Heirloom Tomato & Burrata with bread on the side
    Imtiaz K.

The ambiance was nice & the staff were friendly. I would recommend outdoor seating if it's a nice night/day they have it set up well. I really enjoyed the just peachy drink. The Cesar salad, the grilled artichoke, and the heirloom tomatoes burrata. They were nice enough to bring me gluten free pita on the side so I could enjoy the dish and put the bread on the side for the heirloom tomatoes burrata. The one dish I really didn't enjoy was the pasta... they really overcooked the gluten free pasta to the point it was falling apart. I had the ricotta cavatelli the shrimp was good but the lump crab ehh... I kept biting into pieces of crab shells. It was not worth the price at all kind of a let down. Would go again for the appetizers & maybe a gluten free pizza. But the gluten free pasta that was rough.

If you are coming during the weekend, I highly recommend a reservation. This a unique Italian spot with rich flavors but I think it is a little on the pricier end for a casual vibe. It was pretty laid back but louder due to the restaurant being full and busy. Despite this, the service was good and they were welcoming from the beginning to the time we left. Below are my ratings on what we ordered: trottole pesto 5/5 braised short rib marsala 4/5 (I wanted more protein) bread 5/5 calamari 5/5 Give yourself enough time to find parking because this is a busy area in La Cantera but at least it is free parking :)

This North Italia is located in the Rim- a hot spot for socializing and multiple restaurants. I placed a reservation but we were able to grab seats at the bar. Service was quick and efficient. I ordered the house special Bolognese which was so good, hot and fresh. You can tell the pastas are made in house and they are so yummy. We ordered the white truffle bread to start and it was flavorful and crispy. To end I ordered an espresso martini which was well balanced and maybe one of my favorites I've had. North Italia is a staple place of mine and always feel so comforting.

We had been looking forward to coming here. Good drinks to start! Appetizers were good and our meals were quite good. I had the Branzino which was delish. Good salads, too. Maybe a. It in the pricey side, but worth it. Want to come back here for pizza and dessert next time. I will also say, do not come here if you are in a hurry. Very relaxed atmosphere... plenty of time given to peruse the menu and a while in between courses. We were not in a hurry but if I was I might have been frustrated.

A charming Italian gem that never disappoints. The cuisine is consistently exceptional, complemented by a thoughtfully curated selection of drinks. Service is impeccable every time I visit--attentive, polished, and genuinely welcoming. Whether seated at the bar or at a table, the experience is seamless from start to finish. I've returned several times and each visit has been nothing short of wonderful. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an elevated yet inviting dining experience.

This place is just so good. Food, cocktail, and wine menu are consistently good. I know I'm going to have a fantastic meal, excellent service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Don't pass up on their appetizers or salads. They're just as good as the main entrees. Better in my opinion! Their Prosciutto Bruschetta is the THANG on this menu. I want this every day

Did not do a reservation. My wife and I sat at the bar. Bartender Christian was wonderful. Explained the menu and bar items. He suggested the calamari and zucca chips, and they were amazing.he also asked if I would like to try the braised rib with my pasta, and it elevated the plate even more. The Ambiance great, nice mellow contemporary music warm atmosphere. The last thing we had was the seasonal butter cake for dessert.

Went to North Italia for restaurant week & had such a great evening. Our waiter was amazing & extremely attentive & was so quick! I always love the atmosphere in this restaurant when I visit as well, from the bar the patio etc. Additionally their menu (this visit the restaurant week one) was so ideal, the main plates we had were so good as was the apps and desserts!

North Italia is always a win, and the location in The Domain makes it even better. We stopped in and had an incredible lunch, everything we ordered was spot on. The Caesar salad was honestly one of the best I've had--super fresh with just the right amount of dressing and crunch. We also tried the spaghetti and meatballs (comfort food done right) and the smoked salmon avocado toast appetizer, which was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and you really can't beat the ambiance, perfect spot whether you're out for a casual lunch or dinner with friends. Definitely a go-to if you're in The Domain area and craving something consistently great.

We went here for lunch and the food was amazing. The service was great and the music was chill. I always like coming to North. They always have delicious food. The kids loved their pizza. If you haven't tried this place, plse swing by and try it. The reason for 4 stars, the plates we got for the garlic bread was dirty and my water cup was as well. I would expect the sever would look at the plates and cups before giving it to the customers. Other than that, I will still go back.

This was my second time here. This time, I came for weekday restaurant week lunch. Loved having a three course lunch for only $30. I started with the meatballs appetizer which was very hearty and savory. The meatballs were placed on a creamy polenta which was divine. For my entree, I ordered the heirloom beet and chicken salad. I was hesitant to order it because I do not like beets but it was so delicious. The beets didn't have too much of that "earthy" flavor. The salad was so beautiful and filling, I could only eat half. I finished with the guava sorbet which was very refreshing and not too sweet. The facility was very clean and spacious. My waiter, Alonzo was incredibly sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. Definitely a go to for restaurant week, especially if you want to try something both healthy and delicious. Only thing I would skip is the just peachy beverage. $10 is steep for a nonalcoholic beverage and it was too sweet for my taste.

First for the atmosphere, it's a really nice environment during the day and most weeknights but weekends it's very loud and lively. Which is fine, but it is advertised as a speakeasy, but I would say its more of a loud bar vibe on weekend evenings. For service, it's generally pretty fast! You can order either at the bar or they can come to you. We usually prefer grabbing a seat if we can and order through a server. Definitely reccomend that but you might have to come a bit earlier if it's a weekend evenings. Servers are usually nice and helpful. In terms of the drinks they are great but I'll say you have to be very specific of what you like. I'm pretty straight forward so usually get a Moscow mule, mojito, or their kiwi express! All are awesome! However, I did ask if they could do a porn star martini. Passion fruit, liqueur, not too hard I thought... but they couldn't make it. I asked if they could just make me something w passion fruit instead and was told I could not. Very odd and usually they will make me a drink if I ask for it. Overall I think this is a fun place to go for a weeknight drink w friends or a bigger crowd for a livelier atmosphere for the weekend. I wouldn't deviate from the menu- they have plenty of options. You'll see us again! Thanks rock and rye!

We did not have reservations and went knowing this. The hostess said it was a like 45 minutes to an hour wait. With being mothers day and all, we expected it. However they had a spritzer cart outside for the waiting patrons! Fantastic idea! It was warm but not too terribly hot when we arrived so we opted to brief look at their desserts and then went outside to a couple of tables. We then went to the spritzer cart and ordered a few drinks and it hi perfectly with the sunny weather. And after finishing the drink our table was pretty much ready. It was not even 30 minutes in waiting. Probably 20 minutes. We were sat at two round tables near the bar which was ok, but our daughter has a boot on for her foot but she managed ok. We weren't expecting that but it was ok. They didn't know. We were greeted by our server and promptly got our drink orders and all our food order. What we did was view the menu beforehand. We ordered three appetizers. The meatball ferris wheel, the grilled octopus, and Nonna's garlic bread. The drinks were all delish! The first app that came out was the garlic bread. I have to say is the absolute star of the food here. If you are here, please order it. It's the thing to have. And the butter that comes with it just elevated it to another level. It's that good. Actually better than the entrees in my opinion. The next was the meatball ferris wheel. This showcase the flavors of the entrees for me. It was indeed fun to see. Each meatball was really good and they didn't skimp on the meatballs here. It was very good and the temperature was perfect. The last was the grilled octopus. It was super tender and the sauce was good but we learned they used spicy peppers a lot in their dishes to bring out the flavors. This was the beginning and it was a solid level 1 of 5 of spice level. If you are not into spicy dishes they foreshadows a majority of the entrees here. The grilled octopus was great. And the potatoes go with it perfectly. For our meals, I got the spaghetti and red clam sauce which is spicy. My wife ordered the risotto pescatore, which is a seafood dish, and my daughter got the pork chop my way and she had it Parmesan style. The risotto pescatore came out first and it is supposedly spicy but because none of my family does spicy like me, the sis not as the peppers in the dish. And because of that, the dish tasted kind of bland and only tasted the seafood mixed together. Not bad but was unsatisfying unfortunately. So it's not the fault of the kitchen or chef. It's not made as listed so it will not really taste how it's supposed to m the server and manager pretty much came by and address the issue even though it's no fault of their own. They did offer her a side spaghetti l, which is more than enough at this point, because of all the appetizers we has filled up on. My spaghetti and red clam sauce was actually really good. I could taste the pasta being made in house. The clams with the spicy sauce was great and satisfying. The pork chop. It was just big. I mean hanging over the plate large. Our server and another server said it is big but that was the biggest pork chop they've ever seen come out of the kitchen. It was hilarious. But it tasted so good. Think chicken fried steak but pork chop. And it was delicious as well. Just too much for one person. Especially after all the appetizers! Dessert was the special they had for mother's day weekend. It was a raspberry tiramisu and it was so creamy and smooth. It was one of the better desserts I've had in a while. I also had a cappuccino and they was perfect as well. A great ending to to meal. We haven't eaten that much in a long time. The drinks and appetizers are spectacular. The entrees are good but not the stars of the show for us. But we enjoyed the food journey here!

One of the standout moments was the appetizers, especially the meatballs Ferris wheel -- a unique presentation that immediately sets the tone for the meal. It's playful, shareable, and surprisingly well-executed. The fresh pasta is another highlight. You can taste the quality in every bite, and the build-your-own pasta option is a great twist that lets you customize your dish without losing that traditional Italian foundation. It feels both familiar and inventive at the same time. Overall, this is a strong new addition to the San Antonio Italian scene. Great for groups, date nights, or anyone looking for something a little different while still getting solid, comforting Italian food done right.

We walked in without a reservation, and I really appreciate that they were able to accommodate us with outdoor seating. The patio had a fun, upbeat atmosphere and was a great place to spend the evening. The drinks were generally very well made, once they were prepared correctly. The food, however, was just okay. I had the cheeseburger with an egg, and while it was decent, it wasn't particularly memorable. The standout was definitely the fries, especially paired with the spicy ketchup. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the service. Since we were seated outside, it felt like our table was forgotten. We sat for at least 15 minutes without proper plates, napkins, or silverware and had to ask multiple times before everyone was taken care of. We never had enough water glasses for the entire table, drink service was slow throughout the meal, and at one point I walked to the bar myself because my Old Fashioned had been made with agave and was far too sweet. I also had to track down our server just to get the check. Overall, I appreciate that they accommodated a large walk-in party, and the atmosphere and drinks were enjoyable. However, the combination of mediocre food and inattentive service left us disappointed. I don't think I'd return, as it felt like our table was simply forgotten once we were seated outside.

During happy hour there are select cocktail and bites you can enjoy for $7 each. My drink of choice for the evening was the perfectly balanced Berry Smash . I was torn on bites but ended up going with the Happy Hour sliders and the pork belly appetizer from the regular menu. Both were soooo good...particularly the Pork Belly which was a perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and savory. This visit redeemed Haywire in my eyes and I'm looking forward to returning during regular hours to explore more of the menu during dinner service.

Valet is complimentary when dining at the restaurant. That is particularly helpful in this cold weather. When we entered the restaurant the dining area was empty. There were a few patrons at the bar but no one at any dining tables. Maybe a sign?? The reviews on Google and Yelp are all over the place. The decor is nice but the seating is a little outdated and worn. I can understand this, though, because I am sure they get a lot of family traffic being a hotel so close to Six Flags. Our waiter, Robert, came right over to take our order. He was friendly and personable. The Restaurant Week menu had two choices for each course, so my friend and I ordered everything so we could try it. First up, the appetizers were poblano and corn soup or heirloom tomato salad with blue cheese. The soup was delicious but was not very hot temperature-wise. The salad is a beautiful idea, but the tomatoes were just bad. They were out of season, mushy, and tasteless. I love tomatoes, so I was disappointed. Next up entrees. My friend had the braised short rib with beans and rice. I had the Redfish with rice and green beans. The short rib was excellent, but it came out at room temperature. Considering we were the only ones there that was a red flag. My fish was seasoned well, and I enjoyed it, but it was room temperature also. Is there a draft in the kitchen? Other reviews mentioned their food was not hot so it seems like a trend. For the amount you pay, the food should be piping hot when it comes to the table. Finally, we got to dessert. I had the creme Brulee cheesecake and my friend had the campfire dark chocolate torte. The desserts were delicious with no complaints at all.
