I have not always been happy with some of the policies Citibank has to offer, but I know outstanding customer service when presented. I have known and interacted many times with Personal Banker, Melody Vandee, who has the best customer service experience. She genuinely listens and personally walks you through every procedure making sure you fully understand and never rushes you. She is always calm and very knowledgeable and I feel truly wants to assist the customers needs. I may not always recommend Citibank itself, but I highly recommend Melody Vandee for your banking needs. read more

This is actually ZERO stars!!!! The negative reviews are substantiated. I worked in the banking industry for many years and have NEVER turned away a customer to open a new account. Apparently an "appointment " is needed. Yes, we did arrive about 15 minutes before closing due to work, however there was no one waiting for new accounts. Recent visit to this location is horrible. While the teller is very professional and helpful. This vitenamese banker on the other hand was extremely unprofessional, rude, incompetence, and harassing. When I first walked in, her attitude is very unfriendly as if she wants to start a fight. There is a promotion going on with CITI where you receive credits when you deposite a large amount of money. The teller is fully aware of it, she seems to have no clue. I have to make her call the original banker who set up the account for me. Her attitude suddenly changed when talking to her cowotker, she became very polite and apologizing every minute. Just so weird. Then, she suddenly saying she has another client coming in 5 mins. Basically saying she didnt want to help me. I told her if CITI wants to provide bad services, I can always move to another bank. She then proceed and found my account is in NYC. She told me in this ordering manner saying why do I have an account in NYC, I should move to CA. Whatever financial decision I make is my personal choice. It is so unprofessional for a banker to order customer on personal choice. She then becomes very harsssing accusing me that I dont like CA. I said no, she kept on asking. I felt like I was dealing with a crazy mental person. CITI bank needs to better train your employees to stop providing such bad service and harassing customers. read more

I've NEVER heard of a bank that can't cash checks for NON-ACCOUNT holders. This was a WASTE of my TIME and GAS. Which they reason I needed to cash this check. Nearest CitiBank I would have go is ANAHEIM. What kind of customer service they provide. Everyone was just standing there talking away wealth mgmt. Tellers just standing there bored. OH WELL!! Went to deposit checks on Labor Day and the ATM only recorded 3 out of 5 checks deposited due to "technical problems". I instructed the machine to cancel and return my checks but it ended the transaction with it spitting out a slip of message "I'm sorry. I can't return your check (s) right now due to technical problems." I spent 40 minutes explaning and providing information to customer representatives over the phone to try to resolve the issue. They said it will take 3-5 day to investigate. Best tip I can give for future depositors, insert your check one at a time even though the ATM states it can take 10 at a time. read more

Be careful. The Mortgage Office named Tamer Abouelezz, Citi bank loan officer (NMLSID: 587631). He promised in written to give me a loan with no points and additional 1,500 of lender's credit. He told me that it is approved so I decided to continue. During my loan application process, Tamer is trying to put conditions that was not previously agreed to stop me from asking about the discount he promised. I managed to fulfill all the condition, however at the end, he still can't provide me with what he agreed. Therefore, I was forced to sign the loan document in order to meet the closing date to avoid further consequences. He ended up charged me 1,300 (0.25 points) and did not give me 1,500 of lender's credit as promised at the beginning. So I paid 2,800 more to get the loan because he failed to honor the terms he agreed in written. In addition, he does not take any calls from you and once you signed the application with him. No service at all. I would recommend you to find another loan officer in Citi. But if you have to deal with him, be very careful... read more

This bank sucks to have a credit card with!!! I have had a card with them since 1998 and since 2010 its been almost impossible to conduct business over the phone as apparently they dont have anyone who can speak english with out such a heavy accent you can hardly understand them. Everyone who answers sounds like they are from Mumbia India and half the time you cant get a straight answer from them. They have closed down all the branch offices in my state so you cant do business in person. They also have one of the highest interest rates of the credit cards I own. If you need a credit card do yourself a favor and go some place else! read more

When you have issues, and you will, and go into the branch for help, after waiting a long time to talk to someone they tell you to call customer service. Recent visit was to utilize the teller services for an in-person financial transaction. Tellers are professional, courteous and efficient to serve clients without all the standard brash and abrasive attitude. Their private client banking folks are actually very helpful and pay good attention to their customer's needs. As mentioned above, I also had a very good experience dealing with the tellers and most importantly, they take care of all my transactions in a very timely manner. The location is perfect for me. Based on my experience, I would return. Also, this branch wants to be personal - and my "personal banker" Steven reached out for a get-to-know-you meeting the other week. When I was in today, he knew my name. That's trippy. Sometimes it gets very crowded. Run as fast as you can away from anything that has to do with Citibank card. I cannot imagine what Costco was thinking when they switched from American Express to Citibank. It is the most incompetent institution in the Country. First, it sent my new cards to the wrong address. Then when I finally received the cards, the information they gave on record did not match with my actual birthday and social. Then after waiting almost an hour for someone to answer their Customer Service line (a true misnomer), I was told that their computers had just crashed and that they could not help me.
