Whenever I've passed by this place in the past, I always thought it was another California'd place that made its way here. Maybe it is, idk. One day after having lunch at Whole Foods, I decided to cross the street and check it out. I'm always looking for places to read. The inside is massive. So many desks, tables, workspaces, etc. If you're looking for a place to work, this is one of the best I've seen in the area. I got one of their seasonal drinks, and it was good, but not great. I sat on one of their couches and read for an hour or two. The overhead music isn't very loud, so it was easier to concentrate. Capitol One Café is a convenient place to grab coffee if shopping in the Domain shopping Center. It is located across the street from Whole Foods right off of Mopac. Capitol One combines banking services in their building with a full on coffee shop. They serve Verve coffee and assorted pastries. I ordered the iced honey lavender latte, which is subtly flavorful with notes of lavender. The coffee shop has seating indoors and outdoors. Also, as a Capitol One customer you can also rent booths at the back of the coffee shop. The coffee shop feels like a place for student or remote working as there were so many open laptops while visiting. Fortunately, while they had some Capitol One pin wheels and bookmark give aways, there were no Capitol One staff pushing their services. It felt like any other coffee shop, I have visited. This is great spot for coffee and chit chat. The space is large, open with plenty of couches and tables. Our book club meeting was held here last month and we found semi private tables at the back end of the cafe. It wasn't too noisy so we could clearly hear each other and had a thoughtful discussion over coffee and croissants! read more

My wife and I just signed up for a Capital One Venture card earlier this year, and we just finally entered the capital one lounge for the first time during this holiday season. I didn't know what to expect to be honest. I thought it was gonna be more of a business building and some small lounge to the side. But no I was completely wrong. The inside is HUGE and has tons of space for people to work, drink coffee and have food too. The vibe in here is also really nice and homey. There are also some rooms off to the back and side where you can host meetings or talk to someone about banking options with Capital One. I'm sure you also know this, but if you use your card at the coffee bar you get 1/2 off drinks. So normally getting something like we got would have been 14 something at Starbucks. Over here it was around $7.50 I would love to come back and see what different seasonal items are available during that time. I like coming here for the cafe, but it's an alright place to get work done. The drinks themselves are really good. I love the seasonal menus. Like the iced cinnamon maple latte is so delicious. And their matchas are pretty quality. And they're especially worth it if you have a capital one card. Or if they're running their free drinks on Mondays deal. Before we came to this establishment we called to see if they were "dog friendly." We were told yes but they can't eat or drink ins so off we went. I can certainly see why this place has as many negative reviews about the service! Our dog barked twice and we were told we'd need to take him outside if he could not "behave." if you're not truly dog friendly just say outside only. We would've been fine with that. Heck yeah. Just signed up for the Capital One venture card at the end of September/beginning of October. Was pretty stoked to check out this café. The inside was honestly a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be, and there was a solid amount of people in there. When we first walked in, I'm guessing we looked a little lost, because one of the agents who stands around to speak to people approached us and asked if this was our first time, asked which card we had, and then directed us to where to order our drinks. They were very friendly. They have sofa and lounge chairs plus a a lot of tables to work at. I got a cardamom Matcha latte with almond milk, and my husband got one of their seasonal drinks, something with gingerbread I believe. Got them both hot. They were delicious! I did witness one girl who got a Matcha latte go back up to the counter and ask the barista's if they could make it sweeter. And the barista told her that that cost extra, but then also pointed her over to I am guessing where they had like sugar packets or what not. Thankfully, I'm OK with the earthier flavor of matcha, plus the cardamom really gave it a nice kick. Since they do charge extra for non-dairy milk, or liquid sweeteners -- it really does help the fact that Capital One card holders get 50% off their order. So I can justify the extra add-ons if I wanted to. Two drinks that would generally cost about $12-$15 at Starbucks, only cost us about $7.50 here. Not to mention they also have pretty sweet deals on Wednesdays, at least until the end of the year. To heck with SB! I'm coming here from now on. You really can't beat the price. They have ATMs off to the side, which is helpful. And I didn't get to explore the entire area, but I believe they also have meeting rooms as well that you could rent if need be. THE BLACK AND WHITE: Love the Capital One cafe concept. I get the double sell of coffee and banking services. The coffee selection is pretty nice here and the amenities (wifi, seating) is so much better (and cleaner) than a Starbucks. Ordering is right at the front of the cafe and there's an intermediary space that allows for withdrawals from an ATM. If I lived closer, I'd frequent this cafe as my third place to switch up the monotony of wfh. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall prices for cafe drinks are reasonable ranging from drips to high $2s and handcrafted drinks around high $4s. Great place for heads down work. read more

We enjoyed our first time visiting the Capital One cafe. It's spacious, while the noise level is on the lower end. However we visited on a weekday morning before lunch time started. They have recently made the switch from Peet's coffee to Verve, while they have a good but smell collection of snacks. Service from the barista was pleasant, professional, and helpful when picking our drink options. Located across Whole Foods within The Domain it can be a walk considering there is limited / timed parking close by, however the walk from one of the parking garages is not much if you can handle it. Always recommend getting there early to beat the crowd and sit by a plug if needed or get one of the rooms if you have meeting and need a quieter space, as it fills up after 9:30am. Staff is always friendly, have banked with them for years so the discounted drinks/snacks help, and the noise is always at a decent level. Clean, friendly, efficient. This space is super inviting, and when I joked that people are running their company out of this cafe, the barista said, "You'd be surprised." I'm updating this because I went again and this time, my latte was well made. I've been to coffee shops before where the baristas don't care how to properly steam the milk. I was under the impression that this cafe was just like that. I must have previously gotten drinks made by a barista under training because the quality difference was night and day. This time, the milk was properly steamed and the espresso ratio was perfect. I also got a cold brew with a splash of oat milk and that was delicious as well. I'm bumping up the rating to four stars from three because of the uneven experience. Capital One Cafe is a Peet's Coffee Shop inside a branch of the Capital One Bank. If you are an account holder, you get half price coffee. In the 1940's banks used to give people toasters for opening accounts. Now they give people lattes. Back in the 1940's toasters were pretty expensive. So getting a toaster was a big deal. How useful the lattes are depends on whether you work in the North half of the Domain. If your office was right near Whole Foods Domain, those discounted lattes could add up over time. Note also that Capital One Bank is a hungry bank that is looking to break into a fairly closed consumer marketplace. I did not talk banking deals with the friendly banking associate. (I didn't want to get coronavirus and die.) But I would not be surprised if the banking lady in cool tech yuppie clothes actually had some attractive terms. So sharing a latte with her is not an entirely stupid proposition if you are shopping for banking services. In the meantime - for those of us who use Yelp to review food rather than financial services, how is Capital One Cafe as a restaurant experience? 1) The mocha is pretty damm tasty, thank you very much. 2) If you are shrewd, you sit across the street in the yuppie artsy lawn chairs of the home furniture store across the street. This way you get a great view of the plantings and forest areas of the Domain while you drink your coffee. This can turn into a pretty sweet "day in the park". 3) If you stay on premises and want to stay outside so you don't die, you just get one outdoor bench that is pretty spartan. Fun potential goes way down. 4) Their double chocolate muffin is the bomb. No that does not mean it is magnificently good. No that does not mean it is the pits. Yes, it does mean that the muffin blows up, literally all over your shirt, your pants and your seat. The muffin falls apart every time your mouth gets anywhere near it - let alone if you actually take a bite. Maybe the muffin has lifetime aspirations of being clothing rather than being food. Maybe the muffin likes high dry cleaning bills. My own theory is that the muffin has embraced the theory of chaos and is seeking entropy every chance it gets. Either way eating was more of a war than a pleasure. What ended up in my mouth tasted okay. Most of that muffin decorated the rest of the Domain. * * * Still, if you wanted to do your banking in the Domain, the Capital One Cafe could be a good deal. Triple that if you intend to buy your latte there everyday. And as for the exploding muffins, Maybe they will let you keep your muffin in a safe deposit box as a security measure. read more

This is not your normal bank location with red carpet, wood paneling, and mustard colored furniture but a ultra modern space designed around a hip coffee shop. Capital One bank employees walk around with tablets to help you with banking services and the ATM machines tucked away in a corner. This is a great place to work where the furniture is very comfortable, desks available, and there is even private glass cubicles in case you need to talk privately on the phone or with a bank employee. I came in here to grab some java and they serve Peet's Coffee. I also purchased a bag of coffee beans to take home with me. They were also providing free pastries to sample. The whole place is cozy and quiet. It's a great place to work at. I forgot to ask but I imagine they have a WiFi connection to connect to. As I mentioned they serve Peet's Coffee and mine was very smooth tasting. I have been to the one downtown and both have nice and friendly staff. read more
