My longtime mechanic had retired, and I wasn't sure where to go next until I discovered D&G Auto Repair on Yelp! In August 2025, I brought my car in for brake service (pads and rotors replacement). From the very beginning, I felt I was in good hands. Paulo, the manager, responded to my Yelp inquiry almost immediately. He was professional, kind, and attentive. He listened carefully to my concerns and explained everything in a clear, respectful way, something I truly appreciate. I felt a strong sense of trust that he genuinely cared about my car and my safety. When I arrived at the shop, Paulo was just as professional and kind in person. He made me feel confident in my choice to use to D&G Auto Repair. After I left my car, he followed up via text with an estimated bill before starting any work, which gave me peace of mind and control over the process. The shop itself is small but clearly run by expert technicians, and the waiting room is clean and comfortable, a nice bonus! I returned yesterday with a question about a noise I'd heard. Tony, one of the technicians, came out and personally walked around my car with me. He pointed out how clean it looked and even asked about repairs I had done elsewhere. He gave me a mini lesson on body repair which was surprisingly enlightening. He then gave me directions to the nearest Auto Parts store and Car Wash. That kind of extra care is rare and so appreciated. I had been to a Mercedes dealer for an airbag warning light. The Mercedes Dealer said it would cost $3,455.88 to get the problem fixed. The plug-in seat sensor was unplugged. The Team at Cambridge fixed it for $45.00. The dealer had suggested other work that was very expensive. Cambridge Street Auto told me it was all unnecessary. We will only take our cars to them going forward.

Otherwise, you may end up in a long line of customers and not get your car back for hours. One issue though, I show up exactly at opening hours, but sometimes the front desk doesn't open for 30 minutes or more. But that's the price I pay for trying to get first in line. Also, Tommy, the gentleman working at the front desk is great and very kind.

Marc was flexible and understanding in coordinating a convenient time to have the battery change. When I first called he was able to give me an accurate quote for the battery replacement and had the parts (which the Mini dealer could not even confirm with me over the phone when I called them). The price for the battery replacement was $150 less than the dealership and was done much more quickly at GPS than the Boston dealership offered me. They even have access to the dealership records for maintenance and were able to add on an oil change which was long overdue. Everyone was incredibly nice, fair, competent, and authentic. GPS has gained a new longterm customer!

Before I got back, I gave them a heads up, and my car was all ready upon my return. The second time I came, I was just there to get advice. tl;dr they broke my brake light while completing work on a different part but are blaming it on me…read more Took my car here for the state inspection where they said I needed to replace the center taillight due to condensation building up in it (which they outlined in the paperwork). I had to pick up my car to go to work without the work completed because they were taking so long. When I went in to pick up my car I saw they had tried to replace the top brake light and broke it. When I confronted them, they said that it had always been broken and that's what failed the inspection. Once I pointed out the obvious lie in the paperwork they changed their story and said that they missed the broken brake light and that I would need to get it fixed by the next inspection and still need to replace the center taillight. So now I'm out about $1000 for a broken brake light they broke and are refusing to own up to.
