We ran into a problem with our Winnebago motorhome in the Ochoco National Forest; the engine…read morewouldn't start. Wyatt, from BLUE COLLAR AUTO & FAB in Prineville, was friendly and helpful right from the start, assisting us over the phone in finding a towing service. He also agreed to repair our motorhome immediately. Other repair shops in Prineville wouldn't touch this type of vehicle and turned us away. Wyatt carried out the repair to our complete satisfaction. He discovered that not only was the ignition switch faulty, but a ground wire connected to a defective relay had also been severed. He professionally replaced all the necessary parts. A few days later, our motorhome broke down again. This time, the cause was completely different: the fuel pump inside the gas tank had failed. We had ourselves towed once more--naturally to BLUE COLLAR AUTO & FAB, as we knew we could count on their expertise. Working with his brother Dusty, Wyatt partially drained the fuel tank, lowered it using jacks, and replaced the faulty fuel pump with a new one--an authentic Winnebago part, no less. They did all of this outdoors in 95°F heat. We highly recommend BLUE COLLAR AUTO & FAB; they are the best mechanics we have ever encountered. After all, we have been traveling in various motorhomes across Europe, North America, South America, and Australia since 1984 and have dealt with many mechanics along the way. They repaired the truck and our extended warranty covered all but $100 ( the deductible). In March 2023 we arrived in Yuma, Arizona with the same front main seal leak. We took our truck into a local certified shop to have it repaired and advised them of the previous repair, providing them with the original repair order, Which states Bear Automotive has a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee and a three year parts and labor warranty. WELL NOT SO FAST, seems like Bear Automotive uses a nationwide parts companies warranty program. Bear Automotive does not/ will not pay to repair a problem, but wants the local shop to deal with the national parts companies insurance. The shop in Yuma, Arizona, they are a quality shop, will do the repair and make it right with us, however, Bear Automotive refuses to pay for repairs that they originally did and finds no problem with leaving the Yuma, Arizona shop or us hanging with the bill. What a truly terrible way to treat a customer. A "high quality shop" would have called the local shop, had them do the repair, provided a credit card, paid for the repair and then settled up with the insurance company. Sorry, but would not recommend anyone use this business.
