Salad bar

My family and I stopped for dinner on the way home. We had great service despite us chasing our two granddaughters around the game area. The waitress was very patient and made sure we had everything we needed. We had the traditional wings with the sauce on the side. Wings were very crispy and hot. Sauces were all good. My wife had the salad bar and was pleasantly surprised by how fresh everything was. We shared two 12" pizzas, a CJ's favorite and a supreme. Crust was hand tossed and very good on both. Toppings were very good and maybe a little on the light side for me, I like a pizza to be loaded down. Overall very good and worthy of five stars. We will be back.

You will find it in the small town of Amo, which prior to today, I never heard of. It is a general store and pizza shop and in addition to its pizza, they sell ice cream, drinks, beer, wine coolers, chips and other light snacks. There is free street parking on the street in front of the store and a parking lot for the nearby trailhead within a reasonable walking distance. They have a few tables located in the back of the place to sit and eat. I just got my food to go. The guys working there during my visit were very friendly and helpful. As far as their pies go, they have a few signature pies or you can build your own. I went with the All Around the World signature pie. I called in my order ahead to save time. It takes about an hour, give or take to prepare their pies, so, I highly recommend calling ahead like I did. When I picked up my order, I knew that I was in trouble. It was heavy. I got a workout in taking the pie to my car. I drove to a nearby park, where I at my pie. It was delicious and packed with toppings. It was very flavorful and had everything but the kitchen sink. On second thought, it may have even had that too. I did not even put a dent in it. I had dinner and lunch for the next day. The pie was well worth the 40 minute drive it took to get here. I highly recommend checking this place out. You will be hard pressed to find a better pie. They have high quality food and excellent service.

Thus, I'm also trying to snag a few more reviews before my life returns to a bit more normalcy. I'd been curious about Danville's Two Guys Pies, a sister restaurant to The Beehive located in the same two-storefront strip center at the corner of Main Street and Indiana Street. Parking is a little tight here in a parking lot behind the restaurants. There are a couple accessible spots including one with a small aisle to allow for safe exit for wheelchairs. The parking spot is directly across from the building and there's a pretty good concrete ramp. I have noted there are times when longer vehicles block the somewhat narrow sidewalk just a bit. The last time I came to this building, I went to The Beehive and looked down and realized that Two Guys Pies would have been blocked had I wanted to go there. There's a couple glass doors. The dining room includes a bar area, a handful of traditional tables, and a few more booths. I really only saw a couple smaller tables (which I tend to take since I'm often dining alone), however, I was able to snag one. Two Guys Pies obviously specializes in pizza, however, they definitely have a more extensive menu. They advertise having the best salad bar in Hendricks County. There are appetizers, wings, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, calzones, rollers, bombs (I will admit I have no idea what bombs are), a kids menu, daily specials, family specials, and more. There's also lunch specials from 11am-2pm. I ordered a 7" pepperoni pizza (essentially a create-your-own option) along with two breadsticks along with unsweetened iced tea. The breadsticks came with cheese (I don't know if marinara was an option - this was delivered automatically). The pizza was definitely a thin crust. It was quite good and I would easily order it again. The menu says it comes with eight slices - just be aware it is only a 7" pizza. Those "slices"are smaller. The breadsticks were good, though I'm not sure I'd order them again at $2.99. You can order larger quantities. The service was welcoming. I enjoyed watching the atmosphere. It's clear it was a mixture of regulars and some maybe not so much so. The servers seemed relaxed with the customers. I liked that one older customer dining alone, in particular, seemed to get some definite human connection. The dining room has large windows. There are five widescreen televisions - all were showing sports, though there was some variation. I enjoyed this experience. You could also easily park at the town square and make it the one block east to Two Guys Pies. Service was great, the food was good, the prices were fair, the atmosphere was welcoming (though at least two kids acted like they'd never seen a wheelchair or an amputee before) and I'd easily return. While my time in Hendricks County is winding down, at a hard time in my life after my father's death I've enjoyed getting to know this small town a whole lot more.

I am always a big fan of supporting a local restaurant - especially when it is genuinely that good! Their thin crust pepperoni has been my standing order. Sauce, not too sweet - and super flavorful. The pepperonis are amazing with a nice subtle heat/spiciness to them. More importantly, the STANDARD pepperoni pizza comes with so much pepperoni, you would think you accidentally ordered a meat lovers! This place is generous! I was today years old though when I actually read the menu and saw they also do a Chicago style deep dish. It was almost as good as some of my favorites from Chicago - but pretty dang close. Overall, though, their thin crust is the best thing on their menu. This is a bitter sweet review for me though, because I had another great experience AND discovered today that Dawg House will be going out of business on May 30, 2026! They will be making way for a Greeks Pizza set to open in July. At least Greeks isn't terrible - but to all the people from Dawg House, you will be missed!

They also have some spectacular looking calzones, subs, salads, etc. We ordered the pepperoni sticks and a 14" pepperoni pizza. It was delicious, regardless. We loved the breadsticks with pepperoni in the middle as well. For a total of $27 we also got two fountain drinks. It took about 10 mins to get our order and we enjoyed playing darts while waiting. This looks like it would be a great place to grab a beer and watch the game. The staff is super friendly and I was surprised to see the young man in the back actually throwing the pizza dough. We are definitely going back!

Located on the western end of Avon, Pizzaville is in a strip center with Parlor Doughnuts in the parking lot, Hotcakes Emporium a handful of storefronts down and a couple other cool storefronts. In case it's not obvious, Pizzaville specializes in pizza. They offer dine-in, carry-out, and delivery in select areas. They also cater special events. One of the things I noticed was large signage indicating a lunch buffet during the week ($11.99). There's accessible parking almost directly in front. The main entrance offers a weird ramp up to the door - despite having a ramp, I'd actually say it's not accessible because the ramp is at such a weird angle. I was able to get in, however, it took effort. It's much easier if you approach it from the parking lot rather than the sidewalk. Once you enter, you arrive at the ordering spot. The dining room is to your left. The decor is simple yet clean. As I recall, they serve Coke products. They do have Gold Peak Unsweetened Iced Tea in the fountain. They do also have some canned/bottled offerings. While I arrived on a weekend (no buffet), there was a $6.99 special that included a mini-pizza up to 3-toppings and a fountain drink. The prices can definitely go up, though I found pricing quite fair and definitely quite good. They have a handful of sides - I was tempted by breadsticks, but they are $5.99. I read a couple reviews indicating it's a pretty big serving - so, I held off this time. I ordered a mini-pizza with sausage and pepperoni along with my fountain drink. They were friendly and offered help. The mini-pizza is basically a "personal" pizza and it's on the smaller side. I was pleased with it and would easily order it again. I believe there's a side room you can reserve. There's single user bathrooms with grab bars. I can't quite go to a 5-star here. I enjoyed the meal immensely and will easily return. This is a solid 4-star experience with good quality and good value. I arrived late in the lunch hour - business was pretty light, though it was steady. I'm enjoying my journey through Hendricks and Putnam County. While it was initiated by a sad experience, it's introducing me to the communities of Avon, Danville, and Coatesville and I'm really enjoying that. If you're looking for a new pizza buffet experience, this is a solid one to try from Monday-Friday during lunch. Otherwise, they still have great specials and for those on a budget you can eat for under ten bucks by using specials.
