Everyday that we lived here, I felt a nagging in my head that we had not made a good choice. The staff is ok - the property manager changed hands twice during our time here which made things disorganized and in general is not a good sign. Daryl was great, as was one other girl who worked in the office (blonde hair, can't remember her name), but the others gave us dirty looks every time we went in. And the maintenance staff, while very friendly, didn't seem to know what they were doing and every single time something broke or went wrong they had to come back at least 2-4 times before it was actually fixed. They really play up the amenities, but the gym equipment is crappy and often broken and we always found dog crap on the volleyball court. Important things to keep in mind: 1. We lived in the first few buildings, closest to the main office, and our neighbors were great. However, this is not typical. The building accepts section 8, and what's more, there are MANY families with young children. We met people who had nightmare stories to tell about noise and disturbances (the walls are definitely paper thin). And the pool was often crawling with kids to the point that we wouldn't even stay. When you're at the pool, security comes by and checks for your resident ID, but kids splashing everyone and screaming - that's ok. 2. Your address is Trumbull, but you're living in Bridgeport. And not a nice part of Bridgeport either. Forget about walking anywhere. There was actually a shooting RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from the complex while we lived there, and we'd heard about car and apartment break ins. There is security but I think it's very easy to get past them. If I had a friend moving to the area, I would definitely want them to know the above and what they're getting into! This is the third managed property that we lived in (the others were with Archstone and Mid-America Apartments) and this was the worst!

Whatever you do, do not even consider moving into any of the Metro Star Apartments in Milford! The…read moremanagment could not be more resident unfriendly. Long story short, I moved into the apartments on the green in Milford and within a short time, Metro Star started a construction project yards from my apartment window. They didn't tell me this was going to happen before I signed my lease, and have withheld any type of information about the project from its residents since then, like how long it is supposed to last or expected disruptions during the project. I had a nice view, in a quiet apartment (which is why I chose it), and now there is zero view and construction noise from 7 am to 7 pm, sometimes 7 days a week for the past 8 months or longer. I tried to be understanding, but the disruptions became more and more - blocking access to the building's parking, yelling and screaming workers, trucks coming in and out all day, idling for hours at a time causing such bad fumes I can't even open my windows at night after they leave because of the risidual smell. Add to that, there are workers staring directly into my apartment, literally yards away. I realize that Metro Star is a company and that as a company they have a right to build new units, so I asked nicely to be let out of my lease a few months early, and was told no because it would violate the Fair Housing Laws - a lie. When I pushed back against this perversion of the law, I was simply told no, they don't let people out of their lease for any reason. So I asked if I could move to another unit or building away from the noise, and was told I could but would be charged $1,500 fee. I am not sure who made that nonsensicle decision, but charging a penalty for a resident that wants to sign a new lease on a new unit but charging them $1,500 for the "honor" seems like maybe someone needs to go back to school. The last email I received sums it up perfectly, and this is a direct quote: "I'm sorry to say management has denied any concessions for the construction." The rent here is NOT cheap. There are MUCH better buildings in the area and there are MUCH MUCH better landlords. The greed that Metro Star exhibits is disgusting. They already have such a bad reputation in the community for overbuilding; and from the folks I have spoken to, it will only dive deeper into the sewer due to their lack of any kind of resident relations. Bad business practices result in bad business performance and I am bummed because I feel Milford is going to have a bunch of empty apartment buildings that will fall into disrepair as Metro Star mismanages their apartments into the ground.

The apartments themselves were smaller than I expected. I was looking for a 1 bedroom but my budget allowed for the 600 to 650 square foot apartments priced from $1980 to $2300. I really did not want something that small. Overall, the building looks like it will be great once it is completed. Currently, there is a lot of work to be done. I toured but did not sign a lease due to the size of the apartment and how unfinished the building was. Christian who helped us was phenomenal both on the phone before the tour, during the tour and even later following up by email. I will check out the building again in the future once it's fully done.

I signed my contract on June 1, 2025. However, due to an event that took place just two weeks prior to mine, management decided to implement new rules and unfairly use my event as the "test case." I personally spoke with Christian (Manager) just two weeks before my event--he was fully aware of the type of event I was planning and still approved it. Despite this, my event was singled out and targeted: my flyer (and only my flyer) was circulated internally via email, and my event was ended early. Let me be clear: Do NOT book Soundview Rooftop. The management is unfair, unprofessional, and dishonest. They withhold deposits and create a hostile environment, going out of their way to **control and demean clients--**even during events. Christian, in particular, demonstrated extreme bias and disrespect, ruining the atmosphere before doors even opened and making both myself and my vendors extremely uncomfortable. The biggest issue at Ten Trumbull is the management. The property manager, Marisa Mason, has been the most unprofessional manager I have ever dealt with. Rather than addressing residents' concerns, she often dismisses them or talks over people. On one occasion, when I called about an issue, her response was, "If you don't like it, you should get out." When I followed up regarding an ongoing issue with a downstairs neighbor, she replied, "What do you want me to do about it?" Those are not appropriate responses from someone responsible for managing a residential community. Whenever concerns are raised, the response is often, "You're the only one complaining," instead of taking the issue seriously. Problems are ignored until they become much larger. One of the biggest safety concerns has been the front entrance gate. It has been broken for months, allowing random people and suspected drug activity onto the property at all hours. This community is advertised as gated, yet management has allowed this security issue to continue for an unacceptable amount of time. The front desk has also been disappointing. On multiple occasions, deliveries such as flowers or groceries have been left unattended at the entrance instead of notifying residents. This creates an unnecessary risk of theft and shows a lack of basic customer service. Communication from management is consistently poor. A fire inspection was scheduled for the end of June, but when the day arrived, no one showed up. Residents received no explanation until several days later. Keeping residents informed about scheduled events should be a basic responsibility. There have also been repeated fire alarms caused by people smoking in the stairwells, requiring entire buildings to evacuate. When I reported this concern to the front desk, Rachel hung up the phone on me. Evacuations are serious safety events, and residents deserve to be treated with professionalism and respect--not dismissed. Another major concern involves an aggressive dog that lunged at us. This is a serious safety issue, particularly for families with children or anyone encountering the dog in an elevator or common area. To my knowledge, no meaningful investigation or follow-up occurred. It feels as though management consistently avoids addressing issues rather than resolving them. I've also never seen the property manager walking the community or proactively inspecting the property. She appears to spend most of her time in the office, and there have been multiple occasions when she was unavailable during normal business hours. We have been trying to resolve an issue since January and have sent multiple emails over the last three weeks without receiving a response. When I called the office, I was told she was "on leave," but staff could not say when she would return. Meanwhile, she has continued responding to Google reviews. To the corporate office: I strongly encourage you to review the management of this property. Residents deserve a manager who communicates professionally, follows through on concerns, keeps the community informed, and prioritizes safety. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. This property has the potential to be a wonderful place to live, but poor management has allowed it to deteriorate. The lack of communication, failure to address legitimate concerns, and unprofessional treatment of residents have created unnecessary stress and frustration. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend renting at Ten Trumbull. If you encounter a problem, don't expect timely communication or meaningful assistance. Save yourself the frustration and consider other options.
