I've visited this place a few times, and unfortunately, the quality of the chicken has gone downhill. Each order was different, showing a real lack of consistency. I wanted to support a small business, but the food and service declined with each visit. There's frequently an issue with the card reader, and one time, another customer even ended up with my card--so be careful. Many of the positive reviews seem to come from friends and family, and I've never seen the place busy. While the owner is friendly, he doesn't come across as professional, and even his wife no longer comes around. I wouldn't come back, even if it were free. read more

As soon as you come in you're greeting and the ambiance is friendly! The owner is so kind and always there to greet customers he personally brings some nachos and salsa on the house. Started with the Thai chili wings and the owner also suggested to try one or two wings coated in coconut chili sauce- AMAZING! Crispy and crunchy wings. But you GOTTA COME and try the Birria tacos- listen they are amazing- I definitely recommend and I can't wait to go back and try the birria Ramen. The prices aren't bad either for the area. 2 of us ate here and spent only $27 and we ate A LOT! Serving size is great! Come give them a try. Update went back and got the ramen! In a word, salty. I ordered from here one night when I was in search of something quick. The staff was super friendly and ordering was a breeze. Their menu prices online do differ from what they really charge so definitely be weary of that. I got an order of chicken tacos which came with lettuce, cheese and sour cream. I thought they were going to come with onions and cilantro like their pictures but maybe I had to ask specifically for that. They were really just alright, nothing special about them. Super salty and mediocre. Along with that I got steak quesadillas for my boyfriend. He liked them but he said the same thing, nothing spectacular about them. We also got their loaded nachos with chorizo. The chorizo was not authentic, it tasted like chopped up hotdog on top of nachos. Overall, there's better Mexican food in the area. It's not a terrible place for Tex mex but it was just so over seasoned with salt that I didn't feel great after eating it. I'd skip this place. read more

Ordered delivery from this place because it was open at 8:30pm on a Monday when almost everything else was closed. I was so impressed they offered tacos/burritos AND wings? Had to get both. The Thai chili sauce on the boneless wings was really good, they had so many sauces to choose from. The fries were nice and crispy which is extra cool considering they were delivered. What separates this place from greatness? Nothing too crazy - my burrito had a huge glob of sour cream so like 3 bites in a row I took of the burrito were just mouthfuls of sour cream. The wings could've been a bit fresher but it was late so I think that could be part of it. Here you have the perfect example of "don't judge a book by its cover". I'm not going to lie; I was very nervous when I pulled up. Then again, I have found a lot of times that the best food is in places that one would consider a hole in the wall. Let's start with the staff. PHENOMENAL. Welcoming, polite and accommodating. Just what you need, especially in the situation we are currently in. Ok, ok. Let's get to the food. Taco Al pastor - was excellent. Came with pineapple and of course guac. Extremely tasty and well done. Got banged up a little on the ride home but after a little reconstructive surgery, it was palate worthy once again. Wings!!!! Yes, not only do they have wings but people are bragging about them. I was already thinking how I'd have to politely say they weren't worthy as I was waiting here. Luckily, that wasn't an issue. We went with the most talked about, City Gold. It is a honey and mustard based sauce. Yeah....... it's the tall deal. My 7 year old polished off half the order. Fear not, we also got an order of garlic parmesan. That was average. It's hard to compare after having the City Gold first. The wings themselves had a nice outer crisp. I'd like to also note that both wing orders were boneless. Our 7 year old won't stand for bone in.... yet... With that said, whether you're looking for a local wing or taco fix, this place gets a solid score from this guy right here. Ordered from Postmates last night, I was feeling tacos for dinner. I got 4 authentic tacos, loaded nachos, and bone-in wings. My opinion about the food: Tacos: I like the corn tortillas that they used, definitely taste good but the meat is a deal breaker for me. I got steak and they cook it well done. My jaw started to hurt from chewing because the meat is really tough! The meat is not seasoned well and it just feels like your eating the rubber on the button of your shoes. Though, the combinations of ingredients in the tacos were great. Nachos: I got ground beef with the nachos as my meat. Again, the meat taste under seasoned. But they really load it up. Though, it's not very tasty. Taco Bell's taste better. Wings: not too impressed by them. Most of the wings that I got weren't covered in sauce. So I was eating unseasoned wings again. Root beer: I got their house brand root beer and it was delicious!! Honestly the best root beer I've ever tasted! Over all: This place is by far not something I'll be looking to order again. For a place that has the NAME "WINGS" in its title - I would expect more. EVERYTHING was frozen and thrown in a deep fryer or scooped into ramekins from a big giant tub that they bought at Restaurant Depot. Nothing was fresh at all..... Guacamole - that gross jarred stuff that tastes like imitation avocado that you can tell was scooped out of some big TUB from RDepot. None of it was made with an actual avocado. I mean the wings were ok enough, if you're in the mood for those frozen heavily breaded wings, like frozen French fries - then they just throw some jarred sauce on top of them. The garlic Parmesan has ZERO PARMESAN FLAVOR or actual Parmesan CHEESE associated with them. Instead they're covered in this gross jarred garlic 'goo' that you buy in the grocery store. The hot buffalo wings had NO buffalo sauce, just crunchy SALTY frozen then fried "buffalo flavor". Never again. Too many other great places that prepare their food with fresh ingredients. One decent thing that we did get was the chicken Empanada. (We only got one). But it looked more like a Jamaican patty then a homemade empanada though..... read more

Unfortunately we returned to this place thinking it would be good again, but they got our order wrong and took over an hour for delivery. They also stop taking delivery orders an hour before they close. We ordered 12 wings, mild, with ranch and we received 10 very tiny HOT wings with no sauces. Also the tostones were at least a day old. They were covered with salt and hard as a rock (I took a video for google reviews, it was that bad). We couldn't even eat them because they were so hard. The chips that came with the quesadillas were hard too. I now definitely think this place is overpriced and didn't get a receipt either. read more

I don't like to give negative reviews . Many times I just keep quiet but I got really agitated when I went into this establishment the other day. I ordered 3 tacos and a pork quesadilla. The person who took the order was friendly at the time . I sat down because I wanted to eat there but then I started getting so annoyed by this vulgar music being played on the tv. I began getting a headache and every other word was n word and f words . When I walk into a Mexican restaurant I typically like to hear Mexican music like ranchera or something pleasant to ear. I got up and asked the counter person kindly to change the music or shut it off just for the moment. She then obliged and turned it to the same n word music!! I was livid and couldn't take it so I asked for the order to go! Imagine if I would've brought my 9 year old son there to listen to this garbage . She did this to spite me and it was like she was showing me she is boss. The saying is the customer comes first and you are there for the customer and I'm not there for you !! On top of that I was hoping the food would be good but since the restaurant isn't an authentic Mexican restaurant I felt the taco shells were stale from an old box of El Paso and the chips that came with it weren't the fresh kind , probably Tostitos. I wouldn't have wrote this review if the food was mediocre but it is . But o have this person irk me was what makes me never want to come back here again. So went here for the second time. Both times I've gone food has been good. Food is about 4-4.5 stars rounding up to 5 cause of price and cause of the owner is nice and welcoming. Got the tacos with chips & a drink $10.50 or so!! If I lived near by I would go here often. The food is fresh and tasty the guacamole was good and the chips and salsa free is a nice touch. Fantastic location for delicious, low-priced lunch. I ordered cheese quesadillas, cheese empanadas, fries, and Tres Leches cake. All of the items were super delicious and fresh. From the flour tortilla to the chips to the cake, everything was made in-house. The three-cheese quesadillas were heavily stuffed with cheese and served with sour cream, pico de gallo, and homemade tortilla chips. The exterior was perfectly crunchy. The cheese empanadas were my least favorite because it was made using cornflour and was soggy. The fries were crunchy and seasoned with paprika, salt, and pepper. Lastly, the Tres Leches cake stole the entire show. The sponge cake was soaked in three kinds of milk: evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream. The cake was perfectly sweet. After reading reviews, my husband and I gave City Tacos and Wings a chance. We ordered last night at 5:45PM and our food was delivered right after 8:00PM. We ordered one loaded nachos, jalapeño poppers, and 8 wings-nothing special or customized. The nachos were the worst nachos you have ever seen, right now any one of us can open our pantry and make better nachos with just the stuff you have in your house. It was the yellow "cheese" sauce that you'll also find at 7-11, canned black beans, salsa that was pretty much just water that soaked the chips, and the worst guacamole. The jalapeño poppers and wings were just frozen products they re-fried. I would say this place is a step below Taco Bell and 10 steps below ANY Mexican restaurant within driving distance. Go to Mariachi Grill, straight down Ridge Road, for amazing Mexican food. Every time we drive by the place is packed with teens and kids hanging outside and it looks like waiting for food, and I think it must be a fun place and that accounts for its high score. This place always hits the spot! Small business done right! Cesar the store manager is super friendly and always willing to make sure your meal is made perfectly. The vegetarian fully loaded quesadillas are filled perfectly with a sour cream and guacamole topping. I also get the burrito dipped. It adds a nice crunch to a super tasty bean burrito. I recommend asking them to add some jalopenos. I've also had the chicken burrito which is also super flavorful and filling. I have tried the wings once and they too were on point. The mango habanero sauce is finger licking good. Its the hidden gem in Lyndhurst. The prices have increased since opening but still competitive. read more

The tacos were only passable, and the onions and cilantro advertised were nowhere to be found. On the sauce note: I selected chipotle BBQ, mango habanero and city gold. The mango habanero was outstanding. Great level of heat, and rich with flavor. The city gold by comparison less great - but that could have been the habanero affecting my taste... the Chipotle BBQ was good, and I would definitely enjoy that again. All together, I would probably order from these guys again if I was having people over for a party, as the prices are definitely right. If the wings were baked and the tacos came dressed properly, it would be a 5 star situation and the delivery guys would know me by name. read more

Pretty meh. That about sums it up. The wings are good but if you can't fry chicken wings then you should shut down anyways. And they do not give dressing for wings. If you want dressing you to pay extra even though their website and in store menu says "Served with celery and carrots, blue cheese or ranch dressing". First time coming here on Friday. Came here with a couple of friends after school. One of my friends was like this place is amazing. I believed him of course, I had to try it out. Place was very vibrant with the comic sequence style photos on the wall. The bright red with a delicious menu. They offer empanadas, quesadillas, burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and much more. I ended up getting a burrito sin queso y crema. The burrito was "huuuuge" way bigger than one I've ever gotten. The tortilla was nice and had that light crisp yet had a light airy consistency on the inside filled with Mexican rice and pico de Gallo and guac. I finished it all. I loved this place because you could tell the person at the counter is very homey and treats you como familia. I'll be back here to have more things, I gotta try their empanadas. read more
