The remote fob for my vehicle was going crazy; randomly locking and unlocking doors. A Goo*le search listed three Automotive Locksmiths near me. Based on the reviews, I phoned City Locksmith. I got an appointment early that after noon and drove there, Mound and 15 Mile area. The locksmith used a receiving device and determined that the remote fob was the problem. I requested two new remote fobs. Within 20 minutes, two remote fobs and their keys were finished. The locksmith was polite, knowledgeable, and very skilled. The price was very reasonable. Honest service. I knew the mortice lock just needed some minor adjustment but other companies tried to tell me it needed a part replaced based off a picture they had me send. Nonsense. City Locksmith (Simon/Sinan?) took care of the minor problem within minutes. (I think the cost was a little high considering it literally took just a few minutes, but at least he didn't try to tell me a needed a new lock, and the price was fair compared to others providing similar services) I would recommend! read more

Horrible locksmith... They should call themselves a locksmith they are scam artists!! The tell one price its double, give you discounts for a good review. Try to take key fob that you buy bring to them to program tell you they cant program them. So they can charge you double then they try to keep the fob they apparently couldn't use. Find a honest company. My 135.00 fob lasted not even 5 months, and he told me look lady only a 72 hour warranty. read more

Tonight I did what I never thought would happen to me. I locked my keys in my car. I called around and everyone said an hour+ I called they said 15 minutes. I called one place back to tell them never mind and I accidentally called city locksmith. I called him after waiting around and he felt so bad because I had cancelled the service. He had gone all the way home and still made it out to me in less than a half hour and seriously were the nicest guys I've ever dealt with. City Locksmith is nothing less than amazing! I called around to 3 different locksmiths all telling me they didn't have the technology for my key. Then I called here and spoke to "Anthony the locksmith" and he was out to me in 25 minutes and I had my key programmed right away! Such nice prompt service is hard to find these days! I locked my keys in the house. He told me $29. After telling me it would be $119.00 if he replaced the lock. After popping the door open in minutes he had me sign and initial receipt. Then went to his van and charged my card $ 148.00 and handed me a folded receipt. I know I should have checked receipt before he left but I didn't. It was early morning and I had my dog and I was in pjs. Absolute scam. Be careful if you use them. Or find legitimate company. I feel he totally took advantage of the situation. Told me a half hour, 2 hrs later made me a key in minutes after he told me i "MIGHT" need 2 keys cut(which is a lie) then told me i can't open doors or trunk with key so i had to buy a keypad for an extra hundo... so 280 later! This guy came out because my deadbolt wouldn't open. He told me a price over the phone to come out - that was $29. He took, by his own admission, about a second to take my lock out and open the door (prices on his website show $45-65) for this service. He then told me my lock was not repairable and that he had a lock that would work. He wrote up a quote for the $29 plus $148 for the lockset. I thought this was high but I was stuck. So I signed the quote and then he cane back a few minutes later with a lock that he said was a bit more expensive- $240 more than what he'd already quoted. The only other option he had was a single deadbolt but this was on a door with a window right next to the lock (smash window turn deadbolt - not too safe). So I agreed and for $40 more he would rekey to match my other locks. While he stared rekeying I looked up the brand of lock - my "expensive " lock was $50. I'm all for people making a reasonable profit but this was $190 over what I could buy it for and he probably gets a better price. So I tell him to stop and tried to negotiate but I had no leverage. So I told him I would pay him the $29 plus some extra for his time. He said I had to pay the $29 plus the $148 for the LOCKOUT- he scribbled enough that what I read as lockset he said was lockout. Then he held my key hostage. So I paid $178 for his service charge plus about a minute to do the lockout service. Terrible place - if I could give them a negative rating I would read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER IN LIFE EXPERIENCED. I never ever take time to write a review but WOW. They are so unorganized, told us that "I'm on the way right now" - for over 24 hours! Either i got a Voicemail or a lie. So we just needed a new key fob since my Husband lost his so he wasn't able to drive, they quoted me at 2pm Friday and said a technician is finishing up a job then will be on the way. Calls then started going right to voicemail (6pm when they said no later than an hour at 3pm)...Finally got a hold of them at 8:37pm and the first thing he said was "Oh i was just going to call you. I give you discount and will be there for sure between 8-9am tomorrow." Well, fast forward to 10:15am my Husband calls to make sure they will be there by 11:30am because he has to leave for work at Noon and they say 100% they will. It's now 12:30pm and they wouldn't answer... so he is forced to take my Jeep into work, leaving me and my kids stuck at the house with no car all day/night. I look at my phone at 2:48pm and OMG THEY'RE ACTUALLY CALLING ME! So i answer right away and the call 'drops'. He then text me asking for the VIN number - I sent him a picture and he responds at 3:30pm saying "Dealership only. Sorry for the Inconvenience. I'm sorry, WHAT?!
