This place smells brand new, which is wonderful (like that new car smell). The rooms are large, and…read morestylish. Lighting is great, room temperature controls work quickly, and you can't hear anything in the hallway (but if you have a bunch of 2-to 6-year-olds in the room above you, you'll know). Wireless internet connectivity is very quick for being free, so no need to pay for an upgrade. I went for a morning walk around the property before dawn (staying on sidewalks) and everything was safe (mostly well lit). The gym is large, equipment new and clean, towels are provided, and water dispenser works. No one was using the pool but it's there! Finally, I ordered food from the Bistro restaurant in the lobby. It's usually a bad choice, but not here. They put a lot of effort into the drinks AND food. I got the espresso martini (doesn't need the simple syrup, IMHO) and it was the best I've had in a while (people keep adding weird things to these drinks elsewhere or it ends up being coffee milk-- iykyk). The Turkey Avocado BLT (sans bacon for me) and side arugula salad (fresh baby arugula, cucumbers and tomatoes!!) was large and a great value for 12.50. They don't joke about the Texas toast and they aren't skimping with the avocado. The salad was large enough that I got it "to go" and made it my lunch the next day. The grilled chicken sandwich was also delicious and had fresh ingredients. Honestly, I don't have criticism to provide. Best business trip hotel I've stayed in while traveling in the Midwest.

Technology was very and TV was easy to work Bar, and evening food was excellent. No free breakfast, so that was a downer. We checked in on Sunday afternoon at 2:36 pm. not a car in the parking lot and were told our room was not ready. The Clerk then said they had two weddings and baseball team, so they were behind in getting rooms ready. She said check in was at 3!!!! Fortunately the facility overcame her attitude. We sat in lobby until our room was ready right at 3? That encounter was difference between Good and Great

It's how they respond to guests who've been bitten that defines them. In this instance, Hilton failed me. My photo shows some of the over 75 bites I got during my last stay. There's really no place I could have gotten them but here. I drove from Chicago, so didn't pick them up flying. When I followed up with the hotel, they assured me there were no bugs in my room, but they had it treated anyway. (Why treat a room that's not infested?) I asked for a copy of the exterminator's report and never received it. Next I contacted Hilton Corporate, and they emailed me that Hilton takes no responsibility for bed bugs in their hotels... it's up to each hotel to settle problems. So I'm out a set of luggage and a week of intense itching, a doctor's visit and meds... plus dry cleaning clothes that can't be washed in hot water. I've stayed in this hotel four times while visiting family, and it's definitely gone downhill. Too bad, because they have a great workout area, the rooms are spacious and the bed is comfortable... but my room was never cleaned during this stay, not even fresh towels. And the free breakfast featured dried out egg sandwiches, stale muffins and no fruit. So disappointed in Hilton.

A person would think they would have more available on the property itself. The idea is to keep people at the casino and playing. We go off property for lunch also. I don't know maybe a person needs to bring food along like packing for a picknick? ‍We bought two cups of black coffee at $3.50 each and the coffee was barely warm. Many of themed slots they had for years that we did like to play are gone. We have fewer for choices, that's for sure. At least they have kept some of the older slots which is a plus. We had some problems with our room. Our mattress at home is a newer firm mattress. The mattress here appeared to be a newer one and it wasn't firm....it was outright HARD. Just about like laying on a piece of plywood, well almost. My wife could only sleep on it about 3-4 hours and then slept on the couch. That wasn't much more comfortable. Maybe they got some deal on them when they replaced a number of them at once or something? If that's what happened we don't think it was a very good deal. And this is from people such as us that prefer a firm mattress so, IDK. Some problem with HVAC. If you get the temp about correct for the front room the bedroom is very cold. Confusing thermostat, no selection if it's set for heat or A/C. Just arrows up and down for temp. I've never seen a thermostat like that anywhere that I've ever stayed before, not ever. We tried to call down and get a blanket from housekeeping or the front desk but when you press the buttons on the phone for housekeeping or front desk they are "busied out". They just go to a busy signal and that's it. Bad enough if just staying for one night, but more than one night, not good. Seemed like to us that some taking are of the customer is in need.

Wi-Fi signal good and consistent. Being on first floor on a Friday night, I feared potential "thump, thump, thump" from above, but the place was surprisingly quiet. The view out my window overlooked a nice, quiet expanse of lawn with, I think, a school and some other newer building nearby. But all was quiet on that fair western front. Could be nice place for kids to go out and play catch or otherwise burn up energy if needed, though there's no playground. There is an indoor pool, which I didn't use. Can't comment on breakfast because I slept in and missed it. Check-out time is 11 a.m. When I awoke at 10:30 to realize that, I called the front desk to see if I could have an extra 15 minutes to check out. Mac at the desk gave me til 11:30. (No extra hassle or charge.) Here's why I give a 3-star: 1) A used beer bottle had been left behind in between the nightstand and bed by a previous guest and housekeeping had overlooked it. Otherwise, all seemed clean. More important, 2) The exterior looked disheveled, beat-up and unkempt in places. Worst was a side area where guests park: Between the lot and the building is a lawn where some pieces of construction/maintenance trash lay. I couldn't ID what they were, but they looked like remnants of what one might see on a construction site, not things guests had left behind. Also, exterior door glass needed cleaning. Mac seems to be a good guy and the guy in charge overall: When I asked where to find a microwave he immediately came to my room to show me where it was. (It had been shoved way back on a shelf under the TV where I couldn't see it.) Other good things the place has going for it are that it's far enough from the interstate to be quiet, but a quick, easy drive to a good nearby selection of restaurants and shops without being overly congested.
