It was served with flatbread for dipping, and the lemon butter sauce was absolutely delicious. I followed our server's recommendation and ordered the Chicken Napoletana for my entrée. In all seriousness, it was one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had. The balance of flavors, the sauce, and the overall execution were perfect. I would absolutely come back just to order this dish again. We also had the pizza and spaghetti with meatballs, and both were delicious. The bread deserves a special mention as well- 10/10. I found this restaurant while visiting San Antonio and wanted to avoid dining near the River Walk, so I followed an article that listed it as the best authentic Italian restaurant in the city. After eating here, I completely agree with that assessment. Overall, this was an outstanding meal and a place I would gladly recommend to anyone looking for excellent Italian food in San Antonio.

Food was ok ... my pizza was more soft than im use to... a little on the sweeter side as well ... over all it was descent. The bread was less to be desired. Then 35 days before our planned trip I received a notice that the prepaid event had been cancelled. They offered to reschedule out 30 days further or refund. Four very disappointed women but grateful they didn't cancel the day before the event. Luckily there is a lot to do in San Antonio but its hard to find one common interest between 4 women other than food! Three like to drink, one doesn't. Two like history, two don't. You get to visit 5 different stops (mine was only four since it was the starting phase). I went on a Sunday tour, the tour differs between the two based on the dessert place (La Boulangerie on Saturday, Paleteria on Sunday). The tour was great, we start at Ocho, you get a taste of one of the popular dishes and history on SA, then start on foot towards Luke, receiving information about the city on the way. I enjoyed a great little dish and drink at Luke, then headed on to Nectar, and got a HUGE sampling of the meats and cheeses that they offer, from there we head to Zinc. At Zinc I tried one of the best guacs in town, and saw some of my fellow tour-ers the purchase a Prickly Pear Margarita, which was really really pretty. (Typically you visit a desert place last, but because i went on the tour before the Paleteria was confirmed, we skipped this stop.) The SA Food Tours staff is friendly and knowledgeable, they've put a lot of time and hard work into the tour, and its a great way to experience San Antonio's food scene and get some history at the same time. I've lived here all my life and learned and tried new things on the tour, it's worth it!

The Carry Out Counter Person was gracious & accommodating when I called to add extra sauce since there wasn't a field for notes upon checkout on the website. Upon p/u he showed the extra sauces, bread w/butter & Parm cheese in a bag too!! He even said "Happy Mother's Day" after! I could smell the food all the way home!! Portion sizes were perfect, chicken breasts were thick and very tender & this was a great deal for the Double-Portion Chicken Piccata Carry-Out!! The capers were large, plentiful & the sauce was lemony/buttery & I think there were fresh basil leaves that were already drenched in the sauce when I opened it up at home. Spaghetti Noodles were my choice of noodles but they also had Rigatoni with Marinara Sauce as an option. It was so tasty on its own that it didn't need any Parm cheese. I will def be back & tell all my friends!!! Price for 1 To-Go Chicken Piccata Entrée is $26. The Double Portion Chicken Piccata order(2-entrées) is $36 or just $10 extra!! That's $18/entrée!! What a deal!! (*_*)

I read one review complaining about the size of the lasagna portion, but it was actually rather big. We will be back!

I rarely leave restaurant reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I felt compelled to share it. First, my waiter was great. He was attentive, professional, and had nothing to do with the issue. I ordered the Braised Short Rib Lumache and was genuinely excited based on the description and presentation shown online. What arrived was a beautiful plate of pasta, but there was one major problem: there was barely any short rib. The dish was overwhelmingly pasta with very little of the featured ingredient that justified the price. The photos and marketing for this dish create the expectation of a hearty braised short rib pasta. What I received looked nothing like what was advertised. It felt misleading and left me wondering where the short rib actually was. The pasta itself was fine, but when you order a braised short rib dish, you expect to get braised short rib--not just pasta with a trace of it. North Italia has a great atmosphere and excellent service, but this dish was a major letdown. Hopefully management takes a closer look at consistency because the gap between expectation and reality was hard to ignore.
