They have upper body, lower body, full body and beginner classes. I ended up taking 10 classes total within my 2-week trial and loved every class I took. All the trainers are very positive, high energy and knowledgeable about different techniques. I felt and saw my body get stronger and leaner in such a short amount of time. I am definitely considering getting a monthly membership and have already recommended this studio to several of my friends.

Owners Eric and Melissa are grade A people; They care about your well being and they have created a supportive and positive culture, you feel it from the second you walk in the door. More importantly, you know every time you go, that by at the end of your 1 hour workout, you got a damn good workout in (you are normally sweating and breathing pretty heavy = great results). Classes move fast with high reps that really make you feel the burn, targeting all major muscle groups in the upper body, lower body, glutes, and core. One thing I really like about Physique 57 is that the instructors do a good job of integrating rhythm/musicality into the exercises and maintaining an upbeat atmosphere throughout class. They're also great about providing individual attention and correcting form when necessary. In terms of the studio, I've visited all 3 studios in SoHo, UES, and NoMad. The NoMad location, which just opened a few months ago, is extremely new and by far the most gorgeous and spacious of the three!

I wanted to update this since we are now about a year since fitness studios reopened…read more COVID policies have been relaxed since our city/state have been relaxing guidelines based on positivity rates and vaccination. I think they've been doing well with this and continuing to clean between classes. Masks no longer required in class. They've recently had a lot of new "deals" which is nice for regulars like myself. I really miss the annual unlimited, because I am paying so much more lately to take fewer classes. Thankfully, they're doing a summer three month unlimited -- I hope they continue something beyond that. More recently, I've been interacting with Brigid, their customer experience manager. I can really tell a difference in the quality of customer service since she's come on board -- she is very responsive and so pleasant, and she is extremely client oriented. For example, they transitioned from one fitness app to another to book classes, and it's been a problematic transition in so many ways. Not only did Brigid fix the issues, she also gave me some extra classes for the trouble. I finally feel valued for being a loyal client (there was a point in time when I wasn't feeling such a way). When there were some further issues, I reached out to her and she's been working through all of those issues with me. Can't say enough positive things about her. My only reason for dropping a star is that showers are still not back. I understood this immediately post pandemic (and they had to consolidate four studios' worth of belongings into one), but it's really difficult to schedule your day and get around the city without a shower option. I understand that times are tough, but class prices are higher than before, yet we also lack the amenities that we had before (showers, towels). Showers seem to be back at most other fitness studios. If the showers came back, I would definitely be more encouraged to take additional classes. The scheduling game is more of a challenge with this.

There are locker rooms and showers on site. The front desk offers mats, mat towels, face towels, shower towels, and after class chilled lavender towels that are passed around the room. I really love the variety of classes here, including a sculpt class I took, HIIT with weights (like this but less yoga and more cardio bursts), the classic ID, and more. I wish they had more variety in class lengths as sometimes I'm really just feeling a 45 minute, but nonetheless this has become one of my go-to studios in Manhattan. The instructors are really cool here as well!

The studio is on the 3rd floor and has two fitness rooms and locker rooms by gender. Only downside, there are two showers, so there was a wait after class for the shower. I say this more as a heads up than a deterrent. The studio has an intro special going on right now - two weeks of unlimited classes for $95 (mats and towels included) or one intro class for $20. Try it out!

I had done one class years ago, but for all intents and purposes this was my first one. Shoutout to the instructor Amina Summers, walking the beginners clearly through everything before class, she made it so easy to be a first timer here. Y'all ladies are NOT playing in here goddamn, what a fantastic workout. If I had the money to do this 5 times a week and go on a couple runs here and there, it would be OVER for y'all. By the end of class, I was amidst the ambiance engulfed by dimmed blue lighting, Amina screaming into her little Britney Spears mic "WHO DO YOU WANT TO BE? DON'T GIVE UP ON YOURSELF!" while doing deep lunges on the reformer on completely wobbly legs. Jello legs. I look over and all these girls are just repping them out completely unphased. I just had to tip my cap, I got beat. I was WHOOPED after this class. I was being a little dramatic just now, Amina was the perfect level of trying to motivate people without doing the most. I hate when workout class instructors do the MOST. I try to immerse myself in the culture of wherever I am, so you know I had to take a mirror selfie of me flexed up on the reformer after class.
