This taxi service saved me this summer, arriving outside Omaha airport after midnight in late June, after losing my Mother, who was still stuck in Chicago airport. The owner, Ron, was there training a new driver, Calvin. They were so kind and helpful and then they took me to my hotel in Council Bluffs. The owner even tried to call and get me into a slightly better hotel! I then used the taxi service again the next day to go and pick my Mom up and after staying a month in Nebraska, used City Taxis again for us to be picked up from Enterprise rental car to return to the airport. Totally unreliable. I called a day ahead and made an appointment for a pickup at my apartment. The driver simply never showed up. I called the company twice while waiting and they had no explanation or backup driver. They just said "we don't know where he is and he doesn't answer his phone." That's the level of people they hire. In the first call, the dispatcher claimed he would call me back right away but I waited with no call, so I finally called back myself. Still no service. I stood in front of my building for half an hour with no ride. I had to scramble at the last minute to get to work. My supervisor was understanding or I could have been written up. I have no idea how this company has any 5 star reviews but I have a hard time believing those are genuine. I wouldn't use this company again in a million years. read more

There were times when I was not able to find available Uber or Lyft rides, so I tried using City Taxi - and it did not disappoint! The first time I used this service, the driver gave me an ETA and arrived right on time. The cost is about the same as going through Uber or Lyft, too - just be sure to have cash with you since that is the only form of payment accepted. I have used this taxi service several times since (scheduling a ride ahead of time) and the driver always arrived 10-15 minutes early, each time saying "I never want the passenger to have to worry if I am going to show up or not." The driver was also careful to take the shortest route each time so I would not be charged extra. Great customer service! City Taxi took precautions in response to COVID-19, as well. The driver was equipped with masks and the car had a clear tarp separating the driver and the passenger seats. If you need a ride, I recommend using City Taxi! read more

We used City Taxi Inc to bring my sister, who uses a mechanical wheelchair, home from the airport after living out of state for over a decade. We were not familiar with transportation methods for people utilizing mechanical wheelchairs in Omaha and the task was overwhelming. Three weeks before her trip, I called several agencies and companies with no luck, until I talked with Ron at City Taxi. I left a message and he called me back within 5 minutes. He immediately said he would help to bring my sister home and he did. Throughout the process he was kind and professional. When sharing the information for her arrival he was available by phone and text and was very responsive. On the day of her arrival, he was there on time and communicated with us via text at the airport. When the deplaning process was delayed, he waited and kept in communication. When my sister reached the van she was frazzled from a long day of travel. Ron took it in stride. He remained kind and professional throughout and drove my sister safely to her new home. I've never been told to "f" off by a company but it actually happened! I've recently moved from London (England) to Omaha as a military family and have never been spoken to with such venomous distain! I ordered a taxi to collect me at 7pm and when no one appeared after 10 mins I called to enquire their whereabouts... I was told that if I didn't know the name of the driver they were unable to determine which of their 3 drivers it was so the booking was unconfirmed. My husband and I refuse to drink and drive. It's all about karma for us. I am responsible for your safety on the road, just as you are for mine. So, we will use a Taxi once or twice per month. We have used, and been very disappointed by, the big taxi service here in town. So, we decided to start using City Taxi a year or so ago. The drivers are more friendly and don't try to pick up on me like the last place we used, they take the shortest route (they don't drive out to BFE to run up the meter like the other place we used), and the cars are always clean. I recommend this company and will likely use it again......unless we stop drinking when we go out...hahahahaha lol! read more

I had a reserved pickup at 6:05 am today 10/28/2020 from Justin to take me to the Omaha Lazer institute to have surgery on my eyes. I had told Justin how important this was as you can't drive after surgery and need him to wait(While I paid) so he could take me home also. At 615 I called to see why he wasn't there and there was he didn't bother to answer and his mailbox was full. He sent me a text later saying he had to work later than he thought like that was some kind of excuse. He didn't even bother to call me to say he was not going to show up knowing how important this was to me. It was a total lack of service on his part and apparently he didn't care. This type of service will now make me NEVER use City Taxi again and I will tell everyone I know not to use them also. You just can't get any more unprofessional than that. I needed reliable transportation for my daughter when she arrived in downtown Omaha late at night at the Amtrak Station. Arrangements were made with City Taxi. A cab was waiting when the train arrived, and the driver picked her up and quickly delivered her to her destination. I recommend this taxi service and plan on continuing to use them in the future. I see a lot of bad reviews for other taxi services. If Yelp and Econo Lodge recommended City Taxi, then they must be good. Dispatcher said it will only be a couple minutes but the guy showed up in about 15 which meets my expectations of half hour or less. The driver called me by a different name, turns out the dispatcher typed a different name even though I spelled it out for him. The driver was fast and drove me to Epply in minutes. I will do business with them again if I ever come here again. Just wish the dispatcher was more honest with the promise time. Thumbs up for the driver. read more

Don't use them if you want to be on time to work or somewhere... They lie and day they're almost there and haven't even started to come get you.... Use another service. The flight from Chicago to Omaha was scheduled to arrive @ 1am. I was not sure what taxi arrangements were available in Omaha at that hour of the day and called call City Taxi a couple of days in advance. I had no experience with City Taxi and I just randomly selected it from the listing of Omaha cab. What a stroke of luck that was!!! More specifically, it was my good fortune to get hooked up with Brian who is one of their drivers. I told him of my need and schedule. Lo and behold he took the initiative to call me a few hours before my flight was to leave Chicago, just to "check-in" with me and assure me everything was all set on that end. He also gave me his personal cell # in case I needed to contact him for any reason. I was blown away!! As much as I travel I NEVER had that type of proactive service. Needed to get to the airport to rent a car on Labor Day. Called City Taxi and they were at my door in 5 minutes. Drive to the airport took 10-15 minutes and the driver took the most direct route. Driver also observed all applicable speed limits and safe driving. Will definitely use the City Taxi service again in the future. read more

June 13, 2016 We feel like we must take the time to contact you to commend your driver, "Dusty", for the wonderful service he gave to us when we were in Omaha on June 5. We had returned a rental car, and called a taxi to take us to the Amtrak Station to catch the train departing at 10:05 pm. It was about 4:30 in the afternoon and when we arrived at the Station, we discovered that it did not open until 9:30 pm. That did not look like a good place for a couple of senior citizens to stand around for five hours. There were no benches, no restrooms, no place to get out of the heat. "Dusty" wouldn't leave us there. He located an area restaurant and called them to see if we could "hang out" there with our luggage until time for the station to open. The Chop House was very welcoming so "Dusty" took us there, settled us in and promised to be back at 9:00, and he was there promptly. It was still not quite time for the station doors to be open, and, although there were other people there waiting by then, he still would not leave us until he had seen us and our luggage safely inside. What a wonderful "upper" to find someone so willing to go out of his way for our safety and comfort. We will never forget him, and have enclosed the picture we took at the station. BECAREFUL FOLKS. I arrived at my destination. I went into the house. My son drove up and could not figure out why the taxi driver was out of the car moving towards the residence. The driver immediately jumped back into the car and drove off. SCARY AS HELL. WHY.? I called the company but they have not responded. Is this casing a residence or something more sinister. We were staying in La Vista, Nebraska and we first called City Cab 24 hours a head to book to the airport. They were curt, not helpful to the point of being rude. We called Happy Cab and the lady on dispatch was informative and friendly. Our cab driver who was courteous and friendly, arrived right on time at 3am with a smile. At 3am, that was a feat, ugh what an hour to get to the airport. Special mention is Happy Cab provides Senior Discounts, City Cab does not. read more
