Partner and I decided to book a staycation since our good friends were getting married, and the venue was in Little Tokyo. I loved the décor, very modern and stylish. The customer service was also excellent, though it's a bit self-serve since you check yourself in, but there's staff available to help if needed. They have an on-site restaurant and bar, plus a really cool hangout area. The atmosphere is very trendy, and the rooms are small but efficiently designed to make good use of space. I'd definitely come back and recommend this place for a fun, stylish staycation!

I'd stay here again. It's definitely quirky, rooms felt like a cruise ship bedroom. Very compact, most space is well-planned and used well. Doors had some kind of seal on them that really helped with noise, I was impressed. Staff were extremely friendly. Sadly, the food menu is invaded with soap-cilantro and doesn't actually run 24 hours as claimed. The covers didn't stay tucked in with how the bed is constructed, which was a bit annoying. I wish the rooms had more hooks since there's very little storage space. And the shampoo is awful. But very affordable, trendy and decent amenities for the price. Great location.

This was my first stay at a citizenM hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised. I believe citizenM hotels worldwide are almost identical; their rooms are modular and pre-fabricated, facilitating construction. The first hotel opened in 2008; the brand was swallowed by the Marriott Bonvoy conglomerate in 2025. CitizenM's are branded as "Select" hotels by Marriott, with more limited services and amenities vs. their "Premium" and "Luxury" branded hotels. Courtyard, AC and Aloft are other "Select" brands. LA's branch opened in 2021 in a rather gritty part of DTLA. CitizenM's are all tech-forward. Unlike the AC brand's polar-opposite minimalistic design, citizenM's lobbies all look like living rooms with a variety of seating types and areas, lots of modern "art" on the walls, tons of dust-catching tchotchkes on shelves. Perfect for lounging, working, eating, socializing. There is always a bar/dining venue/snack shop called canteenM that's open 24 hours. They serve a breakfast buffet here (with a charge). There are meeting rooms (societyM) and some locations have a rooftop bar (CloudM), but LA only has a small terrace off the fitness centre. I liked how the 5 meeting rooms were individually designed with different light fixtures, tables, seating and decor. I took the Metro here; there are a couple of stops about 2 blocks away. I believe there are parking garages nearby, but there is no valet. Check in is via kiosks that scan your ID and credit card and activate your room key. There is an "ambassador" there to assist if needed. Note that check-in is at 2 pm. I tried to check-in early, but the ambassador first had to see if this was possible and then did some special computer maneuvers so that I could. I believe I was able to check in early because of room availability and possibly my mid-level Marriott Bonvoy status and the fact my reservation was prepaid. If not available, they can store your luggage. I knew beforehand that the rooms are petite, almost pod-like. They are smaller than a cruise ship cabin, but boy are they well-designed and tech-forward! The room is the width of the king bed, which has 2 drawers underneath--one for storage and one holds the safe. Note the bed is square, so you can sleep either parallel to or perpendicular to the window; the latter is recommended if there are 2 occupants so you don't have to climb over each other. There's a small desk, a bench and a fixture that houses the sink, trash bins, some shelving and even a small fridge! Opposite is the clouded-glass enclosed toilet and shower (with 2 heads, shampoo/body wash for AM and PM, conditioner). An iPad docked by the bed controls EVERYTHING in the room, included different coloured lighting in the shower. For such a small space there are quite a few light fixtures. There's a small open closet and a full-length mirror. The TV is mounted above the bed. There's also a small shelf with a few small books held upright by a faux Jeff Koons Balloon Dog piece. Note there are no washcloths or cups. The hotel tries to avoid plastic; the iPad advises you to get glasses and refillable bottles of water at the canteen. Ice can be supplied here as well. I found the room surprisingly quiet. I was expecting more noise from outside and well as from the hallway. There are no irons in the room, but there are special ironing rooms on the even-numbered floors. The decent fitness centre is on the 10th floor along with the aforementioned terrace. Of special note is the carpeting in the hallways. It shows aerial views of various (labeled) LA landmarks. Wow! I took a peek at the canteen menu. It's fairly limited after breakfast, so I went to the famous Grand Central Market around the corner. I also liked DTLA Cheese Superette near the Market, and Le Draq across the street from citizen. The breakfast buffet looked decent, with hot and cold items (including smoked salmon), and the breads were from Larder Baking Company, owned by famed chef Suzanne Goin and business partner Caroline Styne. Overall a very nice and surprisingly impressive and pleasant stay! I much prefer this brand over AC!

I forgot to book a hotel for an overnight and Citzen M was affordable and available. Well.... The place has a great vibe. Check in was a breeze and the staff was super helpful. I had head the rooms are micro small (and they are) but the thoughtfulness they put into the rooms made it welcoming and relaxing. The king sized bed was a delight. One thing... they need an electric socket on the "window" side of the bed. The bar stays open til 1am and they serve food til midnight. We got bq k from a show and had the pot stickers (good) but we're pretty spendy for five. The truffle fries were great. The aioli was also good. They have hot tea that was delicious. All in all this was a good place to stay and will certainly book here again.

This hotel was perfect for a work trip , the room is small but functional.the breakfast is superb and the staff too. I really recommend this to anyone that will like to stay in DTLA close to the financial district. They don't have parking on site and your credit card need to match the reservation but every else is nice, they even have a game that you can play with the changing light on the bathroom! There pillows and blankets are amazing you melt on them! Do not skip this hotel in DTLA on your next visit ! Shootouts to Jay is n the front desk

Room is as wide as the bed, which is on a platform and is flush against the window.

This is my first time staying at this property and I have to say, I really enjoyed this place. It is sort of a cross between a hotel and a hostel. Rooms are very small but extremely well laid out. Bed was nice and firm, water pressure was good, room was very clean. Breakfast was good, I particularly appreciated the roasted cherry tomatoes, served along side the roasted potatoes and scrambled eggs and bacon. So many breakfast buffets are heavy on the meat and no vegetables (I'm looking at you, Residence Inn). Another thing that was new to me was the ironing station in a separate room on my floor. Rather than having irons or steamers in the room, there is a common area on some floors with an ironing board and a commercial-ish grade steam iron. I had a lot of wrinkled clothes and found this iron worked much better than the kind I usually find in hotel rooms at other hotels. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Brandon for helping me stow my suitcase. Will definitely be back.

Still my go to hotel for Downtown LA. Not in the middle of action, but tucked away a nice distance when you want to unwind. Bus & Metro rail stations are a short distance away. Block & a half away from Grand Central Market. And a short bus ride to Crypto Arenas. There are some "interesting" sights & activity. But it's LA, that's any and everywhere. I wholeheartedly recommend & will be back.

After I semi snuck into the Hellman building downtown, the first high rise in LA built in 1903, I wandered into this hotel, bar restaurant explosion of modern wonderment with each area unique unto itself called CitizenM Los Angeles Downtown. From restored 1903 to this explosion of color, art, whimsy with a great bar and fascinating alcoves each with its own mood and a cathedral ceiling that makes things spacious yet oddly intimate at the same time. I grabbed a cocktail and soaked in this joint wondering how long the old bones in the chair had been sitting doing the same. Everywhere one feasts your eyes there is something extraordinary to see. I hope to check out a room next time.

I absolutely loved this location. I went for a Work related event, but I would definitely stay here again. Yes, the rooms are small, but they're very cute and comfortable, the only drawback is the hotel has no actual parking, there is parking across the street that you must pay, but it's small, so you might or might not get a parking spot. The check was easy to do you do it yourself, but there's someone always there in case you can't over. I had breakfast there for only $20 and it's a buffet, so a very good price for what you get. I would definitely stay again.

Great location within walking distance to restaurants and Grand Central Market. You have to appreciate the digitally enabled experience, from kiosk checkin to the iPad controlled room. The room size is perfect for me when I'm traveling alone. I've stayed in this location a few times and each time has been consistent, in terms of service and room cleanliness.

One star off because this hotel has NO PARKING but we found a garage a couple blocks away. Really inconvenient when you have a bunch of bags to carry. Now the good, service was awesome and it's like staying in an art gallery, so much to see! It does have a younger clientele but it was still quiet and peaceful. The rooms are like cruise ship cabins, but very fun, clean, and tech forward. The bed was so comfortable with a nice down duvet. Breakfast was good and the bar was also nice. We will definitely stay here again!

This was actually our second time staying at CitizenM and we had a great experience again. CitizenM is an affordable option and is even more reasonably priced than most AirBnBs in LA with a good location and without the extra fees. The rooms are kind of small, but I don't mind it as the bed is comfy and very clean and the room has great blackout curtains. Every employee I've spoken to has been so very nice. The branding is a little funny because the constant "welcome home, citizen" messaging feels very teenage dystopian novel but it gives me a laugh. They decorated our room on the top floor for us and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine and brownies for our anniversary on top of preparing a cute card, which I didn't expect but really appreciated. We grabbed drinks in the lobby and chatted with the bartender Beba, who was cheerful and funny and had really positive things to say about working at CitizenM, and I always appreciate hearing about a company that treats its employees well.

I stayed for two nights at Citizens DTLA in downtown LA, near Little Tokyo and had a pretty solid experience. The location is prime, right on the corner of South Spring Street, with a parking garage next door and an open lot across the street, though there's no on-site parking. There are a few free spots in front, but parking is definitely a bit of a hassle, so keep that in mind. As soon as you walk in, the vibes are vibing. Don't expect a typical hotel. Expect to feel like you're walking into someone's funky living room filled with art and good energy. The check-in process is pretty cool too. No traditional desk here! You check in at a table with a row of iPads. You scan your ID, select your room preferences (courtyard view or street view, low or high floor), and you make your own key card. It's pretty self-explanatory, but there's an employee around to help if needed. Doors lock around 9pm which I thought was pretty easy so you gonna need to buzz to get into the spot on your first night. The hotel has a nice bar that was poppin both nights I was there, and the vibe overall is great if you're looking to work or just chill. There are a ton of spots to plug in your laptop. There were booths, open seating, and private chairs so it's perfect for remote work or a quick group meeting. The elevators are quick, and with only 10 floors, it doesn't take long to get to your room. My room was on the smaller side, which could feel a bit cramped, but it's equipped with all the smart tech you could want. The iPad in the room controls everything from lighting, TV, blinds and you can even adjust the mood with different lighting options (dimmed lights, bright lights, different colors etc). The bed was an XL King, and I slept perfectly. The bathroom is pretty compact, with a handheld shower and waterfall option. It's just big enough for one person (maybe two if you're cozy), but the shower is nice, and the sink has filtered water so you can drink straight from it. A few things to note: there's no iron in the room, but there are community irons on four floors. There's also a tiny gym on the top floor, which has a few dumbbells and a couple of treadmills, so not a lot of options for a full workout. The lack of parking definitely costs it a star, but overall, the hotel is clean, well-maintained, and has everything I needed for a short stay. I'd definitely come back, especially as a solo traveler or with a partner. I wouldn't stay for more than a couple of nights since the rooms are small, but for a quick getaway in downtown LA, it's a great spot!

Last night, I saw a young woman enter the hotel clearly under the influence alongside a young man. At first, I assumed they were together, but something about the situation felt off. The young man seemed to be following her and trying to control the interaction while insisting she was "fine" and didn't need help. What stood out to me was that Joy did not simply take his word for it. She stepped in, calmly took control of the situation, and continued checking on the young woman despite the man trying to speak over her. After some back and forth, I heard Joy directly ask the young woman if she knew the man. Shockingly, the young woman said no. At that moment, Joy immediately asked the man to step away and questioned why he claimed to know her and why he was following her. Once confronted, the man left. From what I witnessed, the young woman was then safely escorted and able to recover in safety. As a bystander, I cannot express how much respect I have for Joy. In today's world, many people would have ignored the situation or brushed it off as people "just having fun." Instead, Joy trusted her instincts and potentially protected that woman from a very dangerous situation. Because of her attentiveness and courage, that young woman was able to safely wake up without a stranger in her room or something far worse happening to her. Watching this unfold honestly made me feel safer staying at this property. Employees like Joy are rare, and the Conrad should be incredibly grateful to have someone so observant, compassionate, and proactive representing their hotel. On behalf of that young woman and as someone who witnessed everything unfold, thank you, Joy, for stepping in when it mattered most. The world needs more people like you. Keep up the amazing work.

The bathroom has a separate walk in shower and separate tub. Where I feel this place is a bit outdated was the lack of USB ports for charging. The desk had an outlet built in but one of the power sources was not working. I had to do some work and needed to plug my laptop into the one working plug. But I also needed my cell phone and wanted to keep it charged. I had to unplug the lamp to use the power supply. There is another plug on the nightstand but that would have meant leaving the phone on the other side of the room and I needed the phone while I was working. But because I had to unplug the lamp, I had to work in the dark (it was evening). I can't remember the last time I was in a hotel room that didn't have USB ports so you could charge your phone at the desk and at the nightstand. I could have called the desk and I'm sure they would have given me another room but I was all settled in. Movies; this is the first time I have been in a hotel of this caliber where you had to pay for movies. Certainly I have been in other hotels where you pay for "some" movies, but not all. Usually there is free Showtime or HBO. No, I didn't travel to watch a movie, but sometimes it's nice when winding down in the evening or to have on in the background when working. They did offer some recent movies and even some that I think are still in theaters. Of course I would expect to pay; but most other top named hotels I would be able to watch movies for free. They do provide the opportunity to log into your Netflix and/or Amazon account.

It's such a big city and we wanted to stay somewhere central and safe. We were on a girls trip with our daughters. First, our check in experience was great. Michelle checked us in and was sure to let us know about the amenities available. She gave us completamentary drink tickets, and extra waters which was so kind. We had requested adjoining rooms which was so convenient with our two girls. Our rooms were spacious, and clean and perfect. The lobby always had infused water for everyone, and some kind of treat. In the mornings, there was fresh ( surprisingly amazing) coffee and pastries. Another day, we came down and found fresh watermelon juice, and bruschetta with tomato and cheese. Another day, there were petit fours for us. A HUGE perk of staying there is the car service. They will drive you anywhere from the hotel within a three mile radius and you can call them to pick you up and bring you back as well. We used this s much and it really saved us alot of money, and we felt lots safer in the company of their wonderful drivers instead of random Uber drivers or walking around in an unknown city. Robin, Henry, Robert, and Oscar made our trip so memorable. All of the folks that worked there made us feel like royalty. Every time we stepped towards the doors, they were being held open for us. Just spectacular service! We even got a late checkout and Roberto ( nice eyebrows) was so sweet to bring new keys up to our room since our old ones would deactivate before we checked out. When I say I'd recommend this place to everyone..I'm saying it with my chest. It was really the best hotel experience I have had in a very long time. 3 of the drivers we chatted with had been with the company for 30 years! Omni must treat their employees well and because of that, their customer service shines. It's service like this that will make us lifelong customers.

According to their website, the hotel has been designated with a Michelin Key. -Ambiance: Vibrant colors paired with elegant design elements throughout. The lobby and courtyard are especially stunning. -Design: Thoughtfully designed spaces, including a courtyard with cushioned seating, a fountain, and two gas fire pits--perfect for relaxing. -Location: Conveniently within walking distance to the Hollywood Bowl and Hollywood Blvd. -Upgrade: We were upgraded at no additional cost--a pleasant and unexpected surprise. -Fun Fact: A reality show I watch, 90 Day Fiancé on TLC, filmed at this hotel--and coincidentally, we stayed in the same room. How cool is that? Feedback: -Provide additional waste receptacles in the lobby and guest rooms; currently, there is only one in the bathroom. -Consider switching to key cards instead of manual keys for added convenience. Helpful Info: -Complimentary Breakfast: The website description is misleading--breakfast is only "complimentary" if you pay a $30 service fee, which is actually tied to internet access. Worth paying the service fee if you need reliable internet. Our connection in the room was spotty--we had to step outside our room to get a stable signal. -Phone Coverage: Staffing is limited, with one team member often covering multiple roles (front desk, valet, driver, breakfast prep). As a result, calls may occasionally go unanswered. -Parking: Valet parking is available on-site for $45 per day. -Accessibility: The property has only two levels and no elevators, which may be challenging for guests with mobility concerns. Final Verdict: Highly recommend based on the stellar customer service, prime location, and beautifully designed ambiance.

It's also walking distance to Grand Central Market and the Metro A and E lines. As for the hotel itself, it was overall nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable. However, we did have to switch rooms near the end of our stay due to some plumbing issues that affected a few rooms. Although inconvenient, I thought it was handled well. We were quickly placed in a new room at no extra charge. We had breakfast at the restaurant once (mainly for the convenience) but didn't care too much for it. There are so many better options nearby. Overall, a positive experience.

I'm a big fan of Hilton hotels, and perhaps I've been pampered too much by my many stays at…read moredifferent locations. Which may be why I'm a little disappointed by this particular location. I was there for a five night stay. First of all, the location is at the edge of Little Tokyo, so there are lots of good eating places. If you feel like taking the Metro rail system to explore Los Angeles, there's a station a couple of blocks away (the E Line will take you west to Santa Monica). Unfortunately, there are a number of homeless that wander around the area, but not too many, especially compared to the Garment District further south. As far as the rooms go, the beds are very firm and comfortable. Air conditioning/temperature control worked well. I was surprised there was no microwave in the room. Just about every hotel has a microwave in every room but not this one. Bathroom was small with only 2 towel hooks; it could have used a couple of towel racks because there was nowhere to hang all the different towels (bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths). WiFi was strong and didn't have to login constantly. Only 3 out of the 4 elevators were working, which made for long waits, especially since the elevator cars were so small. Many of the ice machines were out of order, including our floor (7th), 17, 20, and 21 (construction on 19th). Had to use ice machines on 16 and 18. And there was only an out-of-order sign on the door to the ice machine on the 21st floor after I made a complaint. The parking fee of $49 per day for guests seems excessive, especially when there was a day where the self-parking ran out of space (I think because there was some sort of convention at the hotel) and we couldn't do self-parking. $25 per day would seem more reasonable. The hotel seems to be very popular with tourists, especially those from Japan and Korea who were there to watch a baseball game (Shohei Ohtani is very popular), so it's a bit busy during baseball season. Quite a few tour buses parked out front. And the valet area is very small for pick-ups and drop-offs.

The clerk wasn't outright rude, but for the first several minutes seemed pretentious, like I wasn't good enough to stay there. He didn't introduce himself or ask my name; I introduced myself and asked his name after check-in, and he warmed up a bit. It felt like I'd caught him doing something wrong or arrived before he was ready. I had to ask multiple questions because he didn't offer information or engage. My customer service was on point--his, not so much. I'd been driving all day and was exhausted, wearing very casual clothes, but he felt very judgey. I asked to see the rooms after reading reviews. The first was rundown and not worth the $150 he quoted. He kept going into the back office between questions, implying he was busy or nearly full (there was only one car outside). When I asked to see the other side of the hotel, which had allegedly been updated, he bragged about being fully booked, though I only ever saw three cars. Odd. The second room was just okay, but I was too tired to find another hotel, so I stayed one night. Few things frustrate me more than visible neglect and lack of detail. There were drywall screw heads popping out, scuffed walls, holes, and water-damaged bathroom drywall from a poorly placed glass shower door--crumbling onto the floor. The floor itself was dirty. The outer entry door was peeling badly, shedding bits of clear coating onto the floor and my hands. The blinds appeared to not have been cleaned in months--which should be done regularly. The bed frame was filthy--dust, debris, bits of wrappers and food. It was clearly dirty, with oils, handprints, and dried liquids (I'll leave that to your imagination). The closet doors, off-white, had visible hand grime. The disinfectant wipes I used were brown - yuck. The lamp was dusty, an outlet near the bed had a broken metal piece stuck inside, and both the bathroom vent and hair dryer were caked with dust. The dryer filter hadn't been cleaned in ages. The countertop above the mini fridge was detaching, the bathroom shelf was decaying, and the shower glass hadn't been cleaned. The creamy drip marks on the wall--hopefully conditioner or soap--remained, and the grout was mold-stained. A simple bleach spray would've fixed it. The shower water pressure was awful, with calcification that needs vinegar soaking. It also leaked from the stem. Meanwhile, the sink had too much pressure. The cleaning staff were wonderful--always offering help. The issues here clearly stem from management, not staff. I realize this isn't a four-star hotel and that my standards are higher than average. Having worked in property management and emergency response, I've been in many homes across all conditions and know what "clean" should look like. I attached photos (which don't even capture all of it) so others can decide for themselves. Public beds and showers should be cleaned frequently so dust, germs, and bugs don't build up. The initial clerk did warm up by the end, and wasn't outright rude, just awkward and pretentious at first. When I checked out, a different man was working. He was extremely pushy, insisting I stay longer despite me saying I had to get back on the road. Then he handed me a clipboard and said it was mandatory to fill out--a sheet listing my name, room number, and space for comments, stacked under previous guests' notes. I told him I'd review the hotel online instead. He insisted I fill in each section, so under "comments" I wrote "review on Yelp." Other than being pushy, he was friendly--but it was an annoying end to a stay that wasn't worth the cost. Not the worst stay I've had, but definitely not one I'd repeat.

Once there, our cabana was perfectly set up with a personalized name stand--a great touch. The cabana was spacious with comfy seating, a mini fridge (stocked with 3 waters, 3 sodas, and a complimentary fruit platter), plus fresh towels, lounge chairs, and sunscreen available for everyone at the pool's front desk. A couple of logistics to know: parking is valet only at the hotel and it was $65, so I recommend finding a smaller, more affordable lot in the surrounding area if you want to save some money. Staff was so friendly and attentive the whole day. There's a QR code you can use to order food and drinks right to your cabana, which was super convenient. It was a hot day and a really nice gentleman kept stopping by to offer extra ice--such a thoughtful detail. Bathrooms are just outside the glass pool enclosure (key card needed for re-entry), but they're large, spotless, and even have showers. The pool itself is big with a separate jacuzzi and you get stellar views of the LA Live area from the rooftop. Watching the sunset from up there was the perfect way to close out our day. We're officially hooked on using JW for our pool days and will definitely be back!

The room in terms of design did not disappoint. I booked this place as a staycation option to get work done and with the minimalistic aesthetic and minimal distractions I was able to accomplish what I sought out . Overall, the mini perks like the free waters, which were brands that I normally purchase as well as the welcome drink helped to make up for the minor issues with the room. It's a boutique hotel . I think if I did paid more, I would be more upset and also expect more but given this price point, during low season it's a fair price . Michael, who was working the reception desk and Café was also very friendly and welcoming, and answered my questions to the best of his ability . Overall, the people that work here are really lovely, especially Kofi and Felix , great job hiring managers! I would book again without hesitation for the right price .

Our room faced the rear of the hotel overlooking the golf course and consisted of the beautiful lake. The room was spacious and clean, and fully equipped with things that make you feel like you're at home: plates, cups, bowls, utensils, + a full sized fridge. Bonus points because complimentary breakfast is offered daily. Hours of operation M-Fri are from 6am-9am. Weekend hours are from 7am-10am. This is absolutely THE BEST complimentary breakfast spread I have ever had the pleasure of taking part in. Granted, most places I've stayed @ doesn't offer this. Here you will find a waffle station with all of the toppings you could imagine, eggs, ham, sausage patties, assortment of cereals, yogurt, fruit cups, and fresh fruit. While I am not sure how great the options are for a vegetarian standpoint but I did notice meatless patties. My complaints: 1)The lighting within the room are positioned horribly. Whether you decide to use the restroom light or the ones located in the dining|kitchen area as a nightlight, they are both extremely bright making it difficult to sleep. My toddler and I struggled to sleep soundly due to us being sensitive sleepers. 2)Someone triggered the fire alarm during our stay. Walking down 6 flights of stairs with a toddler is already tough but adding in groups and groups of other patrons caused for more traffic than I was ready for. Once we made it back to the lobby we were told it was a false alarm. **insert EYE ROLLS emoji** 4 stars overall. Our stay was comfortable and parking was never an issue.
