The so called "repair man" showed up 7 hours late, was clearly unqualified and high as a kite. He watched You Tube videos to try to figure out the hot water heater, but accomplished nothing and left. I had Adobebucks person on the phone and handed the phone to her and said please tell the boss at Adobebucks what you just said about us checking in and leaving bags as we had a 5:00 rehearsal. It was difficult and they were not nice about it. Then, they preset the air conditioning to shut off at 11:00 PM and not turn on again until 7:00 AM and it was hot! Daughter had an asthma attack because of it but they could care less. It was all about the owners wanting to make more more money at our expense! I'd find someplace else if I were looking in St. Louis again. The rate was also twice as much as another 4 bedroom we rented a 1/2 block away for the wedding! No value, no decent check in, no air conditioning at night and no customer service, accomodation or even apology!

I used to be a maintenance supervisor over one of their properties and they start off letting you do good by helping as I was earning them five star reviews from the tenants who were management hurt due to poor management prior to me . The workload is extensive due to lack of proper management and they limit your spending because they're concerned about their bonuses at the end of the month so what maintenance needs can't be gotten because of corporate greed . They find a way to get you out of there when you do spend because they have already pre-spent their bonus money so they're counting on it and their bonus is far more important to them than their tenants because at the end of the day when they go home they don't have to look at their tenants . Once they lock you in to a lease you're in there and they don't care about you anymore because you're stuck and they know it . I'm telling you this from experience working with them because I tried to make it a better place for the tenants and a better place for the management normally my formula is a servant leader that provides great tenant retention as well as management satisfaction with my work but this only works when they allow it to . Money is more important to them than people just know that when you come here to look at these places when you look at all these reviews they're all true every one of them not only the ones here but the ones that are on Google those are all true and you can blame the office managers for that the district managers for that the corporate all the way up the ladder into Illinois red brick management is evil . Don't rent from any of these places they manage or you will be done the same way and they will just smile to your face and try to make you feel good about everything and then they will let you down and let you down hard .

Yet my family and i lived at station plaza apartments now for 5 years. I cant speak on my first year with this property because i signed an non disclosure agreement and they also got rid of the previous manager. Debbie Jackson is the current manager . First words she ever said to. me after i said Hi can i pay my bill with you , was " Im only here to collect checks put people out " Never once did she mention take care of the property or the people living there. Like a prison Warden. Since then this lady has tried to unlawfully put my family including kids /babies some time with 2 weeks warning . This time i was asked to leave against a Missouri law that states if a baby is born within a leasing period the 4 people to an apartment does not pertain to their situation. However we have not been spoke to about this or even told thanks for living in the community once. We dont want to live here and been looking for suitable homes . This lady has been trying to make my family homeless . Stressing our life out. Weve been going from packed to unpacked every year with babies in our house. We dont owe money and i have more stories to prove this company and this lady are both trash Trash BAGS. Yet i dont have time and energy for it . I dont want any other families moving in this place . The maintenance man sucks smokes weed on the property with other tenants. when ever he comes to your apartment its always an excuse why he cant do something or has to get you old ass dirty equipment from another apartment and bring it in yours. We were told we would have new carpet or carpet cleaned since someone lived on the same carpet before us for years and we lived there for years. They made simple excuses like your furniture would have to be moved . ( We own a moving Business) so this would be nothing. We were also told that other things would be done but they were not done. o manager also said due to having a baby and work orders not being done we have to be gone at end of our lease. Not to mention we are on a month to month Annual lease which i dont know how the hell thats legal . Please do not move to this property . This building should be removed from the area .

Unfortunately, my phone, car keys, laptop, and money were still in the loft. My son and I had to find a neighbor's phone to use to try to figure this out. I am not from St. Louis so I do not have anyone to aid or assist me at these times. The neighbor was able to find the after-hours maintenance line. During that call, we learned that the 24-hour maintenance service would not help the tenants and ensure their safety by unlocking the doors. Instead, we were instructed to call a locksmith. This policy has not been communicated to me as an member of the Bee Hat community. This is not in any contract. However, to ensure my 5-year-old son could sleep and eat appropriately I called a locksmith from my neighbor's phone. The locksmith couldn't unlock this specific door and stated he would have to drill a hole and basically break the lock or door to get us in. This expense was going to total over $250 to basically destroy the lock. However you aren't supposed to damage the door or locks and as a single mom, I was not going to pay the $250 anyways to break into my own place. This left my 5 year old son and I stranded during the night waiting for the leasing office to respond in the morning. Thankfully someone let us sleep until the morning. We then sat outside the leasing office this morning waiting for the property manager and leasing agent to show up. When you call the bee hat lofts phone line it states they are open from 9-6pm. However, 9am rolls around and no one is there. I had to find another neighbor and use their phone to try to text, call, and leave messages. After sitting outside my loft door, a maintenance guy who was going to tend another request thankfully opened my door. That was a blessing. I was frustrated, angered, teary, missing work and highly upset that I had to go through such a difficult experience. This is a horrible policy for those like me but I'm sure many leasing places may have this in place. This is my opinion and perspective as someone it greatly affected. This is not the first time that in a dire situation that my calls have gone unresponsive via phone. All I have received are emails or texts at which I am begging for a human interaction instead. Be leery in renting from this group!!! Beehat

Their offices are also around the corner from the lofts, which is really convenient if you need to pop in and talk to someone. I kow they made some management changes while I was there (which was about June 2015 - January 2018). Personally, I never had any overly negative experiences, and Angie and Dennis have been a pleasure to work with. I had to move for work rather suddenly and they were extremely understanding and let me keep my car in the garage for well after I moved, and were prompt with returning security deposits, etc. I can definitely recommend the Bee Hat location, Angie, and Dennis. I don't have any experience with the other locations.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!…read more This would be a 0-star review if it were possible, like many of the others here. We own rental properties in St. Louis that were being managed by BBW Homes until they sold to Poplar homes (we wrote a review for them as well) in Fall of 2023. Barb and Brad Westre were very good PMs to us for the first 2 years. They invited us to their home, made us feel welcome, etc. and seemed to be doing a good job with management. We've since learned otherwise on all of our rentals. They charged thousands more than their make-ready estimates and work order maintenance (which were handled by their own maintenance people). This is not uncommon, however, it is unethical with the amount of overbilling and when the charges are as they were and completely inappropriate. One example is that we were charged for many, many things that tenants should have been charged for. We don't even know if they charged the tenants and us as well because they claim not to have maintenance records that they SHOULD HAVE TRANSFERRED TO POPLAR HOMES but no one seems to have them. When they sold to Poplar Homes, they claimed that we still owed them thousands of dollars for these make ready and repair charges. Poplar home paid them out of our rents even after we instructed them not to. We don't have room to write all the stories but we will be contacting Elliot Davis of Fox2Now News to brief him on our story. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND all of you with these experiences to do the same with your local news channels. You should also leave 1-star reviews wherever you can, here, Google, Facebook, etc. We are looking for recommendations for an experienced, attorney who has success with class-action lawsuits in St Louis. These guys think they're too big to be stopped or at least do things equitably for tenants, particularly the elderly (the same as Poplar Homes), but nobody's bigger than all of us together. This review will be updated as we move through our experience with them, stay tuned. There will be more to come....

I would hate to work for a dishonest company. We are so out of there once his lease is up.
