Absolutely loved CJ's! We picked up a half dozen & some coffee. The barista was wonderful, even brought water outside for our dog. The donuts were delicious & the coffee rolls even count in the box count. The sour cream donut & maple frosted coffee roll was our favorites! This coffee place is definitely not your aesthetic , over priced typical coffee shop... rather, it is your everyday rural suburban coffee place. However it still disappoints. I don't expect them to have traits free options because of the vibe they give, but still would've been nice to be able to get coffee with dairy free milk instead of having to settle with iced tea (weirdly served in a hot cup) Their donuts however are very good and they have a great amount of options and everything is at a great price. Donuts are delicious, customer service however, definitely needs improvement. The flavor of the donuts are worth putting yourself through the bad customer service experience. My encounter was with an older woman, not very friendly. When I told her it was my first time going there and asked what flavors she recommended she replied she didn't like donuts. We have lived in the area for 9 months and didn't really pay much attention to this place until I met 'Gary' (nickname) and she told me about the best donuts in town. The blueberry doughnut actually tasted like blueberry instead of a fatty pile of sugar. The chocolate donuts, likewise, we're not too sweet. We bought an assortment of 18 to share and enjoy amongst our group. I did try their cappuccino once and was not a fan as it was lacking flavor and not hot enough. Donuts and coffee are amazing! As far as service goes, the older lady has an attitude towards us for no reason and doesn't even great us well. Everyone else that comes in gets greeted fairly. We might ask for her schedule so we dont cone in when shes working. The younger lady that works there is really nice and is happy to brew us the coffee that is on the menu with no excuses. The donuts are great!!! I have been there a few times and today for the first time there was a new girl which may not be new but it's the first time I saw her. While working a 6AM-7PM shift at a Benton Township voting site, election judges determined by individual taste test, that CJ's Donuts of Zion was far superior to Dunkin' Donuts. As we arrived at 5:15AM to set up, we were informed that someone had donated 2 dozen assorted Dunkin' Donuts. There were good. However, at 9AM, we were informed that someone donated a couple dozen donuts from CJ's. I had oft felt that the local brand, CJ's was superior, but this was the first time I had direct taste comparison. Lighter , better flavor of the dough, better flavor l of the fillings and more of them. Dunkin's fillings just tasted sweet and lacked any discernible real flavor. At the end of the day, all the CJ's had been eaten and there were still 6 of the Dunkin' Donuts left. read more
