Typical quality of the whole apartment. Mice easily walked in and out.

I'm just getting around to realizing Red Brick Management responded to my review, apparently I'm a little less petty about the situation...but since the response is there....I have photos timestamped from the day I moved out that prove the door lock was still broken and the light you're referring to still wasn't fixed. 100% photo-documented. It's a little ridiculous to have to fight management especially when they consistently insist to know more about building codes and construction when you're an architect with two masters degrees in the construction industr

This dog pee lake in the middle of the common area was here for over three weeks, despite telling management several times.

We moved into Laclede Lofts, a brand new property of Redbrick, despite reading a whole lot of terrible reviews online about Redbrick STL. We figured that because it was a new property and they had just invested in renovations, new appliances and new landscaping, that we may not actually need to depend on them for much. We were wrong. Right after we signed our lease and paid our first month's rent, we were called and told not to move in for a few more hours as they had forgotten to clean our unit- despite knowing for over a month that we would be moving in that day. When we were finally able to move in three hours later, the air conditioning was not working. A Redbrick employee who happened to be in the building confirmed that it was actually the case for multiple units. Many of the finishes were damaged upon installation. We took pictures and documented it with our move-in paperwork. They did not fix a single thing. Our brand new washer regularly malfunctioned. They could have replaced it but did not. The building was always dirty (I think someone came out to clean on six or seven occasions, at best, in over a year.) The property rarely has dog poop bags and they allow the grass to grow far too long- a real treat for dog owner's who need to take their dogs to go to the bathroom. There is an alarm box (I guess for the garage door) that goes off VERY regularly, often for many hours or even days. This is not a rare problem, but almost weekly. We lived by the main entrance and had to move out bedroom furniture to our living room. Yet the alarm still regularly goes for 8 or 12 hours, at least two or three times per month. The "secure" doors are left open very regularly. The front doors don't close by themselves and the "locked" magnetic gate rarely catches to stay closed. On several occasions, homeless people hung out in the front entrance area or on the front stairs. On one occasion, I walked out of my loft to find someone was sleeping on the couch in the resident lounge area. All of this is well-documented through photos of garbage, broken glass, dog waste, damaged property. They DO NOT CARE. They will promise over and over again to remedy the situation, but they do not. Customer service ends when you sign your lease. Take my word, you do NOT want to rent from them.

I have been a tenant at these Hazlewood apartments called Chezpareeapts for about 6+ years now. This company called Rebdrick took over sometime ago not really sure the year or date but it's been at least a year. Since they have taken over its been one problem after the next. I have been in my unit as I stated at beginning of this post for awhile and I understand there will be wear and tear after awhile but the way reb brick is treating me as a tenant is disrespectful and unsafe. Currently I was left over the holiday weekend with no hot water running from my bathroom sink and a stove that caught fire for the second time this past Fri morning. I was told by the property manager my stove would be replaced by the end of that business day and that my sink would be fixed. Neither happened and I was left with no stove to safely cook on for 3 days and not hot water in my sink to wash my hands or face. Instead of the management team calling me to inform me of why my stove was not replaced the maintenance supervisor told my mother who is currently visiting with me that the property doesn't have a stove to give me and that because it's late in the day they could not fix my sink. Excuses is what I get any time there is a maintenance issues. Red brick knew wed 4/5/23 that after they put the sink back in that day there was no running hot water as well as my toilet had no running water. And as for my toilet not running... well last tues red brick began working on the repairs in my bathroom that was originally reported last year 2022. After making several in person reports, portal reports, emails and major break downs the maintence manager (Herman) told me he would do ME a favor a try to get my bathroom fixed. I thought maintenence was part of my lease and not a personal favor??? They started with removing my toilet, sink, floor (including the concret below the tile), my bathroom door and the floor in my bathroom closet. The next day they pulled the floor they had just laid up as well as removed my sink and toilet again. They left my bathroom floor unfinished and the floor was just the wood and nails that they left laying around for me to step on. The toilet they sealed back down on Wed had no running water and my sink had no running water at ALL. The contractors they used used my personal towels to wipe up messes but didn't ask for permission and when I confronted them about it in front of the maintence manager they lied and said it was not mines. I showed the maintence manager the remaining set so he could see the men were lying. My towels have not been replaced. They used my shoes as door stops for keeping the apartment door open and besides the nails they left laying g around on the floor there was dust from them sawing inside my home everywhere including in my kitchen. That thurs they decided to take a break and not fix anything so at this point I still have no running hot water in my sink and my floors are still unfinished. Fri my stove caught fire while I was cooking breakfast and I had to call the fire department. After the fire men left I went to the apartment leasing office to report the issue and spoke with the property manager for a lengthy time. She assured me things would be all handled by the end of business day that day (fri.) I also informed her that due to the dust all throughout the apartment it was effecting my health. I sleep with a cpap at night and woke up fri morning with a nose bleed and inflammation in my sinus. I told them my apartment is unsafe and due to their negligence is now effecting my health. By the end of that fri the cheap tile (feels like sandpaper) was installed by a nice contractor who respected my space (home) and cleaned up after himself and a 2 man cleaning crew came through and sanitized my bathroom (from the saw dust left behind) and nothing else. Remember I said I had saw dust in my kitchen as thou the contractors had been using my kitchen to saw the wood they put on my floor. Well I'm tired of typing now so I'm just going to end my rant and say don't move into a Red Brick property if you are looking for a safe and comfortable space. I have more to this story/complaint but I think what I have typed and the pictured I will try to upload pictures to show how Red Brick treats tenant's here!

    Maintenance "solutions"

Mold. Leaking A/C units above my apartment. Trash piles up and trash pick up is hit or miss. Too many things wrong with this company. High turnover rate with management. None of the departments communicate with the others. Maintenance is slow because they are understaffed. Too many issues to explain so here are some photos

You can park your car in a garage for $85 per month that is dirtier than outside

Do NOT rent from Red Brick!!!!! EVER!!!! Don't let them fool you, they are the worst property management company ever!

This is how dark my bedroom is! This is not a mistake, this is correct. Almost one month of complete darkness. Ridiculous!
    Kimberly L.

The absolute worst management and I'm not even sure they have a maintenance department! Do not rent with them, you will regret it. If I only would have listened to my friend. If zero stars were possible to give I would. The apartments provided washing machine leaked and ruined the baseboard in a brand new loft over 6 months ago and no one has been out to see them or replace them after many requests for maintenance. Now, to the next issue of my bedroom light will be out for one month on 11/14 and no one has been out to change it. It is in a loft otherwise I would have changed it myself! I have called, emailed, left maintenance requests almost daily, and even went to their place of business and NOTHING! You may think that the light is not that big of a deal, however my apartment is pitch black. I am paying 1k a month to use my cell phone camera and candles to navigate through my apartment. On multiple occasion the emails and phone calls tell me they are on the way to fix it. Still operation black out at Laclede Lofts!

The perfect unit for me and my catson!

The apartment is in an exceptional neighborhood, with easy access to Forest Park via the beautiful Wydown corridor as well as a close walk to restaurants, cleaners and a Starbucks. The folks in the neighborhood significantly enhanced the community feel with friendly reach outs while walking their dogs or just strolling in the tree lined streets. Also, as a frequent traveler, I was very pleased with the easy access to the airport from it quaint Clayton location. I found the Landlord Larry to be quite attentive to the lease holder needs and always concerned about the well being of the property, both in and around the the apartments. Any repairs or needs were promptly addressed. He even added items (e.g. power outlets and bike racks) without requests, just because he saw the needs of his tenants. The building has a wonderful Tudor exterior with six apartments. It also has easy access to the upper floors by a an elevator, but also has a period staircase that complements the Tudor architecture. I found the community rooftop very peaceful and inviting. The all granite counter tops in the kitchen and bathrooms, the beautiful stone showers along with high end appliances also added to the luxury feel of the apartment and complex. Oxford manor was perfect for me, and I couldn't have been more pleased with my time there and the support of the landlord and his commitment to the comfort of the tenants and the care taking of the apartments. Highly recommend.

We moved across the country on June 4, six weeks after reporting the issue, and the gas leak was still ongoing. A contractor later told us the levels were severe enough that we were fortunate a major incident had not occurred. The owner's contractor also improperly replaced the gas line with an undersized one, according to Spire, and I was the person contacting Spire throughout the process. They let me know that the pipe the contractor replaced was 1/4th inch too small and could lead to carbon monoxide or gas buildup in the lines. During the nine months we lived there, two additional gas leaks occurred in other areas of the system. After spending over $10,000 to move and paying rent for May while the house sat vacant, Stephanie Olsen told me over the phone that "this isn't working out" and that we would need to find another place if we continued being "ungrateful." We ultimately moved out early after 10 months, and paid April 2026 rent while the property was vacant and we were in a new rental. The house itself had numerous issues: filthy vents filled with years of dust and mold, insect infestations (basement had roaches, beetles and grasshoppers) requiring extermination, and a failing sump pump system with drain flies that contributed to a very strong basement odor. The home was at times uninhabitable due to the gas smell, causing headaches and dizziness for both me and my Mom, and we paid out of pocket for hotel stays. This experience was emotionally and financially exhausting. After being threatened with eviction, do you really think I felt comfortable reporting every issue with the house? Of course not. So we financially covered multiple issues due to fear of retaliation.

We went on to have 2 more gas leaks in the 9 months we lived in this home . At other areas of the gas system. Stephanie Olsen definitely threatened to let me out of my lease in June when we spoke on the phone after I had just spent $8,000 dollars and payed rent for May( while the house was vacant). And no one would be happy with this situation. We left early and payed for April of this year while the house was vacant. This company and the homes owner were awful. Stephanie literally screamed at me and threatened to evict me on the phone until I was in tears. The house was literally inhabitable due to the extremely strong smell of gas, which was causing headaches and dizziness for me and my son. We paid to stay in a hotel. The vents were filthy with dust and mold that had not been cleaned for years. We had to pay for an exterminator due to a hornet and grasshopper infestation, a plumber for a failing sump pit motor infested with drain flies / worms, which also contributed to the basement odor. The list goes on but my point is - this was a nightmare both emotionally and financially for us. Our reply to Brandon's Complaint is as follows: Date:…read more August 12, 2020 From: Mark Westlock, Managing-Member, Meramec Valley Properties management ("MPVm") Subject: Brandon, Michael ("Brandon") This is a response to the complaint made against MVPm by Brandon. I intentionally waited 11 months to reply in order that MVPm could evaluate feedback from prospective clients, past tenants or communication from municipalities that Brandon's properties reside at that could still be sending notices to MVPm pertaining to Brandon's properties. These findings will be discussed later in this letter. To those reading this reply, first and foremost, let it be known that Brandon attempted to extort MVPm for $25,000 - yes we have this in writing and yes this is a felony under the Missouri State Law - or he would write disparaging remarks about myself, MVPm and related company's services. MVPm provided Brandon with many property management services to assist him in breathing life back into his failing investment portfolio. Under the terms of the agreement between MVPm and Brandon's companies, MVPm could use the funds it was holding for Brandon to reinvest into the portfolio. Given the sheer volume of repairs and that needed to be made to Brandon's portfolio (most of which was in a serious state of disrepair), there was simply never enough money available to make all the repairs in the time desired by Brandon. In addition to the repairs, MVPm was also using the funds it held on behalf of Brandon to pay back taxes on properties in the portfolio. Some properties were at risk of going to tax sale because of this issue and the back taxes were preventing some municipalities from issuing Occupancy Permits for the properties. The lack of funds coupled with the fact that Brandon was often requesting that MVPm take actions that were illegal, such as placing tenants in properties that did not have occupancy permits, requesting MVPm to complete work without required permits, lead to frustration on all sides. Despite Brandon's frustration with MVPm on occasion, he also made many comments indicating that he was satisfied with the service MVPm provided over the course of this business relationship. Background In December of 2017, Brandon was referred to MVPm for property management services by a past client. Brandon had an investment property portfolio was failing. He reportedly acquired these properties in a "package" and he never had professional property inspection reports performed during the purchase. In other words, he purchased his properties, "site unseen". Most of his properties were located in the North County areas of St. Louis, and he was desperately trying to find a new Property Manager ("PM") - reportedly his 5th in 4 years. When we first met, Brandon was very frustrated with the present PM. According to him, the PM he was using when we met was not following his directives with respect to demanding tenants pay for utilities on his properties and Brandon was incurring financial losses. After listening to Brandon's situation, I explained our present business structure (at that time the company was named "BLMW Management LLC dba Meramec Valley Properties management"), experience and dedication to our clients. I explained that like Brandon, I also own investment properties and that I treat clients' properties as I do mine to ensure the properties are safe, tenants are protected and federal/state/local laws pertaining to occupancy/housing are adhered to and that the lease is executed as written. In February of 2018, MVPm accepted PM services for Brandon by way of Property Management Agreements for his LLCs. During the first year of providing PM services, MVPm coordinated and executed a significant amount of activities to benefit Brandon's properties. Some properties where in horrible disrepair requiring in some cases eight months of rent to turn the property sufficiently to pass inspection. In fact, one building had flooring that was so structurally unsafe that we had to request that the tenants vacate the property for their own safety. Problems such as compromised roofs, failed flooring, termite damage to foundations/flooring/decks, HVAC failures, electrical safety issues, structural damages, etc. were all too common. For instance, the very first property that Brandon told us was vacant and ready for market was anything but ready for market. Active termite infestation, damaged flooring, foundation leaks, etc. required the attention of our general contractor. We made the repairs, all of which were approved by Brandon, and obtained the required Occupancy Permits (all the while pleading with the inspector on Brandon's behalf to not force a repaving of the driveway - saving Brandon thousands of dollars). Shortly into our contractual relationship, we discovered that Brandon was behind on St. Louis County property taxes - on some propert

No value, no decent check in, no air conditioning at night and no customer service, accomodation or even apology!

I have a slum lord in south Saint Louis who did not take care of anything on his property premises…read morewhile we were there front door on one hinge no windows in apartment closed etc... Yet my family and i lived at station plaza apartments now for 5 years. I cant speak on my first year with this property because i signed an non disclosure agreement and they also got rid of the previous manager. Debbie Jackson is the current manager . First words she ever said to. me after i said Hi can i pay my bill with you , was " Im only here to collect checks put people out " Never once did she mention take care of the property or the people living there. Like a prison Warden. Since then this lady has tried to unlawfully put my family including kids /babies some time with 2 weeks warning . This time i was asked to leave against a Missouri law that states if a baby is born within a leasing period the 4 people to an apartment does not pertain to their situation. However we have not been spoke to about this or even told thanks for living in the community once. We dont want to live here and been looking for suitable homes . This lady has been trying to make my family homeless . Stressing our life out. Weve been going from packed to unpacked every year with babies in our house. We dont owe money and i have more stories to prove this company and this lady are both trash Trash BAGS. Yet i dont have time and energy for it . I dont want any other families moving in this place . The maintenance man sucks smokes weed on the property with other tenants. when ever he comes to your apartment its always an excuse why he cant do something or has to get you old ass dirty equipment from another apartment and bring it in yours. We were told we would have new carpet or carpet cleaned since someone lived on the same carpet before us for years and we lived there for years. They made simple excuses like your furniture would have to be moved . ( We own a moving Business) so this would be nothing. We were also told that other things would be done but they were not done. o manager also said due to having a baby and work orders not being done we have to be gone at end of our lease. Not to mention we are on a month to month Annual lease which i dont know how the hell thats legal . Please do not move to this property . This building should be removed from the area .

Is a clown show. Have lived @ 915 Olive St for ~7 years now. There was a fire on the public roof…read moreabove my unit back in November of 2023. Here we are in August of 2024 and still dont' have a permanent or water proof rooftop in place. Rodemyer-Christel was given money by the insurance company to demo my unit and remove impacted ceilings/flooring/drywall back in December of 2023. They never used it and never did any remediation or removal to prevent mold growth/spread. Now, as I am removing the flooring/drywall myself, we're finding a lot of mold. Go figure! Jill Belsky - the owner of RCI - has fought me tooth and nail for every bit of progress in my unit, relocation for my while the unit is not inhabitable, all while being wholly incapable of getting a waterproof/permanent rooftop on the building after 8.5 months. Not to mention, I overpaid my December HOAs following the fire. Jill unlawfully held the money never returning it to me, told me it would be credited to my account to offset future fees, and then had the audacity to then send me late notices and harass me for payment after never applying the credit.
