Host is pleasant, we came Sunday night and was told the wait time is 1 hour. Host said come on Tuesday or Wednesday it's more quiet. We did come on Wednesday and was able to get seated right away. My wife and I stepped out for a dinner date as usual. I saw this place and great ratings so I decided to try it out. Upon arrival I realized I worked right behind this place for 1 year and never knew about it. When we walked in they were very busy. This was a great sign for me to know others like the food. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table as they do not take reservations and it was full. They do not have anywhere to wait inside. You have to sit in chairs outside the door or in your car. They will call you when ready. We where called about 15 minutes into out wait and sat. The waitress came over and greeted us with waters and we purchased a bottle of wine (they did not have a bottle that they have in their online menu but we were able to find a back up). We ordered food and where brought bread with oil and herbs. My wife ordered the lamb chops that came with mashed potatoes and cream spinach. I ordered the lasagna . The Lamb chops were cooked medium as ordered but they lacked flavor as well as the potatoes . She had to add salt and pepper to the dish . I know I have a new favorite restaurant in town when I stop in not once, not twice, but THREE times in a single month. That was during the month of February after watching an Instagram reel a user posted of the cheesy deliciousness that is the Pollo Bronx Parmigiana entree. I absolutely HAD to try it after seeing the long trail of melted cheese that gets drizzled over the dish. I love everything about this unassuming spot located in a strip mall off Babcock Rd. From its cozy interior and expertly decorated space to the absolutely delicious food and to the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. I can't speak highly enough of Mare e Monte. The food obviously is the true showstopper here and what brought me back so many times after raving about it to multiple friend groups. Hands down my favorite (and again what first brought me in) is the Pollo Bronx Parmigiana dish. All of the flavors of this dish combine together to create something truly incredible for the taste buds and it's definitely a cheese lover's paradise the spicy red pepper jam that they use on the dish really puts the dish over. the edge and gives it a nice pop. The freshly baked (and complimentary) sourdough bread service is also amazing. Make sure you don't let it go to waste like you might at other spots. If the Pollo Bronx Parmigiana perhaps isn't your style, the Pollo e Monte entree is another delicious option. Again another dish that's full of flavor and the duck fat potatoes were soooo good. We've been remodeling a home here and have been to tired to dress up so instead we've order carry out. Saturday night was our first time we ordered the Bronx Chicken Parmesan which comes with a phenomenal pasta and broccoli. My husband and I shared it with a Caesar salad. We craved the pasta and today ordered the lasagna and the seafood ravioli. Both winners again but we agreed the lasagna with the beautiful homemade pasta and béchamel was a tad better than the ravioli. We couldn't decide on one of the dishes, so our waiter brought out a sample of the sauce for us to try. He also brought us fresh bread halfway through our meal. My friend got the Sole Oregenata with spinach and asparagus risotto. I tried the Spicy Rigatoni and added a meatball. This dish comes with crumbled veal on top, but it was no problem to leave the veal off. Both dishes were so delicious! The tshirts some of the staff wore said "welcome home". You had me after that first bite, or at least that is what I told the friendly manager when asked how our meal was coming along. Since the meat on a lamb chop is so thin, it takes a skilled chef to prepare it medium rare properly and to not overwhelm the flavor with seasoning. Lasagna was good, it's more of a sweet red tomato sauce (not my personal preference, i like more acidic sauce) but still very good. We asked for extra sauce for the lasagna initially because the menu said "add extra sauce for $4" and our waitress said no, so we were confused. Had great hope for this restaurant, but was very disappointed. Food barely warm, however the crème brûlée was outstanding.

Seems this joint has been on wife and my radar for a bit, so that translated into our dinner date location last night. First, this place is not fit for a strip center; it could definitely be its own stand alone location. I think that would help with the total parking cluster ****. In any event, we were surprised when met with a wait...on a Wednesday at 6:45. My wife was a tad irked when a twosome was seated before we were ...even though we checked in first. That sat us shortly thereafter... I mean, not cool, but ::insert shoulder shrug emoji:: Here's my breakdown: Food: 4+, not quite 5 stars. Our meatball appetizer was a tad bland, and I disagree with them serving only 3 meatballs in the appetizer and charging $4 for additional. I think four to start just makes sense. Highly recommend BOTH the ravioli Pollo Bronx Parmigiana. Fantastic! Ravioli could have been warmer. Atmosphere: 3 stars max. The place is super loud. And the way people bottleneck at the front...leads to people hovering very near, practically over occupied tables. I know because we sat near said bottleneck. I think they try and accommodate too many people/tables. Service was efficient and friendly, I think. Again, couldn't hear much. Food came out fast, which was good because we were famished.
