I appreciate that the appointment for a cleaning was scheduled very quickly at this Hopewell location. On my second appointment, a professional, experienced, highly-qualified Lissa, gently and meticulously cleaned my teeth. An added bonus was the take-home bag filled with dental goodies. My exam was performed by a gentle dentist, Dr. Son. I look forward to my next appointment and highly recommend this amazing group of people.

I'd been having trouble with headaches and grinding my teeth. Dr. Sheppard gave me options and advice on how he could help with making me a custom night guard. Lamaas here I do…read morenot like dentist it is usual a horrible experience... But I enjoy this experience the Dennis was patient ( pun) he explained everything to me in a very down-to-earth light ( not big Dr little patient ) and the other workers inside the dentist office were extremely pleasant , very clean extremely professional when he extracted my tooth it took almost no time... I felt literally no pain (well in comparison to extractions of the past , and he talked me through what little pain I did feel) .. and I'm not used to that when I have a tooth removed it usually hurts a long time I still don't feel any pain today (one day later) a little soreness... I didn't bleed much.... some...but nothing like last two times I strongly strongly strongly recommend these people they were fantastic all of them and they work together Oh and the price was real good too I had two visits with my insurance it cost me a total of $93...

It was my second attempt to make my appointment because I was running 20 minutes late the first attempt and they couldn't accommodate so I understood. Today, though, it was so ridiculously unprofessional I thought I may be on a hidden camera show. So I got there at 4:17, two minutes late to my appointment. When I got to the door though it was locked. Confused, I then went to the doctor's office across thinking I got the wrong unit. But then I realized I was indeed at the right place the first time. The door was still locked. Waited a minute and I jiggled a little harder, hoping they may unlock for me if they were still there. Nothing. I then checked my calendar to see if I got the wrong date (I've done that before) but confirmed I had the right date & time. I was about to leave but just for a good measure, I called them. Lord & behold, they were still there. The receptionist opened the door for me but no apology whatsoever. I signed in and it was 4:22 at this point. The receptionist then implied that I was late "regardless of the door". When I told her what just transpired prior to she opening the door, she then proceeded to the doctor's office to see if I was telling the truth and SHE TOLD ME SO. I was appalled. A few more unpleasant "can you verify insurance" this & that later, she opens the reception window to tell me that they are running two people behind and the doctor is leaving at 5. When I told her that this is my second attempt at this appointment and my work schedule is very hectic I have a difficulty rescheduling again and I don't mind waiting. When I asked how long the wait could be and if she wants me to come back in an hour or so, she then told me that because everyone is sick and they're short staffed and there's only one hygienist she doesn't know how long I'd be waiting. She again told me that I was late and she went over to the office across to check if I was really in that office; that everyone including herself is sick and she should be going, etc...also that the "corporate" took another hygienist somewhere else and she can't do anything about it. When I asked what do you mean by "the doctor is leaving at"? I asked if he's leaving even if I'm still there?? She basically said yes, STILL trying to get rid of me. It was very clear that they did not want to see me. Possibly EVER. I just waited a few more minutes and the all of a sudden the hygienist called me to the back. I did not see two more patients coming out so I asked her so what is going on, is the doctor still leaving? It was close to5 by then. To that, she had no idea. When I turned to the receptionist it was evident it was all her "talk" to get rid of the last appointment of the day, I had enough. I just asked for my dental record. She happily put me back out on the waiting room. After few more disgusting minutes later, all I got was a copy of the lady x-ray. I asked for the record itself and they refused, saying the dentist can find out what work was done by looking at the x-ray. What are these people's problem??? Apparently "corporate" cuts people so even though they make appointments but they don't want to see patients. I have no idea where the doctor was all this time. It was like a zoo without a keeper. Everyone misbehaving without any consequence; no concern for their patients whatsoever. Geez. I have to look for a new dentist but I was told by my insurance that there are a ton in my area. People, there are better options. Seriously.

The dentists on staff are excellent especially with timid patients. I specifically like my dentist's assistant, Beth! She made my experience all the better. I was incredibly nervous and she kept me calm. I felt my old dentist was solely based on the dollar which made the quality of care poor. Commonwealth Family Dentistry makes patients a priority!

When the dentist allowed her to help put a cap on my uncovered tooth that had been just received a root canal, she already knew WITHOUT the cap the tooth was very sensitive to pain because the dentist already tested it after I came to the appointment just to see the sensitivity. When She proceeded to go into my mouth I'm wondering what she doing (he already tested it, and she knows it's painful . So, (without the cap to put on my tooth) she used the drill and said "I want you to see something " she took the drill and hit my naked tooth with that instrument the dentist did and then said "(you can get somebody else if you want)." She hit that uncovered tooth with the drill so fast I almost jumped out the seat it hurt so bad. I read in these reviews where the Doctor or hygienist used anesthetic on someone's gums while scaling back their teeth? I was not ever offered pain relief for scaling. I was told "all the patients took the pressure and pain!". They tried to do my scaling by digging with a sharp instrument in my gums until I screamed in pain. The hygienist thought it was a joke because I was so upset . They did not numb me nor warn me about the pain of having to go into my gums with a sharp instrument. I believe I was assaulted with dental instruments and then made a joke of . I am afraid to go back there after those experiences to tell them my dentures (they made) hurt so bad and look so bad I can't wear them almost not at all. Food gets stuck in the tooth that had the root canal because it's indented and not smooth. They kept trying to get $100.00 out of me at this dentist office. Kept saying you owe us $100.00 but never told me why. I never understood anyway because My dental care was totally insured . So, they finally backed off asking me. But, I believe I was being billed for something I didn't get. When they figured they couldn't just take my money without explanations they just said forget about it. When has a business ever said forget about $100.00?
