The person I dealt w/was acting like a goddess manager was Meliana. She was arrogant & I might of tasted her venom when she was @ 9th Ave. She spread gossip among her Russian customers like it does any good for the account holders or herself personally. It don't do any good for the bank & her reputation individually. Milena, as a front receptionist at here, she has a very poor attitude and lacks organization. I arrived first, the banker should handle my business first, but she prioritized the customer behind me without any explanation. Wasted my time for 40mins just waiting there. Her attitude is discrimination against Asians and discrimination against those with poor English speaker. read more

Amazing how one's opinion can change. I've frequented this branch for 15 years. Always had great service. A few months ago the wheels fell off, pandemic attitudes? I stopped in to activate a new ATM card. I met Liliia in account services. I had been helped my Liliia's associate Milena before. Long story short, this is the only branch I'll deal with. Opened a few new accounts. Upgraded, transferred monies in and had all the banking needs I didn't know I need met and exceeded. Quick note. My Mom was a Banker and I'd thought that level of service was lost. If you need a bank, or just need to see what is out there. Stop in and experience the difference. my boyfriend advised me to open a new credit card so I came to this branch. I really liked that they have parking, which is very important in such a busy street. The bank staff are great and knowledgeable, while I was opening the account I was offered coffee and tea and everyone was very friendly! Very pleasant experience , my banker Lilia greeted me with a smile and went above and beyond during account opening and answered all of my questions. Went to the teller to give me change of $66.06. I had to repeat several times my request. My eyes rolled to my gf who was standing next to me. I felt as if she didn't want to be bothered with my request. The Ukrainian blonde rep needs retraining. She said the other party will take care of the Zelle deposit and I didn't need to do any action. I tried it but it didn't go through. I went to Noriega branch, Tammie walked me through the process and installed it on my phone. Now why couldn't the Ukrainian rep do the same? This cause me undue stress and a waste of my time having to go to another branch. Clearly this rep should've asked her colleague for assistance. She definitely needs retraining. Came in here to get assistance with online banking. The banker who " helped" me (Tammy Yang) was nothing close to useless. It felt like I was a nuisance to her. Asked me to register as new user, told her did that, tried that. Told me to call customer service number, again, told her tried that. Then she started typing on her keyboard and "found out" my old checking account was attached to my online banking and gave me a number to call to tell them to unlink my checking account. There were at least 5 workers there, no customers and yet, she couldn't even try to call that number for me. I'm in the banking industry too and she's someone I would never ever hire. read more

Worst Customer Service ever... YOUR PASSPORT with you in the branch present is worthless unless they verified you over the phone. Here is the story. Today I got a call from 415-571-2809. I picked up and heard some noise and a foreign language.. At first I decided that it's a scam when suddenly, I heard an english talk with VERY heavy accent... Lady DID NOT UNIDENTIFIED herself and asked for my mom in law. It was almost impossible to understand her, but I stated that yes, the person by " **name** has its number but does require an interpreter. My mom uses my number in case she need to communicate with someone in English. I asked several times who was calling, what was the matter of the call and al least give me the name and phone number so that we can call back. NONE was given , lady just hang up. ( so much for the customer support and professionalism ) . A few moments later, I call my mom, she was in panic and almost crying saying that she is at the bank and they won't let her set up a pin code on her ATM just because she has MY NUMBER in her bank account and Winnie Yeung ( i asked for the name later ) DECLINED to help them! My mom presented her US Passport, ID, Social Security AND ATM card and none of it wouldn't work for Winnie unless they verified her identity over the phone .. YES !!!! You are reading it right ! )))) The person is in front of them WITH PAPERS and WITH ID's , Passport But they have to verified her with the PHONE CALL!!!! HOW PATHETIC is that ??.. when I asked her simply to change the number in the account ( if that's so important for them...) she said it was not their policy... the customer must pick up the phone in front of them so that they can verify the identity.. EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD HER PASSPORT, ID, SS card in front of them... after that, i just called the customer support.. they were soo confused.. asking "what's the problem? she has her papers, it's HER account, her papers....what's the problem? After reading some one star reviews I had serious plans to go to a downtown branch to sort a wire transfer problem. But as I passed the branch, their parking lot had a few vacant spots, so I parked. I was greeted by someone quickly, explained my predicament. She in turn grabbed a supervisor and in 20 minutes, completed my transaction. I was happy to be out so fast. They advised I had passed my cut off for same day completion but the funds arrived at their destination 2 hours later. The worst Citibank customer service ever, came in here to make a transfer, even though there are 5 people available only one was able to do a transfer, there was another banker talking loudly on the phone with clients in chinese. It seemed that I'm in Chinatown and it was very unwelcoming. I waited 40 minutes to speak with the lady in charge of transfers and when it was my turn she was strongly suggesting that I should do it online to save money ($13 after I waited for 45 minutes). I then got into the processing of transfer where I was quickly denied being able to transfer funds based o the fact that I had one returned Check from my client who made a mistake on writing the correct amount. Even though my balances without Check In question were way above the amount I needed to purchase a company vehicle. Winnie was my representative and Eric is her manager that completely delayed the process. This is embarrassing and I am taking my money to Chase as their customer service is far superior to Citibanks. I also called the number for customer service they have on my atm card and it was the number possibly hacked offering free vacations (scam). Citibank is no longer cool and hip, Chase is the new name of the game.. get it! read more

Apparently this place started to close down its parking lot after business hours. I'm a business owner in the need of making ATM deposits on a daily basis in order to keep my business running. Obviously I can do it only after business hours and weekends when it is almost impossible to find parking around the branch. So lately I find myself having to walk 5-10 blocks just so I can make a deposit to my account. I like the fact that this Citibank has a parking lot when a lot of the other Banks in the area don't have one. I guess that's where the convenience ends. I wanted to open another checking account here and they only had one guy that could open accounts and he had two people in line waiting for him. The time before that I came to use the ATM, of which they only have one, and it was out of order. Two strikes. I will say that banking online with Citibank is probably the most convenient, you have all your investments, checking, credit card, and savings account all on the first page. Making transfers between them is instant. Unfortunately, that doesn't make up for poor telephone customer service. Be careful what you're saying yes to. One of their tactics is asking you if you want a simple service like overdraft protection. Say yes, and they give you all this legal jargon in heavily accented English that by the time they're through you've already opened up a new line of credit without even knowing it. Went here to use their ATM. At this location their ATM is located out side. Not like other citibanks where their ATM is located inside and you would have to swipe your card to go inside. I would not say it's a dangerous area. The area I fact is pretty busy. For me it was a plus because this place was right next to a bar so it was very convenient for me. read more

This citibank branch is evil!!!!!!! I went yesterday with my coworker to go cash our checks. Our company uses citibank. Since the occupation I'm currently in consists of constant driving, we happened to notice this branch, and decided to drop in. When I went in there, they asked me 3 times to open up an account. Umm hello, didn't I just say I bank somewhere else? Were you not listening to me? I don't want an account with you guys, bottom line. So anyways, this one lady is helping me and taking forever while she is at it. I've got my school ID, my work ID, and my drivers license on the counter in front of her. What more do you want? A pint of blood to DNA test? She is saying she has to check the procedure on cashing checks, but I've been to plenty of citibanks to cash my check. My coworker is next in line, and the other teller calls her up. As soon as my coworker goes up there, the lady tells her that she cannot cash her check... and that she has to wait for me? There was no one else in line. I've been to this branch before... and they don't get busy very often. At that point, we were ready to leave. My coworker gets in the car, and she ends up waiting another 5 minutes for me. If at all possible, avoid this branch if your work uses them. Go to the citibank either in the Castro, or the Financial District. You'll get better service. If you're stuck in the avenues (Sunset, Richmond)... then good luck. Peace out. read more

Branch Assistant manager gave me hard time making a payment via cash to my wifes credit card. I wanted to be an anonymous gift, but they did not want to accept a payment without my ID and disclosure of my occupation status. My occupation is NOT of their business, I was NOT taking money out I was depositing cash. Emad ElShawa was the assistant manager, he gave me all of the breakdowns of New Federal Law and all that..... If it is the case they should send out a notification to an account holder advising that CASH payment will no longer be accepted without ID and Occupation Status. This was the last of our business with that bank. This bank is know for the weirdest policies, this was my wife's 1st credit card and this is the only reason we kept it. As per our experience all other banks will gladly take the cash, in fact other CITIBank branches accepted cash deposits with confirming of who actually making a deposit as long as we had an account number to which the deposit was made to. read more

Not a slam against the great folks who work at this branch, but rather the corporate policies that make this branch worthless to me. I use Citibank credit cards because I can make cash payments on them here at this branch. Make that, I USED to be able to make cash payments. They instituted a new policy (December 2018) whereby credit card holders cannot make a payment in cash. I have to open an expensive checking account. That's a load of bunk. So now, as the due date is approaching, I no longer have the option of avoiding a late charge by stopping by this branch, which is very convenient to my home.
