Jack got as much information as he could from me, and after having talked came out and checked my system for me. He went above and beyond once he got here. He did everything he could to help us get our original equipment running. We ran into some snags because our pump was so old. He then advised us on the multiple options of replacement pumps we can go with. With thirty years of experience I knew I was in good hands. Our pond is running better than it ever did before. He was really knowledgeable about koi and pond set up, and was even featured in Aquarium Hobbyist Magazine! Whether you are running an aquarium, a home pond, or even a commercial property do not think twice about calling here. After having spent a couple of days calling around and getting really terrible answers from other providers, I could not be more thankful I found Koi-ology.

My initial plan was to repair the area but soon became clear that aesthetically, it would not be the right decision. So I reached out to several businesses via Yelp. The first company that came to my home was Dave Pratt Designs. It's a family business, Dave is the dad and his kids are in college and are EXTREMELY involved in the business as well. They were the ones that initially came to my home. They showed up on time, dressed professionally and were extremely knowledgeable. They set the bar EXTREMELY high as most other companies were not as professional and I did not feel comfortable with their presentation. Also, the price point was more than fair with Dave Pratt. Once my HOA approved the drawings they provided, we scheduled a mutually convenient time for the install. There was a crew of 5-6 people at my home for 2-3 days working in 90 degree heat from 8:00am - 6:00pm non stop. They were incredibly professional and the quality of work EXCEEDED my expectations. I cannot recommend this business enough. Just absolutely fantastic in every aspect and every way imaginable. Much appreciated Dave, Andrew, Matthew, and the crew.

Previously, they removed our incandescent landscape lights and replaced them with all new fixtures and LED lighting. The difference was spectacular. Recently, Felipe reimagined our entire front yard landscape, and transformed it into a true work of art. All new ground cover, drought tolerant/resistant plants, block wall extension, some additional lighting, and new (realistic) synthetic grass. No more sprinklers as all plants are now watered via "drip irrigation. Truly a work of art by Felipe, whose creativity and imagination has no limits. It's always a pleasure speaking with Angie in their office, as she is a great listener and quick to provide her support. The BENPRO team worked diligently to transform our landscape into a picture-perfect thing of beauty! I am fond of saying you can tell the quality of a company by how they respond when things go wrong…read more tl:dr; in the case of MC, the answer is not at all. Here are all the things that have gone wrong: I discovered the hardware they used for my lighting and my sprinkler were the base models, despite paying top doller. The owner lied on google maps claiming they put in a higher system. I posted pictures of the base models. No reply. I had to buy after market not so great adapters to get smart access to my lights and sprinklers. They put a chip in my pony wall while installing (years ago) and promised to come back to fix it. They never did. I recently found out from a neighbor who sees a part of my yard I normally don't that I have a sprinkler that is just pouring onto the walkway. That was a few days ago and I haven't had time to look at it. A good company would come out and fix it for me. Given how they haven't fixed anything else yet, I'll have to fix this myself or pay a reputable company to take a look. Half of my lights don't work. Again, I have zero hope that they will repair the lights. I had to replace nearly every plant they chose because it either didn't match my plans or because they weren't suited to the climate here and didn't survive (lest you blame me, every plant I chose to replace it with is thriving. How do you choose plants that can't survive in a region where everything survives?) The owner said on my google review that he had tried to reach me "several times" and I told him not to call.... I have been begging for them to make these things right for years.. I have had no calls. I figured out he was probably calling the wrong number and the person kept telling them that and finally said to stop calling. I sure as hell didn't say it. I would still like them to come fix the pony wall, the lighting, and the sprinklers, and make it right that I paid thousands for plants that had to be replaced within a year. Instead, they are resting on their mostly high reviews figuring mine will get buried and no one will care. Which is why I'm on yelp now as well as google. Here's what you can learn from the reviews. When things go right, MC is great. I do love the layout they created and the work by the actual workers. They were diligent and hard working. The price was high but fair given the amount of curved pavers I had in the plans, it seemed reasonable. (This is assuming there weren't so many problems.) But if you have an issue with them, good luck. Years of me leaving voicemails and reaching out to no avail. They knew about the pony wall before they even finished the project. There is ZERO excuse for not fixing that before they were done. Now years later, any work won't match well. I'm just livid at this company. 75 grand and this is how I've been treated. Unreal.

I was THRILLED to learn that she works with a contractor, Ron Smith & Company, who could do the whole job. It was amazing to work with a cohesive team to design, plan, and execute my vision of a new front and back yard. A few standout points: 1) They worked around my budget and got me everything I wanted. 2) They made recommendations for things I hadn't thought of and also added knowledgeable insights to the things I knew I wanted. 3) They completed the job in 4 weeks, from demo to planting! The crew came 5-6 days a week, worked incredibly hard, were quiet, clean, and respectful, and left by 4pm. The communication was great, they ordered everything and kept half of our driveway clear so we could still use the garage to park our cars. And the craftmanship is noteworthy. The tinest details matter and I was able to make all the important choices at the right time. 100% recommend them for relationship, quality, speed, and price!

BRING ON THE SUPER EL NINO!…read more Joel and Sons recently completed a much overdue project at our home. For years, our outside drains were clogged, and I found myself setting up pumps during the storms to get the pools of water away from our home. Every year, I would tell myself that I would get the drains cleared. Before the rains came this past winter, I hired a company to hydro jet the pipes. They tried to clear the drains, but because they were so clogged, their equipment failed. Again, I was setting up the pumps during the rain storm. So, I researched and found Joel and Sons. I met Joel and he examined our front/back yards. He gave an excellent and fair estimate that would fix the drainage problems. Throughought the entire project, Joel sent videos of the work being performed. He and the crew went above and beyond to make sure we wouldn't have any future issues. I am so impressed by Joel and Sons, and I will call them again for future projects. More importantly, I will make referrals to my family and friends.

Great spot! Was looking for some small white rock and small lava rock for a planter I just built…read more The yard is kind of small but it's organized down to a science! They have literally everything contractors could possibly need from sand, P gravel, stone, rocks, brick, decorative concrete pavers, large landscape boulders, mortar, everything. I didn't need much, as my planter is only about 7' by 2' max, and I was afraid that maybe they didn't do small sales - but they did and I was able to fill 2 5 gal buckets when what I needed :) I was able to find small/ medium white rocks and also brown lava rocks. The Only thing they don't have is small black lava rock but they do have that in a medium size :) The younger guy that works there also offered to help me get my stone together. Chivalry is not dead folks LOL! So that was appreciated. I don't know what I was thinking, by showing up without a shovel, but they let me use one of theirs.
