He does a good job however lacks professionalism. He finished doing our chairs then sends email that we have 2 day to pick up the chairs. Who does that. In my eye, you do not give your clients 2 days notice to come get your stuff or wait till he gets back from where he is going. Being professional means you do your job and give your clients ample time to make arrangements to get their items. You don't give them 2 days notice. So not happy with this outcome. If was not for the fact he does a good job i would not recommend him if your looking for professionalism. Just beware if you have a job done make sure he gives you ample time to pick up your stuff. read more

Paul not only beautifully recaned and refinished some antique chairs for me, but at first sight knew their age and place of origin. THEN .... just after Christmas, I fell while carrying a prized possession of mine, a large, hand carved Court Jester I had purchased 50 years ago in Oberamergau, Germany! Paul is a true miracle worker. He has recaned chairs for my family many times but his recent effort was above and beyond. I have an antique drop-leaf farm table that my mother bought at an antique store in 1960. It has survived a fire and daily wear as our family's kitchen table for nearly 60 years. Paul did a beautiful job restoring it. As he worked he discovered hidden structural problems with the table that he was unaware of when he quoted the job. He took the time to correct these and be sure it was done right. In spite of the dozens of additional hours it took him to complete the restoration, he stuck with the price on his original quote. Been meaning to write a review of Citizen Cane for weeks now. I can't tell you how difficult it was to find someone, anyone, capable of fixing our woven chairs, but it was amazingly hard. It took nearly a year from the time our dogs destroyed one of our chairs until I found a place capable of doing the repair. Sorry to say that the work done on my 6 dining room chairs that needed to be recaned was terrible. Although it looks good but doesn't feel good, sitting on the chairs with your back on the cane, ruins blouses, sweaters etc. So rough, and splintery that now makes my chairs unusable. He was supposed to use "nippers" to fix the rough cane but didn't, and also when the chairs were brought home, the cushioned seats weren't even attached. oops. At the same time he placed a chair that he was working on, on a piece of upholstered furniture and poked a hole in it. The cane has a rough side to it and the other side, the backside of the chair, is flat, unfinished, and looks awful. And it cost a lot. He said his daughter was supposed to do the finishing, but didn't. I am not happy...... read more
