One of the most UNPROFESSIONAL agents I've encountered Aurel Savin - he hosted an open house today. I arrived on time and found a note on the door that instructed interested people to text the cell number. The agent Aurel answered saying to give him a few minutes. So I waited, outside the building in the 30 degrees weather, not even the lobby. 10 minutes went by and I texted again and Aurel said he was with clients, to give him time. I waited outside for 20 minutes just to see an OPEN HOUSE, doesn't he understand the word OPEN?? Total waste of time. read more

Shlono Azizyahi is an agent I workd with. I never dealt with someone that is so unprofessional, who constantly lies and changes the story.  They charge $100 to run your credit?? You as a big organization should be weare of who uses your name and represents you. I'd leave 5 stars, but moving isn't ever going to be that great. It should be testimony enough that I was inclined to leave a positive review, but I'll elaborate for those that are still on the dark side of the move. Finding a home in New York is difficult: It's a fast and expensive market. You'll do all this viewing and comparison and decision brokering just to find that you still have to cut a check to someone who just met you out front of the building. So you can see that I'm cynical. Yet, here I am to tell you that one man changed my outlook on New York brokers. This is my ringing endorsement for Travis Hudson. Travis is a very thoughtful and low-pressure guide to help you find your way home. Fee or no-fee; he'll dig diligently and produce options that meet your criteria and also expand your consideration. Agents themselves are quite pleasant, but unfortunately also quite comfortable leasing apartments to people when they know the building does not have reliable hot water. We signed a lease dates April 15th. Had no hot water for the first month, then has been on and off ever since, sometimes being off for over a week at a time. Citi Habitats were made aware of this immediately, however have continued leasing these apartments, and we have since found out that this issue has been going on since September 2017. There are now 30+ of us affected by this. So, nice people, but don't 100% trust them and check things out for yourself. I shall not be using this agency again. read more

He was prompt, always accessible when we had questions, thorough when explaining the process to us, and gave great advice for navigating our apartment search. I worked with Davida Tretout when looking for an apartment. I didn't reach out to aptsandlofts directly, but met Davida on checking out an apartment I saw on craigslist. From that point on, she was very dedicated to finding me a great place and really took my desires to heart when looking for places. She was very communicative, responding to emails quickly and often (several times a day), and it really felt like she was trying to treat me as if I was her only client. The one time she was late due to traffic, she kept me updated with her status, which I really appreciated. Though I have not moved yet, Davida had a great relationship with the landlord of the apartment I chose, who was also a pretty quirky, cool guy. Great experience with Jodi Karem! I had begun my search sending out many inquiry emails after browsing Naked Apartments, and was unimpressed when some brokers replied with a quick cursory email, some writing a few days later, and others not all. Jodi was the only broker from any company who, in addition to emailing me, actually called and left me a detailed and helpful message. I got a sense of what was available, what her style was like, and what I could likely expect if I worked with her, without having to chase a broker down for more information. I was moving from out of state, not certain of the best neighborhood for me, and potentially having to sign a lease from a distance, so confidence in her skills, attention, and reputability was critical. She took the time to listen to what my needs and priorities were. She sent me some possibilities to narrow down her understanding of what I was looking for. In the end, I did come to the city for one whirlwind day of apartment viewing. Jodi had set up several appointments in a row, all of which met my very narrow and complicated criteria (outdoor space, allowed dogs, natural light, open kitchen, near subway, moderately priced, etc.). She did not waste my time with inappropriate matches, or cancelled appointments. The neighborhoods we settled on were good for my needs. She was completely prepared and organized for my very short visit that had little room for error. I selected a place the next morning, and we started the paperwork immediately. I had a somewhat complicated application with partial self-employment and being from out-of-state. I went to her office the that evening, and she and the office manager stayed with me until everything necessary was complete. Jodi worked diligently with the building broker and the landlord over the next couple of days to get my application in to take the place off the market, and to get me approved. When I arrived a week later in NYC on the first of the month after a 2-day drive (with a full car and dogs), the building broker was there as promised with keys in hand, no complications. I have been in my place a month now. It is even than I had hoped, and the neighborhood is a better match for me than I would have ever discovered on my own. I have no complaints about Citi Habitats, and only good things to say about Jodi. I hope to purchase something in the next few years, and will be certain to engage Jodi for that when the time comes. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE company!! Stay away if you want a smooth transition into your new apartment. Vicky was professional and helpful up UNTIL she received her Broker's Fee, then completely dropped the ball on the most important steps in the moving process: -how to get the lease signed -communication to the landlord -receipt of the keys On top of all this, she quickly texted me the night before my discussed move-in date to just inform me that the apartment would not be cleaned before my moving in. SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND ABSURD!!!! What kind of a company leaves you to the wolves like that? APTSANDLOFTS. She *seemed* so helpful and responsive, telling me that of course the apartment would be clean, I could move in a day before the lease began, etc. However, after she received her broker's fee, none of the things we discussed were met. She added SO MUCH extra stress on the night before my move-in day, which is stressful enough, and did nothing to remedy the situation. In fact, she responded in a ridiculously childish ways like saying, "well the apartment is not dirty, it's just dusty." If I could take back my experience with aptsandlofts, I absolutely would. STAY AWAY! I REPEAT, STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLY UNPROFESSIONALLY, DISHONEST, and DISORGANIZED COMPANY!! read more

Two of my friends and I were looking to move in together in BK, we were talking about it and we ran into this city habitat as we were strolling one day. The Front desk person introduced us to Linda Nader, who is the MOST organized Realestate agent I've encountered thus far in my life. She is a breath of fresh air, especially when you are on a time constraint and feeling anxious about finding a right "home" for you and your friends. We all had different demands on what we were looking for and Linda wrote down all of them and followed up with us via email and text in a very detailed manner- this was nice bc we were all on the same page with what apts we wanted to see and not waste our time. Linda is super calm and kept us calm w this tiresome process of looking for an apt that fits us and our budgets in BROOKLYN! My salesperson was Gabrielle. She showed up 10 minutes late for my appointment and quickly showed me the apartment then we started back to her office to complete the application process. The apartment was $2k per month, I make well into six figures and told her I had all the docs to prove this: bank stubs, pay stubs, tax returns etc. She then asked if I "had substantial assets" . This kind of threw me off as I was unaware that one needed "substantial assets" for $2k apt. I told her my application was strong and that I could provide all application materials proving it. We got back to her office, I handed her my application and processing fee in cash. She pushed my application and cash right back to me saying "I'm sending applications to the landlord this afternoon, let's see where they land" I left her office immediately feeling profiled and disregarded. I just couldn't understand why I received this treatment other than the brown tone of my skin. The next day I get an email from Gabrielle telling me that she's too busy and she wanted to hand me to another broker. I called her boss to file a complaint and was told "this isn't the way we do business I will talk to her and she won't have a job if she keeps this up". But obviously she wasn't fired for the way she handled me and that is the way they do business. read more
