If you want an experience and you aren't afraid of heights, this is a great opportunity for you! It's a bit pricey though how often do you get an eagle eye view of the city for a short period of time in a unique way. Make sure you go to the bathroom, if you need to go, before you check in at the city climb desk. Sign waivers. Lock your items in a lock bag which the employees will return to you at the end. Highly recommend you not to carry any big items since it's a small bag. Note: you won't be able to carry your phone or camera while on the climb. Any loose items must be removed including earrings and jewelry. Get into a jumpsuit which will be provided, your height will be measured when your check in, before you go up for your climb. You ride the elevator to 101 Floor. The employees put a helmet, straps, and carabiner clips to make sure you don't fall down. Don't touch the railing since you could hurt yourself. The employee will give you instructions so pay attention. You are checked 2-3x to make sure everything is properly clipped in place to trolley and safety cables by different employees to make sure everything is secured. It's a group of 5-7 people. Next you go through the exterior storm door, climb 32 steps then go straight up 161 steps to the ledge. When ready, the employee will walk you through what to do. Everyone in the group will lean backwards first and when ready you lean forward. We only got pictures and video of the leaning backwards, no leaning forward. I was thrilled for the opportunity so I didn't mind not having the photo of leaning forward. Afterwards, we went back down another staircase and back into an open area to remove the jumpsuit and retrieve our items in the locked bag (double check the bag to make sure you didn't leave anything behind). City Climb NYC this past July was absolutely epic! Over 1200 feet in the air, hanging off the side of a skyscraper, the adrenaline rush was unreal. Our guide was hilarious and did an amazing job making each of us feel safe and comfortable, which made the whole experience even more fun. The energy was nonstop, the laughs were real, and the views are just WOW!! Seeing New York City from that height was an unforgettable way to capture the skyline. Oh my God ..! We finally did it. Last month was my son's birthday & I was trying to surprise him with this experience. But the weather was not letting us, had to change our tickets 3 times. But finally Sun came out & we were able to do it . By the time we went up Sun was setting & can't express what I felt looking at the view from all the way up to 106 th floor! Now let's talk about where is this city climb is, it's inside Edge. Located on 100th floor. Btw if you climbing you get to visit the Edge for free. Yes, you guys heard me right, for free. Altho the ticket is pretty expensive but it's a once in a lifetime experience & you also don't have to pay for Edge. What a deal ... I know it looks scary & you guys probably thinking no freaking way but trust me that's what I thought! But the rush & excitement is addictive! Thinking of doing it again lol..! And how can't I love that view, breathtaking! Please do look at the weather before you purchase the tickets. You can also change them if the weather gets bad, I mean it's New York City..! They also have annual pass , if you really wanna take advantage that's your way to go. Every season you can try to go up & climb; I am getting excited all over again lol! My son was in shock & he did lean forward & backwards! I did also but I couldn't let go off my hands tho, next time definitely! One of the scary thing was by the time we got up it got dark & we felt more scared! But it was so worth it, next time gonna try the day time climb. Will update later if I get to climb again . If you visiting New York City & want to try something totally shocking then City climb is the best ! This experience was all the positive and exciting verbs you can think of! Every person who intersected with us was very friendly, personable, helpful, and encouraging! Yes, I know it looks intimidating but you will feel so liberated when you come down...buy the tickets! You can purchase tickets online or in person, take the elevator to the edge, lockers available to store personal belongings, suit up, multiple multiple multiple safety checks (appreciate that), and then you head up the side of the building! The leaders showed us how to set up for the different moves and take all the pictures/video. Things to consider: -Wear sneakers...you will want the grip -Don't workout legs the day before or day of...100+ stairs to walk up to get to the top (I learned this lesson) -Dress for the weather...it was cold and we all had either long sleeved shirts or hoodies on -Breathalyzer and weight are checked before suiting up -No personal items allowed...no watches, all jewelry (even earrings, rings, Apple Watch, etc) have to be taken off -There is a suit that will fit, don't worry You will not regret doing this! read more

City Climb at Hudson Yards is the epitome of unique experience as you get to scale the side of a skyscraper and lean out over the edge of the building. And while that is crazy enough as it is, a ticket for City Climb also comes with a video of your experience. However, this is the only downside of City Climb as they partner with a company called Magic Memories for the video that only gives you 90 seconds of the footage from your 20 minute climb and without any audio. Leaving the souvenirs out of the equation though, make sure to take in everything you can from this awesome time living out your Tom Cruise dreams. I would totally go back to do this again.
