I have a bucket list of hotels with in a 3 hour drive and this was one of them that I finally made it to. This is a AAA 4 diamond hotel to my surprise and it's around a zoo and museums/attractions so it's worth the drive and let's not forget the world's largest truck stop with antique massive truck museum. The hotel is very classy with an art theme throughout and in every room. The lobby very modern with nice bar that has stone accents and modern furniture with art pieces seamlessly blended in. My room was very nice with stone floors and stone bathroom with a tv in the mirror. The bed was plush and comfortable with no bed bugs. The tv was a Samsung flat screen, usually hotels have off brand TVs . My room had a curio cabinet with a safe, fridge, mirror, closet and all the Coffey/drink stuff. The ice machine room has a pet wash station which was cool. It's located downtown and I was surprised with how many bars, restaurants, coffee shops etc was close by. I really enjoyed my holiday weekend stay and sometimes you just have to treat yourself because time is short.

I stayed here for a week and I have to say this is one of the best Marriott properties I've been to. Not just because I had the penthouse suite but because it's well taken care of and the amenities are on point. We had access to the ambassadors lounge where they have free beer, wine and some spirits. Who doesn't like FREE dranks lol on the other note there was free snacks and fruits and a daily appetizer in that room as well. Parking was across the street and was free and included. The breakfast burrito is delicious and I highly recommend if you decide to eat breakfast there. I highly recommend this property!

Stayed here for a one-nighter recently and all in all it was an enjoyable stay. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the downtown Davenport area. Walkable to several restaurants, bars, breweries, and the glass bridge. Parking is $12/night with in & out access using same room key card. Only downside is it's not covered, so your vehicle will have to endure the elements. Rooms are well done. Clean and no short cuts appeared to be taken for taking an old building to make new. Bath had a nice tub and separate walk in shower. Water pressure could be better. Bidet is a nice to have. Built in tv into the bathroom mirror but we didn't take advantage. Rooms were equipped with blackout blinds, so we slept well. Had a chance to check out the indoor pool and jacuzzi. Being indoor it traps the chlorine smell so you'll be reminded the day after that you did visit the pool. The pool ceiling was probably the only place I could tell they didn't pay attention during renovations as it seems there's several area that have been cut and repatched. Aside from that I think they did a nice job overhauling the building to make for a comfortable hotel experience. Lobby and bar is very welcoming and staff at front desk were very nice. The only thing I can complain about is our main TV didn't have any cable or smart features to be able hook online apps. So bring your own roku, firestick, etc. That's all I got on this one. 'Til next time, cheers!

This is a unique design- and the whimsical art throughout the property is amazing! Each room is unique and well appointed. There is a book in the room talking about the various artists who are local or Midwest based. The rooms are huge- and if you get a room by the elevator- don't stress. I'm a high maintenance traveler who was mildly perturbed by my room location. Not once did I hear people or that annoying ding. There is a noise machine to use at night as a train occasionally comes by. Being from dubuque- we are used to it. Food is phenomenal and reasonable. But the service throughout the hotel is A+! Shout out to Rikki the server and Douglas the chef who helped her run food as we had a party of 12! Rikki was alone at the Sky Bar and he jumped in. The French toast. Forget the calories and carbs.. just eat it. I can't complain about a single thing... and I usually can. My 2 nights here were great. Thank you so much!

This was such an awesome place to stay. The whole vibe is fun. The rooftop bar is stunning. The rooms are so nice and modern. Way to go with the bidet. The gym is big and very modern. Can't wait to stay here again.

The Current Iowa, is part of Marriott's Autograph Collection and is a luxury boutique hotel featuring 78 rooms including 30 suites. The hotel sits on the banks of the Mississippi River and is within walking distances to many shops, restaurants, bars, museums, etc. The art inspired hotel rooms offer travelers functionality and comfort with luxurious bedding, free wifi and hdtv I am always excited to see which animal statue I will have in my room and on this trip I had the boxer. It added to the enjoyment of my stay, since I had a boxer who had passed away in 2016. It's those little touches, that makes the Current Iowa a great hotel choice for business or pleasure. The Current Iowa offers two restaurants on site. UP, which is the Quad Cities first rooftop bar/restaurant and lounge that offers commanding views of the Mississippi. VIVA is their Baja/Mexican restaurant located on the ground floor of the hotel. I visited both restaurants during my stay and would highly recommend both restaurants.

This place is wonderful. The rooms are spacious, immaculate, beautifully decorated and have large bathrooms. Large showers and bidets. Artwork is everywhere including original artwork in the rooms. Free valet parking in their secured lot. Jazmyn checked me in and was a complete delight. I think this will be our new spot in Davenport!!!

Lighting is great, room temperature controls work quickly, and you can't hear anything in the hallway (but if you have a bunch of 2-to 6-year-olds in the room above you, you'll know). Wireless internet connectivity is very quick for being free, so no need to pay for an upgrade. I went for a morning walk around the property before dawn (staying on sidewalks) and everything was safe (mostly well lit). The gym is large, equipment new and clean, towels are provided, and water dispenser works. No one was using the pool but it's there! Finally, I ordered food from the Bistro restaurant in the lobby. It's usually a bad choice, but not here. They put a lot of effort into the drinks AND food. I got the espresso martini (doesn't need the simple syrup, IMHO) and it was the best I've had in a while (people keep adding weird things to these drinks elsewhere or it ends up being coffee milk-- iykyk). The Turkey Avocado BLT (sans bacon for me) and side arugula salad (fresh baby arugula, cucumbers and tomatoes!!) was large and a great value for 12.50. They don't joke about the Texas toast and they aren't skimping with the avocado. The salad was large enough that I got it "to go" and made it my lunch the next day. The grilled chicken sandwich was also delicious and had fresh ingredients. Honestly, I don't have criticism to provide. Best business trip hotel I've stayed in while traveling in the Midwest.

We selected the Best Western Plus Steeplegate Inn in Davenport after a thorough search for hotels with three stars or above and the best rates. This hotel stood out for its competitive rates and quality. Despite ongoing renovations, the hotel offered excellent value for money, with rates significantly lower than other comparable hotels. While I have given the Best Western Plus Steeplegate Inn a five-star rating, it's important to note that this is not a reflection of it being a five-star hotel. I would categorize it as a three-star hotel, but I am giving it a five-star review based on our positive experience. Despite some areas that could be improved, our overall satisfaction was high, considering the room cost us only $263 for a three-night stay, which was an excellent value for the amenities and service provided. Here are some of the favorable aspects that contributed to our five-star rating. Our room had a King-sized bed that was not just comfortable but also came with tons of pillows for a restful sleep. We had a microwave and a mini-fridge with a tiny freezer for our convenience and a super comfortable stuffed leather chair with an oversized rolling ottoman for relaxation. The mini-Keurig/coffee station was a nice touch, and the vast and lovely body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion dispensers in the shower added to the comfort. The sizeable, beautiful corner closet, thick walls, and a nice desk with handy plugs were all well-thought-out amenities. The hotel lobby was clean like our room was, and certainly impressive looking, with an ATM, mini-store to purchase any needed necessities such as charging cords, a full-sized coffee station with disposable cups, and plenty of lush oversized furniture. They had a nice full fitness room with weights, treadmills, exercise bikes, and more, which we appreciated but didn't get to use during our trip. There was also a fully enclosed courtyard in the middle of the hotel, which was quite lovely. The indoor atrium was enormous, with extremely high ceilings and superb acoustics. The swimming pool, which was gated with a cute little white picket fence with a latching gate, was small and kidney-shaped, with a range of 3 ft to 5 ft deep water, which was comfortably warm. There was a jacuzzi, but unfortunately, it was boarded over during our visit and unusable. There was also a minimal gaming area with several arcade games. A highlight of this hotel is the absolutely fabulous bar which is attached to it called 1 Hundred West that has live music, fantastic food, occasional live music, and out-of-this-world drinks (I mean, really, the drinks were high class. The hotel may have been about a three-star hotel, but 1 Hundred West is a five-star bar). The best part was the bartenders, including Matt, who has a great sense of humor and lovely mannerisms and makes a mean Manhatten, and Anthony, who was an absolute delight to speak to and a pleasure to be around. Anthony is truly dedicated to his craft as a bartender and is a very kind-hearted gentleman who knocked our socks off when he made our drinks (be sure to try his grasshopper!). The bar is a great place to visit whether or not you drink, and it is immaculately clean and has a modern, sleek look. We had an absolute delight at the bar and can't recommend it highly enough if you're in the Q.C. area. The person who checked us into the hotel was charming and attentive. We never used room service, but it was available, as were wake-up calls, free Wi-Fi, hardwired internet, and complimentary amenities available by request at the front desk, such as toothbrushes, shaving cream, razors, sewing kits, combs, and other essentials. The hotel also boasts a coin laundry on the bottom floor, but we did not visit that during our trip. There were, however, a few minor downsides to the hotel. Although they were in the middle of renovation and had that posted, there were some parts, such as ceiling panels in the hallways, that fell through and needed to be repaired, which detracted from the overall pleasantness of our stay. There was a shower but no tub, and the lip of the shower at the bottom was only about an inch tall, so no matter how hard you tried to be careful, water splashed out all over the bathroom floor, so improvements could be made there. Also, I noticed there were no safety handles in or around the shower or bathroom, and as I have severe back issues, I nearly slipped several times, so if I had any feedback for the rooms, it would be those in the bathroom. Other than those issues, our room was very nice, extremely roomy, and came with many amenities and lovely decorations. It had a very classic and clean, open feel. We believe that addressing these issues could further enhance the guest experience.
