I have a special needs sibling and when asked if she wants to go here, it doesn't even take a second for her to shoot up and say yes. My sister never wants to go anywhere but here, not even a second thought it's a yes. Not sure where people are saying it's hard to find stuff, but everything is so easy to find, even my sister can find what she wants in seconds. For the disabilities that she has, it's a breath of fresh air that I can see she feels relaxed enough to not want to cling to me. Everywhere else, they're inches away, here the moment we park she bolts to the door and acts like I dont exist. This place will always be a 10/10 for me and my family. My kid is now 2nd generation Comickaze, and he goes straight for the kid section. This place has it all. Their prices are beyond fair, no one else will beat their prices.

I always love supporting businesses in the city I was born & raised in. But this morning completely switched my mind on that! Who ever worked 6/10/2026 this morning either didn't get enough sleep or hates his life. I called to ask if a certain variant cover for a new issue was in stock and he gave me the NASTIEST attitude, I was in complete shock. It wasn't what he said it's HOW he said it. As if I was an inconvenience, a customer? Maybe he was overwhelmed since there was 7 customers in the store like he stated but again he could've had way better attitude I mean it is 10AM lively up! I've worked customer service majority of my life and it's #1 priority for a business to thrive and keep customers coming back. I called comics n stuff right after and the lady was so eager to help me! Very disappointed!

If you been to their old location, it's seems spread out and not as organized. With a smaller store, inventory looks overwhelming BUT everything is closer together and easier to browse, get help, and find that you are looking for. It's July aka ComicCon season. I tend to frequent here nearing ComicCon and I don't know why. I don't buy anything. I don't see anything new. But I do like to come here to window shop at their little nicknacks they post in the front area of the store. It's also my connection to ComicCon yearly. AUTOMATIC FIVE-STAR RATING! Okay, besides that, Now or Never is one of the few (if not only) comic book stores in Downtown San Diego. It's actually cleaner and more organized than the ones I frequent, but the relatively small size of the building means they don't have as much in stock as I'd like. Case in point, I wanted to show my appreciation for supporting SDCC by getting a couple of graphic novels of Trese and Usagi Yojimbo, but the ones I wanted weren't in stock. But, given how I was surprised to see a comic book store a few blocks away from the Convention Center, I can see myself probably checking it out again whenever I'm in the area.

They were one of the vendors, and they always had such a great selection of books. And their staff was amazing, especially working under the pressure of a book festival! I've had the privilege of being able to visit their physical location, and it was such a lovely (and expensive) visit. Their store proved on what a great selection of books they have, and a good number of them were special edition, signed bookplates, or inked signatures! Staff was great at the physical location, as well. Also, we were able to visit on a Friday for a free book! They do have special events quite often, where an author may come by and speak about their book and do signings! Their Instagram page is quite active, thankfully, so I've been able to order a few special events' books to be delivered to me ( I don't live in the SD area). For the physical location, the parking can be a bit limiting, depending on what time you go. We visited them two (three?) times in a given week and had most success for a parking space earlier in the day, and didn't try to venture for an evening visit. Bluestocking Books is the kind of bookstore I would specifically go out of my way to buy gifts for people, or to (gasp) buy a book for myself. There are little cozy nooks around the bookstore, as there should be in a bookstore. There's also a section for kids, with a little table and some reading material to peruse. Inexplicably, Bluestocking Books is closed on Wednesdays! What an interesting day to be closed, but I guess you have to be closed at least one day, right? Why not Wednesday? The people who work here are very friendly and helpful, and there's just a palpable welcoming vibe emanating from the store. It's a nice place to browse and find the perfect book.
