The sub level of post care from this dentist has left me in pain without any recourse. My procedure happened on October 30th and I was sent home with no post care instructions, just a remark by the assistant that I should be good to eat and feel all numbness go in 2-3 hours. I had to go back with days as the bite was painful even with drinking water. I am no dentist and can not self treat. I had to go back 2 second time with a week and the dentist waving his hands in the air simply said, he can't do anything!!! When I voice my frustration. He refused me any further treatment and said I could go see a different dentist. I followed a medical practitioner's advise to preventive care and am now left with pain and suffering, neither of which I had, had gone to his office for a free dental cleaning. Dr. Lenoir is a very professional and skilled dentist. Cannot recommend this office more highly. He explains everything in detail and goes out of his way to make sure you are well taken care of. Best dentist I have ever had. Today, he replaced a crown that had come off, and his work prompted me to write this review. He first had to reshape the tooth structure under the crown and prepare the tooth and then re-cement the crown. There was no discomfort and everything was fully explained. The crown feels great. Professional at first but then became very petty after I was unable to make it to one visit. They refused to see me for a bad infection that was spreading in my gums because I couldn't make it to one visit even though I gave them plenty of notice. They do alright work but the customer service reps are petty and unflexible. They definitely will get mad and remove you from their office out of spite if something comes up and you're unable to make a visit. read more

( those winning awards are displayed in the waiting area) It has been a long time since I have encountered with such practice where customers are well taken care of and the doctor and the team do pay attention of what they do! Everyone devoted into this lovely practice. Little story of my case, live in northern Virginia and found out Dr. Brown via my coworker, decided to give it a try and drove almost two hours to Richmond to have my my veneers done. After the first visit-initial consultation, I knew I am in a good hand who cares his patient. Dr. Brown not only gave me the options of veneers but also suggested using bonding(a much cheaper alternative). He also showed me the material and how my teeth will look like after getting all done. The office assistance Chelsea who is very friendly and most importantly very clear minded in her field of coordinating with patients need! I have to file with my insurance company and request several docs, Chelsea accommodated with my needs and arranged all in a timely manner! And the dental assistance Erica and Tracy(hope that is correct name)were both great and explained the procedure thoroughly to me during the whole process. Initially my experience with this office was great...In that, I completed a teeth whitening process; which yielded great results. As a result, I decided to have my daughter complete a teeth whitening process that also included a treatment to remove the marks from her braces. I scheduled her an appt and provided my as well her dental insurance carrier's information. My daughter completed her teeth whitening consult and was told she needed to get a cleaning and x-rays before the process could start. Hence, they scheduled her for the cleaning and once the cleaning was complete she was informed she needed some cavities filled...they scheduled that as well. On 1/6/2021 the appt to have her cavities filled was complete upon check out she was told her portion of the charges was $404.70. She thought that was a bit high based on what I told her to expect, therefore she called me. I explained they most likely estimated high and any overage would be applied as a credit and to go ahead and pay. On 1/28/2021 she arrived and had her teeth whitening service performed as a result I called up there prior to the completion of the service to pay her charges. I paid $1610, which was her total balance. Thus, she now has a "ZERO" balance. On 3/8/2021 I received a bill in the mail for $617.30 and wondered why as I paid everything due already. So I pull out my calculator and started running the numbers and was able to identify where the extra charges were originating from and immediately called the office because there should not be a balance owed. I spoke with Chelsea, she informed me their office is out of network which is why I have the extra charges. I paused and explained no one provided me with that information as I would not have had her cleaning and cavity work performed there if I was told you were out of network. Thus, no one is going to use an out of network doctor and pay more just because, that would be hideous. Most significantly, when she completed the service of having her cavities filled she was told she only owed $404.70 for her portion of the service. No one mentioned then that we were out of network. I questioned why we were not informed of their office being out of network, Chelsea communicated they would have told us this information during registration or during the appt. I responded no, no one told me nor my daughter the office is out of network. If we were told the office was out of network I would have immediately scheduled the needed services with an in network dentist and then returned for the teeth whitening process as this service is paid by cash. NO one is going to knowingly or willingly schedule dental services with an out of network dentist. No one communicated this vital information as it would have assisted me with making an informed decision. They were deceitful in their practices and concealed the information that should have been communicated to us; which would have allowed for an informed decision. Instead, they shielded the information which has resulted in us being responsible for $197 for a cleaning (which are free in network) and $1022 for 4 cavities 1/4 if in network). This is ridiculous, unethical as well as unprofessional and that's saying it lightly. They should be ashamed of themselves for practicing in such a manner. I spent much time there providing them with our dental insurance carrier information; i have called there numerous times and NO one ever felt the need to inform me or my daughter they were out of network. The ONLY reason I know now is because I called and questioned a bill. I asked Chelsea what can be done, because this is not okay, she said nothing. THIS IS THE EMERGENCY BRAODCAST SYSTEM THIS IS NOT A TEST THERE HAS BEEN AN IMPORTANT UPDATE: I received a welcoming call from Dr. Lenoir yesterday regarding the aforementioned situation. After we discussed the issue in great detail, he communicated he would meet with his office manage and get back with me tomorrow. As stated, I received a call from Dr. Lenoir's office manager today @ 1:04 pm apologizing for the confusion, miscommunication and mishandling of my concerns. As a result, they happily wrote off the $617.30. Thank you for your commitment to excellent patient services; hence your dedication to your patients does not go un-noticed. read more

Let me begin with, you couldn't ask for a better staff, techs and clean office. But, having done my homework, checking on the office, I found it very promising. My Christmas gift from sister M and brother-in-law G, was a new set of implants or dentures. I'd gone through chemo and radiation that just ruined my teeth. So the plans were made and off we went. First, I asked for porcelain dentures and was told...nobody makes those anymore? (So not true) I wasn't mad, just wanted to eat, ANYTHING! I needed many teeth pulled. Was sent to a doctor, recommended by Dr. Lenoir. They informed my ride, it'll be about 45-hour. She waited in the car and 20 mins. later...I'm done? I was fine until I realized later that because he rushed, grabbed, twisted and broke shards of teeth off, that just wouldn't stop pushing through my gums. It went on for weeks. That was hell but I've been through worse...after 3 three weeks, it abated, and I was dealing with it. Then began the fiasco. If I told you everything that happened in this review, it would take a year. This all took over a year and a half and I'm still not doing great. I have a promising dentist who needs me to wait a few months. See, the few bottom teeth he salvaged to act as anchors for my bottom partial were next. He apparently put a crown on a tooth that wasn't quite thoroughly cleaned. He then proceeded to drill a hole in it to grasp the metal hook. I woke up with an extremely swollen face. More about that in a minute. I now need a full root canal and it's $1380! I can't afford this. When I complained about the fit of upper denture; I was in the office constantly. At one point he got mad and told me my suggestions to redo mold weren't going to happen. And to "Go make your own denture!" I was shocked and so was the assistant. I figured he was having a bad day and let that go. Then on my 8th attempt at a fitting...I was informed that with the 'phantom pain' I was experiencing....WHAT?? Really?! It all went downhill from there. I'm being over sensitive I guess? Suddenly, I was shuffled off to have my root canal infection taken care of by a doctor of his recommendation (NOT A CHANCE)! I got a call that Dr. Lenoir was reimbursing my family partial payment (they have paid him $10k and he sent family $3k? Nothing was resolved and I still need a root canal due to unprepped tooth for crown!!!) I quickly got a letter that I was no longer his patient? My bottom partial he sent to lab for adjustment, I'd been waiting for, I'm informed it was being destroyed and I was left with a temp. upper denture from the start and a permanent upper denture that makes holes when I chew, no matter how I try to cushion it. I can't use either! So that was his way of saying, "Eh, I tried but you're a difficult patient" NEXT! Don't be the next, trust me. Or try another dentist in the group. An ego is a horrible thing and when his hands are in your mouth and in charge of what you can eat; that's bad. I've lost 14 lbs. Thanks for reading and hope it helps. read more

I can't tell you how happy I am that I went to see him, I've walk out of every appointment smiling. I love how the staff remembers you, even though they see you maybe once a year. This office is, by far, the nicest dentist's office I have every had the pleasure of visiting. I have been going to Dr. Brown for about 10 years now and I have sent many friends to him as well. His office is located on Patterson fairly close to the Village Shopping center and Three Chopt. The office underwent a full renovation a few years back so the waiting room is like an upscale West End living room and selection of magazines can keep even a dedicated magazine junkie occupied. I have never had to wait more then 5 minutes and always feel welcomed and remembered. Recently I needed a crown and went ahead and ponied up some cash for the replacement of three silver fillings from my childhood. This was money well-spent as I don't have to ever be reminded of my sugar fueled days as a marauding member of a tricycle gang anymore. My teeth are all white and the crown he installed was to perfection. Everything is perfect. They play great music in all the rooms and there is a flat panel TV mounted to the ceiling if you want to catch a show while waiting.....or getting worked on. They also show you the results of your Xray on the same TV which is great in helping you see what is needed. When going for a cleaning I have always felt like I was the only one in the office and that I was not being rushed or put on any kind of time frame. I was looking for a dentist in Richmond and found Drs Brown Reynolds Snow down the street from my house. The office is very simple and clean with black/white canvas portraits on ocean green walls in the waiting room. The staff was very friendly and my hygienist, Michelle, was great. She was very outgoing and gentle, yet efficient. She was able to remove some stains I had from drinking tea without poking my gums like some other hygienists I've had at other offices. Dr. Brown was also very friendly and had great chair-side manners. He is also a VT alum, so that's a plus in my books. The only reason for a loss of a star is because I originally requested an appointment online and never received a response so I had to call to make the appointment. When I called the first time, the person who scheduled cleanings was out for the day so I had to call back. I went to BR&S after consulting with other dentists and orthodontists about my misaligned teeth; others had left me feeling flat in giving me any sort of good feeling about what course of action to take. However, when I consulted with Dr. Brown, I got all the information, advice, and confidence I needed to pursue a course of action with him and BR&S. Dr. Brown and his staff were very helpful and through in answering all my questions. They explained every step of the process and the plan of action to address the issue. I got to see the progression of the work and they checked in constantly to make sure I was happy with the results and comfortable during the process. Everyone I encountered there was super-friendly. He and his staff seemed invested in me and my dental care and in making sure I got the best care and was happy with the finished product. From the first consultation through the finish product, Dr. Brown and his staff were professional, friendly, and knowledge. Dr. Brown has been doing cosmetic density for a long while and his knowledge and experience shows in his advice and work. The best test for me was the temporary work he did while I awaited my finish veneers. His temporary work looked as good as the finish product and I got nothing but compliments and praise for the changes in my smile. I've been seeing Dr. Brown for over 20 years and can tell you it is light years from my 'family dentist' I saw in NC before moving to Richmond. I have had a great deal of work done in the past 20 years and have always been impressed with the professionalism, the skill, and artistry of Dr. Brown and his staff. The great thing is that they not only provide good care, but they offer suggestions to enhance your smile! I had vertical 'cracks' and chips in my front teeth--something I inherited from my mom's side. Dr. Brown took great pains to maintain my smile and I finally asked about my options. He suggested veneers. What a difference! I've had them for over 15 years and they still look great and haven't had a minute's problem. The entire office is staffed with delightful, professional, caring and dedicated professionals, from the staff at the front desk, to the billing experts, to the dental assistants and dentists. I made a first appointment with Dr. Brown about nine months ago. His hygienist cleaned my teeth, and he came in to briefly check them. I did not feel like we connected. Things went from downhill from there. I had a second appointment last week. I made it at four o'clock because that is the latest he makes appointments. The hygienist was 20 min. late coming to get me. She worked thoroughly, but slowly. I learned the Dr. Brown was also running late with another appointment, so he sent his partner to see me. (Dr. Snow seemed like a nice man who knew what he was doing.). It appears that they overbook themselves. The office seems to have about a dozen exam rooms with patients in each one of them. Presumably, they operate this way in order to to maximize the dentists' income. Dr. Brown stuck his head in and asked the receptionist if he was needed. She replied no. He did not bother to say hello to me, much less apologize for completely missing our appointment. As I was leaving the office, the scheduler handed me an estimate for a crown and asked me to sign it. We had discussed my needing a crown at some point, but not imminently. I felt like I was being hustled a little. Their appointment reminder service sends numerous e-mails, text and telephone messages to the point of being really annoying. I suppose the purpose of this is largely to ensure that they do not miss/lose potential patient income. I specifically selected this practice in order to work with Dr. Brown because of when I read about him. I was offended by his poor patient care/service. I wish I could rate even lower!!! I went to this practice for a consultation in early June, 2017. I was unhappy with my smile & partial and wanted a 2nd opinion to find out my options to try and get a desired look that I was seeking. I met with Dr. Elizabeth Reynolds. She was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and gave me hope that maybe I could be more self confident when I smile. She took several pics of my mouth & smile and told me she would get with her "focus group" to review my case and call me back in to share her findings. It is now January 31, 2018 and to date I have never been called back in. I made two attempts last year around July & again in November expressing my disappointment in the way I was treated. The first time I spoke with someone who said she was out of the office at another location on Wednesdays and promised to have her assistant call me back. That never happened. I called again maybe sometime in NOVEMBER, spoke to the receptionist who reviewed my records and said the notes confirmed that Dr. Reynolds would meet with a "Focus Group" to review my case and call me back in with her findings. I would love to know why I've never been contacted. Even if she didn't think she could give me what I was looking for, doesn't that still warrant a call back as a courtesy? I have insurance & flexible spending. NO one deserves to be treated or disrespected the way I was...and yes they disrespected me by not following up. I can't imagine why this practice would get "5 star ratings"! As for me.....YOU GET WAY LESS THAN 1. This practice sucks and I will never call them again:(! read more

As a result of the retirement of my dentist, I saw Dr. Elizabeth Reynolds as a new patient on April 25, 2016. Her dental hygienist cleaned my teeth and took x-rays. Dr. Reynolds informed me that I had three cavities that needed work, one tooth that might require a root canal and I would need two crowns. I was astonished as I went to my previous dentist every six months for exams and cleanings and had an exam only six months earlier with no indication of problems. The total cost for this work would be approximately $3,078, and could be even higher if a root canal were required. She suggested that for an additional $800 I could have sedation dentistry and have it all done in one appointment. My bill for that days exam and cleaning was $343.00. I was encouraged to sign a contract that would require me to pay $449.00 on that day and would include a second cleaning in six months at a discount. I did this and put it on my credit card. But, thinking about the magnitude of these procedures, I went to three other dentists and had exams. I brought with me my panoramic x-ray from Dr. Reynolds and had bitewing x-rays performed by one of these dentist so I had a full set of x-rays for each doctor to review. Each dentist gave me a careful and detailed exam. All three came to the same conclusion, that I had one cavity and no need for any crowns or replacement of present crowns. I paid out an additional $240 for these three exams. I called Dr. Reynolds after getting these results and left messages and got no response. I can only conclude that Dr. Reynolds was out to gouge me both literally and financially. read more

This place is incredible. I've been going there for about 15 years and have really been amazed at the professionalism. For cleanings, I've had probably three different ladies. All are really good at it and don't butcher my gums. As far as dentistry, I use Dr. Brown. He is the maestro of the Novocain and drill. Went in today for a clean up and had an excellent experience! The dental hygienist was a charm and made me feel right at home. She x-rayed every part of my mouth and had digital photos displayed live on a convenient patient screen so she could talk me through what she looks for. She cleaned my teeth, gave me helpful feedback and called the doc in. Doctor Brown was a gentleman, did his examination, set a care plan and I was out of the office in less then an hour. Horrible. They wouldn't let me go back into the room with my son because "it was too tight back there and the dentist is left handed" then I paid over $500 for one visit (which was expected) then afterwards they sent me a bill for another $200 saying that insurance didn't cover what they thought. Huh?? Isn't that your entire job? Insurance and billing? Then, they bribe you to go online and give ratings and if you do you can "win an ipad". Here's my rating: AVOID!!!! Get it together! The man in front of me had his appointment card and they told him he was late (which he wasn't). I feel I've been robbed. Don't trust their ratings online because its just for their bribery. Talk about customer service! I live in DC but purchased a wedding dress at Tiffany's Bridal in Richmond. Tiffany's gave me a free teeth whitening through Brown Reynolds Snow and I scheduled an appointment to come to Richmond and get my kit on Presidents Day. They originally told me that if I came in around 8 am, I would be able to pick up my kit (had to make a mold of my teeth) by the end of the day so I wouldn't have to come back to Richmond and take a day off of work. When I got to my appointment, it was clear that a big snow storm was on its way and that picking up my kit at the end of the day would leave me stranded in Richmond for the night- maybe even a few days. They worked some magic and had my kit ready by mid day to get me out of Richmond and home to DC safely before the storm.
