that!) and introduced themselves and began laying down heavy duty rugs at the garage and front door entrance into the house. David was obviously the foreman and he and Christian worked well together. Very patient and kind with each other especially as they worked the larger items into the house and set them up. They asked for my input throughout the morning on where to place things. They provided an efficient unloading process. The only thing amiss was they couldn't locate my queen bed frame. That was no issue because Nacho delivered a replacement and set up the bed for me. Nacho has been in business for many, many years and I learned that he genuinely enjoys what he does. He wrapped things I told him not to and not just wrapped them but blankets, bands and plastic wrap. When I asked him about it when he walked by me with 5 things that I had told him didn't need to be wrapped, (because it was taking WAY longer than it should) he told me he needed to protect his shins!!! He also claimed that the move was 100 feet from door to truck (not 50 ft as I had told them). Images show how close it was. When I spoke to the office manager after the move and told her how unhappy I was with how this move was handled, she informed me that the person who did the move was the owner and her husband and that he FORBID her to give me any kind of discount. I would love to give Home Run Movers 5 stars because they are very nice but I can only give them 1…read morestar. The first star I deduct is due to their low ball estimate of the time and expense of the move. It ended up taking twice as long and costing twice as much as was estimated. That is $1,000 more than estimated. I did move from a 3rd floor apartment to a 2nd floor condo with several glass tables and mirrors but they knew that when they estimated it could be done in 4-5 hours with 3 movers. It took 9 hours. The second star deduction is that they worked as if they were being paid by the day and not by the hour. They were not slow but they were not fast. I have seen movers who really moved with urgency. Fast movers move quickly on the stairs when they are not carrying boxes. These folks were not fast movers. If they were paying $210 per hour I think they would move faster. They lost another star because I paid for 3 movers and got 2 experienced movers and an 18 year old cousin who had never moved anything. He stood around in the beginning waiting to be told what to do. He also showed no initiative regarding doing what he could be doing. There were times he was checking his phone and taking significant rest breaks. I argued I should pay less because I only had 2 and a half movers but my argument was ignored. They finally lost the fourth star because when I went back to the apartment I found that they had forgotten a 2.5 x 4 foot framed print in the bathroom and also left some of their garbage from wrapping items. There are positive things to say. They were very careful. They called in advance and arrived early. They worked to reassemble tricky furniture. They were also very friendly.
