I asked for a chipdrop, which is supposed to be 20-25 yards of majority chips. I got two truckloads (40+ yards) of MOSTLY pine needles, leaves and grass clippings as well as enough long, un-chipped twigs to make it a major pain to move around. I called, text and left messages and was ignored. Then I left a bad yelp review and was instantly contacted. He repeatedly insulted my intelligence, like I'm not able to do a simple volume calculation, insisting that the enormous pile of pine needles and other nonsense was "good stuff" as if I should be thanking him. Eventually we agreed that if I amended my yelp review he would send people to help take some dents out of the pile. After using what I could in my yard, which was actually over 5 yrds, I called the owner to tell him about the mistake that they made by over delivering the quantity of mulch. After many calls Ubaldo said he would come and pick it up. I have called for over 10 days and hearing all sorts of excuses, I still have this remaining pile in my driveway. If ordering a half or full cord you are being cheated significantly. Delivered a half cord and tried to charge me for a full cord. In these economic times I really do not like leaving a negative review. However I ordered a full cord of wood 128 cuft, which is 8 x 4 x 4 feet, tightly stacked. They arrived with an orange trailer which was piled, not stacked with wood of 2.1 x 4.8 x 10.2 feet, which is approximately 102cuft loosely stacked. So already there is no way they are delivering a full cord, if it was tightly stacked they are already short 26 cuft. When stacked, it measured about 0.5 to 0.6 cord, or 64 to 76 cuft. I looked up that a typical loosely piled core is roughly 180cuft, plus or minus 20 percent. So, my estimate of it being about a half cord is correct. Plus the stacks were kind of loose, however I would have stacked the same way for speed so I won't knock anyone for a sloppy stack. The guys who delivered were super nice, and hard working. The owner who I talked with, even after showing him pictures with measurements of roughly less than 8x3x3 (or less than 72cuft), about a half cord of would not deliver the full cord. He insisted it was in fact a full cord. In the end, I did not pay them and they took their half cord of wood back. Such a waste of everyone's time. A full cord of wood is 8x4x4 feet, tightly stacked. Typically in three equal rows of 8ft x 4 ft x 18 inches wide. I hope this helps someone. If you were charged for a full cord, and had a delivery from this same trailer you only got about half a cord. Maybe you don't care about paying $300 for a full cord of mixed wood, and just getting half a cord. Just know you are not getting a full cord. read more

My interaction with the owner and crew was overall positive. I was definitely hesitant after reading so many poor reviews though, and trust, I did read them all. Ultimately, I decided that the worst couldn't turn out all that bad even if it was a bad experience, and decided to go with City Wide anyway. I was looking for a company to cut down some trees in my backyard that were largely overgrown into power lines and over the fences of my neighbors (sorry, guys!) and had gotten a few quotes already when my doorbell rang. It was a young woman handing out flyers for her uncle who owned a tree service. Now really, what are the odds? Why, yes, actually I AM looking to have some trees trimmed. She was about as surprised I said yes as I was that she was asking. Anyway, Ubaldo showed up a few hours later and provided me a quote that was competitive to the other 3 I had already received that day. The bonus was he said he could do it the next day, as he was working another job in the area. I said I'd let him know, because I'm hellbent on getting as many reviews and estimates as I can before overthinking until I'm annoyed and finally making a decision. He text me bright and early the next day. A little, "hi, I'm not going away, so how about letting us help trim your trees?" and remembered to throw in the fact that it was fate his niece showed up on the very same day I was searching for a company to come out and trim my trees. I was surprised at his assertion, but weirdly appreciated the charm. So, like a pushover, I gave in and agreed, and his crew showed up literally 20 minutes later. One of my concerns was that I have a metric sh*tton of plants and little decorative things in my yard, like hanging lights and lights in bottles (and random stuff that makes my backyard the place to be on summer nights) near the area of said trees. I expressed my concern to Ubaldo and he said it was no problem. I was still nervous. Turns out, his crew was careful to make their way around my stuff and moved things out of the way, even took down my lights, before setting up. I made sure of this by consistently peeking through the windows and stalking them to make sure nothing was being thrown around or stepped on throughout the time they were here. Later once everything was complete, Ubaldo came to collect payment and asked about the work. He explained how the trees will grow within the next few months once they fill out again. Very happy the quality of work and customer service of City Wide Tree Service.  They recently trimmed 7 palm trees for us and they all look better than ever. There were 4 palms about 40+ feet tall and 2 very old canary palms about 30+ feet. They really worked magic on shaping the canary palms. Cleaned away all of the seed pods and gave them a beautiful pineapple type of shape (see pics)  In one tree, there was a large bee hive that had to be removed first.  Ubaldo helped out by finding and scheduling a bee guy to come out and remove them, even though this required extra trips and time driving back out to our property. Top notch customer service. They also trimmed a very large pepper tree back to the property line, and were careful to haul away all of the large limb pieces and other debris.  Even though we asked them to cut the pepper tree back quite a bit, they were able to do it in a way that actually improved the overall look of tree and didn't harm its health. My husband and I recently bought a house on a a beautiful half-acre of land in La Mirada. Most of the property is covered with trees, shrubs, and ivy. The former owners were elderly and the house had been unoccupied for a year, so the trees and shrubbery had really gotten out of hand! We had trimmed some of the trees ourselves, but got to a point where we didn't have the equipment or experience to finish the job. We hired City Wide for a full day to "reset" and get everything healthy and (very importantly) off of our roof. The biggest job was a giant Chinese Elm on a fairly steep hill right in front of our house. We LOVE that tree, but it was resting heavily on the roof and had many dead branches in it. I got estimates from two places - City Wide wasn't the cheapest, but they are licensed and insured professional arborists. We love our trees and were really worried about getting a hack job, especially on the Elm which is the first thing you see when you look at our house. Ubaldo came to give us an estimate right away. He was very relaxed and knowledgable. I liked that he really seems to love trees, caring for them, and the nature they bring to a property. He also seemed to really understand the look I was going for - we wanted a pretty natural looking trim, not highly manicured. Scheduling was pretty easy - I work from home, so my schedule is very flexible and Ubaldo was easy to communicate with and understanding of needing to fit his work around my meetings (because chainsaws can be loud!). The crew worked quickly but carefully. They did exactly what I asked and what Ubaldo and I had talked about in the estimate. About mid-way through the job we did a walk around the property and I asked them to make a few small changes (mostly to trim a few ficus further from the roof line). After the work was done the crew cleaned everything up - there were TONS of branches but their chipper made short work of it all. They swept and blew all of the leaves away and made sure everything was clean. We did a final walk through and they made sure I was happy with the work. These are people that love trees and plants! I really feel like I can trust them with my property, knowing I won't be shocked by naked and stumpy foliage in the end. Not to mention the workers left our backyard a complete mess.. Dirt was flung all over the rest of our yard, coke cans and bottles were left on the ground. When we asked him to come back after the work was "done" to have it taken care of he was rude and unhelpful. He also no-showed TWICE as if he knew what we were going to say once he arrived.
