Lyft is a welcome addition to the local transit scene. I have been using them since they came onto my phone last year.A quick sign up (phone number and current debit card) and you are good. You request a ride and then a driver accepts. I waited at most, 10 minutes, Once you are 'connected' with your driver, you can watch them via the app and see the location of them as they can see your location. Every driver has been respectful and kind so far. At the end of the ride you get a confirmation and you can rate the trip in a five star rating. The drivers get to rate you as well. Much cheaper and quicker than our current cab system. Tech rocks. No cash. The driver has less chance of being robbed and you don't need cash for a cab. I scheduled a ride for June 5th. I was outside waiting. Lyft said my driver was on the way, then that they were waiting for me. They never showed. I was charged a cancelation fee for a ride that never arrived. No response to my email's. Thanks to Uber I made it to my appointment. Uber had no problem picking me up. read more

Lyft might care about their riders a little, but they don't care about their drivers at all. They pay them horribly and find ways to cheat them out of bonuses. Their is never any phone number for Lyft drivers or riders to contact them yet Uber has numbers for both. When I was threatened by a crazy rider that called me because they didn't want to wait for a ride, Lyft could not track them and did not care about my safety at all yet Uber could do all of these things to help me! Love me some Lyft! When I can't or don't want to drive, I just open up the Lyft app on my iPhone, see if a driver is nearby and if so, just tap a couple things and a driver arrives at my doorstep in a matter of minutes. It's just better than "hailing a cab," especially when compared to having to call the dispatcher at the local taxi service. It's not the pink mustaches or fist-bumps (kind of dumb, actually) that are the biggest sell for me, it's the ease of use as a consumer. If the local taxis had an app that was equally as user friendly, I'd happily use it. But they don't. And Lyft does. Plus, paying (including tipping) is super easy -- you just pay through the app after your ride, so no awkward money exchanges have to happen. You can also rate your driver and your driver can rate you, leading to more transparency all around. read more

Awesome. I don't use Omaha cabs because of horrible experiences but actually like using Lyft. Great thing is you see exactly where the driver is, an actual car picture, license plate number, and the driver's picture. I have waited hours for a cab in Omaha. Lyft tops 15 mins but it is ok since you can see exactly where the driver is at any time. read more

Lyft has put several fraudulent charges on my card. They stole all my money and refuse to speak with me. You cannot reach them by phone and their app is worthless. It gives no assistance for this situation. I had to call my bank's fraud department to dispute charges and ended up with a canceled credit card. They are the most unpleasant and worthless company I have ever had to be associated with. They have no customer service and their app is nothing but a joke. I recommend never using this company. It was the worst mistake of my life and they kept putting more and more fraudulent charges on my account. They stole every penny I had. Never use this service. Hell would be better. read more

Had Devin (not sure of last name) as a driver and he was absolutely a blast. Accidentally led him on a wild goose chase (holiday party was at a different casino than I originally told him) but he was so funny that I didn't mind the extra fee. If I were forty years younger, unattached, and ten pounds thinner (no, five pounds thinner) I would have asked him out. All kidding aside, very professional, bright, exceptionally pleasant guy to be around. I've only used Lyft maybe 5 times and four of the five were great. Quick easy - clean cars - makes me feel like I'm being chauffeured. (The one driver had strong after shave and left his radio cranked up. Not sure what the song was...something about Yum Yum or Young Young or Young Dumb but the lyrics were pretty inappropriate. Unlike most 60+ year old females, I'm not a big fan of rap.) read more

Download the App Use the App to request a Lyft Put in the destination into the App. And await the Lyft Driver to arrive, normaly within a few mins.. Lyft isn't better than Uber but it isn't worse either. Competition is good and I like that Lyft gives free credits for various reasons.

Unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience with Lyft. As the driver was pulling away, I realized my phone had slipped from my pocket and was left behind in the vehicle. Without a phone, I was unable to locate the Lyft driver's contact information. I was also unable to log into my lyft account on a computer, as it requires a code be sent to your cell number. Spent well over two hours holding on the only contact line provided for Lyft. During that time I also tried every means of contacting them via web. By the time I was able to contact the driver, he informed me that the phone was no longer in the vehicle and had likely been stolen by one of the passengers he picked up in the last two hours. Because of a lack of response time I am out a great deal of money, worried about my security and stranded on a trip without a phone. I understand that it is not Lyft's fault my phone was left behind, but it most definitely is their fault that it is now stolen. read more

Scheduled Lyft for 1/2 hour trip to airport at 4:20 - 4:30 a.m. Lyft confirmed. At 4:15 received indication that closest driver was 39 minutes away, so already late. When he was 6 minutes away, he was replaced by a new driver, who was 15 minutes away, making Lyft at least 45 minutes late. Now risking missing the flight, we drove ourselves to the airport which we were trying to avoid by taking Lyft. No way to contact them to see what happened. I don't advise scheduling Lyft for an early morning flight. read more

I used lyfts' website to calculate a ride from my home to the airport. My quote was about 20$ which is a little less than a cab. So I decided to use their services. The ride came & I checked what I was billed 36$! Over 50% more than the website quoted me. I emailed the site over 3 times to get this resolved & they refused to refund me even 10$. This app is a scam! They will under quote you & over bill you & you can do NOTHING about it! Don't waste your $! read more

If you have a complaint about drivers that don't show up, as a result of profiling based on name...good luck contacting Lyft to investigate or complain. Try finding a phone number on their app. I'm sure they'll eventually experience the same catastrophic PR issues as AirBNB in the near future. read more

Just giving a little warning to anyone thinking of becoming a Lyft driver or even current Lyft drivers. I'll just tell my story. I became a Lyft driver almost a year ago, I have maintained a 4.9 rating the whole time. I have had every kind of passenger imaginable. luckly nobody that threw up in my car though! about a week ago I had a group of passengers picked up from a strange location they had luggage trash bags etc. that all went in the cargo area and they all sat in the back seat. I took them to their destination sorry to say but they smelled horrible.. After dropping them off I realized there was something blue and I mean dark blue leaking out of one of the trash bags in my cargo area. I immediately filed a report with Lyft submitting pictures of the damages exact pickup location, dropoff, times, and name. They replied saying I needed to submit a quote for repairs from a shop so I took it to get a quote lyft wouldn't accept the shop I took it to so I took it to Baxter Toyota the most legit place a person could go (if you have a Toyota). they gave me a quote for the repairs and I submitted it to Lyft just as they asked. the total of the replacement for my cargo mat and my rear floor mat was $200. Lyft decided that it was fair to pay me $50 dollars for cleaning it. I had already taken it to 3 places at this point who all said there is no cleaning a blue dye out of a vehicle after it has sat in the fabric for more than 3 days (this was taking so long because Lyft was not emailing me back in a timely manner) today I opened my Lyft app and now I am suspended. I am beyond angry at this point. my whole reasoning behind writing this is that if you are planning to be a Lyft driver or if you currently are just be careful and document if you can what and who goes in your car because Lyft won't always side with you when something bad happens to you or your vehicle. read more

I had never had bad experiences with lyft until this. This business is all good on the surface, but shady when it comes down to business. I was never told, notified, or informed about "Prime Time". This "Prime Time Incentive", which I discovered (10/19/14) is $30 extra on top of your total cabe fare. It is supposed to be an incentive for lyft drivers to pick up desperate riders at odd hours of the night. Unfortunately for lyft, I deleted the app and got a new card number. I was accepted and drive for Uber. I applied for Lyft, met a mentor and shortly after was un-invited to drive for them. Why? Because I walk with a cane and have a mobility scooter lift on my car. They discriminated against me because I have a disability. I have a clean driving record, current insurance, a nice car, yet they did not accept me. The rumors about Lyft are not rumors. They are the truth. If a CLASSY company like Uber wants me to drive for them and Lyft doesn't says so much about them. My mentor for lyft had the shakes like he was jonzin for a fix. I attempted to use Lyft but quickly discovered it was not all it is cracked up to be. Since then a friend of mine recommended Santa's Sleigh. Santa is a taxi driver in Omaha. Once you find a great driver you can call them directly and the taxi company is fine with that. Many drivers, the good and experienced ones, have business cards and will suggest you call them directly. There are some bad apples in any company and the local taxi company is no different. I often need a ride to Eppley airport at 4 am from Elkhorn and can not get a Lyft or Uber driver to pick me up in less than an hour. I call Santa the night before and he is prompt He even brings me a cup of freshly brewed coffee, if I want it. He picks me up at the airport when I come back on Fridays, usually about 5pm and drives me home without any extra fees, no charges per minute, no extra charges during "busy times". Just the same rate anytime I need him. He won't pick you up for a 2 mile run unless he is in the area but he sure does a fabulous job of providing service to the Omaha business population going to and from the airport! read more
