In October, I went to CJ Dental in Vista, CA for a second opinion. Without taking X-rays or obtaining proper consent, the dentist extracted two teeth and placed two unusual implants that no other dentist I've consulted has used. No CBCT (3D) scan or other measurements were taken to ensure correct implant sizing or placement. The implants punctured my sinus cavity, and I have suffered monthly sinus infections since the procedure. The crowns were improperly attached (glued below the post), and I have since experienced bone loss and gum recession. I have consulted multiple specialists over the past year, and they have confirmed the implants were improperly placed and cannot be removed without serious risk, including removing part of my sinus. The dentist ignored my email requesting help, refused to offer a refund, and has shown no accountability. Other patients I know have also reported harm from this dentist, and he appears to have high staff turnover. I have lived in constant pain since the procedure. You wont get much help filing a complaint, but don't give up. read more

RUN!!! AVOID!!! This quack told me he had eradicated the gum disease through laser treatments, and to keep aloe vera on my gums. Shortly thereafter, I started experiencing similar issues again and sought out a second opinion. The appointment revealed the gum disease was completely out of control and there was no way to save the area that had been "cured" by the Quack . The roots and surrounding gum tissue needed STAT attention. I had to have four lower teeth pulled, and a bridge installed. $4000 worth of work!! Do yourself a favor go see somebody else ! read more

My son went tbere last year and had a mouth piece made that has never properly fit. I also went for a consultation but never went back. Yesterday I received 5 texts and 4 phone calls in an hour and a half from their "sales team". I never responded to any of then. It's 7:30 am and I just got another text. They are not even open yet and their sales person is texting me. When I had my consultation after the dental part you sit down with a sales person. If felt like when you buy a car. It was so strange. And they push you to sign a contract which I absolutely didn't. After all the calls and texts yesterday from the same person he is obviously getting commission if he signs me up. I do not have any negative things to say about this clinic or anyone working here, from my first visit to my fitting of my implant everything was absolutely wonderful. It is very wild The prices that Dentist want for implants and I thought that CJ dental's price was way too good to be true but here I am about nine months after I started, with my implant in for about 3 months with no issues (I had an x-ray with my primary Dentist to check the implant and it was beautiful) Honestly look no further, I absolutely hate going to the dentist but this was the best dentistry atmosphere ever. DR. CARLOS, the owner of this practice , is a nice man, however I do not recommend. His work is not lasting and quality is lacking. I wasted a lot of time and money on impants that failed repeatedly. I drove a long way to see him because his prices are good but I did not have a good result. His implants failed , 2 of them literally fell out and 3 others came loose and needed tightening. Numerous issues have resulted from his work. His wife worked there on and off and she did a good job running the office but the rest of his staff turns over often. Since going to him for a couple years, my bite has gotten extremely off. I now have constant jaw pain and chewing issues. When I first consulted with CJ Dental , I was missing one tooth. Now I am missing several. After a subsequent consultation I was told several teeth he crowned were not sealed properly and they need to be replaced. 2 other dentists have advised me start over and remove the crowns he did. He also double charged me in an incident that was never credited to me. He was made aware of this and so was his front desk on several occasions yet no credit was issued. I went through nearly three years of back-and-forth treatment for three dental implants with this dentist, and unfortunately, it turned into a very difficult and painful experience. The work was poorly done and led to ongoing complications, including infections. Each time I raised concerns, I was told it was "my body," even though I had previous implant work done elsewhere without any issues. The implants had to be removed and reinserted multiple times, causing unnecessary pain and stress. Eventually, I sought help from another dentist, who clearly identified several problems with the original work. I had to pay significant out-of-pocket costs to fix the damage and redo the implants properly--far more than what it would have cost to go to a qualified and experienced dentist from the beginning. When I asked for a refund, the situation became very stressful. There were even instances where his wife threatened to call the police simply because I was requesting my money back. After persistent follow-up, I did receive a partial refund, but it did not come close to covering the full cost of correcting the mistakes. In my experience, there also seemed to be frequent turnover among front office staff, and I did not feel treated with professionalism or respect throughout the process. I understand the dentist has since moved his practice to San Marcos and is working with other dentists, but based on my experience, the quality of care and treatment was deeply concerning. Whatever you do, do not go here. I went years ago due to having no insurance and limited newlywed income. For starters, I had wisdom tooth pulled while awake and "numbed" but felt a lot of the pain and secondly what really brings me here is my implant. DR CJ did my implant. I told him it feels loose and wiggly. He said, oh you want it to fit that way so it can breath. I just saw my now amazing dentist at vista modern and the whole staff couldn't believe any licensed dentist would say this. It wiggles and leaves room for bacteria and infection. I'm having to redo the implant. I truly think they should have to pay for the redo. The annoying thing is the front desk/ staff themselves were always nice to chat with. Which makes me think they either knowingly took advantage of patients who don't know any better or they really don't know what they are doing. I really love Vista Modern dentistry. After months of looking for an affordable dental doctor to do some cosmetic work found out CJ dental in vista Ca, went to my appointment the gentleman at the front desk very professional greeted me, couldn't help myself looking at his burgandy-bluish color covered with white flaked dandruff around his neck, he hat was shocking for me, but very professional at what he does, then the office it's a old building with a mini split on top of the wall, very old style not vintage, meet a few assistants very well managed and very professional as well and every one was talking different prices, finally went to the room to see Dr CJ talked to him briefly decided to think about the procedure I want to do, after reading all the bad reviews I am very concerned about it. Avoid this dentist !!! Three years ago, I was shopping for a good price on a dental implant. I did not have 4500 dollars and found Doctor Sibaja who told me he could do the implant at less than half of that cost by skipping the bone build up procedure. Other dentists told me that was required but I trusted Doctor Sibaja. He told me that the implant would hold securely. My regular dentist then saw the work that Sibaja had done and told me that it was faulty. I returned to his Encinitas office and he once again assured me that the implant would be fine and that removing it would be a mistake. I am now looking at thousands of dollars in damage from his faulty work. The implant has caused serious bone loss to an adjacent tooth. I will need a specialist to fix this mess. I cannot say enough about this dental place. The dentist is exceptional and has an amazing bed side manner. I have always taken excellent care of my teeth! During a long Covid illness and a stroke I lost two teeth one you can see when I laugh half way to the back of my mouth and the other is not noticeable but hard to eat with. I had gone to another Dental group for a $50 cleaning and X-rays. They charge $5 thousand for one implant and they do no financing. So I heard of CJ Dental and they were so nice on the phone I went for a free consultation. They only charge $1700 a tooth and offer financing but we decided rather to pay cash today. Cause with financing we would have down easily but at the end of it you get charged $700 in interest. I love the dentist and his fiancé staff Lily and Michael went over all of our choices! The dress and look so professional and the two front desk clerks and dental hygienists are so nice and professional!!! Refreshing in this day and age! They were professional, helpful, and we could see that they truly wanted to give her the smile she had been waiting for. They scheduled her for her appointment within a week. I would not recommend this dental clinic. The dentist removed a tooth and immediately put the post in the bone of my jaw. My body rejected the post and the dentist removed it after months. Aaron got up into my nasal cavity and I got an infection. The dentist prescribed an antibiotic's. I had to go to my own personal care provider to get help. When I told the dentist about me going to my personal care provider his attitude immediately change to scary. It felt like I was in an abusive atmosphere. Don't go to this place. If it is for wisdom tooth extraction find a different place. They don't accept insurance and expect you to pay for everything out of pocket. When I called they said insurance will cover it then when I was in the office they said they don't take any kind of insurance. They want you to purchase a plan that's $300 that makes no sense. At first I was told it was $125 per tooth extraction then was told a couple minutes later that it's $350 per tooth. Expected me to pay $650+ out of pocket the same day. No payment plan, just upfront. SO disappointed in how things have turned out with this office. Have never been treated so poorly. This office was recommended by a trusted friend...and I had HIGH hopes that I had found a place I could go with all my dental needs. I even referred many people to this office. WHAT A MISTAKE! BEWARE of their billing. They say one thing and then change it after the work is done. DO NOT PRE-PAY for ANYTHING!!! Dr. Sabaja is charming...but then doesn't remember what he says. I thought HE WOULD be the one doing all my work. NOPE...He only did my two teeth extractions and didn't even fit the mold for the snap on smile he talked me into getting. His assistant did that and of course when they arrived...they didn't fit properly. I spent a few THOUSAND on my teeth, two extractions later...I have a set of snap on teeth I can't use...AND I'm having additional pain in two other teeth that supposedly had new fillings done. I know my teeth were in bad shape and the other dentist did the replacing of all my fillings and the deep cleaning. The other dentist also did a crown...not Dr. Sabaja. Deceptive all the way around. On the 1st visit I had a tooth extracted...and after filling out the paperwork of which I listed I was allergic to Penicillin...was GIVEN Penicillin. Why did I even fill out the form if nobody was reading it. Thankfully I read the prescription prior to having it filled. Then They say their open Monday thru Friday...NOT SO! Monday, Wed. and Friday. Yet you MUST give them 24 hour cancellation notice or they'll charge you. I had to call again and again to reach them on the phone. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!! When I set an email instead...the owners wife leaved me a LONG WINDED message...basically reprimanding me for sending an email??? Again...so unprofessional!!! I plan on reporting my experience to the Dental Board of California not to mention seeing CJ DENTAL in court! As you might note...all the positive reviews were a few years ago. I think this place is a rip-off. They make you join their "Club" to get better prices??? It's turned out to be a HORRIBLE experience for me. Dr. Sibaja recommended Botox injections in my jaw muscles to help alleviate clenching and grinding that was causing me headaches. I have a night guard I wear to protect my teeth at night, but that doesn't stop the morning headaches, plus I clench during the daytime while stressed. I was afraid at first - I have had Botox for years in my brow, and was worried my jaw wouldn't move if I did it. He was reassuring and I tried it. It changed my life!! It was painless (where as brow injections hurt!), and I saw no weakening of my jaw, just significantly less clenching. Headaches disappeared, and I no longer needed my night guard, so I sleep better. It wore off in about 5-6 months so I just scheduled to have it done again.This dentist is very knowledgable and skilled. I had two implants done by a fabulous dentist in T J Mexico. I told Carlos this and asked if he could finish them because I didn't want to return to Tj. because of Personal problems. He assured me he could finish off the two implants no problem. His advertisement even states "Don't go to TJ come to CJ Dental". Be careful very careful out there folks: He tried 3 times to put my rear molar crown on.. I am not kidding . He sent my molding to his lab three times and finally gave up stating I cannot finish the work i cannot fit the crown on. OK here's the next problem. When he placed a crown on my front tooth. It came off the same day. I had to return 4 hours later. After freaking out he claimed he would put it on with permanent cement this time. I'm not kidding I yelled what the heck. Why didn't you place the crown on the first time permanently. OK check this out. After he put the tooth back on the same tooth broke in half. I swear one week later. I spent hours and days at his office while he tried countless times trying too put crowns on. I tried to save some money silly me. The stress this man caused me is ridiculous. The aggravation this man caused me. I was foolish I must admit. I tried to save some money and got totality burned. I don't know if he sterilizes his equipment. SERIOUSLY!!! My experience CJ dental has always been exceptional. He went above and beyond to help me out with the tooth problem I was having. He removed the root of a decayed broken off tooth put in a ceramic implant. Removed with a laser a bump on roof of mouth all without pain. No pain in the next days ( I expected pain ) only a little irritation from bump removal and removal of the broken root. I took ibuprofen only that evening every thing very good I'm very pleased with the work and the extra effort, very happy. Thank you all for making me feel like you all care. I got treated with such disrespect the lousiest customer service I've ever experienced and the dental work done on me was terrible. It's been about six months since all this happened and I've had to get all the work redone by a different dental practice in San Diego. I had two implants installed they both broke I was such in pain and I couldn't get an appointment with them, that I had to pull them out myself. When I did finally get the appointment they refused to fix it under their supposedly guarantee and the worst thing about it is I had already paid in full. I was really mad really upset that I could let this go!! What motivated me to put this post is now I've gone to a different dentist and I saw the difference since the first day on how a customer should be treated!!
