I am SO excited that I found this place. Coming from San Diego, I've been dying to find a really good taco/burrito shop in the North Jersey area. I ordered a few times during quarantine, one being on Cinco De Mayo. It seems like a popular place as both times I've had to wait at least 45-60min for my order to be ready for pick up. The queso bean dip is cheesy and creamy. I don't prefer bean dips but this one really blew me away. The mixed tacos allow you to try the beef, shrimp, and chicken. I've also had the fish taco. I would have to say that beef and shrimp were my favorite. The chicken is on the drier side and the fish taco was just average. The beef quesadilla wasn't really special but wasn't bad. It was a little on the greasier side but it was still delicious. Beef, cheese, and tortilla: you can't go wrong here. Now my two absolute favorites were the shrimp burrito and asada fries (both with no beans)! The fries were so crispy and flavorful and the asada on top was cooked perfectly. I literally inhaled these. The shrimp burrito is HUGE with plump shrimp. The Taco Shop is my new favorite and I will be frequenting here. read more

this place has been on my list for quite some time, so I decided to give it a try since I was in the area. The inside was surprisingly small but the staff was also surprisingly pleasant, they were very accommodating and our food came out pretty fast. mexican cheese fries were great, only criticism would be that they were a little too crispy for my taste. The tacos were truly spectacular though, some of the best I've ever had and I've eaten a lot of tacos in my life! This spot is definitely one of the tastiest authentic Mexican spots in the area! I went around 2:30pm on a Saturday and it was empty. It's in a pretty residential area so there really isn't a lot of parking (some street parking a few blocks down). I parked at a parking lot around the corner from the shop by some other restaurants. Be warned -- the lights and crosswalks are long and not correct. It will tell you to cross when cars still have a green light. I would recommend driving and crossing carefully, especially since there are so many kids and families in the area. Pros: -The food is great! Lots of options for different dietary restrictions, and the choices range from brunch-type food all the way to dessert. -It doesn't seem like a busy place. I was the only customer for a while, and then a bunch of little kids came in but that was it. -The staff is friendly and easy to work with. I originally ordered tres leches but they didn't have any and the cashier was great with getting me a new dessert. -Portions are appropriate if you're somewhat hungry. They definitely are NOT large, but with the amount of toppings and spices most of the food comes with, it will make a dent in your stomach. However, the price doesn't really match the portion size in my opinion. The side sauces are also a bit skimpy. My cheese quesadilla's sour cream came in one of those little 1 oz. plastic contianers and was only 1/3 filled -- skimpy for an entire quesadilla. Cons: -It's pretty expensive. I got a cheese quesadilla ($8), Mexican fries, chicken nachos, and a single slice of cheesecake ($5) which totaled almost $40. The fries and nachos were considered "sides" so for them to be more expensive than an entree like the quesadilla was definitely above average for the area. I also prefer Shrimp in my food, but all the shrimp-add ons were anywhere from $6-10 more. -Parking is abysmal. I would recommend having someone drop you off and circle back when the food is ready (basically ordering pickup), or just not staying and eating since you may be walking a distance to get there. -Wait time for food is somewhat long. It took me about 20 minutes to get my food and I was their only customer for the first 15 minutes (before the kids came in). It's a newish spot and they don't seem to have everything streamlined just yet, but the food is great! I would come here again if I was looking to spend a little extra on some good food. read more

Excellent tacos. Texan here and boy do I miss a good Mexican taco. I got the mixed tacos where the mix steak, chicken and shrimp into three tacos. Lots of delicious, flavorful meats into a corn tortilla. All the toppings and they also add some guacamole. Delicious! Will come again and try the Asada fries. Parking isn't too bad. The Taco Shop has become my go-to spot for authentic Mexican food. Their proteins are flavorful and add great flavor to any of their dishes. I have tried everything from their shrimp tacos to their asada fries and have not been disappointed. My favorite has be (what i believe are called) are chicken stuffed tacos, essentially they are mini quesadillas filled with fajita veggies, cheese, and chicken. Delish! The staff is friendly and they are partnered with Mob Burger, which is around the corner, so I was able to finish off some tacos with a Nutter Butter milkshake. Don't let the size of this restaurant deceive you, as they have big flavors and a plenty of dishes to choose from! read more

1) The food was good enough to keep ordering from them even when the delivery driver doesn't deliver to my apartment door. The folks down in the lobby told me that the delivery person said '$4 tip isn't good enough to deliver up to the apartment.' 2) They replaced my NY Strip bowl with 'regular steak' bowl but decided to give a little more steak. The NY strip bowl is $34.95, while the regular steak bowl is $17.99. 3) I called the restaurant because I was not too happy with the above events happening again. The restaurant representative told me to "f&%$ off" and slid in the 'n-word' to cap it off. I've ordered multiple times from this place because the food was actually decent. Cute spot that opened up in town and I hope it gets to stick around. Prices are average and portions are appropriate. Clean space with a decent amount of seating. Good place for dates or parties of 3 or 4, probably no bigger. We ordered the following: chicken quesadilla, steak quesadilla, chicken burrito, steak tacos, and a large guac and chips. I was hoping the tacos came with a side of rice & beans but they come with fries, rice & beans are separate. The burrito we ordered was mostly rice but still good, hopefully they put more chicken in there next time. Guac was lacking salt but no big deal. Everything else was perfect and delicious. Pick-up time was 20 minutes. Would definitely come again. It's so nice having a taco spot so close by. read more

If you're ordering delivery, stay away! I've tried this place 3 times. Or rather, I attempted 3 times and only got a decent meal (like 3 star) once. I ordered for delivery using delivery.com but unlike uber eats, with delivery.com, the restaurant still uses their drivers. Attempt 1:. Saturday May 17th placed an online order at 8:02 pm, at 8:25pm the restaurant called to say it'd be another hour before they have a driver available. So I had to call delivery.com myself to cancel the order because the restaurant didn't have drivers. Why take orders then if you can't deliver? We settled for McDonald's because at that point we just wanted something fast. $44 dollar order Mostly successful Attempt 2: Saturday May 25th, we decided to go in. We got our food. But anything other than fanta and snapple to drink was sold out. We just wanted basic water or something not loaded with sugar, didn't matter if it was cold or bottle from a case that hadn't been opened yet. But they didn't have anything. And for ordering a 13 dollar burrito, 10 dollar tacos, and 8 dollar Mexican fries, I expect you to have bottle of water on hand. Or at least water in a cup. It was decent and flavorful. Not great but gave me a bit of faith to try them again. Very disappointing Attempt 3: May 29th I placed an order over delivery.com at 7:38pm with an expected deliver window of 45 to 60 minutes. I wait until 8:53 and give them a call asking what happened to my order. They gave me a bunch of excuses about traffic (it's a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute drive from my place to theirs) so I said w.e I'll wait a bit longer since at this point I've already wasted an hour waiting. The food didn't arrive until 9:10pm which the was colder than room temp and not even good. Needless to say, they never have to worry about me ordering from there which is a shame because Adrian's Pizza which is owned by the same people has never given me a problem delivery wise and they are literally right around the corner from them. read more

Ordered Chicken tacos with no Pico sauce...they served me pieces of fatty chicken on pita bread and called it a taco. No cheese ,tomato nothing just chicken on a pita! When I asked about it...the server just walked away, never asked if I want something else or if there was something wrong with my order! My friend got Caprese sliders, what a joke..thinly sliced mozzarella on Potato rolls are you kidding me!! If this places last another month I'd be very surprised!! read more

Food is awesome. Tacos are authentic, rice and beans are phenomenal, and veggie quesadilla comes with a generous serving of veggies. My friend had the chicken fajita and he got a ton of food. Found this restaurant on instragram, seeing the pictures I knew I had to try it! From my first call to the establishment I knew it was going to great. Jasmine picked up the phone and she was courteous and pleasant. When Smith arrived with my party she immediately knew I was the one I called and I right away felt like I was home. Jasmine's service was great which means just as much as the food being great! She was so thorough and really took her time to go over the menu with me and my party. Place and order here for delivery it arrive an 1hr 45 mins later when I am literally 6 min away. Tacos got Saggy and not tasty at all after being so late. Avocado turn dark and tortilla chip got soft. Just a disappointment and also over price. read more

I discovered the Taco Shop as I was passing by and the store front looked pretty inviting so I went in. It's a nice space with top 40 songs playing in the background, nicely air conditioned, and was welcomed immediately. This restaurant is more so a fast casual serving Mexican food with traditional menu items as well as items with a modern twist. As a heads up if you dine after 5 pm, there's a lot that you can park in across the street and believe it's a restaurant that closes at 4 pm. You don't need to be concerned about your car as they granted the owner of the Taco Sho permission to do so. The menu is pretty straightforward and nicely priced in my opinion. I had their Asada fries topped with skirt steak, cheddar jack cheese, beans, jalapeños, pico de Gallo, guac, and fresh cream. You can also swap the steak with chicken if you prefer that too. Their quesadilla was pretty good too and surprisingly fulfilling. Also, order the tacos and honestly you can't dine at the taco shop without trying their tacos. They also have a new menu item that includes a cheese dip with beans, diced tomatoes, onions, and served with fresh tortilla chips. This dip was absolutely delicious and highly recommend it. My visit today was absolutely amazing and loved every bite. read more

My son, husband and myself just had the picadera appetizer with there homemade mint Lemonade drinks and everything was absolutely delicious. My son couldnt stop eating his cheese quesadilla he was obsessed with the freah crema. To top it off the churros with ice cream was to die for lol. Service was excellent and food came out fast. I'm not really too satisfied being completely honest. If i walked into this restaurant being told this place served Mexican food and the small flag they have where the register was removed, I would've never guessed thinking I came here to eat Hamburgers and wings. I ordered the chicken tacos to go ($10.66) which is extremely pricey considering I'm from San Jose CA where everything is expensive and yet even back home in California they have authentic, delicious tacos that cost around five or six bucks for three of them. The tacos here were good, but I can't justify paying $10.66 for three small tacos, It's just not worth it. Btw please get better containers for carry out. Ordered the Veggie Burrito. Nice size Burrito, I must say. Nice flavor to the veggies but the rice inside was a little bland. I want to try this place again and give their tacos a shot. Paid around $12 for the burrito. Eh. I think the biggest pain for this place is the parking!! That's the reason I didn't try Mob Burgers which used to be at this location before them but I was craving tacos and didn't want to go to Chipotle near by. I wanted that home cooked feel. Parked on Madison St fortunately it was a good time of the day where I could park close to the corner of Moonachie Ave and didn't have to cross with heavy traffic on Moonachie. I was really not happy at all with my experience at The Taco Shop. The person at the register was not friendly whatsoever; he had music blasting behind his head while he was mumbling my order to me, had no response when I said, "this is our first time here, I've been so excited to try it out!", and he literally said absolutely nothing when he dropped off our food at our table. The prices are ridiculous for the amount of food that you get. Our food was nothing special AT ALL. We got steak tacos, shrimp tacos, a chicken burrito, and steak nachos. The price was just under 60 bucks (crazy and totally not justified!) and the portions were tiny - they should include some chips or SOMETHING. The chicken burrito was the worst I've ever eaten - no cheese inside at all, practically all rice and beans, and the chicken was diced so small, it was dry. I actually left there mad... and still hungry. Mexican is by far my favorite food and I'm usually easily satisfied but to leave hangry and disappointed...no bueno. read more
