We wanted a new couch and since we did not have a lot of furniture stores around us, we came here. I pass this on the highway when I am in the area so I knew it existed. My family has purchased from City Furniture in the past so we knew it would be a good stop. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by a very pleasant sales associate, I cannot remember her name but she was so lovely and spent so much time with us. We first noticed there was a mini bar area which sold wine and snacks including pizza and they also had free cookies. We definitely hit that up on the way out. I didn't realize that you could walk around with wine but we saw others doing it and I think we missed out. I would have definitely done that! We told our wonderful sales associate that we wanted a couch, we let her know what we kind of wanted and she took us around and showed us many different options. She was extremely knowledgeable, answered all our questions, showed us about 15 different options and also let us know we could customize pieces, different than what the store was showing on display. There options are so large, you could get lost in here. it's not really laid out in sections, but more of room displays. However, everything is for sale and each display gives you lots of options. Luckily, we found something we really liked and was very comfortable. The check out process was super easy. My family and my husband and I sat on the couch (the display that we were purchasing) and our sales associate was able to check us out right there. We didn't have to go to a register. This was more personalized and intimate. I loved this. We also added the extended warranty which covered dirt, anything broken or tears. I spent $15k at this store, one of the items was an adjustable head platform bed that came "free" with the queen mattress, after sleeping on it the first few nights, it made this loud popping noise every time entering and exiting the bed, cust care was involved, and several interactions later, I ended up with a box springs and no compensation. It's a very LONG story but basically, I wanted to let you know to get EVERY INTERACTION in writing because if it's not written on their end, it doesnt exist. I have shopped here several times for bedroom, living room, family room, and miscellaneous pieces of furniture. This time I've seen the market for a recliner. I was graded when I entered, and the gentleman proceeded to show me the recliners that were available. I chose a blue one, a small one and electric recliner, which was suitable for me at the moment. It was delivered within a couple of days and I love it. It is everything I expected and was purchased at a reasonable price. Spent over 4k on a sectional and paid for the stain protection and for the extra warranty. When a main structural part broke on the sectional and the repair man came out to fix it he took one picture and said it was denied due to the fact it was a bit dirty and they said it was excessive use. This was less than a year old. It's light grey fabric and shows any little spot. They are scam artists with deceptive practices and now I am stuck with a 4k+ sectional that is broke. read more

The sales associate was excellent and answered all of my questions, but everything after the sale has been a nightmare. Delivery was five hours late, and when I eventually needed warranty service, the process was incredibly frustrating. Parts took over a month to arrive, and scheduling a repair was another long wait. The technician failed to show up three times and when he finally showed up on the fourth try, he damaged my furniture. When I contacted customer care about the damage, they told me my only option was to keep using the same technician. I've missed multiple days of work for appointments they didn't honor and I'm left with damaged furniture and a warranty that feels meaningless. We bought a sectional a little bit over 1 month ago and it's already sinking. They sent a " professional " to help us and she said that furniture are not made to last. Keep in mind we bought it less than 2 months ago. We also bought the warranty that at the time all was said the warrior would cover everything. But there's ALWAY THE FINE PRINT. UPDATE TO THIS NIGHTMARE! Monday they called and ASSURED me they would have someone contact me. Steve from their social media response said he was contacting the head of the home damage department. When I expressed my lack of confidence in empty promises, he said they would follow up every 2 days and prove to me with their response times and follow ups that they truly care. Did any of that happen? Did anyone reach out? BIG NOPE! At this point, I'm not sure if I need to contact an attorney and sue for damages plus lawyers fees because their lack of customer care should not mean I have to continue living in a hazardous situation. read more

I would give this company ZERO stars if I could.... I've never reviewed a furniture company in my life, but there's a first for everything- my experience was too terrible not to share. Purchased a Gemma Navy Velvet sofa (3 pieces) in the beginning of January. Looks great in the showroom, like everything does. It was truly an aesthetically pleasing sofa and very comfy, and we were excited to have finally found something for our living room after many weeks of furniture shopping. The couch was delivered on 1/17/25 and my husband and I unpacked and assembled it. There were multiple striations on the fabric, some pieces looked darker than others, causing it to look like it was already stained. They had the fabric technician come out a couple weeks later to attempt to resolve it- he couldn't. Agreed to replace the couch. When the replacement came, they offered to "upgrade" the delivery to "premium delivery ." (My ordeal with In Home Damages described below). The replacement couch was even worse than the first! The pieces were badly misaligned, there was a huge gap between the middle piece, even though it was clipped together as intended, and the armrest on the right side was creaky and the wood sounded broken on the inside. Frustrated at this point to say the least. We agreed to have the sofa replaced (they offered us a discount of a couple hundred dollars to keep it as is, after we paid $2700 with taxes and warranty purchase). Get ready for this...the replacement they sent was the EXACT SAME sofa we had originally sent back. It came wrapped in plastic, instead of in the box. When I asked the delivery driver why, he stated it was because they "carefully inspect it for quality." The markings and striations were in the exact same spots! Also, I had placed felt pads on the legs of our original couch- when I looked under the legs, I could see how they took the felt pads off and scraped the sticky adhesive off. Wait it gets worse- the right chaise piece which was supposed to extend didn't even work anymore. Infuriated at this point, I had to spend several hours on the phone with Customer Care. We even went back to the Ocoee location and notified the store management of the entire ordeal. They tried to help, but it was lackluster at the least- we decided to get our money refunded. There are major quality standards that are lacking with this particular couch. Service recovery is nonexistent at City Furniture. The terrible Yelp reviews are true, trust me. Take your hard earned money elsewhere!! My In Home Damages Ordeal: Upon receiving the first replacement, we had 2 delivery drivers. City upgraded us to what they call premium delivery. My review is already lengthy, so I'll summarize this best I can- They scratched the paint on my front door frame because they were shimmying the furniture out and I told them the 2 larger pieces had to be taken through the back. They dragged the furniture on the tile, thus scratching it in multiple places. And one of them pushed the sliding glass screen door completely off track. I will say, he helped me put it back on though. I took pictures (date and time stamped) of the tile and door frame and shortly filed an in home damages claim after they left. I was not able to catch all of this while they were still there. Pictures were sent to marlainv@city-furniture.com on 2/4/25. Multiple attempts to reach them since then, even the management at Ocoee store sent emails to no avail. Today, 3/7/25, is the first time a supervisor named Jennifer called me back from the In Home Damages team. She told me that since I did not have actual footage of these incidents taking place, that there's basically nothing they can do. So me, as the customer, with justified claim and proof, means nothing because the delivery drivers lied to cover their a**. Mind you, pictures with time and date stamps were sent that SAME day. She explained that the day it happened, they called the drivers back and they denied any claims of what had happened. Goes to show the untrustworthy people they employ. When this happened, the delivery drivers said they needed to come back that day to get pictures to cover their end. Sure thing. Approximately 4-5 hours later, they came back. When asked nicely to please remove their shoes before coming in (you're not delivering furniture at this point) they looked at each other weirdly. Then the hispanic delivery guy (did not get his name) looked at me and said "F**k it, I'll take my shoes off." Absolutely unbelievable. The other delivery driver did not use any profanity. Safe to say, I will NEVER be a customer with this company anymore. Hopefully this review saves some other people out there! We are now happily awaiting our new sectional from American Signature. The difference in customer service was night and day. If you read all the way through this review, save yourself from City Furniture. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The leather sofa that I purchased was far too large and it was made to be against a wall because each piece (6) has flaps along the bottom so the recliners can move. They keep flopping open and look sloppy and unkept, requiring me to re-attach them every time a recliner is operated. The way it sits in my room is you see the entire back of the gigantic sectional, which shows the poorly designed flaps. I did measure but I did not consider the height of the back rests. The furniture makes my room look like a walled off fortress. During delivery day (premium delivery) last Tuesday they came across the lawn instead of using the driveway and sidewalk. Lots of rain the night before. They did not put down a drop cloth at the door. They started putting it together and I pretty much knew right away this isn't going to work in this room. Even the delivery person said this is too big for this room. The pieces do not come together neatly, some are taller than others and the gaps between pieces are varying. While one delivery person was doing the electrical the other puts me on the phone with customer service prior to completion of the delivery. I told them they weren't done yet and I can't confirm satisfaction. I was told to call later and confirm satisfaction. I later called and expressed my dissatisfaction and said I wish to re-select to the other low profile one we were looking at. I even said I would pay a restocking fee. The other one was in stock, and it was $2K more. It never occurred to me the answer would be NO because I paid for premium delivery. I had several conversations with other customer service people and they all continued to say no....finally I got a supervisor and I asked what does it mean that due to Premium delivery there are no returns. What was my other option? She said if you would have ordered on line and it was shipped to the house, I could have returned it. DOES NOT MAKE SENSE!!! Another customer service agent called me the next day and when I told her that I did not confirm satisfaction on the return confirmation phone call, she said the calls are recorded. I will call you back tomorrow and verify that. I said, "Good, now you will know for sure that I did not give the ok for the sectional". NO CALL BACK ON SATURDAY. My sales agent called me on Friday. She told me she would check with somebody to see if she can help. She told me to do a bad review on Facebook and that sometimes gets customer service to allow the return. Now it is Sunday. I guess this is my only recourse. We are repeat customers of expensive items. What a shame! Clearly this company does not put the customer first. I purchased two identical recliners from city furniture about two years ago $660 each At the time I also purchased the extended warranty for a little more money well about a year ago the recliners started tearing the leather that the head lies on started ripping on bothrecliners. it was tearing in the same place on each recliner, right where you lie your head. It was obviously a manufacture defect. so I called city furniture and told them that I had a warranty, they did nothing. They said the damage was so bad that it wasn't covered under the warranty. This company is an absolute scam. You have 3 days to report damage and if you want to return anything there is a $99 restocking fee. My original delivery window was a Wednesday from 1pm-4pm, driver didnt show up until close to 5pm. Assembled the chair and on Friday morning (within 48 hours) reported a flaw in the material of the seat. I did so via the online chat. I was offered a $100 store credit or a $80 credit to my visa. I accepted the Visa credit. I then received a voicemail from someone named Ivan saying that what the online rep told me was wrong because I did not report the flaw within the first 24 hours. I called back and waited on hold for 25 minutes and spoke to a lady and told her what happened. She took notes and said she could do a $100 credit to my visa and gave me a credit memo #. Unbelievably, she calls me back within 5 minutes to tell me she was wrong again and cannot do the credit to my Visa. So now I have been told TWICE I would receive a credit back to my visa, once for $80 and the second time for $100. I then tell her I want to return the chair as I am over this shoddy, unethical company. She then proceeds to tell me there are no returns. I said what kind of policy is that and where does it say that? She says its the store policy so I go online and find out that is NOT the case. You can indeed return online orders within 3 days however there is a $99 restocking fee. She has to put me on hold to verify this and comes back and says yes you can return it but there is a $99 restocking fee. I chose not to do this for a $199 chair. In the end, the ONLY option I was given was to have a repairman come out on one day of the week only, doesn't matter if that day is not good, and he will have to say whether the chair can be fixed..... This is the WORST customer service I have received anywhere. If you buy anything here, just know you will be stuck with it no matter what is wrong with it and if any parts have to be ordered it will be a 3 month wait. Also know that they may offer you a credit, TWICE, and then call you back and say never mind we can't do that. Never, ever again will I. buy here and I will tell everyone I know not to step foot in this unethical business. PS. I contacted Caitlin from City Furniture below ASAP and have yet to receive a response from her. I believe it's just a post reply to make people think they acknowledge these reviews and try to make things right. Another scam. If contacted, I will update this post. Update 10-25-22: I received a phone call from Wendolyn at City furniture on Saturday 10/22/22, the day after I emailed kate@cityfurniture.com below. Conversation started out with her telling me that because I didn't report the damage within 24 hours they could not give me the discount that was offered to me twice and that the only thing they could do was send a repairman out. I said then why are you calling me because that's already where we stand and I'm not happy with that? She ended up offering to have a new chair sent with premium delivery but the soonest that would take place was 11/4/22. I explained to her that their return policy, or lack thereof, is completely unacceptable and I know of NO store where you cannot take an item back that you purchased within a couple days and get a complete refund. In fact, I told her about the chair I had previously purchased at Office Depot that I decided a few weeks later I did not like; I took it back to the store without a box and was given a hassle free refund, no questions asked. Office Depot is where I will be buying my next chair, definitely not City Furniture. Monday 10-24-22 I was contacted by the Charles from the City Furniture social media team regarding a post I made on Twitter. He explained to me that because I accepted the premium delivery from Wendolyn they could not provide the discount that was offered twice. I explained to him that Wendolyn did not offer me anything besides the premium delivery, she said that was all that could be done so of course I accepted, what else was I to do? Charles then offered to provide me a $50 discount in the form of a check or a $100 store credit. I let him know a store credit would be useless to me as I will never step foot in the City Furniture store again. My sales associate Marjorie took her time to show me around and help me pick out styles according to what I liked. I took in some dimensions and she was able to show me products that would fit perfectly. I had a good experience going into the store rather than buying online. The employees there helped so much and made sure that I left happy and the delivery guys were very profesional, quick and efficient during assembly of my product, they even gave me tips on how to take care of the product and showed me hot to disassemble if needed. Tried again to be kept in a loop for 30 mins while the operator tried to figure out who could talk to me (remember they called me) to then be told that the social media team doesn't have a direct number and someone would call me back. Nobody did. What a waste of time. We'll never buy anything from them of their parent company again** What an AWFUL experience that ended with me taking 3 days away from work and no furniture being received. Ordered a couch on line on Black Friday as a gift for our kids to have a games room. Selected pick up as we were moving house and had a U-Haul and movers to help. On pickup day, we called ahead to confirm the pickup time to be told that the couch was damaged and couldn't be picked up. No one was going to tell us this but we found out by calling ahead. The next item was not going to be in stock until Dec 22 so a rep offered to email us a list of all their available stock for immediate pickup to replace the damaged item. We never got an email from them. I texted the number I was given to communicate with him 3 times over the next 2 weeks and never received a response. After speaking with a store manager, they agreed to schedule a third party delivery on Dec 22 of the furniture when it came back in stock. On Dec 22, no delivery. On calling having waited at home all day I was told that they hadn't been able to find a delivery firm to bring it to me this close to Christmas. This was the first time they'd told us it wasn't going to be delivered again. Another manager found a delivery firm to finally deliver the couch on Dec 23. I communicated directly with the delivery driver who said I would get the delivery by noon. Noon came and went, so I reached back out to the driver for a new ETA. He told me that he went to pick the item up and my couch had been sold to another customer!!! Calling the store for a status, it took 1 1/2 hours to be called back. They claimed that the couch was damaged and not sold to another customer (who knows by this point) and there was nothing they could do to help me any more. So, after 3 days staying home, organizing trucks and movers, a lot of stress and almost zero proactive communication on their side, I'm left with no couch and therefore no gift. read more

I am very dissatisfied with the delivery of my furniture. I bought several pieces of furniture with City, spending thousands of dollars and paid for premium delivery. I had just put new flooring in my home- not even a month old. The delivery man did not put any floor covering down and then dragged a piece of the furniture across the bedroom floor creating 2 very deep scratch marks. The marks were not noticed until he walked out the door ( he was in a rush to leave and now I know why). We tried to catch him but he was already driving away. I immediately called the customer care line who contacted the driver. He denied doing it. Of course he did! I then submitted a claim form to the correct department and the claim was denied the next day, saying he did not do it. I spoke with customer care again 2 days later when they called about a survey. I told the representative what happened and she said she would look into and get back to me. Never heard back! I spend thousands of dollars at the Boca Raton store and they believe the delivery man over their customer. I will never do business again with City Furniture and I will never recommend them. I left City Furniture occoee location last night after a horrific experience. I'm sorry, I meant I was DISMISSED by the sales rep name Kenneth P. He helped us look around and told us that there was a 10% off sale today. Once I decided on a set I adviced him I will be applying for a credit card. After applying and getting approved he told us that the 10% discount only applies to a 6month finance term (which wasn't addressed prior to being approved. We had an expectation of receiving the 10% off.) When I questioned this he told me to call Synchrony bank he doesn't work for them. He reached out to a manager for some clarity on the application process. When she arrived to the table we were in, she NEVER even addressed us. She told him what she needed to tell him and walked away.(by the way I had asked for a Manager and he told me there was none.) When I started questioning the charges on the invoice he was unable to provide clarity instead he kept typing on the tablet and giving me different totals with NO explanation as to why the total kept changing. When I questioned the sales tax rate percentage came from he was unable to explain. He told me he doesn't work for the state and he doesn't know, that I would have to take it up with them. The 2nd time I questioned him about the total amount, he called someone on his earpiece and gave me a different amount. When I asked for clarity on the sales tax rate he said he "didn't know", the system calculates it, at that point he got frustrated and said "You can leave, I doesn't need our business" and he walked away from us. I don't understand how asking for clarity on a large purchase I am making turned into him walking away in the middle of a purchase? I wish there was a zero star. I WISH I would have read the reviews prior to going there. I will be following up with corporate. This is not how a sales rep should behave or how a company should be represented nor is it the proper way to treat a customer asking normal questions. read more

My experience with City Furniture was good from the start. I went into the store knowing exactly what I was looking for, and at no point during my visit was I badgered or swayed into getting something I didn't want. Although I'm not easily swayed into changing my mind to begin with. When I entered the store, I was quickly greeted by Lillian. I told her I was looking for a sleeper sofa, preferably something that would come in full (loveseat size). We knew this size would fit our space, however what I didn't say was that if it only came in Queen, then depending on the size, we were open to that. But I knew from searching online that only a few came in full, so that's where we started. I told her we definitely wanted a foam mattress option, and that I was not going to buy until my husband saw the couch first. She showed me 4 couches, and I instantly knew which one fit our style. The couch itself was comfortable, a huge selling point because 9 times out of 10 it would be used as a couch only. She left me alone to take pictures and talk with my husband. We agreed to meet up that night so he could see it. I went home and re-measured the space so we would know if the Queen would fit. We met back at the store after work, and Lillian was a bit busy, but kept popping back in to check on us. We decided to go home and measure everything one more time, but we knew which one we were going to take. After letting her know, she gently reminded me that she would not be in the next day as she was leaving for vacation. So after returning home, we agreed that the Queen was the best fit, and I drove back out again to complete the order. That was 1 week ago. Today I received my delivery. When I received the text message last night, it said to expect the delivery between 12-3 pm. They called and texted me to let me know they were about 20-30 minutes away. The delivery itself took about 5-10 minutes, as I opted just for the "inside the door free delivery" option. Everything went smoothly, and they were quickly on their way. After this experience, we will definitely be back. It's nice to have such a beautiful showroom floor not far away, and a great team of individuals who work there. read more

The store sales rep was great and very helpful the store manager not so much as the only thing they want to do is sell you the warranty package even if you said no they try and try and try to sell it to you. I bought part of my bedroom set on credit and the rest cash the store manager told me to get a 100 dollars discount I need to buy the 300 dollars guaranty package, so I pay 300 and then get 100 dollars discount !! what a great deal NOT. then one piece of my delivery got delay twice my purchase was in August 24 today sept. 17 and no piece of furniture I did canceled the order drove my self to Kane's furniture and bought the same piece 200.00 dollars less. I called city furniture several time to try to fix the problem I waited on my phone line 55 min. then recording if you want to get a phone call and skip the wait we can call you it never happen they never call me.my advice do your home work shop around dont buy at City Furniture. read more

We ordered two twinxl beds with base, we tried to like the beds and base but are not satisfied, my wife and could barely move to go to work. We called the next day and asked them to take it back cause we were verbally told we can do this We were told we could send back the items (not exchange) after 21 days. I had called on three occasions (twice too early) and on 2 of the times we called I was told they could make it happen after the 21 days and we would pay a restocking fee. Ive purchased here quite a few items but this last one is going to be my last time shopping here. I ordered an outdoor patio furniture in November 2020. I was told it was out of stock and I would get it in late February. March came and I reach out and they say it still out of stock and I should get it no later than April. Its now April 3rd and I just checked my order status and it say TENTATIVE AVAILABILITY DATE SAT, JUNE 5TH! Tentative! So that means it could change again! This is absolutely ridiculous. Why sell furniture you don't have. Or at-least dont charge me until you know you have it! So I got a good price and furniture is nice but customer service is horrible. So I spend about 7000 on a few rooms of furniture. I was told my couches would be delivered July 9th. We bought them because they were in stock. July 9th comes. Only the love seat is delivered. After waiting on hold 30 mins I'm told the one in stock Must have had a defect and that we will get the couch on the 29th. No accommodations for having to sit on the floor and being delayed. Now we hit the 15th I get an email. Couch will be delayed until aug 28Th. Another month. Call the company an hour and a half later still on hold. How do you conduct business this way. Horrible. Don't use them. Pay more and get better service. read more

Chris did a phenomenal job. Chris welcomed me and my family as soon as we entered the store. Chris was very courteous, explained the sales promotion and provided the layout of the store. Chris stated he will give us time to look around the store and he will check on us periodically to see if we had any questions. Due to the customer service Chris provided (as well as 3 other nice representatives) this is the only reason the store is receiving 4 stars. The remainder of the shopping experience was very interesting. As we were walking around and conversing about furniture pieces, a male sales representative approaches us and starts to let us know if furniture is available. At first he seemed like he was assisting Chris. As time progressed, we realized he was just an interceptor. He continued to follow us around the store and was very pushy with his customer service. The male representative never introduced himself and made us uncomfortable the entire time. The male representative with no name was only concerned about making a sale to pay off his shiny diamond ring (he made sure to use this specific hand when he was discussing furniture). To say the least he was abrasive and bothersome. If you decide to visit this location, you should ask for Chris or find a representative who respects you as a human and your space. Take my advice and you will be much happier if you avoid the sale sharks! read more

The displays and selection are worth the visit. At first we were greeted by a salesperson, but she didn't follow us around at all. In fact we never saw her again. It was fun to see all the furniture displays. The wine bar was an added bonus. Definitely worth dropping by just to see the new furniture store on the block. read more

So after my previous experience with City Furniture, today they were supposed to drop off replacements for the furniture they dropped off last week that was wrong. Well what shows up to my house today and is THE EXACT SAME WRONG FURNITURE. All I can figure is that they have blind people running the warehouse. They were including pictures of the problem furniture in my new order along with a special request to make sure they use their eyes to look at the furniture BEFORE packing it, which I guess is too much to ask. I don't even know where to go from here because I'm thinking the floor samples of the furniture are the only pieces they have that actually look like that and what you purchase is a very cheap knock off of the floor samples. Don't throw your money away. Seriously 4 of 4 pieces of furniture are wrong. Shortly the manager will reach out to me and do nothing to fix this. read more

Awful- this company has no integrity. We have purchased a large amount of furniture from city furniture as we moved recently to Florida and the company has declined immensely in the past couple years. The quality is cheap but the prices were on the cheaper side initially when we were shopping so that seemed to make up for it but the customer service is horrendous and if anything goes wrong with your item you have to do so much legwork and babysitting to get anything accomplished. we ordered a bed and mattress back in May 2022. Our bedframe was on back order and we were fine with that however several times we were alerted that we were going to be receiving the bedframe we got our entire room set up and prepared for the delivery and then last minute the delivery would be canceled saying that it was no longer available. one of the times the driver was still planning on coming way past his delivery window - my kids were already in bed and we were going to sleep - and he was still trying to come to our house at 11 PM to deliver the items. The next morning the items were no longer available and we had to wait another several weeks. The only explanation was that the bedframe items were on back order and suddenly became unavailable again! no one could explain why this kept happening to us at least four times. When the bed set finally came , which was at this point months past when it was expected, all the pieces did not fit properly and so we needed a refund. The items that we decided to return were picked up a couple weeks ago now yet, I still to this day have not received my refund. when I chat with people for an update they either can't help me or tell me that they don't see any notes, or when I call customer service I am on hold for 30 minutes at a time and sometimes I can't stay on long enough because I have kids and a life to get back to. Most people I speak with are rude, unapologetic and unhelpful and seem like they just want to dump me off onto someone else. read more

I ordered a dining room table April 7 and 3 months later I still have not gotten all of the pieces to my table. They apparently mislabeled the last delivery and so they brought out the same piece again today because they mislabeled the product and then tried to blame me for giving them the wrong information. Now I have to wait another month and a 1/2 to get the correct piece. I am so not happy and this is absolutely ridiculous and the worst customer service I have ever seen in my entire life. Had I known that it was going to take almost 6 months for me to get a table I would have not ordered it. And all I get is I'm sorry, I understand and nobody is doing anything about it.
