I had a tuna salad sandwich and Miss Vicky's dill pickle and jalapeño chips. The dill pickle chips were out of this world. The tuna salad was so cold and refreshing after a long bike ride. I loved every tasty fresh fresh bite. The kindest people inside. I was happy to pay. They literally gave me the lunch that they were gonna take home. Who does that? Stopped by Dominic's for lunch while passing through Tarrytown and it was so delicious that I came back in two weeks again, specifically for their signature sandwich #2. The hero loaf ($13.95) is studded with sesame and the hot roast beef is so tender and flavorful, while the chipotle aioli helps cut through the muenster and beef. The grilled onions add a sweetness to the sandwich and the grilled hot peppers can be a hit or miss depending on how spicy they are. Overall, a fantastic sandwich that I absolutely fell in love with. I also ordered the signature sandwich #3 on a roll ($10.50) with honey turkey, which was very generously portioned and also excellent (but not as standout as the roast beef). The staff are extremely helpful and chatty-- don't be afraid to ask questions! I came around the tail end of the lunch rush around 2pm and there were still people coming in after me as well. I just had my first sandwich from Dominic's in Tarrytown. Being a roast beef fan, and discovering (like all good delis) their roast beef was homemade, I opted for the hot roast beef wedge. I am not overstating this. It was by far the best roast beef sandwich I have ever had. And as my go to sandwich order, I have had a LOT of roast beef sandwiches. This one was absolutely incredible. I don't know if it was how they cooked the beef, or the aioli they used, or both but it was warm and moist and so so tasty. The five star review are real. You name it, they have it, from Italian specialties like Mortadella with pistachio, Coppa and Dilusso Soppresata, to a nice tea selection, and even non-sandwich classics like LPs! You can build your own or choose from their "Signature" set. Mind you, the sandwiches are HUGE...both of ours could feed two people each. I had the #5 Signature - chicken cutlet, prosciutto from Italy, mozzarella, roasted red peppers and balsamic. On a roll for $9.95. Weighs in at 250lbs :) See pic. I got the #5 Chicken Cutlet, Prosciutto, Mozzarella, Arugula, Roasted Peppers and Balsamic - and enjoyed every bite, but also loved being able to pull off the prosciutto that was hanging from the side to eat in between my bites. I was only able to finish half of my sandwich so saved the other half for when we got back home. My brother got the Italian Combo and it was also fantastic. Oh, and it's less than $11 for the massive sandwiches! Also, I paired my sandwich with some Italian fruit beverage (Tangerine & Prickly Pear), which was refreshing. The owners are always friendly, fun people. The food is tasty at a great price point, just make sure to come early because they sell out some ingredients later in the day. I've had the two grilled chicken special sandwich types, and one sandwich on a hero is enough food for me for a whole day (and I eat a ton of food). The sesame hero is a great bread btw. Fantastic NY deli that I'd come back in a heartbeat! First off, amazing staff...the lady behind the counter taking our order was friendly and funny and helped us navigate ingredients when they ran out of some of the sandwiches, while the gentlemen making the sandwiches were truly connoisseurs. I really wanted the Signature #5 but the last one was ordered right in front of me (ugh!). Instead, I ordered an Italian hero while my wife ordered the Hot Roast Beef (Signature #2 - w/ Muenster cheese, hot peppers, grilled onions). Of course we had to add a mac salad side. Both sandwiches were delicious - well seasoned and loaded with the fixings. The mac salad was excellent. We should have ordered a pint! Very reasonably priced and even better given how big the sandwiches were (~$28 after tip for 2 large heroes and the mac). We will have to make a special trip back just to try the #5! read more

As the default Italian deli located right in the heart of Tarrytown, Dominic's is well trafficked and a little off center. This is the only Italian deli I've ever been to that has a record section. There's flyers for events in town. The family that runs the place is down to earth, honest and easy to talk to; they're also funny as hell which is a big plus, as I hate delis where everyone is pissed off all the time. They have Manhattan Special, which is a huge plus in and of itself; this is espresso coffee soda that is hard to find and an absolutely must if you love coffee. Sandwiches I've tried so far are the chicken parm and the #5. Chicken parm was solid with good bread that held up to the hefty sandwich. Wish they went heavier with the sauce, although it seems to go better with the eggplant parm. The #5 (chicken, proscuitto, mozzarella, arugula, roasted red peppers, balsamic) was even better. Not sure if the roasted red peppers are homemade, but they taste like it. Proscuitto portion was generous but not so much to overwhelm the sandwich. Balsamic was good quality and added the right amount of acidity. I got grilled chicken instead of a cutlet (to be healthy, blah blah blah) and I actually liked it more. Mozzarella was kind of just there, so might do it with a sharper cheese next time. Others have gotten eggplant parm, the #2 and other sandwiches to good results. Chip selection is limited but good stuff (Hal's) and there is also the obligatory assortment of other Italian goods. Short version: this is a great Italian deli that should make Tarrytown proud. Just an update of photos, another week, five more sandwiches, can't go wrong in this place. This go around we had Chicken Cutlet, Ham & Cheese subs, Italian Combo, plain Roast Beef on rolls and an Eggplant warp. As I stated in my previous review the sandwiches are Jurassic Park proportions - love this place & by the looks of it so do many more. At prime time lunch hour usually there's a line of people outside either waiting to order or to pick up. My advice is to order by phone. They do know how to make a great sandwich. read more

This is the first place we hit when in Tarrytown. It is a small mom and pop style deli with a broad sandwich menu. The prices are good, and the sandwiches are incredible. The sandwich is not only insanely large but the ingredients are super fresh, top notch and perfectly portions and compiled. The bread is fresh and soft, easy to handle and nothing slides around. Yelp never steers me wrong. I needed catering for a work event and I prefer only to use the local businesses. I found Dominic's and reached out to the owner to coordinate our lunch event for 50 people the following day. My coworker and I got ourselves sandwiches when we went in to place the order and his response was "I'm going to have to unhinge my jaw to eat this incredible sandwich." Absolutely 10 STARS. My whole family (7kids+ Son in law + husband) decided on a whim to meet in NY for the weekend and explore Sleepy Hollow. Not wanting to be stuck in long lines (party of 10!) waiting for a restaurant, we decided a picnic would be the best way. I found Dominic's and called them. I'm sure they thought I was nuts, but Joe was brave and took a chance. I sent in my order on Thursday and Saturday at 12:30, we went in to pick up and everything was PERFECT. I highly recommend- the sandwiches were HUGE and delicious. We sent the leftovers home with the Boston kids and they have food for days. The hot roast beef is probably the best deli sandwich I've ordered in about a decade. This sandwich, which is on their signature menu, came out with roast beef piled high (easily and inch thick) on crunchy bread. The outer layers of beef were brown and crisped from the grill, but the inner slices were still pink - like a perfect medium rare steak. The Muenster cheese was melted down to goo over grilled onions and hot peppers, all measured in perfect proportions to complement the beef. The sandwich comes in two bread options: a roll for $8.50 and a hero for $10.75. I opted for the larger of the two and will get two meals out of it. Deliciously perfect execution and a huge portion makes this a great value to me. The menu as a whole plays to their strong sandwich game. In addition to the 6 signature offerings, you can of course build your own, and they do offer some more eclectic options like mortadella. The rest is more limited. They also make wraps and some tempting salads, and while they listed some potentially good homemade sides like potato salad and cole slaw, I didn't see them on display in the case. The dessert bar I bought was locally sourced from a Hudson Valley bakery, but it was just OK. There is a small counter by the front window, but really this is a grab-and-go spot. The sandwich was in my hand five minutes after I ordered. We're looking forward to returning soon to take their breakfast menu for a test drive. read more
