Sooo upset with this place, leaving to see a new dermo. I have been a patient for years, and have been struggling with my acne a lot recently. I made an appointment for help, (which mind you takes forever to get into in Cincinnati) and they turned me away because my insurance got renewed a week ago and a copy hasn't come in the mail yet. I provided the new numbers/information digital bu they still refused me after driving all the way out here simply needing serious help with my skin. I understand doctors need to see proof of insurance, but she didn't at the very least even have the professionalism or decency to come out and speak to me about it, rather had the front desk shun me even though I was visibly tearful and stressed since I spent the time driving all the way out looking forward with getting help with my acne. I have been seeing Dr Long for many many years. I've liked her for both medical and cosmetic needs. However, recent visits have been awful and it's to the point where I need to find a new practice. She has an aggressive nurse who has been incredibly rude and has an arbitrary policy for late arrivals - I can't tell if it's 5 minutes or 10, but I've been in both scenarios and there is no grace period in her mind for a downtown office. It's so aggressive, I won't be back. It'll ruin your day. read more

When I moved to this area I asked around for personal referrals to a dermatologist. After a few calls, I discovered that the area has (or did have) a shortage of dermatology specialists and the wait for an appointment could be very lengthy. I made an appointment with this center, which had about a six week wait. On the day of my appointment, I arrived early and was taken back to the exam room promptly. After my previous dermatologist retired I found Dr. Lana Long. I've been very impressed and happy with both Doctor Long and her staff. The location is in downtown Cincinnati (in a beautiful art deco building btw) and very convenient to anyone located near the city. Parking is never a problem though you do have to pay. However, having several places nearby to have breakfast or lunch after you appointment makes up for that! Dr. Long is professional, her staff is courteous and as stated in other reviews appointments are always prompt and Dr. Long is attentive and helpful and always willing to discuss in detail any issues you have. read more

I had the almost exact same experience as Marie S. wrote on here back in 2016, which appears to be hidden on this page. Like Marie wrote, I showed up to my appointment only to find out that Dr. Long was out of the country for some sort of "training", which now that I am reading Marie's review was most likely a vacation as well. The appointment was canceled and yet no one had attempted to contact me. I asked why I was not contacted and the woman at the staff who has been incredibly rude the entire time I have been coming here told me they tried to call me and couldn't reach me. Come to find out that the number they were trying to call was my old phone number. I told them I had a new phone number for over a year now and was told it was my responsibility to give them my updated information. I kindly disagreed and explained that since I had not been seen in over a year my phone number changed and no one asked me to update paperwork, like most healthcare providers do when you haven't seen them for a while. This is their responsibility, not mine. It had been over a year since my last appointment and they did not have my updated phone number. I asked if I could see the paperwork they had on my file and saw that my email address was listed on the paperwork. They didn't even attempt to email me and let me know the appointment was canceled. Needless to say I was very upset as I had rushed to get to this appointment on time, parked in the garage, etc. I had been waiting to see Dr. Long for over a month and then come to find out she canceled my appointment. Begrudgingly, this woman told me she would talk to Dr. Long about it and rescheduled my appointment. I told myself I would forget about this experience and decided to give it another try as I really didn't want to look for a new Dermatologist. The second appointment went much smoother and I received the treatment from Dr. Long and was pleased. I know Dr. Long is a quality Dermatologist, but it is unfortunate that her staff is giving her such a bad reputation. Today, I went for my third round treatment that I had been waiting for and I was excited to see before and after photos and see the results of the BIG investment I was making to clean up the acne scaring on my face. My appointment was at 8:00 AM and I was fighting morning traffic so I called to let the front desk know I was running about 5-10 min behind. I was told in a rude manner that if I was not there within 10 min I would need to re-schedule. I kindly asked why the policy changed as I thought the window of time was 15 min. I got to the parking garage and ran as fast I could to my appointment and called the front desk to let them know that I was coming. The lady at the front desk was again rude to me. I got to the front desk and signed in, I was brought back to the room and the nurse was working with me to start the service. Then, Dr. Long comes in and tells me that her staff told her I was rude to her and that she wouldn't see me! The entire experience was ridiculous from beginning to end. I knew in my gut that I didn't have a good feeling about her staff and even Dr. Long her as a person. I do not think the staff is personable or genuine. My spidey sense went off from Day 1 and I should've listened to it. I will NEVER return to this office again. I wish to be treated with respect and to receive some flexibility when I am spending HUNDREDS of dollars at your office. It is a shame the way I was treated today. You might receive quality treatment, but you will sacrifice extremely poor customer service along the way. read more

It is a pleasure to come to Dr. Long's office. She attends to all concerns, takes the time to listen and gives solid advice. I had a number of issues during my recent visit and they took care of me from the time I made the appointment. This not new, I have been a patient here over the years and Dr. Long's practice is characterized by a professional team. Dr. Long, Cindy, and the rest of her amazing team have consistently provided top notch and effective care for my chronic sever psoriasis. Dr. Long is very patient and educated on the latest research and innovations in the psoriasis and dermatology fields. Each visit is something to look forward to: an amazingly beautiful office space, friendly staff, quick and efficient visits, flexibility with scheduling, and if you every have questions she gives you a call back ASAP. I made an appointment with Dr. Long at the beginning of June, she has a wonderful staff, all very helpful and friendly. Dr. Long is thorough and efficient. My appointment was at 9:30, she did the consultation, removed suspicious tissue samples and had me out the door in less than 30 minutes! The sample tissue was removed from my face so I was a bit worried about scarring. She did a wonderful job and I am very happy. Highly recommend, she's the best dermatologist that I've ever been to. read more

City Dermatology & Laser is the only Dermatologist that I have ever been to, so I can't really compare them to past experiences. I can say that I have been really pleased with the service that I have received. I have been seeing Dr. Long for almost 3 years now (skin checks for moles). My appointments are always on time, and Dr. Long is very knowledgeable. She removed a mole for me a few weeks ago, and she made is such a non-event (I was not sure of what to expect!). I have recommended City Dermatology in the past, and I will continue to do so. read more

It is such a shame that good doctors don't hire better office staff and manage their schedules better. Dr. Long's staff is consistently rude, especially when they call me to cancel my upcoming appointment on short notice because Dr. Long is going on vacation (this has happened twice; I've never had this experience with another doctor). After my most recent annual appointment was cancelled by her office, I was kept waiting for over an over in the lobby on the rescheduled date. The staff gave no updates and made no apologies, and I left after 65 minutes. The worst part is, I probably did them a big favor by helping them get back on schedule! The convenience of this office's downtown location is outweighed by consistently poor scheduling practices. read more
