My second time here and so pleased with it. I got the Lad Nar without really reading what it was based on a recommendation. It was saucier and with less noodles than I am accustomed to with a decent amount of veggies. I ordered it spicy and the first bite made me cough lol. I got what I asked for. I'll try the medium next time but I made my way through the entire dish, sauce and all and it was delicious. The spring rolls left something to be desired. It was still a tasty option with the condiment provided. The spring roll on its own would have been too bland for me without the sauce. I would order it again though as a nice vegetarian option with it only having cabbage. I definitely look forward to the next visit and further making my way through their delicious menu. Classic long time local favorite in Zion for home style cooking. It also strangely includes Thai food. N And T's is a basic looking small town diner kind of place. Has the group of long time locals complaining about crap like most of these places do. The prices are pretty good on most things. A pretty classic old style looking type of diner. It has seats around the middle area, plus the booths and tables. They have breakfast and lunch menus, and there's quite a lot to choose from whichever. Besides the American food, they also have Thai food. The bad thing is it's not really authentic though. Lacks spices. These items have been Americanized for boring palates unfortunately. It's about $12 for an entree. These come with a protein choice such as beef, chicken, or tofu. For sure these aren't authentic. The first one we got was very bland, so instead we got the Pad Thai. Much better. The spicier the better it seems. Go here if wanting a classic diner experience. It's unique in that it also has Thai food. These may not be authentic, but at least there's some choices for vegetarians. read more

N & T's caters to a certain type of clientele and iit was not for me. I've passed by this place numerous times and thought hmm maybe I should go in. It has an old feel to it even with all the old school decorations and how it is set up. It's an American and Thai diner. But I will say skip the Thai if you're looking for authentic flavors. Our server was very friendly and attentive she made some recommendations and we got a few of the things she mentioned. We had the fish tacos, Pena curry, spring rolls, and Thai Tea. The spring rolls to start were mushy and greasy. Couldn't get through them. The thai tea lacked flavor. Like I said the Thai portion of the menu just avoid. If you're in the mood for some actual Thai food this isn't the place. It's a local hangout and there are lots of regulars that come in that seem to enjoy the place. The pros: Great staff, ambiance, and atmosphere. The people are friendly. The decor made me chuckle (see picture). It's what you expect from a small town diner. The cons (if you can call it that): The food is just okay. I ordered Thai drunken noodles. They weren't bad; they just weren't my favorite. I guess you maybe don't order Thai at a diner, so lesson learned. We left with a smile; again, very kind people, but just a so-so place for out-of-town diners. read more

N & T's is a classic American diner, they have your normal American lunch dinner and breakfast foods, and on the back of the menu they have a Thai section. I don't recommend the Thai food as it just isn't the same as an authentic Thai dish but the regular American menu is good. There is a huge variety of food, I'd recommend if you're in the area - reasonably priced as well. read more

This little restaurant is a local hangout and the people are very friendly. We happened to ask the waitress for directions and random locals jumped in to give us more information. As for the food, we came here as our friends from the area stated that there was something for everyone at this place. They were right, as this restaurant offers Thai and American cuisine. We dined here twice during our visit. On the first night, we had the 4 piece fried chicken with fries topped with turkey gravy and vegetables. I am not fond of French fries, but decided to order it as everyone recommended it. I'm not sure why I haven't tried topping fries with turkey gravy in the past, but these were phenomenal! In fact, this is the only item I finished completely. The fried chicken was surely made from scratch, was lightly seasoned, not salty at all, and was surely the "cleanest" fried chicken I've had! On the second day, we stopped by for breakfast. I had the potato pancakes with a side of spicy hot sausage. My lady had the Thai omelette. My potato pancakes were made from scratch and nothing like the dry pre-made patties I've had in the past. The spicy hot sausage was the best I've had in a while. The Thai omlette was delicious! As much as I loved my breakfast, I wish I had ordered the omelette as well, even though I don't have the capacity to eat that much food. The prices for this place are pretty good! I would highly recommend taking a road trip to visit this place, and then drive 5 miles north to visit Wisconsin. read more

Awesome fast and friendly service with a delicious Sunday breakfast buffet for only $9.95! I'm not sure about others' experiences, but I've been here twice now on Sundays for the buffet and each time our service has been quick and the staff have been very nice. I honestly can't say too much about the food on the menu as I've only come for the brunch buffet, but the brunch is totally worth it! It's a small, one line buffet, but they sure do pack a lot in there. They've had scrambled eggs, skillet, various sausages, biscuits and gravy (some of the best I've had), pancakes, french toast, various forms of potatoes (hash, home fries), donut holes, pastries, and fruit salad. Oh and bacon, how could I forget the bacon. The food is good and they are very good about keeping everything well stocked. The first time coming here, our waitress mentioned the Thai Buffet which they have every first Thursday of the month. I believe it costs $14.95, she said they do authentic Thai cuisine and the buffet includes Thai desserts. I will be trying it hopefully soon with an updated review :D read more

We really wanted to like this place but we're so disappointed. The waitress was good. She was friendly & pleasant. Soup & salad was very good. Meatloaf, not so much. I doubt there was any ground beef or onions etc in it. Seemed like a type of pressed loaf. Mashed potatoes were instant, yuck! Good veggies. We sat for at least 10 min or more after the soup & salad were eaten before the dinners came out. I feel I'm generous giving 3 stars. That's only because of the positives I mentioned. What a pleasant surprise this was. Located at a spot where other restaurants have come and gone is this delightfully warm and inviting spot. We visited for breakfast on a weekday midmorning. A couple of omelettes (Denver and Meat Lovers) and cups of coffee were our order. The coffee was ok. That being said our waitress never let our cups run empty. She was quick with a refill and a smile. The omelettes were both good and the ingredients tasted fresh. The Meat Lovers omlette did have more cheese than I've seen in most and was a little overpowering compared to the eggs. The hashbrowns were delicious and cooked perfectly. They had the light brown crisp on the top and nice fresh potato taste on the inside. Like they read my mind. The portions were a good amount with toast on the side. Overall we will check this place out again when we are around this way. After all, I hear they have a great Sunday breakfast bufffet.... read more

I have lived in the area for years and have driven by N and T's many times but never went in until last week. I was taking my father out to lunch at a sit down restaurant and wanted to stay local. I am so glad we decided to try this reataurant! The food is hands down some of the best I have ever tasted at a family restaurant. All food is prepared fresh and hot. My Dad thoroughly enjoyed his meal of a Patty Melt n Fries and I could not believe how delicious my omelet with mushrooms, spinach and swiss cheese. The mushrooms were fresh NOT canned, the cheese was REAL swiss cheese (not processed swiss cheese slices) and fresh spinach!! Yes, please! Believe me, Ive ordered omelettes at other restaurants where one, two or all three of those ingredients were not fresh which greatly affects the flavor profile. Also, while Im not an expert of Thai food, the table next to me and my daughter during my second visit in one week had ordered Thai soup. My goodness, the smells from the soup wafted our way and I could actually smell the freshness and spices. It smelt define. So, if you cannot tell by now, I highly recommend N and T Family Restaurant for their food, family/hometown atmosphere and excellent customer service. Keep it local folks! It is worth it. read more

Been trying out different Thai restaurants all over from Gurnee, North Chicago, Grayslake, Waukegan and now Zion. I'm from California so I'm used to many Asian foods. Came here to try out their Pad Thai and Thai Ice tea. I saw the reviews and it's okay, good service but more of American than a Thai place. The Thai ice tea was more watered down to be honest. The Pad Thai was good portion, ordered it with tofu, the noodles was too well done and mushy, it could use more tofu and vegetables. Flavor wise it was par not really flavorful and spice wise I ordered spicy and yeah it was close enough to the Thai spiciness I'm used to but it kinda overwhelmed over the flavor of the Pad Thai. I guess I'll say it's more Americanized. I'll probably come back and try some other food they have and see how it is next time. read more

I've eaten here since a little girl and still enjoy stopping in for my favorite; a Thai omelet (don't even think twice about it) just order it, medium spice level (your nose will be running so defintely keep this in mind) with the rice and toast. Different types of fish, shrimp you name it also baked too. NO Booze! That was great! How many places have you been to where food is decent to good and someone drinking brings down the atmosphere! 4 1/2 stars would be more accurate. Food was amazing. For years I've been trying to think of a way to incorporate chicken with breakfast (other than chicken and waffles). These guys nailed it. Actually it's a little more like incorporating breakfast with your Thai chicken and rice. But either way it works. I had the medium Spicy Thai Chicken Omelette with Rice. My Huns had the mild Spicy Pork Thai Omelette with Hash Browns and she loved it. Both were amazing. Service was outstanding. And at $11.50/person including drinks makes N&T's very affordable. After a while you just get tried of not being heard. I order the same thing several times from this restaurant and each time it incorrect and/or different. A chopped chief salad with no onion, no swiss and cucumbers on the side.... how hard is it? Several times the salad came not chopped. Several times the salad came with shaved radish and when I complained, the hosted insisted that their salad doesn't contain radish. I'm guessing that I just made that up!?!? At least 6 different times the salad came with swiss and cucumber in the salad.... of course those where the times when they managed to actually chop the salad so it was impossible to pick out the pieces. Well again today it was the same thing, swiss, cucumber and radish in my salad. Out of frustration, I decide to not try and pick through the salad and notifying the restaurant of their mistake later but instead I called the restaurant to have them correct my order and was told that they were to busy to make me a new salad. Let me see... when I picked up the salad 10 minutes earlier there were 2 people in the restaurant. They no longer need to worry about having me as a customer so maybe they will have time to correct their next mistake. read more

The sandwich was limp, soggy, and made with low quality processed meat-like stuff. It was accompanied by commercially provided crinkle cut fries and really bad slaw. Moved in a few months ago. Friends told us about this place. Said to get the fried chicken. It was good. If you want really good chicken go to Mike's Chicken and Donut in Kenosha. They brine the chicken in prep and it is tender and tasty. The Thai food is ok. Nothing I woud chase back over for. The homemade bread they give you is good. Service was ok. Nothing wonderful. The food here is truly excellent. Have yet to have a "bad" meal. The specials are always very good and plentiful. I enjoy their breakfasts tremendously as they are much fresher tasting than many other restaurants in the area. The folks that work here are all wonderful.
