The park, restroom in the background

We were in the area and daughter decided she wanted to visit this park again. The parking lot is partially under construction as of November 2025. Other than that the park looks just as beautiful as I remember it. I swear the turtles and ducks remember my daughter and I. They swam right up to us and just hung out for the longest time. It was nice visiting again and spending time here! This park encompasses 70 acres and includes many amenities. For years it was our favorite place to watch the July 4th fireworks each year. Plenty of parking and restrooms are very clean.

Love this spot. La Quinta Civic Center Campus is perfect for feeding the friendly ducks, relaxing on a bench, and just people-watching. During December they decorate with festive backdrops which makes it fun for photos. We usually grab food from the store across the street and have a picnic. It's clean, peaceful, and dog-friendly -- an easy go-to spot.

Nice shade for the play structures

We were staying in Indian Wells for the week so we visited a few local parks. Civic Center Park was close to our hotel and it was a great choice for a morning activity. The park itself is quite large so we drove around before finding the best place to park. If you park near the YMCA, it isn't too far from the playground area. There was a bathroom close to the playground structures, which is always helpful with kids. I also appreciated the shade for the playground structures. There was a play area for younger kids and more challenging climbing/slides for bigger kids. There is tons of space (huge lawn areas) for kids to run around and some nice paved paths for kids to ride bikes or scooters. There were a number of families when we visited but it wasn't too crowded and it felt very safe. 5 stars all the way!

Simply gorgeous park. Vast sports fields, meandering flat walking paths, lovely water features, areas to picnic, run a dog, the works. The city/private donors created a somber and tasteful Holocaust memorial worth taking in. A real oasis.

THURSDAYS ONLY! The snack bar is amazing!! I got a cheeseburger with grilled onions, cheese fries, and a drink for only $12 bucks!! The burger was delicious with the grilled onions, and the cheese fries was smothered with nacho cheese. Something like this you would pay over $20 at any restaurant. They also have BACON WRAP STREET DOGS for I think $4.00 and they are amazing. You would easily pay over $10 bucks at some hot dog stand for the same thing. On Thursdays this is the place to eat.

Wow! So neat and clean park. Beautiful lawn, fountain and lake! Much shadow so you'll have enough place to cool down

My husband and I went here for the Water Lantern Festival. Baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, and open fields. This is a nice spot for a picnic - if the weather permits. There's playground area available for children. There's also a dog park available. The ponds are also full of ducks and turtles.

A place for personal rejuvenation & perspective. An excellent green space for all ages & abilities.. Beautiful & easy to navigate walking paths. Very accessible & clean restrooms. Tennis courts, baseball fields, play equipment, picnic spots& clean, green fields of space. Thoughtful, poignant Holocaust Memorial capturing key locations, pivotal points & most importantly people- representative, & ties to the community. Definitely recommend a mindful stroll through the memorial- absorbing the plaques, stats & facts. Never, ever forget. It may be far away in your mind, in history, by miles- but contemplate all the Memorial represents.

I've lived coast to coast. New York to California and Florida to Seattle! This is my favorite place to come and just reflect. Sometimes I come in the middle of July and enjoy the heat of the desert. And Times like this past weekend is amazing to take the grand babes and enjoy the winter weather!! Enjoy and travel and LIVE without Fear!!

Best park in the area. Huge space! Tons of parking, and a fair amount of shaded parking. Gorgeous grassy, shaded areas throughout. I brought a blanket and sat under a tree with my little one for about an hour. Besides the lawnmowers going around, it was quiet peaceful. Nice kids playground and bonus- there are large and well maintained restrooms adjacent so the kids don't have to go far. Sidewalks will loop around the entire park. Lots of ducks to look at with the kiddos over in the lake. Though this means that the sidewalk there has some bird poop (not good for strollers) Overall, my favorite park in Palm Desert.

Beautiful park! I stopped here on a Palm Springs visit from LA and was very impressed. The park had ample parking and the lawns were beautifully kept. There was a path to walk around the park, a beautiful lake with fish and ducks and cool sculptures. There is a playground and lots of picnic tables too. I also explored the Holocaust Memorial and it was really well-done. Oh, and the bathrooms weren't too bad for park restrooms. I will definitely be back here to explore the park further on my next visit.

I fell in love.... at the park (and it was with the sunset) - follow me @thatgirluluv (Instagram)

I always kept this trail to , I'll eventually get around to it. Since my friend from out of town…read morecame I decided to take them on this hike because from what I read it was an incline all the way but fairly straightforward trail. Which it is. Another reason why it wasn't on the top of my list is because I figured it's a popular trail so there would be more people. Which there were but not overwhelming but you can tell this is a popular hike. Either way you will get a sweat and if you from out of town, this is definitely a hike to check out. Granted there are plenty of simple hikes like this with a good view of the valley but I say it definitely is a good one with a nice view and great to get blood flowing without killing you. If you aren't from the area. This should be one of those to check out and it's a quick hike depending on what shape you are in. You just need a water bottle and good workout shoes and you are good to go. Nothing crazy but a nice simple hike for a quick exercise outside of the gym.

The Trail to the Cross is an AOK hike; it's dog friendly, but it's not linked to the other trails…read morein the area. Tip: It's difficult to find dog-friendly hiking trails in the Palm Springs area, but this is a nice one :-) You'll get to enjoy some nice views of the valley when you hike here, though be careful - you'll be fully exposed to the desert sun and there isn't a whole lot of shade out here. Need less to say, where proper hiking shoes and bring along lots of water.
