Luckily the GM of the U-Haul facility put us in touch with John Caldwell of J.C. Moving Company. Even though John and his crew were at another job site, they agreed to come help us unload our truck after their job was completed...on a Sunday! A few hours later, John and his crew called us 30 minutes before they arrived to confirm and helped us unload all of our things. He and his crew were very kind, friendly and took good care of our things while unloading. I am a senior citizen, and I was very specific about the fact that I was recovering from a recent surgery and was not able to lift med/large heavy boxes placed (stacked) on top of one another once transported to my new residence. I also spoke at length with Jim's brother, Stewart, regarding packing materials snd number of boxes needed to pack remaining belongings in my home. I was also told that there were specific packing materials that would be sent to carefully wrap expensive large rugs that needed to be sent out to be professionally cleaned once the move took place. Four young, courteous men arrived on rime for moving day, but unfortunately, underestimated the time/men needed to completely move me from my home to my new residence, so plans were made to continue the move to the following day. Movers overall, were careful with my furniture and belongings, but are not properly trained to consider properly labelling boxes, so that when a bed is dismantled, for example, and put back together again, the bed can be quickly remade! Zero considerations for personal care products, clothing, personal computer, medications (used everyday) to be set aside so they can be found easily once moved. I am still looking for my houseplants that are sitting out in my garage, despite cold weather, because the boxes they were packed in are poorly marked. The plants should have been brought into the house, not left in the garage! The carpets that Stewart stated would be carefully attended to and wrapped securely never happened, after spending over $3,000 for a local move twenty minutes away. Disappointed at best.

Road pavers decided to notify me the day before that they'd be paving the NEXT DAY (the same day as my move). Mind over Matter understood the situation, agreed to still move us, and did not complain once. They arrived exactly on time (sent me a text when they were 15 min out) and hauled all my junk a block down the street in 100-degree heat index next to fresh, scalding hot asphalt. They disassembled and reassembled our recliners so they wouldn't be damaged during the drive and wrapped other furniture items.

Cornelius didn't care to see the scope of the work and only replied with " I've got a 20ft truck. I don't need to see it. We're professionals." When moving day came with the only advanced notification of arrival being " I'm down the street" Cornelius then went on to tell my father he couldn't move him because there was "too much stuff ." Now, had he come to see the pace prior as my father offered or even asked for pictures/video maybe this could have been remedied, but Cornelius ego, hubris and extreme lack of professionalism and experience dictated otherwise. He left my 76 year old father in need high and dry and refused to return his deposit. My father tried to provide all of the information necessary to help Cornelius' and he was blatantly negligent. DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT PATRONIZE CORNELIUS OR HIS COMPANY. He is a scammer, a thief and an abhorrent businessman if he is to be even considered a "businessman." Negative 10 star rating.
