My 90 year old mother's vehicle lost it's alternator and this was the closest auto repair shop. They confirmed it was the alternator and quoted us approximately $400 for the repair. Mom asked them to look at the e-brake that gets stuck too. Next day she gets a call quoting over $1,100 for repairs because the starter was bad too. Plus an additional unknown amount to fix the E-brake. It made no sense that the starter was mysteriously bad too. So we paid them $84 for the inspection and towed it home. I usually do our auto repair and I'm not dumb about vehicles. I installed a new alternator, charged the battery (which they claimed was charged but was only at 9 volts) went to hit the starter and nothing happened. Took me less than 5 minutes to discover the clutch pedal safety switch was partially unplugged. Another mystery how it randomly became unplugged less than 24 hours after the alternator went bad. I plugged it back in and now the vehicle is starting and driving just fine. My thoughts are they either are inept, knocked the safety switch plug out of place while inspecting the e-brake pedal and couldn't figure it out. Or, they saw my 90 year old mother as an easy mark for additional unnecessary repairs to line their pockets with. read more

Good price, had oil, trans and diffs fluid changed for less than $350. That service was supposed to take 4-6 hours, took 7.5 hours. 6 hours in and it hadn't even been on a lift. Get what you pay for I guess. read more

I do not recommend Redmond Auto Tire Pros for a number of reasons. I had initially given them 5 stars on snow tire purchase and alignment ($715) but after a handful of interactions I must change my review. The initial 5 stars was based on them being quicker than Schwabs and good customer service and unfortunately my experience since has been anything but that. I mistakenly took 1 good experience and turned it into 2 months of headache. January 3rd I went in hoping for them to fix an oil leak in my 97 Honda, despite everyone saying old cars leak just leave it. I trusted this shop unfortunately so when they insisted I replace a functioning oil pressure sensor I shelled out another $200 for the sake of a small leak. After the repair I came back immediately with a NEW strong shudder and the tech seemed to not know how to even drive my car. He was confused about it having d4, d3,d2,d1and asked about it being manual vs. Automatic. What??? Later that day I came back a second time to say I now had a oil pressure light blinking, which was not there prior to paying $200 for a part I really didn't need. It's obviously the part so why ask my to wait for another day when their diagnostic tech is there? They initially said they could replace the blinker and marker lights I needed but what I ended up with was 2 newly replaced headlights full of mud because the tech left them open to the elements after I declined fixing the connectors. He had already broke my new marker light and although I initially wrote it off as "cheap amazon" and graciously accepted the free replacement I now believe them to be lazy and incompetent. They left my fender wells off and lost them! How am I supposed to know to check that or the marker ligh housing? I waited until February 19 to have only the housing poorly replaced after a conversation about waiting ANOTHER month for those parts to come in. No thanks. My old shop in Madras could source and replace part same day...every time. There is no realistic reason I'm in a constant cycle of come back in 1 week, 1 month, Friday, Monday etc. In Redmond. In addition to this headache and poor workmanship I now also believe they only have good customer service when it's convenient. Because they Routinely respond to Google reviews to combat low stars and the customer can't respond to a response, I encourage anyone reading this to take it at face value and go somewhere else. I've been here more times than I can count and dropped $1000 on a shop I do not feel valued at. read more

It was time to change where we swap tires for our family vehicles. These guys were super responsive and friendly over the phone, moved some things around for my urgent needs, swapped my tires, threw in new valve stems, found some worn out bolts during the alignment, spent the extra time on the control arm bushings to make sure everything was safe, and even gave me a loaner car to run my errands while my Subaru was being serviced. The brakes on our Corolla were failing badly. We were visiting Redmond from Spokane, WA. I found these guys on Yelp and called them near the close of day and told them of our urgent need for brake repair. They were, of course, booked for the next few days; however, they said to drop it off the next morning and leave it - and it would be fixed that day. I received a call the next mid afternoon that the car was all ready (badly leaking calipers were replaced). The repair cost was very reasonable according to estimates I had researched on Google. My 2007 Subaru Impreza visited this facility July of 2023 for an oil change. During the oil change the technician made a mistake and left the drain plug loose and caused the motor to lock up. At the time the shop did a band aide repair and installed some new internal components to attempt to repair the issue. Since then the vehicle has only gone about 3,000 miles and got an oil change halfway through that time to try to get the new internals off to a nice long, well maintained life. Now, with only 3,000 miles since this shop destroyed the engine the first time, its destroyed again. I called and spoke to Trent the owner who was calm and polite in a tough situation that often leaves folks pretty heated so I appreciate that. Unfortunately thats where the positives end. He refused to step up and participate at all. I am a certified mechanic with Ford and BMW most recently so I know how to maintain a car, and I even offered Trent to meet me half way on the part and I will install it myself to lower the impact this has to his bottom line and get us both past this without any other BS, but even with that generosity and me being willing to take a hit of my time and money he still refused. 3000 miles after they were in the engine and its destroyed already, and Trent wants to leave it in my lap. There are a lot of other shops in the area and I would encourage folks to choose one of them that may operate with a bit more integrity. read more

I drove from Bend and went in for an alignment on my Jeep Wrangler (which only needs the front aligned and is one of the easiest vehicles to align). When I came back to pick it up, Amber informed me that my power steering box needed to be replaced ASAP because of a leak. I did just that: paid full price, and replaced my power steering box. I called this morning and Amber laughed as she told me that I need to have an alignment after having the power steering box replaced. I asked why they did the alignment, knowing the psb needed to be replaced, and knowing I would come back within weeks needing a new alignment. Her response was I need a full alignment at full cost. Why didn't you call me the moment you saw the leak, before proceeding? THEY ARE OUT TO SCAM YOU INTO COMING BACK AT FULL PRICE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE USE THIS SHOP OR TRUST THEM. read more

I discovered RAS several years ago and have been using them ever since for all my automotive needs. This is a shop that understands customer service and does high-quality work at a fair cost. I drive an old Subaru. They do a great job of keeping me on the road safe and feeling that I have a reliable car. And these people are completely honest... I have had other shops recommend brake-jobs and other work that is premature or not needed. RAS checks my brakes routinely and keeps me posted on the millimeter levels of wear and the condition of all other safety critical parts. They have earned my business every time I go in. I took my 2008 Acura RDX in because the AC wasn't working and air would only come out at the bottom. Long story short, when I picked my car up no air would come out at all. Redmond Auto broke something while diagnosing my AC and now my Acura doesn't have any climate control at all. I talked to the manager to try and come to a compromise, but he wouldn't budge. In my opinion, your car should be in the same or better shape when you pick it up from the shop. I do not recommend Redmond Auto. There are lots of other service shops, take your car somewhere else! read more

I had the bad luck of having my Subaru Forester break down while motoring up hwy 97 from CA to WA. I had the good fortune of having it happen about a mile from Redmond Auto Service. When the tow truck driver picked me up, I asked him about taking it back 15 miles to Bend Subaru. He said "only if you want the repairs to take twice as long and cost about twice as much as at Redmond Auto Service. These guys are the best around". With a bit of anxiety, I had him take it to Redmond Auto Svc. They quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem (a frozen timing belt pulley, which had the same effect as a broken timing belt), at a reasonable cost. They also repaired several other incidental things and charged only for the parts. Very pleasant and informative throughout the whole process. Makes me wish I lived closer to Redmond, so I could use them as my service center all the time. Thanks so much guys! read more

This is a very unique facility. They always go above and beyond. As a senior woman I have been told by the owner that it is their responsibility to keep my car in tip top shape for my safety. I had occasion to talk with a mechanic there and he shared with me the level of teamwork amongst all and the level of awareness 'demanded' for the best servicing ever. There is always a total inspection of the vehicle so that nothing is left to chance. I never worry about my car anymore. We were vacationing in Redmond the first of October, 2014, and developed a leak. We could see where it was coming from but didn't have the tools or knowledge how to get to it. Called Redmond Auto Service (541-548-2696) and he was able to move some things around and got us in the next morning. He told me how much he thought it was going to be and when I picked up the car later that morning it was $10 less. He installed a new hose, checked the fluid level and found no more leaks. We drove home that weekend and now 2 weeks later everything is still good. I would definitely go back. And I don't drive a Subaru, I drive a Nissan Xterra. read more

We came to Redmond from out of state to spend a week over the Christmas holiday. Our van barely made it to town. It is never fun trying to find a good mechanic when you are a visitor to an area and don't know anyone to give a recommendation. The first place I called was full for a week, but the owner recommended Redmond Auto Service. He said he would trust them with his car. I called Redmond Auto Service and they were able to schedule an appointment for the next day. They offered us a loaner car so we didn't have to spend the day in their waiting room. By the end of the day they had identified and fixed 2 problems that needed fixing and did not pressure us to fix other problems that could wait (the van has over 315,000 miles so there are numerous little things that could be fixed). We drove home and the van sounded good. On the trip to Redmond, we got 17 mpg and after their work, we got 22 mpg on the way home, which is its normal fuel economy. We were very pleased with the work they did, with their friendliness, customer service and professionalism, and being able to fix it so quickly. If we moved to Redmond, they would be our regular repair shop. read more
