Instead, the closest one began treating me like a *criminal* right off the bat, ordering me around like I was working the pole, like it had had a few too many, and it was the one holding all the singles. "Take off your hat! Take off your glasses! Take off your mask! Take off your pants!..." All I wanted was for them to exchange the $400 in 20s from the ATM for Four hundred dollar notes. Apparently, this is "against policy". WTF?? What kind of policy prohibits a bank teller from making change?! OK, fine--I asked "why?" Thinking they were either going to come to their senses, and realize that I was asking them to do nothing more than that which bank tellers have been doing since the inception of bank tellers...or I was going to get a good story about a whole new level of absolute abject idiocy in corporate America. Instead, now TWO people started raising their voices at me simultaneously. I stopped them three times and told them three times that I cannot understand two people shouting at me at the same time and to decide who wants to talk to me... ...at which point, a very large and angry man added his voice to the attacks, and moved aggressively toward me. I couldn't understand a thing that any one of the three were yelling at me at this point. And I was getting actually scared. I grabbed my money and ran!! This is classic BULLYING! I'm a small person. The three of these people outweigh me by close to SIX TIMES. Toward the end there, I actually feared for my life. Once I got away, it dawned on me that I had been in this place before, and been treated equally as bad! Stupid me!!! UFCU needs to get its ass to Hutto ASAP! The difference between these two credit unions is the difference between your sweet old Grandmother baking us cookies and milk (UFCU) vs. three Hells Angels cornering you in the prison shower!

I showed up today to cash checks (my employer banks here), and despite a long wait with no one else in line, I was patient. It took awhile to cash them but I get it, it happens. Finally the money arrives and without counting I put it in my wallet. I stay there to send a few texts because as I said, there was no one else in line - and suddenly hear the teller talking over the speaker again, but she sounds annoyed, "ma'am, I need you to send that back. I gave you the wrong amount." I checked it and sure enough, she was right. She gave me an extra hundred dollars. So I told her, "yep you were right I'm going to send back the $100!." she immediately changed her tone to even more annoyed, and says "No, I need you to send the whole amount." At this point I'm already late for work and know that if I argue with her it will take even more time, so I give up and send it back. She doesn't apologize or anything once I finally receive the money, as a matter fact her voice almost sounded more joyful whenever I explained how she was making me late. As a service industry person myself, this was the weirdest and rudest banking experience I've ever had. As a teller, if you make a mistake like that, it's on you. Once you start treating the customer like a criminal (I must have used Jedi mind trick to get that money from her), you're the bad guy. Also, I've never had a bank teller do this in my life - that's a pretty big mistake to make. Disappointed because aside from this instance they've always been great. I don't know why I got treated like I stole the money, but I'm still glad I complied and did as she asked even if she was totally impolite and out of line.

I've banked with Horizon in Austin and Salado for 4 years and closed my account today after the branch on Technology blvd treated me as if I was the scammer. I did all the necessary steps to report it and even paid 5 dollars for a new card to protect the bank and myself from any further charges. They temporarily refunded the money to my account until the fraud department received word from a completely different website that refuted my claim saying I received the product and that I was just trying to not have to pay for it. Instead of contacting me to investigate further they decided to put a debit dispute revoked for 81.90 on my account. As if I would bank with them for 4 years then decide to start scamming with my account. Ridiculous. When I went to the branch to withdraw my money and close the account and contact the BBB the drive up teller I was contacted by was very unprofessional and rude when I asked for a pen that I did in fact need, he got frustrated and yelled " I JUST ASKED IF YOU NEEDED A PEN!" Not really what I expect from Horizon so I inquired who I was speaking to and was ignored on that question but to my great surprise I looked down at the withdrawal slip and it says J Martin. Definitely not recommending the technology blvd branch of horizon to anyone of friends but the one in Salado has a great staff that actually cares about its clients.
