In addition to…read morethe rear axle work I had done there that failed multiple times (which I've written a review on) , I just had more rework done. Although this time I brought it to a reputable shop to have the work done as: 1. Bernings doesn't honor their work, no warranty. 2. I didn't want to go through the same issue I had with the rear axle, paying for repairs and then repeated failures. 3. I' wanted the work done right. The universal joint that was replaced at Bernings turned out to be the incorrect part which then of course failed. In addition, the tie rod end I had replaced at Bernings also failed. As I stated in my previous review, the technicians (I'm using this term very loosely with these clowns) have no clue what they're doing. And the owner, your typical con man. So be warned, stay away from Bernings.

We were very fortunate to avoid a collision, and we also were fortunate that Superior Brake was there to help. The incident occurred late in the day, so they stored the truck inside over night and fixed it the next day -- for a price that I consider fair. People were nice to our face but found out they're like so many other auto shops. They tell you…read morethings are wrong with your car when in fact your car is fine. We didn't ask them to check any of the front end parts but supposedly they did and told us the tie rod ends were bad because the boots were torn. To fix them would add another $700 to the bill. I told them no and immediately took the car to another shop for verification. There was nothing wrong with the tie rod ends and there weren't any torn boots. St. Michael Car Care Center was simply trying to screw us over for several hundred dollars of un-needed repairs.
