I rarely leave restaurant reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I felt compelled to share it. First, my waiter was great. He was attentive, professional, and had nothing to do with the issue. I ordered the Braised Short Rib Lumache and was genuinely excited based on the description and presentation shown online. What arrived was a beautiful plate of pasta, but there was one major problem: there was barely any short rib. The dish was overwhelmingly pasta with very little of the featured ingredient that justified the price. The photos and marketing for this dish create the expectation of a hearty braised short rib pasta. What I received looked nothing like what was advertised. It felt misleading and left me wondering where the short rib actually was. The pasta itself was fine, but when you order a braised short rib dish, you expect to get braised short rib--not just pasta with a trace of it. The Caesar salad was honestly one of the best I've had--super fresh with just the right amount of dressing and crunch. i've been going to north italia for years with my family and have always had a pleasant experience both dining in as well as taking home their family kits (the bolegnese is a favorite). tonight, my mom had ordered a family kit for us to have for dinner at home and what should have been an easy dinner turned into the biggest headache and virtually ruined the night. and honestly, that's not an exaggeration. the order was set to be picked up at 8:10 PM, but wasn't ready until 8:30 PM. totally okay, that's fine. things are busy. we make it back home and are unpacking the food. come to find out, the order is incomplete. we were given a pan of uncooked pasta and some salad with no dressing. and bread. mind you, i know the family kits are meant to be cooked at home .... but what am i supposed to do with uncooked pasta and no sauce? so then we had to drive all the way back to pick up the completed order and didn't make it back til 10:15 PM. then came the issue of there not being any instructions on how long to cook the pasta and at what temp, so we had to call the restaurant yet again. we followed the instructions given verbally over the phone, aaaand it's now 11:30 PM and the food is yet to be done. it was supposed to take 45 minutes tops to cook, and yet here we are. still waiting for the pasta to be fully cooked. best part? everyone who was supposed to have dinner tonight ended up going home because it's basically midnight and no one was in the mood to eat anymore. honestly, waste of $70 plus tip. super disappointed in north italia. read more

When we arrived, we were told that our party could not be seated until 5 people had arrived we gave the girl our name on the reservation told us we can wait at the bar till all party was here so we waited at the bar the reservation was at 6:30 about 6:50 we noticed our 4 friends were seated outside and it was only 4 of them after the girl told us she would not seat us till 5 people were present When I brought this issue to the manager's attention, he stated that it was a "human error." This was my second time here. This time, I came for weekday restaurant week lunch. Loved having a three course lunch for only $30. I started with the meatballs appetizer which was very hearty and savory. The meatballs were placed on a creamy polenta which was divine. For my entree, I ordered the heirloom beet and chicken salad. I was hesitant to order it because I do not like beets but it was so delicious. The beets didn't have too much of that "earthy" flavor. The salad was so beautiful and filling, I could only eat half. I finished with the guava sorbet which was very refreshing and not too sweet. North Italia 11-24-24 10/100 Today I tried something new that I really want to highlight. Mainly because I couldn't find a single photo or review about...drum roll LUMACHE ALLA NORCINA 23 fennel sausage, rapini, grana padano crema, herb breadcrumbs, black truffle. (Menu description and price) I ordered mine with Gluten Free pasta. This dish is very unique and has a very special flavor profile. Fennel sausage-which if you don't know fennel I would not recommend trying it until you know more about this aromatic root/onion like plant. Fennel is spicy and sweet at the same time with a hint of anise to it. I absolutely love fennel and drink it as a tea also, so I was excited. Rapini-this is another unique type of broccoli that is actually bitter. Reminds me of eating arugula. Most people don't like the taste. However, the CHEF knows what they are doing here and you just have to trust the art behind this combination of flavors. It is harmoniously paired with the spicy fennel Grana Padano- I had heard of this cheese from one of my favorite movies and was so excited to see it here. It is creamy and dreamy Black Truffle- there are no words required here. I can only say WOW! This is now my favorite pasta dish. The taste and smell of these ingredient pairings is artful and balanced. The breadcrumbs on top gave it a nice texture also. So...if you like fennel and have never tried grana padano cream sauce, give this a try. It's totally worth the adventure of trying a new dish. This is an updated review as I decided to give North Italia another try and as I say, second time is the charm. We went on a Saturday with some friends and we're seated quickly and had excellent service. Our waitress was attentive and very friendly and knowledgeable and helped us with some recommendations. The place has a very open warm feel to it and you really can't wait to sit down to eat and visit with your friends. We started with the bread service and that was very good and we also had meatballs which were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The sauce and meatballs were in was just enough and it was quite delicious. I kinda wish I didn't have to share. We also had the chicken Parm, sea scallops, and grilled chicken. This is a first time that I can say that all the dishes that we tried were Spot On! The grilled chicken was cooked to perfection. It was tender and moist, which is hard to do and with just the right amount of capers. The sea scallops were very good as well as the chicken Parm.
