The younger gal working there with piercings was extremely rude. I'm all for buying local and helping small businesses but she snapped at my 7year old, when I was down the other isle. Almost making her cry. She said don't play with those baskets they are new! Excuse me but the baskets for customers?? That are meant to wheel through the store to fill, and my daughter picked out treats for her kitty and a toy for our dog. She obviously hates her job, but I won't go back to that store, maybe get employees that want to be there. My daughter is a shy, sweet and loves animals when she was all choked up and ready to leave it took everything in me not to let her have it. Petco it is! read more

What can I say. The guys at this place are so nice it blew my mind. I believe the guy that helped me was named Jeramiah. He came out and gave my Cane Corso a treat. She did not take it but loved it later. I also had to get a harness type of a leash for my cat. He helped me so well and actually placed it on my cat. Just the warmth of the guys their and the over the counter help they provided is a top notch service. Will visit again I'm sure! read more

City Zoo is a small local store. If you are tired of walking into a huge chain pet store and having questions that don't get answered than this is the place for you. It has that "family" environment where they will actually remember you and care about the health and well being of your animals. According to another reviewer who states they are more expensive, I have not found this to be true. Another chain store nearby started out with cheaper prices on the premium dog and cat food I feed my animals and sometimes have sales, but soon they were above City Zoo's everyday price which is less than or equal to "sale" prices at other stores. You also get City Zoo bucks to use on other items like treats with the purchase of a bag of dog food. I recently was looking to change the cat food I had purchased at a local chain store and went to City Zoo and was advised on the most popular brand of cat food they sell and given samples to try before opening the bag in case my cats didn't like it so that I could easily return it. Where as when I went to the local chain store the person who knew about cat food was not in store and no one else knew the best choice for my cats. They absolutely loved the food by the way. I would highly recommend going here. There are 3 chain stores closer to where I live, but I'll be going here from now on. read more

not much in variety and more exspensive than regular chain pet stores such as petco for the same items. not impressed.
