I made an appointment for a notary service on a Wednesday at 2pm. I received 3 text messages and emails to remind me of the appointment. My husband, daughter, and I all took time off for the appointment. When we showed up on time, we were told it would be at least a half an hour wait because the staff who could do the notary had left for lunch. So what's the point of scheduling an appt! This is a waste of your customers' time!! We were told we could go to another office in downtown or Daly City. This is such poor customer service! What you are saying is, if you didn't like it, you could go elsewhere. Patelco didn't have any respect for their customers' time! You need to stick to your schedule. There's absolutely no excuse for this! I've noticed their service has slowly been going downhill. read more

This branch needs to work on the customer service side. -The bankers just give off a feeling of being bothered by questions. This is a new account for me ... so final opinion may change, but not a great beginning. - over 2hrs to open an acct. Just painful. - giving a point higher for either the manager or assistant manager (sorry I didn't get his name), who helped me finish some business on my seperate second day. He needed additional info to complete what I needed. When I returned with requested information, he handled even though was close to closing time. I really appreciated his assistance. read more

He spent about 30 minutes navigating emails and encrypted messages from Patelco that I could not gain access to in order to allow me to receive copies of the statements I needed. They were from a closed account that was transferred to a new account in my name as the administrator of the estate. He got to the main issue after a lengthy process and left no stone unturned. I've been with Patelco since the 90s, and over the years I've really come to love this credit union and everything it offers. The Noriega branch has always stood out as the best one I've worked with. I've had the pleasure of being helped by so many wonderful employees over the years--Darren (I was sad to see him move to another branch), Luis (missed him when he went to Daly City), and most recently Kevin, whose last day was just a few days ago and I'm very sad to see him go. Other employees who made this branch feel special were Nancy and Mai. They always knew who I was without me even having to say anything, and that personal touch meant a lot. I was truly sad when they left. There was also a newer gentleman I liked--sharp, friendly--but he moved to the East Coast. Now that everyone who knew me has moved on, it's going to feel a little different. You can't expect every employee to know you by name, but that extra bit of familiarity really made a difference. One time I forgot my wallet and needed to withdraw money, and the only familiar face there was Kevin--he came to the rescue without hesitation. Their service was always exceptional, and every visit was pleasant. I haven't been back since Kevin retired, but I wish him the very best--he deserves it! I don't usually write reviews for banks, but with everyone I knew gone, I felt it was the right time to give them the credit they're due. Upadating my review after Patelco reached out, and post-outage; it seems like whatever the issue was with the ransomware attack, Patelco is in the process of restoring service. I'm certainly rooting for Patelco to recover from this cyber attack, and will see how they respond. This may be a chance for them to establish a good reputation for handling and responding to this type of digital attack. Attached are the current banners from the Patelco website. I will be keeping an eye out for updates (especially the part about contact from Patelco--was customer information hacked?), and will update my review accordingly. They credited me twice for a funds transfer to my savings account. The transaction summary looked like I made a double transfer. I have done that accidentally in the past. (Their interface is confusing.) I moved money out of that savings account. After several days, they realized they credited my account twice, and reversed one transaction, and charged me a fat NSF fee. That stinks. I have some joint accounts. I also added an individual loan account. The individual loan should NOT be visible to the person on my joint accounts. They said they can't do this. It doesn't seem compliant with federal law, but that's the way it is. The joint owner of my savings account can see my personal auto loan. Wow! I have a long and solid relationship with this institution. Most financial institutions make more funds available with no holds for their best customers. Not Patelco. I deposit funds and have to wait for the hold to be released before I can use them to pay bills. I had a bad experience with an auto loan. I have stellar credit in addition to the long relationship with Patelco. The seller of the used car also had a long relationship with Patelco as well. We showed up on a Saturday morning expecting the loan approval and transfer of ownership to be easy. Nope! Patelco said they couldn't close the auto loan on a Saturday because they couldn't verify that the title was a real, bona fide title. I had to take time off work to come in on Monday to complete the deal. Seriously, you couldn't trust that we weren't giving you a fake title?!? Again, they treated us more like criminals than valuable customers. Patelco got hacked. Now my SSN, address, phone number and other info is out there on the dark web. I get 10 times the number of scam attempts since this. Stay away. The loan rates are the cheapest around but you pay for it in the long run. read more

I was told I can withdraw cash from my Money Market account on the ATM machine on Patelco Noriega St. Today I tried and there's not even an option because I don't see the word "Money Market". It's only showing "Checking" "Savings" "Credit Card" and "Others". But I still tried to press the Others. And suddenly the screen was shut down. So impressed with the level of genuine care and compassion I experienced at Patelco Noriega Branch. Rosario, one of the branch managers, helped me with my very complicated banking situation over the span of several months. I really felt cared for as she truly hand held my account and even followed up with a phone call between my 2 lengthy bank appointments that I needed with her due to my situation ( the second appointment was needed as I had to wait for crucial government paperwork to arrive in the mail to fully set up the account ). Rosario worked hard to set me up with all the various accounts, checks, debit cards, etc and making sure everything was titled and processed exactly correct. I had such confidence that she was meticulously handling it as if it was her own bank account. My husband had to work that day and also couldnt leave our dog in the car alone and Rosario was so compassionate to let us keep switching off and get everything she needed from each of us while accommodating our life situation of not being able to both be there at the same exact time. The tellers who helped me were also super friendly, I could tell they went way above and beyond basic teller customer service and really wanted to be a good neighbor and friend and often greeted people by name before they even stepped up to the window. It really feels like a family and no one was rushed off like the big box banks. I was so impressed with Patelco's mission and values as well as how Rosario in particular not only treated me with the upmost professionalism, but also showed deep empathy for my personal situation. Rosario was also VERY detail oriented and made sure to cross every T and dot every I, while multiprocessing several of my accounts and tasks at the same time. I was so blown away by her calm manner and competence. Thank You Patelco and Rosario for making what could have been a very stressful and complicated experience - such a smooth transaction. Patelco Credit Union office is located in San Fransisco CA off of Noriega st. My visit into branch had been of purpose online over the phone scheduled appointment in branch office. Statement retrieving for proof document of account. My visit into branch had been self travel using personal transporation not being accompanied of any other persons during in branch office visit. My Patelco Credit Union account had been established at location where I had been residence of for several year as location is of a non smoking non drug usage area of space inside and all other vehicles that had been registered in my name. I had never made request for relocation. As account had been mainly use for every work commuted, court processing, medical appointments, court Child family visitation which I had not been able to have enjoyed taking my children out on any car rides to any outings or places of travel with me of self choice in own personal vehicle as this had been the 2nd vehicle registered in my name. This branch location is far uphill as I can never find parking on main parking street but more so near residential areas near by which is same walking distance. Normally I get my monthly statements send to me in mail but home space had disruptions which occurred in June 2023 that has placed me without having accessible access to my home space, and postal mail. Everyone is professional except one person (Maude). When I made a withdrawal for my mom's SSI she asked me what I was going to use the money for... Uhh my mom's expenses, I'm her representative payee... I was caught off guard by the question and just kind of blankly looked at her and said "bills and rent" but I shouldn't have even answered her, like I said, I was just caught off guard. I'm tracking my moms expenses and monitoring her funds so that she can have some dignity in her old age. My mother was disabled from a horrific car accident 30 years ago and is now also going blind from diabetes, do I really need to go over all of her expenses with you?! SSI is for disabled people. Why even ask me that? And here's my question for the Yelp community, has anyone else gone to a bank where the teller demands to know what you are using the money for before they're willing to give you the funds? I have been with Patelco for decades and have tried to be patient with the cyber attack. But today was the last straw. I got a car loan thru them about a week before the shut down. 1st payment is due early August but haven't received anything from them and it is not showing on my accounts. Finally decided to call it the hold time was almost 2 hours. Tried to do the chat. Took about 15 minutes to get a live person and she said she couldn't help but provided an extension to call. Was on hold for 28 minutes and a woman picked up. Told her about the loan, she said okay and then put my on hold and rolled me back to the start of the line. I'm done with this place. One lady was in the window. that was it. the other dude running around wouldnt even look up at the 4 people in line. Just running around, checking his phone, looking at his computer..
