I had left my Kindle tablet on the front passenger seat before my car was brought into the bay. Less than 20 minutes later, the inspection was complete--everything seemed fine until I noticed the Kindle was no longer where I left it. When I asked the attendant if they had moved it, he quickly brushed me off, saying, "It's there somewhere. We didn't take it." The owner then jumped in, immediately defensive and raising his voice: "We're not thieves here! Check your car--it's there!" Sure enough, I found the Kindle in the back seat. This could have been easily resolved with a calm explanation instead of shouting at a customer. But it didn't stop there. The owner continued yelling, "And don't go on Google saying we're thieves!" I replied, "I'll definitely mention your attitude." He shot back, "That's fine. I've been in this business 33 years--I'll just respond to your review saying you discriminate." I'm not sure where that came from, but okay. Interestingly, this wasn't my first negative interaction with this same person--I experienced similar rudeness about a year ago but decided to give them another chance. Big mistake. It's now confirmed: these are some of the most unpleasant people to deal with in Brookline. Avoid this place if you value your time, your peace of mind, or simply a respectful interaction. Looking at the other reviews, it seems I'm not the only one who's dealt with this kind of rude treatment here. Sometimes, the warning signs are right there--you just have to pay attention and stay away.

I personally filled out the contact form with her name, phone number, and address. No repair authorization was given. No estimate was approved. The shop never contacted her that day. At the end of the day, she had to call them herself and was told they were closing and would contact her the following morning. The next day, she was informed that approximately $1,740 worth of repairs had already been completed and that she would need to pay the bill to get her vehicle back. Let me be clear: this review is not about whether the repairs were necessary. It is not about the quality of the work. It is about performing major repair work without first obtaining authorization from the customer. When I spoke directly with the owner, his position was essentially that the car needed the work, so they fixed it and the customer should be happy. I strongly disagree. A customer has the right to decide whether to spend $1,740, seek a second opinion, postpone the repair, or make other arrangements. That decision belongs to the customer, not the repair shop. What made the situation worse was the complete unwillingness to work with her afterward. She was forced to borrow money to pay the unexpected bill. Despite the circumstances, no discount was offered, no payment plan was offered, and no accommodation was made. The position was simply: pay the full amount or do not get the vehicle back. I've trusted this shop in the past. I've sent business their way. After this experience, I cannot recommend them to anyone, nor can I trust them with my own vehicle going forward. If you use this shop, make absolutely sure you have a clear understanding, in writing, of what work may be performed and what dollar amount has been authorized before leaving your vehicle.
