City Line has always been hubs' first line of defense when it comes to his sandwich needs. But this time, he placed an order a week prior for a Grilled Chicken Cutlet 3' Sandwich with Roasted Peppers, Lettuce and Mozzarella and an Italian-style one to bring to a Jones Beach party. Grilled Chicken sandwich had the spotlight plus everyone raved about how refreshing it was. Other folks also enjoyed the Italian style 3' sandwich prepared real nice with thinly sliced deli meats. I'm not a meat eater but I do appreciate a damn good looking sandwich that's been well thought of- like they put their whole foot in it. These guys at City Line thought of everything: heavy-duty board (of some kind) is used to balance the heavy ašš sandwiches in place while you're in transit. Bread slices weren't the biased cut or straight either you usually get from other delis. Theirs are cut into Triangles from tip to tip. Then they're wrapped super tight and sealed. The box itself is secured in all angles and taped on the ends and middle. Damage you wanna know? About $100. We've done Stop & Shop's version of their 2' sandwiches- but they're boring. I went to City line for lunch today, asked the young lady who's one of the cooks to change her hlives bcz I'm a vegan, she hets an attitude an refuses to make your food she'll just take your order. I've recently been shopping here because of a conversation I had with the owner Vinnie about the importance of good bread for a sandwich, which they had. So when looking for a six foot wedge for NYE I thought of City Line first. When I went in to order Vinnie took the pre order and described how he cut the sandwich and other details. He even asked what time I would like to pick up since he likes to make the sandwiches as close to when they are going to be picked up so they stay fresh. Long story short before even biting into my first piece on NYE I could tell the bread was stale and or old. It was hard inside and out, from the outside in. My guests even commented the same thing without me even saying it first. What was even worst was today when I called around noon to talk to Vinnie, Rich one of the cashiers said he was too busy to talk, and to call back around three. Then at 3pm he was still too busy and Rich took my name and number for him to call me. Never heard from anyone. read more

I hadn't eaten here in a while because their breakfast sandwiches left much to be desired. I once ordered a sandwich with 2 eggs, bacon and cheese. I'm pretty certain that it was just one egg mixed with milk. The eggs were fluffier, and moister than they should've been. Skip to, maybe a year later. In the area for work, and decided on stopping there for lunch. I figure, how can they mess up a soup and a buttered roll. I ask, "How much is the soup?" The cook responded, "Small is $2.99, and big is $3.99" I repeated back to him. "Small $2.99 and large $3.99" He said, "Yes" and showed me the difference in sizes. I said, "I'll take a large beef barley and one of those seeded rolls with butter." I go to pay and told the lady behind the counter. My order. She charged me $4.99 for the soup and $1.50 for the roll. I said, "He told me a large is $3.99" She said, "No. small is $3.99. Large is $4.99" The cook walked over and nodded his head at the lady in agreement. I said, "No. he told me it was $3.99 for large." She said, "Well, he made a mistake." I said, "Then I don't want it." And walked out. It may seem ridiculous to just walk out over $1, but when you're told a certain price, and they try to change it on you, they should honor the mistake. So, now they get no dollars from me. I never thought their food was ever really that good, but I was in the mood for soup, and figured that even if it came out of a Campbell's can, it couldn't be too bad. Which I wouldn't put past them if that was what they did. I just know that now, I won't "give it a shot" with them anymore. I just feel bad for the next person who orders beef barley soup because, again, wouldn't put it past them to just toss what was in that container back in the pot with the rest of the soup. read more

Very good neighborhood deli. Soups are savory and made with care. Sandwiches are pretty typical for Westchester, mainly made from Boar's Head. Bread and rolls are quality. The boss occasionally makes a special grilled chicken sandwich with a bruschetta and goat cheese topping that is fabulous. Pair that with wild rice salad if it's available. Hot foods are better than average. The SOD sandwich of the day is usually a great deal. Prices are reasonable. Regulars do get a bigger hello but I don't think the place is unfriendly. Good for the basics. Nice fresh sandwiches, hot food with decent flavor. You have to get there 15 minutes before Noon or else you will be waiting for some time. Overall that place isn't half bad. Breakfast sandwiches are also good. The place itself isn't aesthetically pleasing but it's a deli. You zip in and you zip out. I have to agree with one of the people on the reviews, the woman who works there seems to always be in a terrible mood. Not friendly at all. Absolutely the best. Vinny works hard to make very good food. He works long hours and it shows. If you need something special he will almost always accommodate you. His selection and prices for catering cannot be beat. I've been going there for more than 25 years and I am treated like family as are most of his customers. On Tuesdays he always has chicken scarparelli. It is worth going there for that on a sandwich. Meatballs and sausage are also good. His grilled chicken on a sandwich is great if you are watching your calories. I highly recommend this deli. read more

i usually stop by this white plains deli on broadway during breakfast time cause the egg whites on a roll are decent and eggs are not bland as some other places. some seating inside if you prefer which i do as i can read my morning newspapers with no distractions. good selection of sandwiches , soups, burgers, fries , muffins, etc. the few times i ordered some sandwiches and soups for the go, both my brother and i were satisfied and prices are more then reasonable. its away from the downtown area but the places closer to my pad are nothing to brag about. overall a decent clean deli that will make you a regular if you live in the area. read more

Went in and ordered a Italian combo. Two of us scoffed this wedge. It was awesome. The amount of meat was outstanding.

Stay away. Unless you have an hour to wait for your order to be taken and another hour to wait for your order to be made. First, the guy making the sandwiches was not wearing gloves. And to say he was manhandling the food would be an understatement. When it came time to pay for our order, the woman charged us $10 insisting we ordered a bacon, turkey, egg and cheese when we ordered a turkey egg and cheese. Then she claimed she forgot to charge us for our second sandwich when we clearly ordered together. Who charges $10 for ONE breakfast sandwich?! Got to the car only to find out neither sandwich was correct. I would hate to see their service when it's actually busy. read more

After traveling around North White Plains in search of a deli I finally found City Line. Its right near the N White Plains train station. As far as I could tell the only place you can park i son the street. Its a small Italian deli that does free delivery and also can cater. As for the food they had a pretty good italian combo. It seems to be the closest deli to my new locale so I'm sure I'll be back. read more

If you have not gone back to the new and enlarged Citi Line Deli, you really should make a trip there. The same cast of players is still there including the owners, workers and long standing customers! What the owners thought would be a 2 month job turned into 7 months. The place is now double the size, has several indoor tables and soon will have an outdoor dining area as well. ... I have to say this is my favorite place to get a really thick, juicy, black angus cheese burger with bacon!!! Look in a text book for great burgers and this should be there!!! ... The fries are also how I like them, well done if you ask! There's tons more, like a great roast loin of pork with sauteed onions. The best way to explain this place is it's restaurant food at deli prices! The guys there are also a lot of fun with great music always playing in the backround, love retro things ( a statue of "Betty Boop" next to "Sammy" for example ) and do out of the norm things like wrapping the sandwiches in gift paper during the holidays. They are opened 7 days a week from early in the morning till late ( Sundays they close mid afternoon). Oh I forgot, want to argue sports, this is the perfect spot especially with two wide screen TV's. It's the kind of place where you get to know all the regulars and also know it's OK to feel like you're still in your 20's or 30's or whatever age because everyone else does too! Give it a try! I really like the food here but I could do without the poor service and bad attitude you get from everyone. Not very pleasant people in there at all, unless you're a regular from the past 20 years or grew up in the neighborhood. Nonetheless, they have the best hard rolls and bread in the area, the food is very good, and the place is very clean. I was at a Church function last evening and City Line Deli catered the event!! The food was delicious. The selections were fabulous. I highly recommend the BLT salad, Southwestern salad with quinoa or bulgar(don't know which). Swedish meatballs, the antipasto tray with meat and cheeses looked great and the mini sandwich platters. Walked in the deli the Spanish lady who works the counter looks at me up and down and rolls her eyes, like if by me walking into the deli ruined her day. I walked up to the counter to look at the breakfast menu to order and didn't see one, so I said "good morning" do you have a breakfast menu" she just flat out said NO didn't even tell me what they offered, or if I was looking for something in particular, she just gave me a look like don't bother me. Sorry to say but I was a regular for a very short time and never received any decent customer service that I could remember. On my last visit one of the employees clearly talked about me behind me back to his colleague - they had a nice chuckle. I felt it was discrimination. Even the cashier could tell her employee was being out of line but didn't apologize to me. I was so disgusted I will never step foot in there again and have told all my friends the same. I'm a native New Yorker but now live in Vail, CO... I don't need to tell anyone who lives outside of the tri-state area that finding a deli like one you find here is nonexistent!! I was visiting family & shopping in the area when I told my sister I was hungry and she suggested the City Line Deli. I knew it had to be good as it's not often she goes out of her way to eat. I walked in at about 6pm and it seemed they were wrapping up for the day but were very friendly & accommodating. I ordered from Frank (?) the Cuban sandwich and he disappeared to the back to make the most amazing, fresh & ridiculously tasty Cuban Sandwich I have EVER eaten!! I shared it in the car (because that's how far I got before I had to break into the bag) with my sister & niece. Had it not been as late as it was, I would have gone back inside to order another!! I did go back in & get their menus for my Brother-in-laws office so they could order lunch from the City Line... I knew they would appreciate this place. We also got a cup of the creamiest & most delicious rice pudding to share as well.... ahhh.... the memories.... As I sit here in the cold & snowy mtns. of Vail... eating a bowl of homemade Italian Wedding Soup (cause they can't figure out how to make that either here) I count the days until I can visit the City Line Deli for another delicious meal!!! read more
