Do not hire them. Liars and thieves. These company is a ripoff. Northern Moving system hired them ( Best price moving). When the movers show up in my house they asked for more money. The driver from Best price said my inventory did not match with what Andrew/Will from Northern Moving system sold me. Furthermore, my furniture was not delivered on time. The movers cracked the screen of my 65 in TV and broke a dinning chair. The driver Sammy who delivered the furniture, was in a hurry and took my copy of the delivery. I email/ called Mary from Best Price with no respond. Finally, nobody wants to be responsible for my damage furniture and they got away with charging more money along with Northern Moving System. Do not hire them. Run while you can. Otherwise, you will loose lots of money and will end up with broken furniture.

The worse company ever! If I could rate them a zero I would. We booked them through AmeriSafe (don't use them either). Our pickup was in Minneapolis MN and delivery was to West Tennessee. Pickup took 2-1/2 trucks and delivery was only in 2 trucks. What happened to the rest of our items? They didn't know. Best Price would not even try to find our missing boxes using our Bill of Lading number. Every single box they picked up from our home in Minneapolis was marked with the BOL number. They should have been able to track missing items. Upon receipt of our household items in Tennessee, the first thing off the truck was an expensive coffee table broken into several pieces. And there were several boxes missing and an unbelievable amount of broken items and everything was infested with mouse poop. Boxes were chewed through by mice. Cords to electric tools were chewed through. My husband's jewelry box was full of expensive rings and we never received it at all. We had two rechargeable karaoke microphones which we never received. There were missing antique marbles and designer purses and many other miscellaneous items never to be seen again. The cost of our move was over $22,000.00. We expected better service for that price. When we filed a claim we had to go through a company called Anthem Claim Management. We claimed $7,000 in damages (and that is conservative) and they offered $96.00! We did not purchase the extra insurance that they suggested. I'll bet we still would not have gotten anything back. This company is a rip off and everyone needs to stay clear of them!

If I can implore anything it is to please read the fine print. The company gives a quote and then has a laundry list of up charges that can add $1,000+ to your move. They will then hold your items hostage if you don't pay. The day before my delivery they tacked on another $700 - claiming the truck was too big for my neighborhood. They then showed up in a $19.99 a day UHaul rental to make final delivery. The delivery drivers take no care inside someone's home. Left scuffs on my wall and heavily soiled my carpet.

Update (see first review below): It got even worse. They lied to me and told me storage was in a climate controlled warehouse and it wasn't. All my stuff was in a very old metal trailer in the middle of what looked like a junkyard. They also price gouged me on storage fees. They would threaten to sell my stuff. I felt like my stuff was being held hostage. They made it almost impossible to try to get to my stuff. I hired another mover to get my things and the rest that they didn't pack and move like they were supposed to. It took forever for them to return the calls of my new movers and they made it nearly impossible for them to get my stuff and I was on a time crunch as my house had sold and it would cost a lot more to have them move my stuff from the house and storage on separate says. They were supposed to let my movers in at 9 am. The entrance they gave them wouldn't fit a semi. They called and Mary told them she couldn't do anything and hung up on them. They continued to call and she would just hang up. Finally at almost noon they were able to gain access. I'm certain this isn't a moving and storage company but a front for organized crime. Everyone who was present said the same thing. In the middle of the yard was a huge mound of beer cans and chairs around it and evidence of a bonfire. And an Italian man in a very expensive silk suit came out at one point and looked straight out of the Sopranos. This being Chicago and knowing how they have the courts and police on the payroll I doubt there's a thing I can do except to warn others to stay the heck away. My stuff was also in the trailer with someone else's stuff and my stuff was at the back and almost impossible to get to. They had a few weeks notice and did nothing to help this situation. When my stuff arrived in Texas I discovered more of their duplicity and how I was conned even further. As I mentioned in my earlier review I was originally supposed to have a semi and they sent a truck similar to a large uhaul and definitely not a semi. They left over half of my belongings at the house in Illinois and told me I'd lose my money if I used someone else and that I'd have to hire another mover for the rest. I don't know what I'd have done if the house had sold then, but knowing what I know now I should have turned them away and eaten the $3000 deposit. I think most of my stuff would have fit if they had packed correctly. This was another way to scam. They made me buy several of the huge wardrobe boxes and nearly all of them were only 1/4 full or had pillows in them that could have been squished down and I'd even told them not to pack the pillows. They put boxes I'd already packed in other boxes just to charge me for more boxes. Also, you are charged for square footage in moving and storage so using these huge nearly empty boxes obviously added more costs. Also, since they weren't fully packed, the boxes collapsed and stuff was crushed. A move that should have cost me around $13,000-15,000 ended up costing over $35,000 due to having to hire two movers and all the storage fees. And I am a single disabled mom of four. That was more than I made on the sale of my house and I have nothing. I am including pictures of the truck they sent for the original move that wasn't the semi promised and then the pictures of the junkyard and trailer where my stuff was stored for a year in extreme temperatures. Original Review: The move was arranged through Cross Country Movers. I had no choice in who I could use or I would have chosen them. Let me say, ONE STAR IS BEING GENEROUS. I'd use ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE. I'm pretty upset. He's saying it's going to be a lot more than was quoted even though I removed half of the furniture. Im leaving my kids furniture and almost I'm a single mom on disability with heart and kidney failure. For only 500 sq ft more space they want $3000 more than what I paid I was estimated. I'm on a fixed income. They were very rude and short with me. If I had time I'd go with someone else on the basis of horrible customer service. Only one guy was nice and patient with me. But I'd definitely go with someone else over price. It's outrageous. I feel extremely taken advantage of and feel both the movers and the packers were dishonest and misrepresented what was being done and the cost. I'm really just so upset I can hardly write or think through it all. I'm just appalled.

Disaster. On a move to Texas sometime enroute all boxes were broken into and raided for valuables. At unloading electronics were (the ones that made it) dumped into a single large box. Several boxes didn't make it. Military award displays were smashed and the medals cut out. Their insurance company offered $30 for over 2000 dollars in damages. Go with a brand name for a move. read more

I was quoted $3650 for a move from Chicago to Michigan, when the truck was loaded the foreman came back with a move price of $8700!! I complained to the broker and managed to get it back down to $4650, but I still feel that I was ripped off. And speaking of ripped off, after unpacking I discovered that they had been through all of my stuff and stolen all of the jewelry and watches!! DO NOT hire these thieves!! read more

SCAM!!!! Beware this company rips you off! Original Estimate was for 1335 Cu. Ft. All along in our communications with the MOVER (Best Price Moving & Storage) we were assured we were only going to be charged for ACTUAL Cubic Feet utilized and not ESTIMATED. At the time of pick up in Chicago it was REPRESENTED we were using 2,000 Cu Ft of space. And were told we needed to pay the difference*approximately 665 Cubic ft extra. When the truck arrived for delivery, it was packed to under 1,150 Cu Ft of space. A SIGNIFICANT difference of approximately 850 Cu Ft. You can view pictures I took upon arrival of our delivery truck. When I went on the truck to take the pictures the movers asked why I was taking pictures and he answered his own question with "are you not agreeing with the Cubic Footage charged. This tells me this is a common practice in the moving industry and does not comply with any standard of good business practices. This is the difference of being charged for 2000 cubic feet on only using 1150 square. This difference is the 850 Cu Ft X $3.30 $2,805 plus 12% Fuel Surcharge on our Cu Ft by $336 = $3186. WE were over charged $3186. We reported to the company, and the said they would get back to us. Nobody contacted us and every time we called the disconnected us or put us into someone's voices mail. If I could give negative star, I would. This is the absolute worst moving company that I have used. I have reported them to the BBB. read more

Moving from Ohio to Florida, they took our belongings first to Chicago where they held it for weeks and couldn't give us a delivery date. When they finally did contact us to arrange drop off they had suddenly increased their price by nearly $5000. When they showed up at 7 PM on a Sunday they demanded cash. When we couldn't produce it, they took our stuff to storage and told us that after we paid they would reveal it's location and we'd have to get it ourselves. We now have an attorney and complaints with both the Illinois and Florida Atoirneys General offices read more

Worst moving experience ever!!! This company was contracted through Amerisafe moving for our long distance move. They showed up on the day scheduled and said Amerisafe underestimated our move and it would be an additional $5000 to load our belonging. If we wanted to cancel we would lose $7000 from the money paid to Amerisafe. Once they showed up to our new home out of state it was an ADDITIONAL $4000 to get our belongings unloaded. This move went from $17,000 to $26,000. DO NOT USE THEM. Go with a company that knows how to accurately quote a move. Between Amerisafe and this company we felt completely scammed. They are not the best price at all!!! read more

This is a review of our experience and is written to avoid some of the pitfalls I've read from other reviews. #1 Be thorough - For the most part, you are paying per square foot of space on the truck. They are planning out that truck, and the staff to move it, based upon your numbers. If you have even 2 more boxes then estimated for, it causes an issue with space and the price you'll pay. In our case, I provided the measurements for everything we were shipping and added a couple extra boxes to my estimate for good measure. #2 Read the documents. In the case of breakage / damage. Not only did I get the insurance information early, the gentlemen on the morning of our move went over it in detail. Basic included insturance is at $.65# That doesn't cover much of anything. Additional insurance is available to purchase. Yes, I know it sounds kinda shady, but they do not hide the coverage or the cost of it. #3 Be nice. The people showing up for the move are people with a job. They get paid the same regardless of any issues. Have some waters available, be polite to them and appreciate the back breaking work you had no interest in doing yourself. #4 - Be prepared. We had all the boxes stacked in one room and everything cleaned out ready to go. It made it so much easier to count the boxes out and left room for them to prep up our furniture with moving blankets they provided. Also, clear space for them to get in and out without tripping over stuff. If you are living in an apartment buiding as we were, try and reserve space for thier truck. In the end, our move from Wis to Florida went pretty much spot on. Our price was our qouted price. Nothing was damaged, Both teams were very professional and friendly. I only wish they had a way to track our shipment on line so we knew were it was in the process. read more

If I could give negative star, I would. This is the absolute worst moving company that I have used. They are very unhelpful and rude. The woman who answers the phone is the worst person I have ever dealt with. They were hired by me through a relocation agent and right there, it was an issue. I have been given the run around by these people and now I have paid them the majority of the money, they have my household goods and no delivery date in sight. read more

While the movers were great the actual company and customer service is horrible. Please beware of hidden fees. I have not had my things moved yet. I've seen reviews that they damage product. They were outsourced by Amherst National Moving And Storage which I wouldn't do business with then again. Very horrible experience. Let see if my things arrive on time. 6-10 and I still have not recieved my things. I'm not sure how this business is ran. Mary dispatches out to everyone. Why does one person dispatch to everyone? is no one else trained to do this job? read more

We moved from Minnesota to Missouri. Our move ended up costing us $2000 more than the initial quote. We contacted Eagle Movers a contractor, and they arranged for Best Price Moving to pick up and deliver our furniture. Eagle Movers told us everything we wanted to hear to get our business - none of which were true. Best Price was late in picking up our furniture. When they got there, they told us that we were going to have to pay and additonal $1200 because our hutch was 2 pieces (which I had told Eagle Movers) and we had a lift mattress (which I had also told Eagle Movers). The movers did not wrap our sofa and loveseat because they ran out of blankets and cellophane. They told us they would wrap it when they got to the warehouse. Upon arrival at our new location, we found a tear in the loveseat. We filed a claim but the claim was denied because the movers hadn't listed the unwrapped sofa and loveseat on their list so Anthem Claim Management (claim company for Best Price) told us the sofa and loveseat were not moved. Once our furniture had been picked up we were told it would be 3-5 working days before it would be delivered. Ended up being 3 weeks of emailing with Best Price to try to get a delivery date. At one point, they told us that we didn't pay for guaranteed 3-day delivery so they had up to 30 days to deliver our furniture. We were never informed of a 3-day guarantee delivery option. When we arranged for the move, we told them that the place where we were moving would not accommodate a large truck. We were told by Eagle Movers that was not problem as they furniture would be coming on a truck with only one other load. When I tried to confirm that with Best Price, they said that we had not arranged for a transfer to a smaller truck and that would cost us an additional $600. The entire move was a total nightmare. I would suggest that if anyone is looking for a mover, go to a reputable mover and avoid using a contractor. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars. The movers showed up and had an attitude immediately. The first thing William stated was "you're going to owe us more. There's no room in the truck for your stuff." This is after I had gone over the inventory with the moving company 24 hours prior. Afterwards, he continued to complain about a "long haul" and how much more money we would owe him. Avoid Best Price Moving! I had no idea Colonial Van Lines, the company I hired for my move, had subcontracted Best Price Moving and Storage for my move from IL to MI on October 25, 2021. To make the long story short, an entire plastic and see-through box completely disappeared. It was precisely the box I had planned on taking along with me in my car. At one point during the move, I did notice the box was not where I had left it in the room, and when I asked where it was, Best Price Moving's crew said it had already been packed. That box had lots of valuables: several wallets containing old bills, Euros, Canadian dollars, Mexican pesos (of course the currency was not visible from the outside), pricey evening purses, and a lot of family items with great sentimental value. I went to the truck, which was obviously loaded with boxes, but I could not see that particular box. I thought about having them unload the truck but did not want to increase the workload as I was assured it had already been packed in the truck. It clearly was not. That box never reached its destination. Lesson learnt. Next time I will have the moving company unload the truck until my missing box reappears. I still get sick from thinking that they stole my valuable belongings, and it isn't until now, a year later, that I am ready to share this awful experience. Mary at Best Price Moving Customer Service did not help at all despite all my complaints. Colonial Van Lines did not help either. Terrible moving experience as there were other issues that went wrong. read more

The experience of working with Best Price Moving and Storage in Chicago was misleading, elusive, and a lot of work. They providing us with a widely inaccurate quote and assurances it would not change, were very (overly) communicative prior to the pick up, and then when they came to take our things it was clear there was absolutely not coordination with the actual movers and the quote we received meant nothing. They did not handle our furniture with care, and once we had questions about the quote, did not respond to any calls or outreach. Their general emails (I have to assume intentionally) do not work, and the person who had been contacting us about the booking completely ghosted, all while they had our stuff. As the delivery at our new location was being arranged, it was again clear the services did not speak to each other and arrival was a mess. I was gravely disappointed in the customer service and and ethics of this company. I would not recommend them. read more

Worst moving experience ever! They misrepresented almost everything about our move. Packing and pickup were promised for 9-11am with 3 packers. They arrived at 6:30pm with only 2 workers. Delivery was supposed to be within 10 days. Delivery was a month after pickup. They insisted that we pay more than the estimate for the packing supplies, even though they used fewer supplies than the estimate. They never answer the phone and they don't return voicemail messages. Avoid this company, and if you use them, don't believe anything they tell you. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Our overall experience was MISERABLE. The coordination of our pickup and delivery dates were a total disaster. The expected and communicated delivery dates were off by over a month! Every communication we had w Mary was pawned off on someone else claiming "it wasn't her problem or not her department". Upon arrival the driver was rude, unhelpful, and insensitive during the entire delivery. He forgot 6 of our boxes (which he almost unwillingly brought back the next day). We had 8-10 items that were broken during transit. read more

NEVER CONTRACT WITH THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY! We have so many complaints I don't even know where to begin...here are the highlights: - Matched a competitor's bid and gave us a binding interstate moving quote. Then upped our charge by almost 50% when they arrived to load our possessions...without measuring, weighing or comparing items against the inventory list in our binding contract. Movers would not leave their car without us signing new quote. - After loading our possessions and driving off, they called to tell us it would cost an additional $1260 (which they later reduced to $800) to deliver our items due to a "shuttle service" requirement in the delivery neighborhood. Despite having the delivery address from the time of contracting, they only told us of this charge after taking possession of our property...AND we have pictures of other large moving trucks delivering at the same address. - When we refused to pay these additional charges, Mary (who refused to provide her last name or title) cancelled our delivery date and threatened to put our items in storage...and charge us storage costs! - Only by agreeing to pay the increased balance ($3,158 more than our binding quote!) in CASH before delivery, did they reschedule delivery. - Then, they missed their delivery window entirely, not showing up until the next day. I explained that our family had taken time off work and hired childcare to meet them during their delivery window. - When they did finally show up, it was simply a driver, who said he was waiting for crew. When no one else ever showed up, our family had no choice but to unload ourselves. Finally, two hours into the delivery, one guy they found on Craig's List showed up to help. - Despite repeated requests to honor our binding quote and return our $3,158, this company refused to do the right thing or even acknowledge their mistakes. We, of course, have filed formal complaints with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the Better Business Bureau to warn other consumers. RUN FAR AND FAST before ever considering this company! read more
NOT ENDORSED BY THE BBB!! In fact, they have over 126 complaints against them. See my photos of the damage they did (in addition to their horrific and unethical service!) If you look at all of the 5 star reviews, they are written on or about the same day, reviewers have only one review, and use similar writing samples. Accordingly, you should see that like these reviews, the company is equally as fake. First of all, they forged the truck weight. I only saw this after I had filed a formal complaint with the BBB. But let's back up just a tad... They came to do an estimate of my items and I was quoted at $1350. Well, I ended up selling half of my items to include getting rid of the bed, couch, and living room furniture. I called Best Price and they said they would send someone to redo my estimate based on my new items. They never showed up. I even mentioned it to the movers when they arrived and they said they would weigh it. Again, I never got the truck weight. During transit, I was told multiple dates when the items would arrive. Each day, I would submit leave from work and haul back home only to find out the truck man was not there. I called multiple times to get a straight answer from Best Price only to be left on hold for so long I would get fed up and hang up. I was devastated when I got a call from the driver saying "I'm here! I'm here! Hurry up!" Mind you I live in DC and the area if very narrow. The trucker dropped all of my things on the sidewalk ON EASTER SUNDAY (despite being told by Best Price they don't deliver on Sundays). I demanded the driver move my items up the stairs and into the house. he said "extra fee... extra fee". I told him, no and showed him the contract which clearly stated I got so many stairs for free. He told me to go f8ck myself. Luckily, DC police came because the man was blocking traffic. The Police officer was very helpful in assisting me. In fact, the police officer mentioned that the driver's tabs on his vehicle were expired so he should hurry up and move because he was facing a ticket (obviously the cop took pitty on me). The whole time, the driver would fling my items up the steps meanwhile cursing at me!! After he left, my guests from EASTER SUNDAY helped me unpack my items. We made a list of multiple broken items. I filed with Best Price for reimbursement. The check never came. I've filed multiple reports with the BBB who said I was due a refund. In fact if you look at the BBB, they will state that this business is not in good standing!! BEWARE OF THIS RIP OFF JOINT!!! **Update** I posted this same review on another site that reviews moving company. Best Price Moving & Storage contacted them and literally had them remove my review because they stated I was never a customer. I have news for anyone who doubts I truly used this company - I still have the receipts and paperwork which I will NEVER throw away because I am still waiting for them to pay me back for all of the damage and emotional agony they caused me. If you still doubt it, my order number was 2111 and my first point of contact was Brian followed by Alex. **Update 9/23** I received an email from the owner stating this: "Thank you for your review of best price moving and storage, I would like to offer you $100 for the removal of this review. Please email us online if you choose to accept." I will NEVER remove this review! Everyone needs to be warned about this rip off joint. **Update 10/16** This f'n company took my review down AGAIN saying I wasn't a customer. They are hell bent on continuing to RIP PEOPLE OFF. BOO ON YOU, BEST PRICE! read more

ALERT-AVOID THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE STRAIGHT-UP CRIMINALS. This company checks off everything you should avoid when moving-- they have played every scam trick in the book with us during our move and have been a nightmare, including fraudulent weight charges twice when billing us that amount to almost $2,000 of overages. We chose them because they supposedly had a good standing with the BBB and have been accredited since 2015, but there's no way they could be above an F rating based on how they run their business. Here's a rundown of some of the issues we had with them in our cross-country move: Best Price never saw our items, they merely matched a bid from another company. Upon showing up, the entire list of items that we had was inflated--they listed 3 sofas, multiple bookshelves and other items that were never part of our move. When we informed them of this, the driver told us that it didn't matter since everything was based on weight The movers were rude and upon picking up stuff; condescending to us saying they've been moving for 18-years when we asked about moving protocol and our contract rather than answering our questions. I told him I didn't feel comfortable signing the paperwork without answers, but he told us that none of the papers were any different from what we've already gone over (this has turned out to be untrue according to them now as they are claiming we signed a binding contract to the prices shown when we were overtly told by the driver that they were strictly estimates and would fluctuate up or down based on final weight of goods). Someone from BP called and said they would arrive between 3-5pm, then the movers showed up at 12:30pm and acted like they were in a hurry to start (rushed us to finish packing which led to a bit of chaos), and simultaneously rushed us through filling out paperwork. Driver insisted that we sign documents that were incorrect (address, items listed/estimated, box count, weight estimate, etc.) and told us that it was only an estimate and that no one even used that form anyways. Again, he reiterated that only the final delivery and weight papers actually mattered, which is what everyone would go by for price at the end of the move. They tried to charge us $100 for supplies when we self packed, insisted on taping everything which was unnecessary so he could charge for tape and shrink wrap (we disputed this and this charge was removed). They didn'tot count boxes until after they had our boxes; other 2 moving guys were taking boxes away while we were still filling out paperwork. I kept telling him I didn't want to sign papers with incorrect information as it is a legal contract but he told me none of the information on there "really mattered" and basically told us that if we did not sign then and there they would not help us with our move (we were closing on our house 2 days later). Also, they decided there that at drop off we would have to pay cash to the driver and that credit cards were not an option in CA (we confirmed this is not true), so we paid by credit card. The driver also informed us that the next driver could charge for taking our goods up stairs to our apartment when all along they have known we are on the second floor and were never told anything about extra charges for stairs in our bid or contract; driver said that anything over 12 stairs is game for being charged just depends on "whether the driver that day feels like being a dick". They did try to charge us an additional $500 on the spot to take the items up stairs, to which we declined, meaning we delivered the 100+ items up to our apartment ourselves. They took our things and never followed up on an ETA for delivery until our moving broker was finally able to get ahold of them (delivery driver in CA told us he didn't even pick up our stuff until 2 days before delivering to us, meaning the items sat in Chicago for 2+ weeks). Best Price claimed weight came in at exactly 1000 lbs over the bid, which seemed suspicious since we had already told the driver that the weight up front seemed high for the amount of goods we had We set up time for a re-weigh in Oakland to contest final weight: before delivery, told us to meet at 7am and was substantially late (3 hours to be exact), costing us time waiting as well as 2 trips over the bridge for the re-weigh. And guess what? The re-weigh confirmed our suspicion that we were being over-charged and came in 1600lbs less than what we were billed for, which is a difference of almost $2000 that they charged us. The driver (independent contractor hired by BP) acknowledged the huge weight discrepancy (he was the one who called out the difference of the up front weight to what we were actually billed for) and told my husband that the moving company was going to really "run us through the ringer" over a price dispute. read more

DO NOT BOOK YOUR MOVE WITH THIS COMPANY!!! Our whole move, from Michigan to Nevada, with this company has been a complete NIGHTMARE!!!! Here are the issues we had: 1. 8 pieces of our furniture were damaged, some beyond repair. 2. The cost of our move MORE THAN DOUBLED! 3. They claim all labor is included but in our bill we paid $1900!!! 4. The company called me the night before they were supposed to arrive and said the needed to push us back 1 day because another job took too long. We had to negotiate with our buyers to let us stay an extra day. The dispatch simply said they would be there a day late or they would give us a refund of the deposit. This would have left us without a moving company the night before we were supposed to move across the country. There was no apology or discount given for this inconvenience. 5. Best Price moving company was the actual company that moved our items. They came in with their own boxes, took our personal items that had already been packed and put them in their boxes only to charge an extra fee. We had their own personal trash packed in with our stuff. No joke, drink bottles, napkins, etc. 6. The guy who was driving the truck called and said, based off google maps, he didn't THINK he could fit the truck through the gate into our community. There was no attempt even made and there are 2 other gates he could have come through. We tried to explain this to him be we were met with complete disrespect and were told we had to pay an additional $1300 to move our stuff onto a smaller truck. At this point, we were at their mercy because they had our stuff and it was a Saturday. I checked with our HOA, on Monday, who said in over 3 years, they had NEVER had the issue of an 18 wheeler fitting through the gate. 7. The guy in charge, Mario, was so disrespectful and unprofessional. He was yelling at me, telling me I needed to tell them where to put the furniture. I was trying to explain to him that I didn't know what piece of furniture it was because it was covered in blankets. He interrupted and talked over me, so loud that my husband came in from outside because he could hear what was going on. My husband had to yell at him to leave me alone, but that didn't stop him from yelling at me again to move my car as I'm already walking with keys in hand to do so. The other men who were working with him, apologized to me and I overheard 2 of them saying they were going to complain about him after they got paid for the job. 8. We have multiple items missing, including patio furniture cushions, tools, a ladder, and at least 1 box of personal items. Filing a claim for the missing/damaged items is pure torture. I'm currently in the process and I'm sure it will take weeks if not months. Of course, they want receipts, 2 estimates for repairs, etc. The movers kept saying "it wasn't us" as piles of damaged furniture were being collected in our front yard. Please, learn from our mistake and move your stuff yourself through a POD or rent a U-Haul. We will never again use a moving company because of this one experience. Save yourself the money, heartache and disappointment. read more
As Mrs. Harry F., I'm going to add my review, too. Why? Because they caused a special hell, just for me. These movers are such unprofessional clowns. This happened about three years ago, and I still have nightmares. I still have broken things. I'm still missing stuff. This isn't the first time I've moved, but this is the biggest move I've ever undertaken (Detroit to Los Angeles). I also had two big dogs, a toddler, and a case of stress-induced hives. I wasn't around for the load-up, but Harry was. There was never an inventory taken. He says it was a free-for-all stuffing of the truck. Boxes were numbered serially and tagged with our lot number, but we were never provided an inventory. It was just random tags, as far as I'm concerned. Harry told me he had to argue to get the everything on the truck (even though we had an estimate taken). After the truck left, I returned to my old house and find things that didn't make it on the truck. My floor lamp is smashed in the garage. The truck was reloaded in Chicago. I don't know why. Finally, our truck arrived in LA. The driver stayed in the cab, and shouted to the four illiterate goons unloading the truck. Let's be clear here - I am an ESL teacher, and well-seasoned in communicating with non-native speakers. They couldn't/wouldn't tell me what language they were speaking. I had never heard it before in my life. The driver told me they spoke Hebrew, but it wasn't true. The guys were either completely illiterate, or unwilling to be helpful. I'm guessing the latter. I couldn't even number the boxes and rooms with your normal Arabic numerals. Everything was flying off the truck without an inventory. They were done when the truck was empty. So, four men literally throwing and stacking boxes to the ceiling, in any room they could. They didn't plan how they were going to unload, and my living room was quickly filled without a path to the rest of the house. Still juggling my toddler (trying to keep him from getting crushed under the towers of boxes), I tell them to move the boxes into the correct rooms. They start pushing and kicking stacks of boxes over. I go out to complain to the driver. He's on his cellphone, and waves me away. The guys loading in the house don't care if I point to this or that room, they continue to just dump things anywhere. Again, there is no inventory. While I'm outside, one goon throws my vintage Heywood-Wakefield nightstand end over end. There is no one to catch it, he is just throwing things overhand onto the lawn. It lands with a crunch. Both of the legs are broken off. I look inside the baby's room and there's nothing there. I spot the crib and mattress in the kitchen. Yes. The kitchen. I tell the guys to put it in the baby's room. I am looked at with blank stares. I point, gesture, and start to move it myself. I show them to put it together, and first they shake their heads no. I emphatically shake my head YES, part of our contract is assembly of furniture. As I stand there, one takes a box cutter to my son's mattress, slashing it open to get the packing tape off. He smiles and continues. There are razor cuts all along my son's mattress, and they try to deny that they just did it. I was standing right there!! The driver is now outside, ordering the guys to move the rest of the stuff on the lawn into the garage. No! These boxes are all for the house! He tells me there is no room and they are out of time. Everyone starts grabbing boxes and throwing them in the garage. I'm exhausted and stressed out. I go to sit on my vintage Danish modern chair, which they set up in the living room. Except they didn't put the slats back in the bottom of the chair (the slats are still missing, btw). I fall through the cushion, while holding the baby. My ass hits the floor, while my lower back slams against the bottom rail of the chair. The guys laugh and shrug at me, like I'm stupid. I am crying in pain. I snap a photo with my cellphone. It's already starting to bruise. At this point, I call my husband, beyond irate. He can't make it right then, he's busy at work. I am left on the living room floor, surrounded by boxes that belong anywhere else in the house. Bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, garage, living room, office... almost all of the boxes are in this room. I peek in the bathroom: kitchen, linen closet, garage.... in the master bedroom: bathroom, baby, kitchen.... etc etc. The garage holds an equal hodgepodge of boxes and furniture. I just sit and wait for it all to be over. After awhile, Harry does come home and argues with the driver for awhile. You can read his review for how that all turned out. As we unpacked, I started missing things. I lost a few kitchen boxes. I have someone else's silverware, but there is no lot number or identification I can find. I wonder if they have my kitchen things. I doubt it is that clear-cut. There's more to this story, but there's a length limit... read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I had a terrible experience with this moving company, Best Price Moving, from start to finish. Ironic that they call themselves "Best Price Moving" when they're going to nickel and dime you and you're going to end up with the worst price you could find compared to anywhere else, but they'll quote you at what you think will be a great cost. If you get a quote from them, expect to pay TRIPLE that, minimum. Their only real skill is being con artists and finding any way to keep charging you for the tiniest things. (Ex: for packing paper, when they were using MY packing paper at my home.) I made the mistake of using a broker to find a moving company, and this is the company they picked for me... I wish I would have known this would be the company so I could have seen their reviews and cancelled my move with them. When the movers arrived at my place, the lead mover was brash and rude. He spent more time trying to find reasons to upcharge me, which slowed down the move between the other movers doing all the labor on their own. I had to triple check the list of items that they had for me, and they would put double of furniture pieces to charge me more which I had to tell them to go back and correct. I was moving out of a one-bedroom apartment with minimal furniture, not too difficult to mess that up. The delivery process was a million times worse. I was told that they give a 24-hour notice before they deliver. They did not honor that. Their delivery driver called me at 8 pm on a weeknight, and I let it go to voicemail because I don't answer unknown numbers after typical business hours. When he left a voicemail, I call him back and he says sternly "Hello?" without introducing himself, super awkward and unprofessional... where I had to introduce myself and let him know that I am the customer he just called one minute ago. He told me he wanted to deliver at 8 am the following morning, so less than 12 hours notice. I had already been waiting for over 2 weeks for my furniture, so I told him that it was fine. I was annoyed he called so late as a customer, and he gave me a snarky "do you have a problem with that?" He also told me that he might need to take a shuttle which will cost me $300. Typical they keep up charging but "it's in the contract" that they barley even give you a minute to look over without pressuring you to sign. They ended up coming 4 hours late at almost noon the next day. The minute the two of them arrived was a nightmare. He demanded $300 IN CASH while smoking cigarettes in my garage. He said if I can't give him cash, he could "dump all my things 72 feet away and I can bring it in all by myself" I called their office to ask about other payment options, and he yelled at me in my home that I am calling him "sketchy" and he doesn't appreciate that. I let him know I don't feel comfortable and that I don't understand this type of business practice. This was a company move for me for a work relocation, so I couldn't provide cash right on the spot. When he started the move, he asked me if I had a kitchen knife he could use. What??? I told him my kitchen stuff is in the boxes. He didn't come prepared with a utensil to unwrap/cut the tape around the padding on my fragile items that the first movers packed. What movers don't have moving tools?? He was irritated that I didn't have more tools for them to use. He used my kitchen scissors and the two of them had to share which made the move take even longer, and now my nice kitchen scissors are so dull I have to buy new ones. He made me feel so uncomfortable, and I am a single woman living alone. He continued to intimidate me and get into my personal space, making me so uncomfortable in my own home. He acted like I was inconveniencing him by moving my furniture in... He brought someone else's 2 chairs inside and I let him know those were not mine. He questioned me saying "are you SURE they're not yours?" Are you kidding me? I think I would know what furniture is mine or not. They also left items behind when they moved my things into a shuttle. I asked if I could receive the items that are missing and he said "Do you really need them that bad? Do you really want it?" What kind of question is that? I moved it, so obviously I want it. I asked him to bring it, and he never returned, so now I have to buy replacement for the items I lost. He continued to degrade me, interrupt me, and try to intimidate me the entire time he was moving my things and threatening me to sign my paperwork immediately and said rude things when I was going over it carefully reading the fine print. When they left, they left the place a mess and left their gross trash behind. I cannot believe the people that are working at this moving company, it was a horrible experience. I have friends and family who are also preparing for moves, and told them about my experience and they're spreading the word to stay AWAY from Best Price Moving. read more

If I could rate them no stars, I would. Seven of my boxes and two of my beds did not make it to my new home. I was told that they had found the beds (I haven't received them yet) but that the reason I didn't get all the boxes listed on the bill of lading was that the manager of the warehouse had condensed the number of boxes because I had food in them which I was not supposed to have. A) I had some food, but not seven boxes worth. B) How did the manager know there was food in them? None of the other boxes listed the contents. C) Who gave the manager permission to open my boxes? D) I was never given a list of things they would not move. If I wasn't supposed to have food, why didn't someone tell me rather than packing and moving it and then telling me? I requested a lot of picture boxes, but only five of my pictures were packed into picture boxes (three boxes for five pictures.) The rest of the pictures were crammed into boxes, scratching frames and breaking the glass in one frame. Boxes on the bill of lading were misidentified. One of the picture boxes was listed as "bed parts." I was told my furniture would arrive between 8:00 and 11:00 am. It was almost 2:00 pm before the movers arrived. When I asked the men to put together three beds (which was part of the contract) one bed frame was put together incorrectly and the headboard on the other one was put on backwards. The third frame never got put together. A large coffee table, a desk, and an antique chest were damaged. Several smaller things were broken. read more

I had a move scheduled for this pass Tuesday 4/11/2023 , I was wrongly quoted from one there representatives that work at the company for one price and once the movers arrived and did the main inspection on my items they came up with a additional $2100 extra on top of the $1992 which = $4092 I told the guy it was unaffordable for me and I would have to cancel and get my money back returned a refund he stated there's no refund, how could you just take someone money and didn't do anything. The other young lady who rushed me into signing the contract and going over everything didn't mention anything about a no refund policy....I need my deposit returned I don't have money to give away or blow away I'm not rich, this place I wouldn't recommend plus I got a racist vibe from the movers because I'm a African American woman I'm just not clear on how people just get over on scamming people out of there money honestly I just think they didn't want to do the work and I had a little more items boxes and totes etc from kitchen, bathroom, and personal items also not in the picture. .Darlene C. read more

*DO NOT HIRE BEST PRICE MOVERS OR ALWAYS AFFORDABLE MOVING BROKERS.* I recently moved from Chicago to Seattle. After contacting several brokers, Always Affordable seemed to offer the best price with good client satisfaction. I could go on for paragraphs about how unreliable, unresponsive and unhelpful Always Affordable ended up being once my items were picked up, but I'll save you those details and only discuss Best Price as a moving company. Prior to Best Price's arrival to pick-up my items, the broker and I had discussed the 4 flights of stairs they would need to use in order to move my items. The heaviest, and largest item (my 3 pc. vintage dresser) was in a storage unit 3 stairs below grade - so that was an easier item to load. Other than that, I had NO large pieces of furniture: only a lightweight table, lightweight headboard, small side table and a nightstand plus a bunch of boxes. Upon Best Price's arrival, several of the movers decided they were not going to help with the move due to the number of stairs. Already an unacceptable beginning to the process. The movers that did help were fast, but VERY careless with my furniture. Both my sister and myself saw them knock my headboard and table against both ceilings and walls while carrying them out. I then walked downstairs to see one of the movers trying to drag my very heavy 3pc. dresser out of the storage unit by himself - LITERALLY DRAG on its side. After explaining to him this was a recently re-finished vintage dresser, he asked for help from another mover and seemed to take better care of it on the way to the truck. So my hope was that level of care would continue. Boy was I wrong. My items were delivered 2 days ago to my new apartment in Seattle. Upon delivery, the mover asked for my payment of the remaining 50% in order to start bringing everything in. First red flag! I was very uncomfortable with this and told him I'd prefer to pay once all my items were inside the apartment, at which point he told me he would look at the check, attach it to his paperwork, and leave the payment on the counter until everything was in. So I agreed. As the furniture started being carried in, I noticed EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF FURNITURE that was coming through the door was SEVERELY DAMAGED. Not just a scratch here or there, SEVERELY DAMAGED - some pieces completely ruined. So much so, that the mover who was delivering everything locally said "I've never this much damage in one delivery before." I believe the pictures speak for themselves... Most of these damages are not just accidental. They show complete carelessness and disrespect for my items. As my co-workers joked, "a drunk college kid could have done a better job at moving your stuff safely." After all of this, there is basically no recourse I can take. Not only was every single person I spoke with unapologetic, I was directed to a claims department who I was told was a direct entity of Best Price. This claims company is actually a 3rd party and only allows you to file a claim via mail (nothing can be submitted digitally or via fax). This process alone can take months to receive a max of $0.60/lb per article - which will basically cover none of this damage. Additionally, the broker, Always Affordable, was also extremely unapologetic and told me that this was a carrier issue and they were not liable for any damages. I understand this is what I signed to in a contract, but if I am hiring a broker who is responsible for hiring a sub-contracted company, then those sub-contracted companies they are hiring should be reliable, and Best Price is clearly not. I will be filing claims as well as complaints with agencies such as the BBB. The level of damage to my furniture was beyond unacceptable. I would highly recommend against using this company. read more

UPDATE: Mary the rep was obnoxious, rude and a liar. Threatened me to pay via credit card and said if i dont sign I dont get my things. She then sent another form and raised the price by 650. I signed just to get my stuff and was then told it was cash only. She did this in purpose knowing banks were closed on a Saturday. Items were picked up on 7/13. The driver underlined and said Id get in no less than 14 days. Its now 8/8 and look at the pics of how I packed them and how they arrived. They are disgusting scam artists and a class action lawsuit and talks with local politicians will occur. Absolutely horrible! My items were picked up in Chicago and they only need to deliver 700 miles away. They told me it would be there the next week so I took the week off. Never heard from them. Called numerous times and no response. 15 days have passed and now I am told MAYBE it will be delivered next week which outs this move over 21 days MAYBE. I have items being moved by another company from California and my things arrived in 5 days! This is the worst customer service (called 11x and not one call back) and moving company ( they jacked up the price upon pick up) I relocate often because of my job and have never had a more horrific experience. This was such a small move and has cost me thousands in inconvenience with time off work, no clothing, etc. AVOID this company and shame on First National Van Lines for brokering out this company that has so many awful experiences. Way too many others to give these guys business. Zero stars read more

WORST MOVERS EVER! They were 3 days late and then kept my furniture for 3 wks before they delivered it. A lot of stuff broken due to poor packing. The new owners of my house was there when they picked up my furniture & then some tools & an engagement ring came up missing from the new owners & the Police were called. The company never paid for their missing items & now they are taking $1000.00 out of my damage refund to pay for the insurance deductible. I am telling everyone to never use them read more

The worst moving experience I've ever had. Upon pickup, the movers left a huge mess of trash in my apartment and used the bathroom and left urine on the seat. They were rude and not personable. Upon delivery, almost every single box I had was damaged. Some were simply destroyed. When I mentioned this the delivery driver replied, "so??" The driver was also cursing and rude to me because a neighbor's car was parked somewhere that he wanted to park, despite me having no control over that. Several items were damaged. I had to point out to one of the movers that he had loaded a dolly full of boxes with a box clearly marked fragile on the very bottom and also upside down. He tried to argue with me about if the box was actually upside down. I had to contact them several times to get my items to arrive in my delivery window, otherwise they would have been late. The customer service lady, Mary, was also incredibly rude and not helpful. read more

ALL Our Belongings Stolen! Yes everything. These people showed up at our door in California 19 days ago to handle our move. Apparently Colonial Van Lines had subcontracted Best Price to handle our move and we were not informed until they arrived 2 days before our house sale closed. Colonial subcontracting the move is a violation of Federal DOT regulations since they didn't inform us they were acting as a broker. Google the FMCSA if you're in a similar situation and want to file a federal complaint Getting back to Best Price... I should have known they were trouble when they showed up in a rented Penske truck. They didn't bring a Colonial or one of their own. They were late also They looked and acted like gypsy movers. They just threw together anything that wasn't boxed yet. When packing was done at all, it was completely sub-par with no padding and minimal tape on the boxes. These folks showed up with too small a truck to pick up both our house and our storage bin also. They had to come back the next day with another truck. They showed up 4 hours late for THAT also. We were also never given an opportunity to see the truck weighed. That's another DOT violation So they left with a two day head start on us to Tennessee and 19 days later, there's NO sign of our property. Per DOT rules on driving limits, it should have taken 5 days to get here to Tennessee. We have NO idea where our property is. Stories keep changing. We've been told everything from the movers were stopping to help other movers along the way, our property is sitting in Chicago WHILE THE MOVERS VISIT FAMILY, and it's still SOMEWHERE back in California after almost 3 weeks. Nothing but "too bad, not our problem, the contract delivery date wasn't binding". Why the hell was it in writing then? Tens of thousands of dollars worth of household goods; appliances to family pictures and heirlooms, all gone. The ONLY thing we've gotten is finger pointing back and forth between Colonial and Best Price while nobody takes any steps to make things right. NEVER, EVER use this company. Warn everyone you know to stay FAR FAR FAR away from them. We've reported them to the FMCSA, law enforcement at all levels, the state departments of consumer affairs in every state our property should have passed through, have filed a claim with our insurance company so that their corporate lawyers will go after them, and are looking at civil lawsuits for breach of contract and failure to act in good faith among other issues. read more

I had the worst most unethical experience of my life with Best Price Moving. To make things concise for the reader who wants the bottom line, They showed up two days late at 6:00 pm which required us to do some of the packing we hired them as our schedule couldn't slip any further. They changed the contract, while verbally telling me it was the same, legally overcharging me by over $2400. The movers yelled at my girlfriend because there were too many screws in my bed to disassemble, smoked in front of me while signing the contract. These guys do not deserve to be in business. I worked with a moving broker called Northern Moving Systems, and "Best Price Moving" was contracted to both pack and move my stuff. I did not have time to verify reviews of "Best Price Moving" and I didn't know who was coming until the day of the move. Northern Moving Systems quoted a 1080 cubic foot estimate which his the contract I signed. They also provided a 1500 cubic foot estimate contract I didn't sign. The whole time Northern Moving Systems assured me that with their contract I would only pay for what was moved. BUT "Best Price" Moving showed up TWO DAYS LATE with a different contract for a 38% overestimated contract for 1500 cubic feet, I told them I only asked for 1080, and they verbally told me that the price would go down with what was shipped. They arrived at 6:00 PM with two hours of time to pack, I foolishly decided to believe them and not waste my time hiring a contracts attorney to look over this new contract. In the end they moved 1080 cubic feet but still charged me the EXTRA $2400+ for 1500 cubic feet. I've been told that by their lawyer that the contract they had me sign nullified my previous contract, and that it was the same as buying something from Walmart (contracts law is not). I will be talking to my own lawyer to find out. Northern Moving talked with them too to allow me out of the contract and were frustrated as well with their unethical behavior. I hope they don't ever hire them again, but I blame them both for this read more

We brokered our move from Chicago to North Carolina through First National Van Lines. We were appointed the local firm, Best Price Moving & Storage. I was skeptical based on the reviews, but Channon was very helpful and thorough with our inventory, and First National Van Lines was firm with our agreed upon pricing, and ensured there were no surprise costs. The movers did an excellent job. Our items arrived later than expected (due to Covid and protests) but the movers were very kind, all items were delivered, and nothing was broken. read more

DO NOT USE! DON'T EVEN WASTE YOUR BREATH ON A PHONE CALL. The pick up went great. Angelo and crew did good. They picked up on Friday July 12, our first available drop off date was July 16, it's now July 29.I've inquired about delivery as we still don't have our stuff and they have yet to respond. Their lack of response makes me think these reviews are accurate. Update: So our stuff eventually arrived. It came in an enterprise moving truck since they coordinated the move with a company who is just as bad. The guy that dropped our stuff off had to find his own moving crew from Craigslist. It's like you book with them and they send it off to another company you know nothing about. They broke my husbands motorcycle, glass tabletop, and put a dents and dings in other things. We tried filing a claim but they said since we signed the proof of delivery it wasn't valid. Funny thing is, we don't have proof of that! First off go whatver yourself, secondly stop doing shady business. I'm ashamed of myself for falling for the kindness of your sales rep. I hope others don't do the same. To say they are unprofessional would be an understatement. STAY AWAY! FAR, FAR AWAY! read more

DO NO HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!! I was tricked into using this company due to a broker ( who lied about their broker status). 1st they came to pick up 2 and a 1/2 hours late from the original time scheduled, Then the original estimated cost was increased due to the amount of items I had and packing supplies but they guaranteed me that they would estimate me on a high amount but reimburse me that never happened. My items were picked up on April 29th and then sat in a warehouse in Illinois for 3 weeks and did not get delivered till may 18th, when originally I was told 6 to 10 days. They lost some of my belongings and I have been trying to call for 2 weeks now to get ahold of what was lost to track it down and I'm getting sent to voicemail and given the run around. Customer service NON EXISTENT.....STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!! read more

These crooks are really good at what they are doing but trust me all of what they are doing will catch up with them and may just happen by lil ole me that has all the time in the world to do the research to find out what consumers can do to put crooks like these out of business it may take some time but with persistence I think we can get legislators to change things around. There are more than enough war stories on line about these cheaper companies and their stealing, damaging and jacking up prices to maybe some way somehow file a class action suit against them who's game? consumers like all the innocent ones including myself that trusted them. Quick snap shot of my story they deliver my things without my approval I didn't find out until a week later that my things where put in a storage unit in nj. I was in a state of shock when Mary the girl who acted like an angel in the beginning turn into a unprofessional, conniving, insensitive in the end. I shall never forget the day that I call Mary excited to tell them that they could take the money out of my account for the move and that I wanted my furniture and personal belongings moved that's when she dropped the bomb on me she told me that my things were already in nj I was in a fog for several minutes trying to catch up with what she was actually saying when it dawned on me that she was actually telling me my things were here in nj then I thought and asked where are they thats when she said they are at an undisclosed location I thought undisclosed location what are you all doing holding my belonging hostage she told me that they had already been delivered I thought already been delivered I don't have my things thats when she dropped the mother load on me she told me that in order to get my things deliver she quotes "AGAIN" I would have to pay after the 2300.00 dollars that I had just paid another 800.00 dollars for them to and she quotes "REDELIVER". I was distraught I couldn't believe what I was hearing and how hard it was for me to come up with the 2300.00 dollars I was afraid that my son and I would have to continue to sleep on the floor. At this point she began to tell me that I could find a local mover to move my things in for less than 800.00 I then told her but I already paid you all to move my things and you brought to nj unbeknownst to me and now I have no Idea where my things are and how I will be able to get them. Mary was her true self rude argumentative, nasty and cold as ice she tried to convince me that I told her to bring my things here I told her that she was a bold face lie and she knew it when we are both on the phone and she could hear in my voice that I had no earthly idea that they had move my things. I was distraught and livd like most people that go threw this I felt helpless like their was no one to turn to and no one to make them pay for what they had done and all the terrible things that have happened since. As if going threw it with them wasn't enough I dealt with the next company that I had to beg borrow and steal to get my things and once again I was lured into them desperate to get my thing which these crooks play on. More about my experience with them later what best price didn't tell me was that a lot of my things are missing. I counted 18 plastic bins and boxes missing. All my winter clothes gone, all my son's winter clothes gone all of my son's baseball uniforms with his name and number on the back gone, my new HP Printer gone, my new Back Up System gone, my son baby blanket gone priceless and non replaceable, my leather coaches torn with glue from the them taping the leather with adhesive tape. my TV stand top table missing now it sits on this ugly Ass board, my stove dented, my washer not working destroyed and god only knows a times goes by what I will go too look for and then realize that IT WAS IN THE LOOT HEIST FROM BEST PRICE MOVING AND STORAGE. I LOVE HOW YOU GUYS STEAL/LOOSE PEOPLES BELONGING'S DAMAGE PEOPLE BELONGING'S JACK UP PRICES, DON'T LEAVE CUSTOMER'S A BILL OF LADEN THANKS FOR TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE FACT THAT I WAS DESPERATE TO MOVE AND DIDN'T REALIZE THAT I WAS SIGNING MY LIFE AWAY AND DID NOT RECIEVE NOT ONE COPY FROM YOUR MOVERS OR MAYBE I DID AND THAT WAS STOLEN ALONG WITH THE REST OF MY THINGS THAT WERE RUMAGE THROUGH. THANK YOU FOR STEAL/LOSING MY SON'S CHILDHOOD TRAIN SET THAT IS WORTH OVER 2000.00 MY SONS BASEBALL JERSEY WITH HIS NAME AND NUMBER THAT WILL BE WORTH SOMETHING ONE DAY HOW DOES A PARENT PUT A DOLLAR AMOUNT ON THAT? THOSE ITEMS MEMORABILIA THAT IS UN REPLACEABLE AND PRICELESS TO A HARD WORKING BASEBALL PLAYER LIKE MY SON. THANK YOU FOR LEAVING ME BROKE AND ON THE FLOOR MAXING OUT MY CREDIT CARD PAYING FOR A NEGLIGENT SERVICE Each time I call MARY she continues give me the run around well guess what unlike some of you that have posted here I don't have a job which gives me alot of time to research ANYONE READING THIS read more

When movers showed to pick up destination. They showed up with what looked like a large Uhaul truck. Told them it was not going to fit all of my items. I could have rented a Uhaul. Originally told & explained to Colonial that needed a large truck. They assured me I would. At the end of the day, it did not fit all of my items, told they could bring another truck but would cost me & it would be a day or two. I was leaving out of state on the night of pick up. I rented that house & other tenants were moving in. I end up leaving a full couch, 2 lazy boy chairs, round glass kitchen table with 4 chairs & 1 fake tree. All that I used on a regular basis. Told by movers my items should take 5-9 days to reach Utah. That is what I planned & lived by. I was starting a new job, needed my business clothes & 3 kids needed their clothes to start at a new school that were all packed in truck. I ended up going from 04-25-14 to 05-21-14 with no beds, clothes(spent more money on that so, that we could work & school.) Told that my items weighed more than original 8015lbs estimated. The thing is I moved from Vegas to Indiana (another moving Co. that was wonderful at everything) 6yrs before with basically the same furniture, plus I got rid of a fridge, riding lawn mower, lg computer desk & 2 small kids desks. At that time my stuff was under 6100lbs. They even re weighed in Utah. Everyday, several times a day we called & either got hung up on, voicemails, the run around or very RUDE people at Colonial. We wanted our things & compensation or something due to items being left behind. Told they were working on it. When finally got our things, they reeked of smoke(don't smoke). Mattresses, clothes, couches, EVERYTHING! Apparently stored in a smoke filled place! Very unhappy, feel like I have been taken advantage of, lost money in items left behind & clothes I had to buy in waiting for things. I have sent numerous emails to Colonial, numerous phone calls to Colonial, have sent an email to Best Price Moving. I believe I have spoken to about everyone in the company & no one can help. Called yesterday & they were confused onto why I was calling. They stated that I should be getting a bill as well because reweigh was more too. Never told that one!! I am frustrated. I need someone to look into this company. I thought I did what I was supposed to at the beginning of looking into Colonial, now I look online & see all these complaints about Best Price Moving & Storage, who I did not know was the company they were using until moving day! I am not a stupid person or a person that complains. Unless I feel like we have been taken advantage of. Which this is the case here! Poor communication, poor customer service! Rude & a scam!! Taken advantage of!! read more

We hired Best Price Moving for our Chicago to San Francisco Bay Area move via 123movers on the web. We had used them before for local moves back when they used to perform local shipping in the 90's and they were always outstanding, so when my husband was offered a job starting in five days in California, we knew whom to call. They had already come by for an estimate as we expected to be moving in the spring, so we were able to schedule for Best Price to come to our large two bedroom loft to pack everything on Saturday (I called on Thursday). They finished the packing in four hours. This was incredible since we had fourteen foot ceilings and walls of built in shelving full of books and pictures, not to mention tons of wine classes and crystal servingware. They moved us out of the apartment on Monday. Because they can not park 18 wheelers on the streets of Illinois, they picked up our belongings in a smaller truck. From there they took our stuff to a storage facility, and on Thursday Best Price picked it up from there. They said it could take as long as a 15 business days for our stuff to get cross country, which sounded long and disappointing to us. Imagine my surprise when "Ori," the driver, called me telling me he would be able to deliver our stuff on March first, just ten days after it left IL. He was very courteous and arrived on time. I was surprised when he arrived with just two men to unpack everything, but they arrived at nine o'clock and were finished in the early afternoon. Mostly because of the local crews excellent packing, I have yet to find anything broken. However, Best Price did unwrap some of our furniture in order to return moving blankets, and I'm not sure these pieces were wrapped again. If you suspect this could happen, try to have them pack the furniture in paper and plastic so it won't be unwrapped. I was adamant with BP about my wedding dress being transported properly (it was already preserved and in a box). They wrapped it in corrugated cardboard and handed me a sharpie to label it. When Best Price arrived I went into the truck, and sure enough my wedding dress was at the very top, right side up with nothing resting on it. My advice based on reviews here and my experience: -get the estimate of the arrival date from Best Price -call your Best Price the day after your stuff is moved out to ask how much your load weighed, as the price is generally per pound -confirm the price and method of payment -walk through your house and determine where you will want your furniture before the movers arrive, so you can easily direct them -do your best to determine ahead of time whether your move will require shuttle services or if an 18 wheeler can be parked in front of your home read more

BPM recently packed and moved me across the country as an"agent" to Colonial Van Lines. At pickup/packing the crew leader, Angel, took a phone call and started angrily shouting at the person on the other line "I don't know where his f*** gun is? Why the f*** should I know where his gun is?" He stepped into the hallway to finish the call and repeated this language; I'd bet my neighbors locked their doors at that point. Lots of tension followed as he was clearly enraged and yet was about to pack my glassware. I just froze and at this point I just wanted them finished and out of my apartment. I was not asked to check off inventory as it left my apartment, so when I signed the paperwork I had to trust what he had written, and didn't notice until delivery that he had written 4 wardrobe boxes (expensive) when it was actually 2, and only one of which was used for its purpose: hanging clothes. Also kept on this bill were two mattress boxes at $40 each and their company doesn't even use these...just Saran Wrap on my mattress and boxspring. My things arrived 2 weeks later and this crew was excellent; they had just forgotten a few of my items and had to return that afternoon. The shoddy inventory list caused confusion at delivery, but we figured it out. I was not presented with the weight slips at delivery which made me suspect. I pressed and finally received them three weeks later only to see the first weighing occurred two days after pick up at their facility and the first weighing was had both my things and truck to be exactly 24000lbs. What do you think the probability is of coming to 24000 exactly? The second weighing listed the truck's weight as 21040 (another nice, round number, imagine that!) and the difference came to 2960 which is just under the 3000 limit for weighing to be permitted on a mover's own scale rather than the state-run scales. I wrote to enquire at customerservice@bpmoving.com from my yahoo and then my gmail only to see my query was rejected by both: "The recipient server did not accept our requests to connect." Shady, shady, shady. And, did I mention BPM needs the complete payment at least 24hrs before your things are delivered? I have no idea how this business keeps accredited with the BBB...read the reviews and claims there and decide for yourself. read more

These guys get a big fat zero stars! Horrible experience, I will never hire a moving company again, honestly the hassle and stress and is not worth it, nor is the money! I would rather rent a UHAUL then ever deal with a company like this. First and foremost we hired American Van Lines, which subbed the job out to Relo Van Lines a company that I cannot even find on the internet and then Best Price Moving was subbed out by Relo. Confused? Yeah, that's how we felt. We moved from Ohio to Oregon and they were late on the pick up, and late on delivery. The guys that picked everything up were a bunch of drug dealing thugs that admitted to my husband that they work these jobs to move illegal drugs throughout the US. Then the guys who delivered didn't even speak English, unloaded our load in such a haste that we did not even have a chance to go over the "sloppy" inventory sheet. They left as soon as they got their check, which they asked for cash, but we already had a cashiers check made out from our bank. So as we are unloading our things we realized that over half of our 75 boxes were wet, or had been wet at one point. As we started opening our boxes we realized that over half our books (which were collected over our 8 year combined in school and cost us probably more than $3,000 dollars) were completely or most covered in mold. The movers had taken our things from Ohio to Chicago where it sat in a warehouse for over a month and then moved out to Oregon. Then to top it all off when I went to make the claim the woman from American Van Lines said that I need only to document the things damaged and how much they weighed, no pictures necessary. This was back in September when I filed the claim and today I just received my claims contract only to find out that they are only covering one item worth $24, not the 100 year old hutch that is a family heirloom that they broke a piece off of, because I "didn't take pictures". Needless to say, they are con-artists. Oh, and another thing our move ended up being twice as much as our original quote and we even ditched some heavy-weight items to lower our weight. Our moving experience was a nightmare and I suggest to any one that you just do it yourself. Hire a young buck in the neighborhood to load the UHAUL, save yourself the strife. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I had an awful experience with this company and can see from other reviews I am not alone. I filled out my information on some website and had numerous companies calling me. I received quotes from 3 of them, Best Price and two others I wont name. The quotes I got with the other two companies were a little higher and the rep at Best Price was quick to show me all types of negative information about them. IN reality the sales rep at another company was a lot easier to work with and a lot more informative. But I chose Best Price. I moved to New York and HAD a one bedroom apartments worth of furniture (notice the emphasis on HAD). They quoted me at 2,000 LBS with EVERYTHING included (notice the emphasis on everything.) Things went wrong from the moment they showed up at my door,2 hours late. They estimated $300 in materials and said they would not load if I didnt agree. So I did, what was I suppose to do at that point). Well they used $460 in materials, and were impossible to communicate with. After they loaded everything and left I didnt hear from them for 2 days, and when I did they said they weighed it and it weighed 3,400 LBS and charged me over $950 in extra charges there. Then they show up without 4 of my things. SO I asked if I could get deducted that from my overage they laughed. They also broke 2 chairs and chipped a dresser. So I went from having a nice 1 bedroom apartment of furniture is now a slum in Manhattan. At the end they are unethical from the get go, wont call you back, and when they do it's to break the news. Your $1,200 move is now over $2,500. It's really too bad they are even in business and I will tell everyone I can to stay away from these clowns. read more

BEST PRICE IS THE WORST COMPANY AND EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. lied about everything AND : 1. charged me $2,500 MORE than the "not to exceed quote" 2. did not pick up NOR deliver on the schedule dates and changed the contract to a 3 day window, delivered 2 days late! 3. do NOT accept credit cards and Saturday at 1:00 told me I needed to pay COD $3,300 BEFORE delivery 4. did NOT unpack 1 single box after I PAID $4,300 for packing, deliver, and unpack, 5. refused to put carpet mats down on my white carpet 6. stole $1,000 in merchandise from me 7. held my goods hostage and made me sign ALL paperwork prior to deliver and unloading or was putting my items in storage and charging me for that too! 8. NO ONE was ever available to speak to AND the higher I finally was able to escalate the RUDER they were and hung up on me! 9. Driver swore at me and kept reminding me to be nice to them as he was doing me a FAVOR!!! 10. Left things in my condo. 11. Refused to take tv wall mount as it "required a mechanic". 12. Boxes were doubled from the required 40 to 90 boxes because they were FULL of paper, they were wrapping plastic and cardboard spice containers individually. Wrapping spoons individually. Did not fill boxes... 13. Left all the packing materials from my furniture in my driveway and I was told when I complained about them not unpacking if I wasnt nice to him he could bring all that trash and "shit" back in and dump it on my living room floor. read more

Do not, Do not, Do not use this company under any circumstances. My first interaction with this company came when I submitted a quote to the search engine. The quote they have me was the lowest so I decided to return their call and I spoke to a representative named Lisa. Lisa was extremely pleasant to deal with and did a very good job of convincing me to use their service. I gave the company an inventory list, sent them pictures of every item to be picked up and exactly where to pick up the items. Two movers showed up and as immediately told me that the quote was not right and of course it was going to be far more expensive( this is a very common tactic), I worked out an arrangement and my furniture was loaded on to the truck. The Truck drove away. For the next ten days I called the office consistently to find out where my stuff was and when it was going to be delivered. At say 13, I threatened to contact the Illinois Attorney General if I did not receive a call back. Finally was told that my items were going to be delivered two says later. Moving company showed up at 6:30 PM after telling me they would be there at 9:30 AM. Refused to put together the disassembled furniture, were generally rude, and several of my items were chipped or otherwise damaged. My sense of this operation is that this company is simply a referral service for cheap local movers. Please, please do not use this company. The most awful moving experience of my life. read more

I brokered Best Price Moving for my move from IL to GA through Cross Country Moving Group and my only mistake was not going through Best Price Moving direct. The broker was dishonest about cost and delivery times, but that was not Best Price Moving's fault. As soon as I realized the broker was the problem, I communicated with Best Price direct. There are a lot of reviews about dispatch not answering which I did experience. All I had to do was ask to be put on hold, wait a few minutes and Mary would answer. Mary was extremely helpful and friendly she was just busy. Other reviews I saw was that they increased their cost after loading, which did happen with me but I was expecting this. To those people who are frustrated with that, that is going to happen on almost any move that a consultant doesn't come to your house before hand. However, the movers that came and moved us out did amazing!!! Wrapped everything that needed to be wrapped extremely well. TVs, glass, furniture all showed up without a scratch! I was completely expecting something to be broken just with moving that far and it wasn't. They arrived within their 10 business day window and both movers in IL and GA were extremely nice and professional. While the delivery window of 10 days was longer than some competitors, their cost was much more in line with what I was wanting to pay so it was worth it. I would highly recommend using them! read more

My move from IL to NJ in 2013 was an unexpected one and I was apprehensive about handling the matter. This was when my friend Joan hired Best Price Moving for helping me out and I am glad she took this step for me because I cannot imagine how I could have managed without them. Quality service has become the hallmark of Best Price Moving and they lived up to the expectations I had from them, considering what Joan told me about their service, from her personal experience. The representatives were attentive to my instructions and made sure that all the jobs were handled accordingly. This is what made the big difference because I have moved before and it seems that no one listens to you while getting the moving job done. But with Best Price Moving, it was an entirely different experience as they made everything hassle free for me. Even the most delicate of my stuff reached the destination in perfect condition and the delivery was done as per the committed deadline. Price wise too, Best Price Moving gave me pocket friendly services and the price was worth the service quality. Best Price Moving, you are the best! read more

Best moving experience ever! I was very concerned about this move as I was responsible for coordinating a economical and safe delivery of my elderly parent's home in Decatur, IL to their new home in Glen Burnie, MD. Needless to say, I read a lot of moving horror stories and was very apprehensive about this move. I was very impressed with this company. They were forthright about the price. The movers arrived on time to pack up our house. They were considerate and impeccable with packing. They wrapped each piece of furniture with a blanket and secured it with tape. I was amazed as I watched them wrap our grandfather clock. They wrapped it in a blanket and then in cardboard. It arrived without a scratch! We had a lot of china and nothing broke. All furniture was delivered without a scratch. The delivery was on time and the driver even drove out early to insure that he had room to maneuver his truck. The moving company was excellent about the payment matching the price quoted. Thank you Best Price Moving and Storage! You made a difficult job much easier :) sandi read more

My family moved from Southern Illinois to Mill Valley, CA in Dec. of 2008. Every aspect of the move was not only highly professional, but pleasant as well. The agent who came out to do the estimate gave lots of very good advice. The young men who packed, and later the crew who loaded, all treated our belongings carefully and professionally. The driver touched bases with me from time to time during the long drive, to let me know where he was and when he anticipated arriving to the new house. Unfortunately on such a big move some things do go wrong. One item went missing and only 1 item was broken. Once reported, the claims people contacted us immediately, sent inspectors out within days of contacting us, and sent us a check for the items claimed within a week of the inspectors' report. We've moved extensively over the past 22 years, and this was one of the best moves we've experienced. Thank you to the crew at Best Price Moving and Storage! read more

the worst ever!! if you want your items broken and damaged then use them. we moved from ohio to florida this company lied about how much the move was actually going to cost. it took 3 weeks for our items to get there and when they finally arrived they had sublet my items to another moving company!! if you get the displeasure of talking to the owner he is rude and very very nasty. upon unpacking our items almost anything that glass was broken and our furniture was either broken or damaged. we took out the extra moving insurance to cover our losses with a company they recommended but guess what they only cover what they want. as of this writing i am still waiting on a settlement with the insurance company and this is going on 2 years!! you have been warned beware of this company!!! read more

I went through a broker for my move from Illinois to Montana - they subcontracted Best Price Moving and Storage for the job. I couldn't be happier with the work they did. Professional, timely, and polite throughout the process. 3 movers came and wrapped my furniture, stored it in Chicago, and chartered a semi to ship my goods across country. When the movers arrived to unload yesterday, there were no hidden charges or fees. The movers on the Montana end were also professional, timely and polite. I cannot thank them enough for helping me with a major move - I couldn't have done it without their assistance. Pro tip: Put Apple Airtags in a few of your boxes - it helps to monitor your belongings while they're transitioning and definitely helped my peace of mind. read more

They gave horrible service when my mom was looking for a mover, before I even knew she was moving---I have used Five Star Moving & Storage in Skokie 3 times in the last 7 years and that's who I refer everyone too; anyway, these guys at WORST PRICE should all get locked up. All they did with my mom was harass her even after she decided to not use them and she even had the decency to return their call to let them know; all they do is trash everyone else and when I decided to look them up, they had over 80 complaints in the last couple years. I showed my mom, and she literally had to switch her phone number and had to block their emails, cuz they wouldn't stop calling or emailing her. Losers. read more
