During our travels my little Shiba developed an eye infection. I had a hard time getting an emergency appointment but was referred to City Line by a Vet in Princeton Il. They actually only take walk in patients (no res.). Maybe it was luck, but they got to us in within minutes. It was $120 for the visit which included 4 prescriptions. Everyone including the Dr. were compassionate and caring. The Doc (to be named later) said I'm welcome to bring Bella in for a recheck on our way back to Colorado and New Mexico. City Line performs a very professional and caring service for a reasonable price. I can't say enough to describe our great experience with them. read more

She has recovered now. When I called city line and explained all this they put me on hold and have every time I've called the manager 5 times now, no return call. What should have been an office visit and oral antibiotics turned into an extra week of pain and another $1900 in medical costs due to mis diagnosis. They will not call back or take my call. Prescribed Proin, even tho my dog is highly allergic to the flavoring. not sure if the vet even referred to the chart as my dog is highly allergic to beef. took over two weeks for some one to response to my concerns. 3 phone calls with promises to call back, but never did. i had to go in there, to get some anti bbiotics bc my dog has an allergic reaction. was told there was a different flavor and i can order online. never got the info on how to. promised to call me to give me the details. i follow up get put on hold for about 11 minutes then disconnected 2 times today. I found out today form another vet, that my dog is allergic to PROIN! and my dog had seizure this morning and lost control of his bladder. this place may be good for routine stuff. but i have serious doubts about going back. nah... i wont ever. time to find a new vet. one who actually examine ,y animal and notice the massive list of allergens before prescribing drugs. isn't the first time this vet prescribed for my dog that caused serious issues with my animal. wonder if he just prescribes drugs where he gets incentive from the manufacturer. It's been awhile but I'm adding another review because this place deserves it. I posted before about appreciating the care my kitty, Macaroni, got when she was sick and diagnosed with chronic kidney disease 1 year ago. Thanks to the help and guidance I was given by CityLine, I got 4 more months with Mac before she went into another episode of acute on chronic kidney failure and her little body gave up on her. I knew the day had arrived and I called CityLine to tell them we'd be coming in although I also knew they didn't take appointments. Through my sobs, the kind lady on the other end of the phone told me they tried to accommodate people in my situation as quickly as possible. When we arrived with Macaroni, they almost immediately put us into a room that had been set up specifically for an animals last moments. Dr. Hoyt came in and said all the things I needed to hear and answered all the questions I had. He assured me, I was making the best decision for my sweet girl. He explained everything as it was happening and gave us more than enough time with her after it was over. He was kind despite my screams and wails and anger that he had done what I asked for, what I knew needed to be done. They organized pick up with a local animal crematory and also had an option for me to get some clay paw prints made up for my family and I. It was a hard day but they did the best they could to make it easier... I will always be grateful. read more

We were visiting Nana in Davenport for Thanksgiving and our dog got into a piece of raisin bread that someone had dropped on the ground. We came to City Line after learning they were a walk in based clinic from another veterinarian who didn't have any availability. City Line's great service started when we called them - they said they could take our dog back right away and induce vomiting. We drove straight there. The check in process was easy and straightforward, and they did take our dog back right away. Their quick service meant they were able to get her to throw up before she had digested the raisins. After everything was said and done, the vet took some time to talk with us and answer all the questions we had. The whole thing took less than an hour, and the price was very reasonable. Having to go to the emergency vet is always stressful, but City Line made it as good as possible. They'll be our first stop for any future pet emergencies in the Quad Cities. read more

Since moving back to the Quad Cities in 2016 we've low-key shopped for veterinarians, trying out a new vet every time vaccinations came due, but after finding City Line Veterinary Center last fall and making several subsequent visits, I think we're done looking. I've really liked every staff member my dogs and I have come into contact with at the office. It's convenient that no appointment is necessary for most, if not all, services, and my dogs have generally been seen very quickly. Pricing is competitive. The location is great. I'm giving this 2 stars because I know that I have an anxious dog. With that being said, the set up in this location is hell for dogs with anxiety. You walk directly in to a common room with roughly 10 doors, all of which have people and dogs continually coming and going. I brought my dog here hoping to have a new day care spot for him to run and play, and had my 9 month old in tow. My dog is fully up to date on his shots, and they told me he ALSO needs a flu shot and fecal testing to go to daycare. I agreed to both, and they took him back for his shot, to gather a fecal sample, and "slowly introduce" him to other dogs. Less than 5 minutes later he was brought back out. I was told that he "instant failed" because he nipped at another dog. Understandable. I was then told that if I would like to have his teeth and ears checked a vet would do so complimentary. We went into a room and sat for more than a half hour with no vet or anyone else letting us know what was going on. I packed up my son, dog and myself and went to checkout. I was told that my total was $68 and they did indeed get a fecal sample for testing. In the less than 5 minutes that he was out of my sight. While he was also getting a flu shot and being slowly introduced to another new dog to be tested into daycare. I feel completely ripped off, have no idea what I paid $68 for and absolutely will not be returning. read more

The Vet herself Very unprofessional, basically calling me a lier. Saying it was two against 1. I told her to bring the lady at the desk in and talk to me face to face. We came to City Line with our 12 yr old pup, Liberty, who was experiencing labored breathing. The sweet staff quickly got her on oxygen to help her get some relief. Dr. Milas came in to give us the news that our sweet girl had fluid on the outside of her lungs that was making it hard for her to breathe. She delicately took us through the process of what they'd need to do to find the cause and hopefully treat it. It turns out, the fluid was blood and her chances of coming back from this was not likely. We had to make the heartbreaking decision to let our girl go. We cannot thank Dr. Milas enough for her candor + empathy through this sudden + unexpected experience. We were able to stay with our girl til the end + say goodbye which is a rarity given Covid. We were treated tenderly the entire time by a Doctor + staff who genuinely love animals. This was our first experience with City Line and although it was a sad one - I would not hesitant to go back if we ever need to with our other pup, Charlie. Thank you, Dr. Milas + City Line, for making the most of a horrible day. We won't forget it. RIP Sweet Liberty. read more

To be a bit more clear: vets would rather let pets starve than accept a prescription from another EXTREMELY reliable vet without charging for an exam, an exam that he's been having every 2 weeks for the past month and a half. PS. Sarah, I think you might be doing more harm than good with your responses to people. Recently checked them out, fell in love and was going to transfer my dog to them in the new year when he was due for his new vaccines. However, the fact that they won't help my dog out with diabetic dog food, even given an authorization from the Animal Hospital, is VERY disheartening and uncaring for a company who centers their values around "proper care" and requires ALOT to even have pets there. Response to Sara: I called because she was still trembling and I asked what to do. I was told to bring her in again, for another exam and x-ray. I did NOT insist on the x-rays.. I said yes to them because I was okay with what needed to be done to figure this out. Your vet told me that she had a tear in her CCL. That is completely incorrect. There is no tear. ------------ We brought our furbaby Rey here on Friday due to trembling and lethargic activities.. After $100+, the vet found nothing wrong with her.. but said she had a slight fever, and gave us Vetprofen. 1/2 a pill every 12 hrs. Saturday morning she was worse.. so we took her back and spent another $100+ on this. She had an x-ray done and we were told that she had a slight tear or rupture in her cranial cruciate ligament. I had to ask weekday that was.. and i was told it compares to the ACL in humans. I had questions about this but was told the Dr had already left for the day... that's it.. no idea on how long the recovery is.. what the do's and don'ts are.., and why she was barely eating. I didn't receive any detailed explanation on what to do next. --------- So.. This morning Rey was crying and didn't get much sleep last night, so we took her to Furever Family. Dr. Rider listened to me describe what was going on.. and what all City Line Veterinary Center did for us on Friday and Saturday. She read the x-rays and told us that she did not see a tear or rupture in her cranial cruciate ligament (CCL). She said everything looked great with her legs, except that her ankles are swollen. She was running a 103.8 fever, and she did an exam for ticks, and other bites, and found nothing. She did blood work on her and found that she has a lot of red and white blood cells attacking her.. so she drew joint fluid out and had diagnosed her with an Autoimmune disease. She stopped the Vetprofen, started her on Gabapentin for pain, Omeprazole for acid reflux, and starting Friday she will be taking Prednisone for the healing. We were there from 2:30 to 6:45p and they close at 6! Dr. Rider cares about her career, and you can honestly tell by the work she did for us! She told us that if we would have done what the vet said to do at City Line, we could have lost Rey.. So.. i am just going to say.. SHAME ON YOU #CityLine Veterinary Center! We came to you for help with our furbaby, we listened to you.., we followed your instructions, and gave you our money ($266+) for what?!!? The Vetprofen??? No one has called today to check on how she is doing!, I am appalled at your lack of professionalism, and help that you did not give us! I will never send anyone to your care.. or lack there of.. Rey is on the mend now thanks to Dr. Rider at Furever Family Veterinary Care Center. We had to spend more money, but this time I feel that we got our monies worth with the help Rey needs!! read more

Took my dog into city line vet urgent care for possible broken leg. I sat for almost 5 hours before she was taken back. During that time I was told a couple times that I was next and should only be 15 more minutes. I seriously think a 5 hour wait is ridiculous. Today was my first and last experience with City Line Veterinary Clinic. I traveled there as it came recommended as a physical therapy clinic that could meet our needs. Our boy was recovering from extensive knee surgery, and in need of some ongoing physical therapy. My husband called the first time, and was told we could come in at anytime for this service. We asked if that Thursday would be all right, and they confirmed it could be anytime. That morning as we were preparing to make the hour plus journey to the clinic, we called to confirm and see what we needed to bring. We were told that we could NOT just come in for physical therapy, and would need to schedule a consult first. We were very disappointed as we needed to get him started on the PT, but we scheduled the appointment for the following week on Tuesday. I brought him in just before his 2'00 appointment. Upon arriving, I noticed that the floors were incredibly slick, there was even a caution sign, but NO traction rugs available anywhere. I struggled to help my giant breed puppy navigate the busy room and get up to the front desk. I tried checking in, but no one seemed to know what was going on. A man behind the counter asked for my dogs name and my last name, then asked why I was there. I gave him the information and told him I was there for a PT consult. He appeared to be confused and said something about not having an appointment. I tried to explain that we were coming for a consult as we were informed on the phone previously that we couldn't come for PT until that was done. He asked another staff for help. She said, she needs to see the vet it's fine. I said, we have an appointment, at 2pm for a consult. She said yep, take a seat. A moment later she said, actually it's going to be about an hour and a half wait, do you want to reschedule? I said, 'I said, Why?! We have an appointment, I can't reschedule. We drove from well over an hour away and already rescheduled once. He needs to be seen today. We will wait.' She explained that there was an emergency surgery that had occurred pushing everything behind schedule. I said, 'No problem, I understand, we will wait, he really needs to be seen.' I sat down in the waiting area, for about an hour, struggling to manage my giant puppy, as he slipped and slid on the flooring as dog after dog passed by. There was absolutely no place for him to get any traction at all. I was shocked by this, in a facility where animals come for physical therapy. After waiting just over an hour, a lady came out and called our name. I was thrilled, I jumped up and assisted him across the slippery surface to go see the Dr, however we never even made it that far. The lady that called for him said, Someone should have told you we can't see you today. I said, 'We have an appointment. We just drove from an hour and a half away...We have been sitting here waiting for over an hour!' She said, 'Yeah they should have told you. Do you want to go ahead and reschedule?' I will NOT be rescheduling. I cannot express enough how clearly the staff there JUST DON'T CARE. I'm not sure if this is just how the facility is run, or if the team is just used to disorganization and chaos. I can't believe the lack of regard they have for patients and potential patients. Absolutely unreal. If there is this level of chaos, disorganization and disregard on the front lines when you enter the facility, I can't even imagine what goes on behind the scenes. I'm incredibly disappointed that I wasted two weeks of my time, and my entire day today waiting to get into what I thought was a top notch rehab facility. I can't even begin to describe how upsetting the whole ordeal was. I'm now back to the drawing board and will have to start the process of finding a physical therapy location all over again. I STRONGLY advise others to look elsewhere if you are looking for consistency, professionalism and decency, because you will not find it here. Based off of other reviews I read there seems to be a trend of disregard for customer service. I wish I had read before scheduling, and hope to save others the time. read more

I have been to City Line Veterinary twice now. First time, I saw their vet, Dr. Trenkamp, because my Bengal cat was having some issues due to being sensitive to household cleaning materials. Typically, what vets do when this happens is to give him fluids and put him on anti-nausea medication. I had to tell Dr. T how to take care of my cat and what to do because she wasn't going to do either of those things. She said it was a heart issue because his heart was beating irregularly at that time. This was concerning to me so I asked if this was possible because of him being at the vet? She said no. I then come find out, the results were completely normal and the other vet conveyed he wasn't sure why that test was done in the first place. Alright, so that was my first experience. Not great, but nothing to be upset about. So, about a week ago, I took my 13 yr old tabby cat in because I wasn't able to get in with my amazing vet. As we all know, vets are very busy right, so it's hard to find a vet currently that you can be seen promptly. My diabetic cat was going through some very concerning issues. I bring him after work and I knew I was going to have to wait, which was fine. I showed up around 6pm and they said I would have to wait in the car with my cat for about an hour and a half. The wait was less was only an hour, which was awesome. They called and I explained his symptoms and they suggested the senior blood panel and to check his glucose levels, which was perfect. Now for the part that made me a little annoyed about this visit... I get my cat back and his back legs and hindquarters have been wiped off, but they left a pile of feces in his carrier and gave him back to me that way. The excrement, by the time I received him, had been partially dry, so it wasn't like he had done this on the way out to my car, which means they wiped him off and put him back in his carrier with feces still in there. I then drove the 20 minutes home with a very upset, crying kitty. Sure, this is not the greatest thing to deal with but not something I was going to get extremely upset about. The next day, I had called twice to try and get his results. I understood that they were busy and this might take some time. The 2 times that I had called I was on hold for 20 minutes and then hung up on. The following day, I tried calling them for the 3rd time, and soon after giving up, Dr. Hoyt called to give me my results on my cat. He said he had a UTI and that I might want to try the insulin again because it was slightly elevated. I said I didn't think that was a good idea because I had tried to give him half a dose of his insulin an about a week prior and he started having very bad trembles. I said I will follow up with my regular vet. I also wanted to bring to his attention the issue I had with the excrement in the carrier. I did not curse at him nor was rude in any way but wanted to bring it to his attention. I, as a business owner, would want to know when someone leaves our business unhappy so I can rectify the situation so it doesn't happen again. I was not rude, nor mean to Dr. Hoyt. I even thanked him at the end of the phone call for his time. The following day, I call my regular vet because his symptoms persisted and they were able to get me in the following morning. They did a more extensive examination and ran some more tests. I was told to NOT give any insulin (as suggested by City Line) and that he did NOT have a UTI (as City Line said he did). He has asthma and his levels are very low where insulin would have been a bad move. So why am I writing this one-star review? Doesn't sound that awful, I mean they didn't kill my cat, and honestly, I wasn't even that upset until today. I get home and I open a letter from City Line; a letter banning me from their business. They said "Unfortunately, your behavior and interactions with our personnel over the past few days have made it impossible for the doctors and staff here to communicate with you in that fashion. As a result of this, we will be unable to provide any further medical care for your pets." I am in shock and offended by this. I would love to know what I said to you to ban me from your establishment. I didn't intend on ever going back anyways but this is astonishing to me and now I'm just curious. Seriously, please feel free to call me or even respond to my review of your establishment. Since Yelp doesn't allow a reply to your response: I want to add I wasn't even given the choice to sedate my "naughty" cat. I would have happily done so, if given the option. I'm still confused about the behavior part and as a business owner, if someone came to me to voice their concerns calmly, I would appreciate them coming to me, not ban them. Made an appointment over the phone on Feb. 21 for our dog, Ollie, to be groomed on the 29th at 8am. I took the dog in at 745and they stated they had no record of any appointment made. They offered half off his next grooming,but I just wanted to know what happened. I received no explanation, other than a meek apology. We have 3 animals we take here for vet care, so we spend a lot of money here. Even with proof we called, it didn't matter. Absolutely poor customer service. One stars because the staff is friendly. However, I have 2 puppies on their puppy premium package, and was not informed of how to use their vet to pet or petly app or even that they existed. The mailed notices come the week after I visit. When I signed up I asked them to remove my husbands contact info as I am the owner/ payee on our new puppies. They continue to text him and not me about apps I cannot access and did not know existed. I also told them the large breed puppies would not be neutering until after they are a year old. I continue to get post cards stating we are late on scheduling the 7 month old puppies neutering. My husband was lectured on bringing the youngest puppy in late and had to pay extra for a booster shot when I did not receive a notice. read more

I've been going to City Line for about a year and a half. I had an older dog that was going through unknown issues, at 17 years old. Our first visit we were told that there were no issues besides that he was getting older and that all was normal with age. He began to act even worse, it took a head vet only months later to tell me he was actually in heart failure. We lost him only a month or so after. We have another dog that is 7 years old that now has issues with lumps. After xrays and all, we could never get a straight answer. Every answer we have ever had from this vet was consistently back and forth with no consistent answer. Two different dogs, two different issues. I have never walked out of City Line feeling confident that my vet was really knowledgeable and knew what they were saying or doing. I find City line is convenient for vaccines but no real canine issues. I feel like the vet we talked with on a normal bases didn't have a long enough career for what they were dealing with. I would have felt better with a more experienced vet. I do not believe you can say "I've never seen this before" without having many years in practice. I went to a different vet tonight and really see the difference between experience and not enough. read more

Just an addendum to the Sara B comment: All I wanted was to leave my cat there for an hour because I had to open my business at 8:00 AM and I didn't want to haul my very sick cat in and out on a freezing day. I told her that I would return by 8:30 when the Dr got in.. Skeeter was in his own carry cage, so I failed to see why they told me "No". I would have paid in advance if that's what they were worried about. I did say that I'd have to kill Skeeter myself if they couldn't do it, hoping it would inspire her to help, but she was as cold as ice. So I left not believing that a veterinary would refuse to take a very sick cat in unless I agreed in advance to pay hundreds of extra dollars for cremation, that's tantamount to emotional blackmail at a very vulnerable time. It was a terrible thing, but I couldn't continue to watch Skeeter suffer, so was forced to end my pets life myself 15 minutes after I left your clinic. I know that matters little to you people, but I'll never forgive the rude and compassionless receptionist for putting me in that predicament. ___________________ ________________ ________________ ______________ Took my sick cat in on 12/22/21 around 4:00 PM. It only took about 15 minutes to see a doctor. I got a diagnosis and shot of antibiotics for my cat Skeeter and was done and gone in about 25 minutes, all for a reasonable charge of $98. Very satisfied with my visit, the staff, and Dr Milas.. I originally posted a 5 star review above. But my 2nd visit was HORRIBLE, so I changed the review to one star. My cat got worse (liver failure), and I went back on January 3,2022.They open at 6:30 AM, so I went to have my poor suffering cat euthanized right when they opened. The girl told me that the veterinarian wouldn't be in until later. I asked if I could leave my cat there and if they would call me when the vet came in and could put him to sleep. She said "NO".. I desperately said that if you can't do it, I'll have to do it myself. She said, "Don't talk like that". These people could care less that my little guy was suffering, very uncaring, totally the opposite from my first visit. It's very hard to have your pet put down, so getting a lecture and being told to come back at their convenience was rude and inhumane to my cat. They left me with a horrible alternative, no compassion and no empathy. Just a "so what" attitude, take your cat and take a hike because we could care less that he's in agony. Extremely disappointed, at a distressful time, these are the last people you want to deal with. . 1/6/22 Your last reply was just another excuse, vet clinics are suppose to admit animals in distress, and most veterinary clinics actually have a veterinarian in house, they aren't much use without one. I heard dogs barking in the back room, so its a bunch of malarkey to suggest animals can't be there without a doctor on duty. Suffice to say, after taking my dying cat in and not so politely being told to take my cat and leave, you don't need to worry about me ever returning. read more

there was a lot of miscommunication on staff at Moline city line I Was told to come in and wait would be 30 mins. Called at 3 pm told to come in. Asked if when I got home I needed to call before coming told no. tjat was 40 mins before I got there. got there told can't be seen Dr had emergency. The problem was emergency happened earlier in day and was not told this at any time. Came next day repeated event the person I talked with was rude and unwilling to listen just threatened me with you Can set down or leave. If this is your office manager she coul of been professional and said I am sorry and will work with staff to ensure this does nit happen again. I could if accepted this but you do not tell the customer this way or the highway. I assume it was the office manager. she did not identify herself or even take me to a private place to discuss. read more

I had to put my sweet baby to rest today after 9 years she got kidney failure not sure what from . Had been so sick all night and just miserable I called city line and they said they would have a room ready when we got there. It took us a bit to get there and they did not have a room because unfortunately 3 other people also had to say good bye to their loved animals today as well :( . We waited in the lobby they were all so kind then we got a room a bit later . I believe it was doctor Abigail I was a mess and don't honestly remember. They let me sit with my dog and she put her head on my lap for her last breath , was so kind caring and compassionate to let me know I was doing the right thing for my zoey . I definitely felt like I brought her to the right place . read more

I love taking my Maxie there, for it's a 5 star hotel stay! They take very good care of him when I can't. And they go the extra mile on service. One day we had to go out of town and didn't make arrangements for Maxies stay. And it was after hours and an employee was leaving got home, but she took Maxie anyway and I called the next day to set everything up! All the employees there are great! And did I mention their hours? Check them out on their website and you will be happy! read more

Brought our dog in after she got hit by a car. Got her right back into a room. Dr. Amador came in and got to work assessing her and making a plan of action. The techs and Dr. Amador kept us updated every step of the way. The doctor did a fantastic job putting a plan of care together and sent us home with meds and post visit instructions. I am thankful for their excellent professional care of my sweet girl. read more

They saved my dogs life! Walk in n at 6 pm and dr Mila did surgery at 830 pm, very empathetic and concern for my dog! I had just had my dog at another vet all Day and she was sent home so Ill, I so appreciated their care for especially since they had never met me! read more

Well, yesterday was the day we all dread as pet owners. After 16+ years we had to let our dog go. I can't recommend Dr Milas and all the folks at City Line for their compassion and professionalism at every step. If you're looking for a veterinarian, more importantly, if you're looking for a staff and doctors who value your pet as much as you do, look no further. They made a very tough choice, manageable. I boarded my two dogs there, brother and sister, I reserved far in advance to make sure they could share a run, I was told no problem. I took them to their vet and got updated records to provide to city line BEFORE they were boarded to reduce the poking and prodding. On the day we dropped them off we asked to see the place and they gave us a tour no problem which was nice! I was disappointed with the play area, an inclosed garage and the man working was just sitting in the chair, not the most important but I was expecting a little more for paying extra for play time. When they took us to their run, they had their name on different runs regardless of the fact they had told me yes three times they would be in same run. They told us they switched some things around and were able to eventually get them in the same run but had we not asked for a tour and seen this, they would have been separated the entire time we were gone. Then shortly after we left we got a phone call saying our boy wasn't accepting the heartworm testing! This was frustrating to me because they had already gotten this from their vet and I delivered their updated paper work a week before dropping them off. So our girl got a second round of heart worm testing and they tried but were unable with the boy. When I talked to the lady she said these records had not been communicated to her despite all my efforts. I understand places are short staffed and they were boarded during a busy time, Christmas break, but unfortunately we can no longer trust City Line. read more

We adopted a rescue puppy, a lab/pit mix named Lucky, and three days later, he had a fever, was very lethargic and had the runs. We took him to City Line because it was a Saturday and they accepted walk-ins. The very kind veterinarian gave Lucky fluids and antibiotics, and tested him for parvo, which was negative. A few hours later, after napping a bit, he was his old puppy self again and he has been fine since. My wife and I are really glad City Line is here. Nice job! read more
